Be pretty kitten disappointing to not have a Canthan Expansion when the game was designed for ‘Guild Wars Faithful’ to have ancestry. One would hope that my characters could visit their ancestors homelands….. All of my characters except for 2 were of Canthan origin in Guild Wars 1 and that remains true in Guild Wars 2 but through ancestry.
And if NCsoft is so stuck on a universal feel, remove the accents from the Sylvari. Your not fooling anyone there…. In my opinion, stick to the lore you’ve already built and kept strong for over 7 years. Don’t just drop it like it never happened.
Whats more universal then a game world/city that embraces all the different cultures? Instead they think it best to make them completely absent to make the game ‘universal’. Then their definition of universal must be ‘boring and plain’
Grawl is the only tough Fractal. Colossus/Cliffside is easy with even slight coordination on the arms.
Oh, btw lvl 22 with only 10 AR atm. LOL
Yes, but a costly one. Quivers, etc don’t require level 10 Fractal Items but alot of other mats.

I don’t have many people on my block list and I’m happy for that. Though one of my friends does have a person on their block list and still sees that person’s messages in Guild Chat and Party Chat.
I’d hope this would be fixed soon, as I think its quite the extreme to have to kick/leave a guild just to avoid a person you don’t get along with.
Except Bloodstone Shard. This needs to be obtained by the character receiving the Legendary.
I have a Google Authenticator attached to my account. But everytime I start Guild Wars 2 it just starts without ever asking for an Authenticator code. I even removed the attached Authenticator and added a new one. No change.
A Guildie of mine observed what seemed to be bot like behavior on the TP. He was attempting to flip some items from a few weeks back and found that he was selling them for 4 silver by the truckload. But as soon as he raised it to just 4s1c he had no purchases. He looked at current orders for the item at 4 silver and found a measly 7. But once he switched it back to 4 silver he had over 100 sell within a minute.
A new bot?
I was hopeful since our most recent server reset/build on Tuesday. All four maps’ nodes stayed in the same spot for Tuesday and Wednesday. But, come Thursday and all the nodes in Malchor’s for Ori, Saplings, and Omnoms all moved around again :-(
Whats going on! Such a waste of time trying to find them again every day.
I can now confirm that Southsun Cove is also bugged. The Nodes have moved except the Rich Ori at the top of the Karka cave. I’ve also had party members get nodes in different locations then other party members did. Extremely confusing, fix please!
It would seem all nodes, not just Ori, but Orrian Sapplings, Omnoms and the like are all moving each day instead of each build/week. Please fix this huge waste of time. Frostgorge Sound, Cursed Shore, and Southsun Cove are fine.
Its been 2 days now where I have tried to attempt my gathering mats run on Malchor’s Leap to find no Ori nodes present. Today I found 1 in the water where it was 3 days ago. But no other nodes are present. Cursed Shore and Frostgorge Sound are fine. Logging out doesn’t help. Help?!?!?!?
Was halfway through pushing the Ancient Karka back to the nesting grounds when my guildies started spamming the nice loot that was dropping from the event. So I wanted to switch back to my main. So I go to character select screen but am unable to log in. Restarting the game only makes it worse as it won’t let me log in at all some times and other times will bring me to character selection screen.
“Epic One Time Event” only because nobody can stay connected in this garbage lag. Was flawless connection until this event started on friday.
Quick bump, wanted to know if anyone had found an alternate route to this Ori Node of if the devs intended on moving it to a spot that is actually accessible….
In Malchor’s Leap, the northwest Ori Node on Jinx Isle is not reachable. Literally. I even found my way out of the Inquest tunnels and into what seems to be an unfinished zone (missing textures and hollow mountains). When I finally did find a way up the mountain, I found a way up to the Ori Node and was able to even see the node pop up in front of me while I hovered over its area and saw the words pop up. But the Node itself is inside the mountain near the top, unfortunately I can’t walk through walls/mountains. :-(

