Maybe game has different packets (bigger) that takes longer to process and other IPs maybe are say chat servers (you dont need such low latency there)

Yeah, I’m talking about that one IP which the same with my current server IP.
Why so huge difference: ~60 vs 70-110 ?

Whenever I play melee char I really really hate rangers spamming LB4 on timer.
And believe you me... if there are two rangers around at least one of them will use it. From safe range. Not being damaged by mob. Just to annoy all melee people at the mob.

So please THINK before using LB4.

I hate it at the every class I’m playing, even at ranger
And I really rare using it in PVE and only if I’m alone.

I’m pretty sure, this is not only dumb-rangers who uses knockbacks - nearly every class has it. Add here pulls and fear effect
Most of people just dumb, what we can do?

Retaliation is not up 24/7 like people insist except in the most organized of groups.

We are talking exactly about that, and pretty strange there is a lot of advices, related to 1-5vs1-5 fights only.
How many times we need to repeat, what retaliation is never a deal in some PUG fights (because lol-noob-randoms have no idea how to even create this effect), but always a huge pain in organized fights?
Also, you have no idea how it’s going when 2 or 3 blobs are fighting - all you can press is #1, becuse all going with extreme lags. Also, you just have NO time and possibility to track buffs/debuffs at the EVERY enemy or ally. That’s why this is always going like "use #1 for damage, use another 2 or 3 buttons to keep buffs/heal on allies"
It’s like at real war: noone checking every house before airstrike - they just bombing that place, because they know enemy are there.

I think you can try every class.
Rangers - are fairly weak in close quarters in zerk gear. (Sure there will be a lot, who will argue). Range DPS - main role. For cPVP use condi and be an half-melee
Necros - fits well for zerg runs (in zerk) and while roaming (as condi)
Elem - really "hard to PRO" class, but after that you will be just IMBA, but they need celestial gear for that. And use both daggers.
Warrior and Guardian - pretty straightforward tanky classes. They seems like strong classes and they are. Melee all the way.
Thief - pretty squishy if play like Warrior, but incredible strong if play him like Thief. Melee all the way for Zerk and half-melee for condi.
Engineer - strong as Zerk and even stronger as condi. Half-melee mostly.

I like ranger because this is only class, who using bow and using it like bowman, not just to occasionally bomb something.
But my most lovely is Engineer and I can say, this is true universal class in the game. Too bad Engis would never get a love from Anet

this guy has a point , sure you can count but if you are in a open field ? or you dont have your cooldowns ? you spend 2 dodges only to get close and after this if you dont have stability they just knock you back and rapid fire again(omg 8 secs cooldown what is this ?) , and then use invisible , when you think ‘oh they haven’t nothing anymore’ they just swap to a melee weapon and slash you in half , play as a popwer ranger is very easy atm , you can kill people just spamming 1 and 2 , rangers dont need more damage , they need more sinergy , teamplay skills and maybe aoe

Hm, okay, you are see ranger in the open field and start moving directly to him (moving by your legs), also wasting your energy on evades also as utility skills and elite, am I get you right?
And you are blaming rangers because you didn’t understand advantages of rangers and allow them to use it.

I hate it. Every time I find something interesting it is weak or not really that good to be competitive. The thing is that current meta = hambow, 2 engis, cele ele, necro(?). It depress me that bunker guard is worse than turret engi in holding a point. ‘Play what you want’ is correct, but you will never be ‘the best’ or at least better than celestial meta. I only wait for new changes, every new patch there is a small chance for balance.

Ranger is the kittentiest and easiest class in the game since they changed it. In a game where everything in PvP is about mobility… the thing they did with ranger has broken the combat. You can not fight a ranger in groups because;
1) approaching the ranger will take so long you will be halfway down by the time you can actually attack him.
2) getting away from ranger is impossible because the farther you get away from him the harder he hits; stealth does not work because the ranger just keeps shooting you even though you’re stealthed; there is no way to evade the shots other than dodging.

TLDR; WHY DID YOU MAKE RANGER A WALKING MACHINE GUN?

Rangers will be easy frag for every thief then. I can agree with that nerf if thieves will have 2 times less possibilites to go to stealth. Now they are nearly in perma stealth, so...

P.S. Thieves can steal from 1500 range with interrupt, so stop crying.

Because organized guild fights are not only “run in blob ololo”. This is something about teamwork – combos.

When I play my ranger with the guildies, my sole task is to take out specific targets insanely quickly, whilst maintaining a safe distance of the heavy melee fight.. Pure DPS role, combined with some nice shutdowns (shortbow #5, LB#4, Wolf’s Fear).

It’s not because you roam with a guild that you have to be in the front line of the fights..

Why ranger is useless in organized guild fights? What about meele ranger then?

Because organized guild fights are not only “run in blob ololo”. This is something about teamwork – combos. What ranger can give here to group? Water fields? Fire fields? Blasts? Extremely high survivability? Great AOE-buffs? For this fights meta is warriors and guardians. And well-necros sure. All other – go roaming
Do not even try to say about spirits – they are squishy and will be melted in seconds.

