I haven’t cried a single time about items spiking or just becoming more expensive because of the bot ban but now it’s jsut getting rediculous
Silver DOubloons have increased 25x in price?? Some people need 250 of these “low level crap items” for their legendary – Now I wouldn’t mind but they just CANT be farmed? You just cant get them?
Whats wrong with these items?
There are ways of farming them. It just involves a lot of bag RNG. There are 3 bags(“bag of pilfered goods” “light miner bags” “bag of skritt shinies”) that drop silver doubloons. You can find them in here from pig who did more research than I. :P
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/Legendaries-with-unbalanced-difficulties/first#post929339Seems like someone wised up to the alternative and bought out all the skritt bags, doubling their price from 75c to 1s50c.
Someone is playing this market, and probably making a lot of money.
Oh of course, someone is trying to hold onto a small monopoly. Then again there are others who would possibly love to benefit from this as well. So basically a lot of people know the supply is low and the demand(high) will eventually reflect it.
i had a few bad runs with 10 shot mystic clover recipes….
for putting a pear on the tp? There are far more serious offenses to commit then a small joke. You are fine.
to quote any developer of any mmo/mmorpg “when it’s ready.”
Had a friend get the legend and another friend got dusk. good stuff.

Okay so i did more searching and “bags of skritt shinies” drop silver doubloons. Where you find them is up to you. Gl hf
Does it matter what level the skritt are? Also do you have any recommendations on where to farm skritt?
This doubloon business is just ridiculous. I go away for 2 weeks and the price skyrockets from something like 2-3s to 40s
i couldn’t get any on light skritt bags(the wiki didn’t show any results of them either). Now sadly someone bought out all the skritt bags. But it’s just called “bag of skritt shinies”.
Edit: yes level will matter since i’ve only found them from the particular bags.
“bags of skritt shinies” drop them, but it’s a low drop rate.
I’ve just done Sorrow’s Embrace with my level 66 character, who has maxed out (400) jewelcrafting. I got a recipe for an exotic BoE ring which I cannot learn because the recipe itself requires level 80.
In other words, I can’t make the ring to sell at the TP or to wear on my level 80 characters until I get this specific character to level 80.
Why? What sense does this make? Why have a level 80 requirement on a recipe that drops in a level 65 dungeon? In fact, why have a level requirement at all? Surely the relevant “level” for crafting should be the craft skill level. If a character has 400 in jewelcrafting, it’s not like he can get any “better” at it.
You have one of those extremely rare level 80 exotic recipes. Which means you out of a very small group of people can make those rings. Those rings specifically sell for 2g-15g(rings vary). Do not judge the book by it’s cover, you have no idea how lucky you are.
Got 3 rares last night. Rng is Rng.

Think of it this way OP. What if you had 2 legendaries!
they said on the notes(or the future content hints) that legendaries would be equal to ascended(as they roll out overtime).
well… best advice is to learn the ways of the char.
Seriously though, you can dodge his laser beam after the skull mark above your head disappears. Best way to deal with it is kill tentacles and when his health is low enough for him to do his spread, just run to some hard to hit corner(hard part). If you hide well enough you can kinda dodge it, or have someone jump off as he spreads lasers then res back a platform and hopefully your survivor can res the group(bootleg way).
nope RNG is RNG. Gotten 2 rings in 3 attempts. Just gotta keep farming jade maw.
Found a new cleverly placed pillar in the char fractal. When you turn left and go up the ramp(after the door of course) you can’t skip over one pack of ascalonians anymore.
Saw a little change in fractals that wasn’t listed. So i’m guessing they want us to kill those ascalonians rather than skip one mob. Oh well.
i make up for their mistakes or i have at least 1 of my friends with me. Then teach them as i go.
Cause I see people selling Superior Runes on Trading Post, so there must be a way for them to make it right?
Is there a fansite database for all these “Discovery” combination?
Where the merchants that most likely sell recipe? (beside the one in town) What do you recommend?
Well some runes are all combined in the mystic forge(like 4 major runes combined into 1 superior(which relies on chance)). Or they are salvaged from an armor piece and sold. The gw2database
http://www.gw2db.com/
can help you with information.
Some superior runes don’t have specific recipes or they are extremely rare to get. If you are looking for some exotic/rare level recipes you gotta buy them from the respective merchant with karma.
Sorry, maybe this is stupid but…shouldnt pirates, about lvl 30 or so, drop silver doubloons?
To be honest that sounds logical, i’ll test this when i get the chance. Probably kill maybe 100 pirates and see what happens, then i’ll try another 100.
Edit: Okay so i killed 100 pirates(lvl 31 w/ 3 champions in the group) with 4% MF (small i know). I got 5 blue items, 17 bags, 13 sell-ables and other whites. So no silver doubloons. I will try again later and edit this post.

Would it be bad if i told ya there’s more to do after that fight and possibly the easiest last boss fight ever exists. It took me a long time to figure out how to do sparks and stuff, you just gotta figure the pattern of moving the sparks effectively(unless you are bugging it).
Someone was saying TA dropped the colossus, but i didn’t see any screenshots or anything.
Edit: asked a friend about it and he told me he was with someone who got the colossus doing CoF. So i’m going to guess that all chests(or certain ones) have a chance of dropping a(any) precursor.
(edited by Shuguard.7125)
funny enough ascalon has a few extra zones to that achievement(if you get all ascalon jump puzzles and etc.), it should somewhere around 178 or 180 total(recently completed the maps). Right now i’m missing 3 in maguuma, didn’t look too hard, but i’ll find em eventually.
Do this so i can send people some bunny ears.
any updates as to scavenger hunt or anything?
/sadface
Nope, just gotta have patience friend. Hopefully you’ve got everything for mats and other parts for your legendary. Have a nice day.
Edit: other option would be surfing the forums to find if your precursor drops off a champ or chest somewhere.
Pretty much all other gifts are made with craftable materials (except as far as i know, entertainment, color, and quicksilver). Hopefully next patch we can craft silver doubloons from copper which would be at least slightly fair.
edit: As far as i know from the wiki, silver doubloons are from chests only(no recipe).