At this point it wouldn’t be fair to add that achievement. There are only a few days left and for many players an achievement is a strong incentive to complete things. So the players who just gave up because there wasn’t one attached to this jumping puzzle and chose to do something else instead, might not have the time anymore to obtain it anymore.
If there was an achievement from the start, then it would’ve been fair.What in the living hell are you talking about boy. There has always been an achievement for the clock tower it’s called… Mad King’s Clock Tower – Worth 10 points. I don’t understand what you are getting at here?
I think its easy to determine he meant to say Title not Achievement. There are alot of achievements I’ll be skipping because they have no title.
I let this go the first couple of times as simply to much stuff exploding in WvWvW, but now I’m having it happen at random times. Sometimes I get the annoying alarm like siren going off when out farming ori by myself…… I hope this is being looked into. I hate restarting my game because I can’t stand the kitten siren going off.

Signet of Shadows is fine, there are times where the blind helps a lot, comes down to how good the player is
Infiltrator’s is weak.
I think both signets are great, maybe a little bit more initiative gain from the passive on Infiltratiors. But, as a D/D thief SoS is great for blinding a group of enemies as you finish them off or CaD to stealth to then be hidden after the blind. Infiltratiors is good for the stun break and extra Shadowstep.
It has been confirmed and explained in the threads somewhere but I’m not going to find it. But, it has been explained that any sigil that give stacks of something will not double up with another stacking sigil. Sigils with chance on critical strike do stack but share the same Internal Cooldown. So you still have to wait just as long for the next possibility for the proc to occur. Sigil’s with stats stack multiplicative so 2 Sigil’s of Accuracy (5%) =/= 10% but instead more around 7%
EDIT: Forgot to mention, for some reason the Player stats sheet doesn’t accurately display Sigil’s stat give stats atm. So that %5 Crit won’t show up on your overall crit chance, but has been confirmed that it is present.

Obviously, It’s gotta be the Final Boss for Sorrow’s Embrace! Classic Guild Wars 1 boss reinvented, the Forgemaster! Then add in Anets tribute to the Terminator Movie. As the boss finally dies and falls into the lava, a robot Thumbs Up comes out of the lava.
I wouldn’t want an automated group finder. What I’d rather see is: When you walk through a dungeon portal, instead of being put directly into the dungeon, you’re ported into a small ‘staging area’ instance which all servers share – like an Overflow, only without a ‘home’ server alternative.
Suddenly, you’re in the same room as everybody else in the world looking for a group for that particular dungeon, and yet the system is not completely randomized and robbed of all social interaction.
Best Idea Ever! And keeping the Guild Wars feel!
So to sum it up..
The Holy Trinity – which consists of:
-Tank who’s job it is to absorb and direct spike damage away from the group, coordinate with other tanks, exchanging aggro to avoid taking too many of one type of de-buff. Taunting and redirecting wandering minions away from the group.
Healer – who plays a key part in the group’s survival by restoring health, patching wounds (hots), neutralizing poison, de-cursing, resurrecting the fallen… essentially taking on the huge responsibility of keeping the team alive.
Damage – This is a funny one, because it seems that people have forgotten that even with the Trinity, EVERYONE can damage… these guys just do it harder, better, faster stronger.You can feel the synergy of your group, you trust in your friends abilities, you feel the flow of the fight and react. And if you do it well, it feels FUN.
GW2:
Insert Homogeneous Role – Run, run some more, run and shoot, evade, fall down and help a friend off the ground, die, re-spawn at nearest way-point, run and shoot some more.I know I’m being cynical and biased. I play a thief… it sucks, it’s not fun at all.
Why do I stick around? the other aspects of the game are great.
Played WoW for 5 years as an end game raider. Had 3 server firsts in a guild that was ranked at one point 198th in the world, pretty sure they disbanded now.
I started as a thief here and will stick with a thief, easy peasy lemon breezy. Take sometime to study your class and I guarantee you can have fun in dungeons. I bring D/D for my main DPS, then SB and P/P.
I haven’t found a single dungeon I haven’t found fun playing, maybe some paths are boring but as a whole every dungeon has been a blast for me. Yes, as a melee main thief.
58% base, 63% with food, 75% with max stacks of Sigil of Perception on my bow (very easy to get max stacks in a few min in WvW) 80% with keen observer. Switch back to dual wield daggers each with Sigils of Accuracy for 90%. 97% with side strike.
I thought you couldn’t stack Sigils of Accuracy.
Someone explained to me, the sigil with the highest stat is the one that takes the cake, and if both are the same, only 1 takes it.
Never tested it yet, didn’t want to drop the money in it.
What you stated is true. Dual Sigil’s Don’t stack.
Oh ho! I’m liking the information and different views/theories. I think I will be going Executioner now. I’ll have to make sure my Crit % is at 50% though. Think its only around 44.
Also,
Full Beserker? Full Berserker or 50/50 Beserker and Valkrie? For use in WvW as well.
Shortbow skills 2 and 4 tag entire events for loot drops. Auto win tagging. Out of initiative? Use autoattack and switch targets to tag 3 enemies a shot.
One of the threads in here actually has an ingame picture taken with two ArenaNet employs openly stating in map chat that it isn’t a bug and will be revealed later on during the month.

