I could have sworn that sorrow’s embrace was the most underplayed dungeon. I even forget it exists on the map most of the time.

I’ve been playing since November and I still haven’t had a reason to go there. It’s probably because the armor is hella ugly and the weapons are just red version of Asuran skins.

Only reason i know of is going for a juggernaut and the other legendary that needs 500 of those tokens.

pretty sure that complaint box wouldn’t matter cause the devs would probably never read it. Also when players see that living story > their complaints or constructive criticisms many just leave. I know i only log in once a week for guild missions and then log off cause this living story gives me nothing a good story can. Can’t even remember the names of the people we just met over the past few months.

Also we do need bigger. Bigger is better.

This person is a great example of the type that will complain about every thing and will never lissom to any thing any one will say to them.
“pretty sure that complaint box wouldn’t matter cause the devs would probably never read it.” This is the worst attitude to take to any thing in a game or in real life because effectually your saying nothing will change.

Here’s every other forum response i get “wait more.” Sick of waiting month after month so i’m investing my time and money into other games. While i wait for gw2 to actually get better. Also no i’ve never seen any other game’s forum have a “complaint box” because even devs know it’s a dumb idea to call it that. Lets be honest it’s already split into the discussion and suggestion forum.

invest in player generated content. Players who can create = free labor when they have the right tools. More workers = more content for potentially no cost. Moderate rewards at the end of said content, build more dungeons and PvE.

It’s pretty much the waiting game for me trying to complete my legendary (stupid precursor) and such. So i really gain little to nothing by playing and nothing really interests me at the moment. There’s also no life features or player housing. The combat lacks depth so i just go on auto-pilot. The only things i really do is log in weekly to do guild missions (and lead them) and log off.

Hey there,
I’ve been thinking about going after Incinerator and was wondering what would be the best way of obtaining ‘Spark.’ The Incinerator precursor. I heard that mystic forging rares used to work, but apparently that got nerfed, I never checked patch notes for that nerf and was wondering if it is still possible to craft Spark and any other precurser using corresponding rares? Or do I have to use exotic daggers now to craft it?

There’s a few ways to get a precursor all of them are pretty much rng. you can throw lvl 75/76+ or 80 rares or exotics in the forge. There’s getting them from guild missions, random drops, and chests or saving up the gold to buy it. You get a slightly better chance with exotics than rares. But sometimes you can sell an exotic then buy cheaper rares and get more attempts in. The two key factors that matter are “level” and “rarity” of the items. Higher the two factors then the better the chances.

Our reactions to farming nerfs

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Shuguard.7125

Shuguard.7125

The latest case of “farming nerfs” was actually a bug fix. I’m aware of this because I was asked to help identify the issue. The area in question contained a spawn that was defined to have more creatures than spots for those creatures to spawn. So for example, 25 skelks spawning on 10 points. This is not intended. Not only does it just look absurd, it’s also leads to some extremely bizarre play conditions. This is one of those bugs that’s so buggy, the fact that our toolset even allowed this to happen is a bug. Another bug caused this bug. Bugception.

If we didn’t want players to be able to farm, we wouldn’t have put in the huge (and free) magic and gold find buffs for Southsun Cove. We wouldn’t drop loot from the giant mobs of creatures that appear in upscaled events. We certainly wouldn’t have put in chests that appear after events which cycle every 8 to 10 minutes. How quickly all of that content goes completely forgotten in the angered responses to a simple change to an area that was clearly bugged. :/

On farming in general, there’s a sweet spot that combines good loot with fun, engaging content. I think Southsun had that going for it, especially before certain aspects of the content were isolated as optimal. As someone who’s actively working on upcoming Living World releases, I’m aiming to find that sweet spot and hit it in a big way.

So why don’t you guys just do the same thing, just do it in other zones rather than Southsun. You could easily redesign a few events and make suitable farming locations around the world, heck every zone in the game could have one like the instigators. Then there probably wouldn’t be as many complaints about farming.

So my friend who had some left over blueprints from previous wvw experiences had finally built an omega golem. We wanted to use it with a large herd of other golems to take over Stonemist. My friend and I were testing it out because we had never seen one before and right as i got out to pass it back to him. Someone else jumped inside his golem. We tried asking him to get out multiple times and to give it back, but this fool ran outside with the golem and got it killed by running into a zerg. This is griefing and completely unacceptable. Golems need blueprint ownership to prevent this and a report option for griefing.

Here’s a tip i personally love using. If you have aggro and are trying to avoid the agony arrows without wasting a dodge roll. Then get 900 units away from the boss and “q” + “e” spam strafe. His arrow is just slow enough that at 900 units you can trick the A.I. and dodge it without wasting a roll.

If you want the best chance to not have the boss attack the villagers then drag him to the center close to the lava. This way he has to travel a long distance and if you have a slow or chill (apply before the shield is up), you can slow him down and easily take the shield off.

Reflect shields above all are the easiest way to deal with the boss.

I agree, though I also don’t like you demanding things.

In the Diessa Plains puzzle mission, we had someone fall off their platform at the curtains and die. Two of us went to go rez him – and all three of us were then locked out of the next room. You need at least six people to do that part of the puzzle, and the rest of the guild can’t come back through that door, so we were screwed. I don’t like the fact that we got punished for helping someone else out.