i like the new node, now i don’t have to waste time running around orr and i can get back to running dungeons or other things.
if there was a recipe to craft the silver doubloons(probably in jewelcrafting since you already need jewelry for the juggernaut recipes anyways). I’d be perfectly okay with the requirements. It doesn’t make sense that jewelers can make gold doubloons(from silver doubloons), but we can’t make silver or platinum doubloons.
I’d like a slight change to human(as far as i know) animations for the 1 combo series, because who swings a hammer while holding 2 hands far apart (one hand bottom and one hand near the hammer head. A more precise hit maybe, but you’d use something smaller in that case). A good hammer swing tries to get the full length of the hammer unless the human animations are trying to look weak and we need the hand near the hammer head to support and swing it. That’s the only part that bothers me about guardian hammers.
Edit: example swing that would look much better imo.

As far as i know it won’t be for a few more patches. It’s a very delicate thing to handle, so it has to be done right the first time. Eventually though someone will make a wiki for it and it will probably lose most of the “hunting” charm.
It is very weird that rare jewelry requires ecto’s when all the other crafts(rare versions) don’t. Again no rush getting your exotic jewelry, and since southsun cove is here you can grab that rich orichalcum node pretty easily if you avoid the champion.
Just to help out.
each exotic piece requires 5 ecto’s and 5 orbs. In ore(in ingots) 32(16) ori for amulet, 30(15) for rings, 28(14) for earrings.
I run both staff and hammer for my guardian everywhere and i just use 6 superior runes of the soldier. Then i threw in 2 shouts for utilities, signet heal, and 10% less incoming damage signet. I take a lot less damage and i can have up to 4 condition removals Which can be very helpful for getting rid of poison or confuse. If it doesn’t help i suggest taking a good look at the sticky’d thread about hammer guardians.
Well if it helps anyone else i finally got one vial from the grawl fractal. I got it off one of the grawl in the very first part where you have to kill a lot of them.
Lets see. I’ve played a lot of different F2P mmos and mmorpgs, realm of the mad god, Warhammer online age of reckoning, Rift, SW:TOR, but i’ve never played WoW(probably never will). Now i have played GW2.
I really like the buy to play aspect of GW2 with no monthly subscription. I find that the content and patching given to gw2 is very adequate. The combat is okay for me. The PvE story however, is probably one of the worst aspects (trahearne stealing the spot light from the main character is a big no-no). I will give credit that the start of the story is good, and the factions portion is great, but the third part(trahearne and orr) is terrible. The PvP is this game is okay, it still needs improvements which will come in time. Overall I guess i have a nice soft spot for GW2 in my heart, but i don’t fully love it since it could use some fixes and more work.
The only two ways are the temple of bathsalts (hehe i mean balthazar) with karma.
Or fractals with the fractal token transactions.
It would make some sense if a jeweler could make silver doubloons from copper doubloons. Since we can already make gold doubloons from silver doubloons. Also i need about 250 silver doubloons for my legendary and buying all 250 would be close to 40 gold. :/
Would really appreciate a recipe to make silver doubloons.
my friend who has been running same level fractals(and with me) has about 4 mists. Me, i have nothing. RNG is a cruel mistress.
you could have reported him/them for the vulgar language part. That shouldn’t belong here.
Don’t worry.
I did.
I tip my hat to you sir, best luck next time(just a group or stroke of bad luck).
Best keep a ranged weapon in your bag next time. I usually keep scepter, focus, staff, GS, shield, and hammer on me or in my bags at all times. Plus you ran into either a bad pug or a crappy group of elitists(unless you were running arah i can understand why) also you could have reported him/them for the vulgar language part. That shouldn’t belong here.
We got to Lupi(on path 4) and the cutscene didn’t start. So we couldn’t progress. Randall had died when we walked in the room and insta-ressed, but no cutscene happened.
So i’ve done the cliffside fractal twice now. Yet i don’t see the reason as to why this colossus was chained up. So my question is two part. Why is this guy chained up? Also where does he go afterwards and do?
Somehow i feel like we just warped into the fractal and killed some cultist who chained up the colossus for everyone else’s protection. Why else would you chain up something that huge? Or is this some kind of S/M cult with chains, cages, spikes, etc.
P.S. i want that cultist hammer as my own
(edited by Shuguard.7125)
got two rares off of two champions in the zone, plenty of powerful and potent bloods. Soon there will be a rich orichalcum vein open inside the hive. I also run no magic find, drops are pure luck.
i completely agree with this video.
I think the moss man is the best feature of this map, but the puzzle is a bit tedious.
The mossman was weird in the swamp fractal. Dunno what he’s supposed to do other than disappear like rambo or something. Other than that, this dungeon is pure awesome. Already got to level 4 but didn’t see much in terms of agony.
I can’t contain my excitement anymore, i hope this patch releases when the dailies reset for today.
Huh. Now we’ve been lied to, and you’re gloating because you bought a game you knew nothing about, walked in, told everyone who had been supporting the game previously based on what it was that they’re idiots and the whole thing should conform to you instead and be nothing like what was promised and rather be everything like every other MMO on the market.
Take your conformity elsewhere, square.
Well i read something on the gw2 guru website and if you have a digital copy of the game then you can get a complete refund.
I had lupi vomit bubble traps hit me three times in a row yesterday(still downed him on first attempt). But i guess it’s just bad luck. Was he switching aggro multiple times? Or chasing someone possibly running a little too far from his range?