So I’m making a PVP build and I’m stuck on which major trait to use in the last section of Critical Strikes.
Executioner: Deal 20% extra Damage to foes below 50% Health
or
Hidden Killer: 100% Critical Chance from Stealth
The build I’m making will rely on stealth/backstab mostly.
Thanks for the input, I was thinking along those lines for gear stats. I’ll have to do some more Theorycrafting on your build compared to the one I’m using.

This happened to me as well. Funny thing is only minutes before the game restarted we had just finished CoF Path 2 and I got 144k exp. Instantly completing that section of the Montly. Only to come back after downloading the patch to find it gone T_T

They just need to get rid of DRs period. “Oh no, players are gaining 300 karma per event, that’s bad” is what their current thought process is. Its not like events ever gave an appropriate amount of karma or coin to begin with. I was expecting at least 10-15 silver per lvl 70+ event, but we get 1 silver…yeah gg.
10 silver is way to much. Everyone would be walking around with the “The Emperor” title in 2 weeks.
It’s what I run for PVE high end dmg output. I’d be curious to see what you have for your selectable traits. Though if your thinking pure power then I know what ones you picked.
I’m having a hard time deciding what stats I should be going for in my WvW gear. I have a PVE build designed for conditions but I swap out 3 traits easily for some added spike when doing WvW.
What I’d like are some opinions experiences on gear/stats to go for as a Thief in WvW. My playstyle in WvW will hopefully be based around spike and less so on conditions.

I agree with all the above. This is hitting way to hard on regular players. I can understand DR on DE Money and Exp but Karma is taking it to far. Thats our ONLY source for Karma and your punishing us for trying.
I’ve recently been in Straits of Devastation with me being sometimes the only person attempting to progress DE’s and succeeding for the most part. There are 3 chains I like to keep an eye on. 1 that goes for quite a while to take Lone Post but the last part to take the door down requires more then one person by far. Then the Quaggan chain and the Submarine team. So I’m completing them and wondering why nobody else is helping me take Lone Post when I notice I’ve started to only get 17 Karma for a Solo Gold medal of a DE.
Now I know why nobody is doing DE’s…. whats the point.
Well after playing for a few weeks and noticing how SERIOUSLY screwed up this game is I think I am done and going back to GW1 to play my ele so I can feel at least my character can do something. In gw2 my ele used meteor shower and it would bounce all over and around monsters and do NO DAMAGE it was so pitiful I want to cry. So off to GW 1 maybe I can feel at least my character is able to damage to creatures and not take it up the kitten at every turn.

