The original 2.0 has 30 honor so I’m leaving that untouched. You can change it basically to anything you want. It’s a very flexible base build so if you wanted EM you could simply change it to EM. I wouldn’t now because of the nerf to VP. You will already have plenty setting off VP.

I don’t see the healing or damage being that big of a deal when I could use symbol heal. And heal everyone around me including myself which is the point of the Paladin like build in the first place

@Forrae I did a video on the comparisons. I had wow/rift/gw2 side by side it was so bad watching how muddied up wow is now. Rift is slightly better in smoothness but by far GW2 is the best in the department of feel. And again I said a few times in this post it’s far too easy for the panic button. Vanilla wow although it was the best was absolutely a control and combat debacle every other patch.

We the people of gaming get a little spoiled in these games now. And tend to forget just how bad things were and how good a quality we have now. Just because we don’t like a few parts of a game. Now with that said doesn’t mean we shouldn’t demand back. Some difficulty and encouragement to show some skill in this game

I’ve been using the same build (as your 2.5) since September 2012. Same weapons, same traits. Just different skills. I have healing symbol + save yourself + condition to boon meditation + wolf/hounds/tome. They stack pretty well.

I’m still not sure about conditions with guardian they seem really lacking compaired to other professions. I could be wrong though I haven’t tested it in depth. I’m doing weapon master this week because I got a lot of messages to redo it. Although I don’t know what more I can do with it maybe I’ll get creative hope it works.

Hmm guardians can be REALLY seflish in builds. But they aren’t supposed to be the highest dps power houses. But in truth I haven’t seen a single warrior whose a dps power house be able to sustain himself as well as a guardian doing it.

They should make like a dimension you can go just for fun. Where you can take on the past jumping puzzles. Maybe compete in finish times and a chance at prizes. I’m sure alot of people would appreciate that. Even let collectors have a chance at items they missed by completing that events puzzle. Atleast it be another shot anyway and one you earned.

It does seem like something is lacking. And progressive nerfs without much explanation makes it even more frustrating. When you spend a few hours honing skills and a build. Literally a week later it gets drop kicked. Usually for a reason you yourself isn’t even exploiting.

To be fair I find what ANet did with the shop a good thing, the drive people have to farm and offer tons of money for minis comes from wanting to have the full collection something which is now impossible and should cure quite a few people from bad spending habits.

What he said and why would you continue another 10 usd after the 50? They already said they make it so even collectors can get what they desired even if it’s missed. Seems your a little too impatient with your funds.

You can’t face roll PVE but you can zerg it. And bosses don’t react to that or even have a mechanic for it. Face roll and zerging are two different beast unfortunately. I WvW a lot I use the same tactics pretty much with additions. Like gtfo of dodge when focused or its 30 on 4. Depth is more apparent in pvp and this is a pvp/pve game.

All we need is the pve content to force you into using more skills like it used to. Before the lazy people whined it was too hard. And bosses have defenses against mindless zerging.

Yea you get skill choices that you won’t use. These games are all about min and max. If you don’t use a max skill. Then your probably just looking to be stylish. A example of that is say you have a lightning spell that does 800 damage and causes a chance to stun. And you have a fire spell that does 850 chance to burn.

And various other skills that roughly do the same damage. Odds are your going to do the highest unless your trying to look cute. What a lot of games did was take out the looking cute. Alot of choices don’t equal depth. Depth is the sum of all the parts of the game not just the skills. It wouldn’t matter how many skills we use if bosses and environment don’t care either way.

Now pvp if I string a combo together it has a effect on a human player. They will either give up panic run or do something defensive. If I do the same combo to a npc they won’t care same goes for a boss. So what i really think again needs to happen is the game needs to be harder and smarter. And throw everyone who whined about it in the beginning off a bridge.

Also don’t make me do a Aion video it’s really not that different from GW2. I still have a Gladiator there 55.I quit when they paid 2 win god armor I was done then.

Merry Christmas to all!

What did Tixx give you for Wintersday? Have you enjoyed this holiday event was it more kind to you than LS? I think the mode was definitely better overall. Not so much complaining well the collectors are. But Meh to that go grind some gold for gems lol….It’s not hard and boom buy whatever problem solved

The mini games still keep me entertained especially the sound chior game. I stayed up 2 nights ago raging trying to get perfects lol….To me the rewards could be a little better but definitely doesn’t suck. The dungeon although repetitive even on the last day makes me laugh. Because I love stomping and crushing all those buildings. So yay or nay did wintersday make you happy or sad?

There is nothing new about the combat in this MMO. Nothing innovative, and certainly nothing futuristic or groundbreaking that would influence other manufacturers of MMO’s to copy. Been there done that, thousands of times.

Though this MMO has the single most amount of skill exploits and bugs i have ever seen or “participated” in. I guess they win an award for that.