I do understand ANet doesn’t want someone to just be able to run straight through after the guild unlocks each section. Perhaps an option would be to close the main door after a period of time and then allow people to go back to a checkpoint where the rest of the guild is. Or that teleporter idea, that could work too.

No I’m not really demanding anything. I’m just giving suggestions to fix bad design. Anything(game content, dungeons, etc.) that has something that can exclude others is not fully thought out. It looks really bad when they(Anet) could have done more patch work on it while we(players) spent over 2 months trying to unlock it. I still have fun with puzzle and think it’s a great idea, but it’s just not perfect and could use some fine tuning.

Easiest solution to fix the events within the puzzles. Just tie them to the overall puzzle event timer. So at any point when my group ahead completes a part then the doors should remain open and shouldn’t close unless the 20 min timer elapses.

Or there should be a teleporter when you die that takes you to the next room (once it has been completed) if you die so your team can rez you and not leave you behind.

Companies exist to make money is making you sick? What can’t you grasp with the fact that it is how every business works. Businesses are only in existence to make money in any way they see fit. Businesses that go into “business” without that goal are called non-profit organisations, or charity, and I can assure you NCSoft, ANet, whatever company you like to bring forward that backs or creates Guild wars would never go by that title.

That is simply because they are overall out to make a profit. Whether you think that’s acceptable or not is your choice but unfortunately for you it is the way of the world and there is no escaping it. Whether you like it or not, every single profitable business is only in it for the money. The workers for said company may be in it for the fun and do the best they can, hell, they might not even agree with the RNG themselves. But at the end of the day it is not down to every worker what goes in the gem store, and overall goes back to management who have got to their position by meeting goals – making money.

No reread it again, The “argument” makes me sick. Also because this company makes no effort to sell a full set of skins for a set price rather than through rng is sickening. You can still make a profit without rng. Other mmo’s and steam/origin are proof of it.

Shuguard.7125

This “companies exist to make money” argument is making me sick. Just because a company exists to make money does not mean it should have to rely on rng lotteries to make money. Steam, Origins, Planetside2, and Riot don’t even have the word “chance” ever mentioned anywhere in their respective cash shops or library stores.
So gw2 being reliant on rng is complete bullkitten.

I’m willing to bet if they sold one skin a piece for a reasonable rate on the gem store they could easily mimic(or get close to) a subscription fee per month if they just sold skins on the gem store. The effect is: still making money while on top of that making satisfied customers. You know the people supporting the game cause kitten off customers is the greatest business model ever.

Not to mention the cost of hiring an artist to make animations and skins for weapons is extremely cheap if they all follow the same theme after one idea is created.

Not enough AR joining high level Fractals

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Shuguard.7125

Shuguard.7125

problem with the ar/level system is that “anyone” can just jump in without knowing the basics of how fotm works. A suggest ar system might help, but honestly it would be better if you had a wiki pop up appear when they first enter with no ar and an explanation. Also getting ar isn’t readily accessible to someone who just jumps in. They have to go through the hoops to get guild comms or pristine relics or rings or laurels for amulet.

When you get down to it, it’s not about the ar in other fractals it’s the players skill. If they aren’t skilled enough to dodge boss agony attacks they die. The only times when a player should die (without having the ar) is jade fractal.

That’s the wrong mentality.
Do you play the game for fun, or to make it your job, just to buy the best stuff to show off?
I run CoE and Arah mostly. With the right team (one that’s prepared to be thought the boss mechanics, or one that knows it), it can be fun.

Other than that I do agree that dungeon loot is broken and needs fixing.

While it’s not the right mentality, it’s pretty much for clearing up the gold grind for a legendary. Everyone will look at it as the path of least resistance. If it doesn’t look right Anet should definitely change it. Be it nerf cof p1 or buff all the loot to make everything viable.

while I do agree with you that it’s the best dungeon to earn money in, my point was that grinding for most would feel not fun, therefore they should go to a dungeon that would be fun for them instead of trying to get a legendary. If you played a hundred hours just to get a legendary and didn’t enjoy the journey you might have been better off getting it in 700 hours, but having fun while getting there.

I agree completely i would rather have fun getting there, but honestly i’ve gotten to the point where all that’s left is grind gold for the precursor, but then everyone just says wait for the scavenger hunt, but i’m kinda sick of waiting over 5-6 months for Anet to spend some time on it. So i’m starting to look at the cold reality of it all.

because most players have done everything multiple times and dungeons are not worth the time investment vs. loot. Most bosses don’t have good mechanics and are just plain boring to fight. Pvp is a different story. The only thing i like doing is frac 26/ 30 because it is moderately challenging and i really want a cool looking skin. In short make dungeons worth the loot.

Friends who were moving to this game and the no subscription fee.

How often do you play with and interact with other players? Are most of your friends people you know from in game, or from real life?
I usually play with my friends everyday, just not always in gw2. Only 2 friends from other games, the rest i met in my guild.

What do you do with your time in game?
fractals 26/30, guild missions on sunday, figure out ways to get my precursor so i can finish my legendary, stand around doing nothing cause nothing is rewarding other than world bosses, maybe a sab run to get baubbles. Gonna be honest i’m really bored.