From my experiences with Magic Find its working just fine. Luck is still luck, even if you buy every ball slot you still have to get lucking in the lottery. And just like you, I find more gems/pouches when harvesting with my MF gear on. But the most noticeable thing for me has been crafting mats and salvage only items. I would say rares are good too, but not nearly as solid proof as craft materials. I did however have 6 Rares drop within 30 minutes when I was in my MF gear when the Event Chains in Cursed shore were working. Though I’m more used too seeing 1 every hour.
These mobs are most likely grubs. They seem to be adjusting the loot that is dropped. As they are easily farmed for Venom sacs.
That is good! Considering most drops will be junk items or whites. Think about it, magic find also increases drops of crafting material and salvage only items that usually produce well good material. It wasn’t a mistake having only 80% MF against the Claw of Jormag and and coming out of the fight finally with 51 Large Claws. Trust me MF works. If your expecting rares and exotics to drop 1 per hour…. think again.
Magic Find will only increase a rare items chance to drop. If that item had a 0.5% chance to drop before MF then with 250% MF it now has a 1.25% chance of dropping. Not a big change but definetly an increase.
3 Legendary Bosses at the end of Meta Events in Cursed Shore. Claw of Jormag is still by far the most fun though.

Not to mention the bugs in cultural weapons and skins. For example Asuran tier 2 is sylvani weapons.
Wouldn’t call that a bug but rather the culture, since Sylvari hail from the Asuran homelands. They were born in Asuran lands back in Guild Wars 1 so it doesn’t surpise me their cultural sets mix the 2 influences.
As far as the cost of Cultural anything…. your paying for the skin and for the title “The Emperor”. Prestige will always come at a cost.
You were probably killing Grubs of some sort. A good majority of the grub variences have this pop up when they die or attempt to be looted. I’m guessing something wasn’t quite right with their drops.

well it’s confirmed “been there done that” is bugged if it relies on the exploration achievements I just did ascolon catacombs explorable and uncovered at least 3 or 4 new areas with names on the map. my ascolonian explorer didn’t budge still at 179/187

As I was leveling up leatherworking, I had my eyes set on creating the Superior Rune of the Pirate to sustain a good money/crafts flow to keep my quest for Exotics/Legendaries funded.
In order to do so I asked a fellow guildie that was 400 LW what the recipe for the Rune was. When I finally got to lvl 400 LW he told me it was 1 Platinum Doubloon and 1 Bolt of Gossammer, which he mistakenly told me was the Plat Doubloon and 1 Cured Hardened Leather. I went ahead with what he told me, and got a Superior Rune of the Traveler. But, now the Doubloons don’t show up in the discovery pane anymore.
So I instead sent the materials my guildie said it required for the Superior Rune of the Pirate and he sent it all back saying it wasn’t working for some reason.
Help? T_T

Well Pinkerton, yesterday I did one of the Cathedral bosses in Orr, Statue of whatever in Malchors. I was in power/crit chance gear myself, I was there at the boss from the very start till the very end, dpsing it all the time and I got silver. Would been bronze in cond gear.
Cond builds are simply going to blow when there’s vast majority of power/crit builds in the encounter present.
Not sure what your doing wrong. This is coming from a Thief that uses a heavy conditions, 40%+ crit, and power through out. I’ve almost alway got gold, even when I show up late for an event (just not really late). If the ONLY thing the event has as an objective is to kill 1 guy then you should get gold, but if its Cull the Risen forces and some Champion Giant Mob happens to be smack dab in the middle of it…… you better be killing everything at some point.

The quest refers to only one objective of killing the Elder Dragon Zhaithan. I completed the Dungeon of Arah once before reaching this point in my story. So when I got to this point in my story, I wasn't exactly surpised it didn't auto complete. So I joined a guild members Dungeon in which they only have a couple of sections left of the Dungeon. We proceeded to kill Zhaitan, but I was not award story completion. I only recieved the standard Dungeon Completion reward.