No one said it was new but wow shortened it’s skills in the same manner almost blatantly like GW2. If you look at combat in wow now it’s nothing like it was in cata days. And they can deny it all they like that was a direct effect and copying of GW2. Rift on the other hand did it more secretive. Rather than insta patch it in with the expansion. It slowly did it over the course of a month or two. So to the not paying attention eye you wouldn’t notice.

But someone like me who quit and came back I immediately noticed it. The jury is out on if its yay or nay. And our opinions don’t really matter sales and subs do. The same goes for this game. And fiscal wise this game is sitting nicely.

Well here’s a fact because people seems to compare this game to others. When guild wars came out the next expansion wow came with actually lowered the amount of skills you can have and use on the bars. Rift’s expansion actually did the same thing too. Showing that maybe Anet actually was on to something. If two of its biggest market share competitors copied it so blatantly.

http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/balancing-for-skill

Anyone who doesn’t think this game has depth should watch a stream of two high-level tPvP teams going at it, especially if you can hear their chat as well.

The problem isn’t the game’s depth, but the fact that it’s not really needed most of the game. Regular PvE content got nerfed between BWE2 and BWE3 — because people complained. Dungeons got nerfed within the first 2 weeks of release — again, because people complained. Most content can be completed with the First Order Optimal Strats (for those that didn’t watch the video – the “noob moves” like 100b and heartseeker) so people complain about lack of depth, when it’s really the devs having pitty on you poor souls.

Lack of progression has this unfortunate side effect of balancing content for the entire spectrum of the player base at all times. That makes it a bit harder to push out content where depth is not only present, but manditory — people complain about their inability to complete it (just look at the Holloween clocktower).

It would be nice to see combat complexity increase over time… the foundation is there. At only a few months since release though, people are still learning the system.

Everything He just said is absolutely true. Guys do a little experiment for me. Look at the people who complain post history. A actual doctor who plays mmo’s pointed this out to me last year. The same guys who complain one way also complain on the other side of things too. So I bet you will find the same people saying the game lacks depth also complained it was too hard a month ago.

People say guardians don’t have any choices yet I made 5 successful builds. It’s not always the game its sometimes the person playing the game.

As others have said GW2 has some depth, but there just isn’t a need for it. GW2 is extremely easy. You don’t have to think or do anything, just hit auto attack and go to sleep.

What brought it all home to me were the little dolls that popped from the presents. Suddenly I had to stay away and actually think a bit to beat them. Use a little strategy and turn off my autoattack. I enjoyed the challenge of them and was opening presents just to fight them.

But apparently the complaining masses spooked the devs because I haven’t seen them the last couple of days. The other mobs that pop are the autoattack while you sleep type.

There is no challenge to GW2 and frankly the game sucks because of it.

I saw the creepy dolls in WvW yesterday. They’re still here o.0

Hmm they better be coming up with something to fix stuff. Instead of hiding from the legit forum post.

But what happen is I hit 4 and cancelled (by mistake with JI) I chased after where he went and hit him in the air. So I said oh kitten wtf did I just do and quick button mashed 2 lol. Completely whiped him out by accident. My guildy who was with me in the game said dude HOW?

Ok so I settled on this build 0/15/30/20/5. Keeping the core of what I wanted in the build but increasing it’s power. The gear is pretty much what ever you want it to be. Don’t feel you gotta have berserker’s gear.

You can do whatever gear you like or feel comfortable with or can afford. The build is all about flexibility and making it your own as always. It’s not my build it’s yours and how you want to use it.

Another thing you can do is sanct/Line of warding/retreat. Make sure your not targeting anything behind you and GS leap. If your fortunate after that further get away with JI by targeting a enemy or mob in front of you. Even if its out of reach you will still take off towards it. Also don’t forget your aegis to asorb a hit.

As well as sceptor’s/focus 5 skill to asorb some more hits. Or do a smooth spin lock in place with sceptor and back around keep booking it.

LOL get your glass on! I rock the paladin build to carry pug people. Because I don’t have a one group I play with. Just people who know me from my channel or server. Sometimes we have various people who just can’t handle certain things. Or I have a completely random group. I like the ability to make up for mistakes by saving guys. Makes pugs less likely to fail.

Silentstorm.7531

You guys do realize most mmorpg’s you only use 5 buttons anyway. Take wow and rift for example. You may have 100 skills but you at the end of the day in fighting a boss. Only use on average 3-7 buttons if that. Only thing GW2 did was get rid of the useless skills. Say like If you had Lightning Bolt 1. Then when you hit max level you get Grand Lightning. Which is just Lightning Bolt 1 max level.

Don’t confuse depth with a over abundance a million buttons. I’ll give you another classic example. I play rift a cleric in the game. Rotation Bolt of Judgement,Vex, Sanction Heretic etc..The new max level came along BOJ was replaced with another bolt. Vex was replaced with another spells named scourge. What really happen there is the old skills got replace but you still have them. Which gives you a false thinking that you have a lot of choices. Almost every mmo is like that. Like I said GW2 is the first game not to smoke and mirrors it.