So, you are asking about cPvP or WvW? There is a some difference.
In WvW:
For roaming LB-zerk ranger is OK (just try to not fight in closed spaces and always use your main advantage - huge distance of attack)
for mapchat_pug_zerg_fights not so OK, but still viable (you can kill the same rangers, staff eles etc from sides of blob)
for organized guild zerg fights - useless (you would never even hurt anyone and will be just steamrolled in seconds).

In cPvP:
Not bad if you are in condi build and can play it right. But I’m not too familiar with that game-mode, so can’t say too much here

Also, there is enough same "roaming" vids at YT from another classes: got rekt by shatter in 2 seconds, got rekt by turret blast in 2 seconds, got rekt by Backstab in 1 seconds, got rekt by GS/Axce warrior in 2 seconds.
Seems like elems and necros only can’t rekt someone in 2-3 seconds

It seems like a stupid bug.
Trap landed - you got stealth+speed
Trap hits someone - you loose stealth because trap’s (space here) hit counted as your own hit.

Hi there!
I would like to see some special panel with cooldowns for weapon runes, armor sigils and my spec traits which has a cooldown
It can be placed under F1-F4 bar. It can looks like little pics of sigil, rune or trait with timer and with mousover info equals to corresponding rune, sigil or trait.
I think it would be nice to really know what you have on cooldown now and when it will be expired.
Also it can be optional – for someone, who prefer don’t know about this

I’m pretty sure, what game client has this info and also check it with server, so all Anet left to do – add visualization to this.

And in the whole game, how many times did you see that compared to group retaliation? 1000-1? I have never ever seen aoe confusion and I play since the beta weekends.

If you had played since beta, then you’d know that “confusion bombing” with mesmer glamours was a pretty common tactic back in 2012 and early 2013. Infact, it got so out of hand, that they had to nerf confusion in WvW, hence it is not used much these days.

Never seen it, but could be because I played on lowest of tier back in the beginning.

There was alot of issues, not jsut the confusion bombing back then. lol

I mean, we had no more than 12-14 and could take out very large grps w/ Confusion + Rendering. lol

And? Where is damage from Confusion? Also, all I seen there is unlimited procs of Chaos armor and it was fixed.
Also, killing lol-PUGs never was a problem, and retaliation is not a problem here too.

Dunno who is this, just found it occasionally.
Just check how long time he have buffs (and Retaliation sure) and how long he have conditions. Also check this at his targets, when he have target selected – most of time he didn’t.
I’ve found, what there is 100% uptime of main buffs and ~70% of Retaliation. And something like 15% of conditions uptime.

This is a true face of humanity, mate.
There is a tons of examples from WvW:
Pack dolyaks, they are pretty squishy, ok, you got 1 hit on him, allow another ally to do the same. NO WAY! I’ll do my best to kill this dolly as fast as I only can to not allow other allies to benefit from “Kill dolly” event.
Guards: everyone want his stacks (Guard defender and Guard killer passives), calm down, let another allies to make even 1 hit on them. NO WAY!
Etc.

Try 5 stacks of confusion from a mesmer with 2k condi dmg.

Tried it many times. I’m just not using anything while it exists – it will be purged in 2-3 seconds anyway.
I’ve posted a vid in my thread with zerg fights, and anyone able to clearly see, what comparison of retal with conditions are NOT relevant, not even close.

And no, necros are not specific to your server, but we’re giving you advice on how to counter retaliation. You don’t need to have something exclusive for retaliation targeting for it to work.

Am I need to repeat a link to video from THIS thread with good zerg fights or not? Or you can search similar vids by yourself and, maybe, you will able to understand where are you wrong…

There is no way to apply confusion to multiply people. Basically, there is no AOE-confusion.
Also, you can cleanse confusion from yourself easily but you can’t cleanse retaliation from the entire enemy zerg.

Yeah, shatter, but… but no any illusions will live long enough in zerg. In good zerg sure, not just “hello we are rangers-randoms!”

Quite simple. In your post you posit to limit the damage from attacking multiple times per second to triggering retal once per second, regardless of the number of attacks or targets you’re hitting.

Since I can attack many many times per second using my various classes, I would also like to limit the number of times confusion can damage me per second to 1. Make that change and I’ll give you your damage from retal once per sec.

No, it doesn’t, and it’s also not skills per second, it’s attacks per second. Whirling Wrath? 7x confusion damage. Hundred blades? 12×. Etc, etc. I’m telling you that I want something, you’re telling me that you want something, they are obviously not the same (confusion != retaliation) but I don’t care. I’m merely stating a point: you want to limit damage from retal to once per second across all targets? I think that’s pure insanity. So, my compromise is to limit confusion damage to once per second and we’re even.

100 baldes = 12x hits of Confusion? Wow!

Anyway, I want to limit Retaliation to once per second for THE SAME target, not overall – how many times I need repeat this?

Ping to adress different from client latency?

Ok, I’ve found some strange thing.
I was at WvW border with IP-address 206.127.159.153 (EU Seafarer’s rest borderland).
And I decided to ping this address in cmd.exe. There was pretty stable 59-60ms ping, tried it many times - always the same 59-60, with zero packet loss.
But I was sure my ping is more than that!
And I checked my Resourse monitor and TCP-connections of the gw2.exe. There was 3 connections (all with remote port 6112):
64.25.47.117 ping 260 (pretty stable)
206.127.146.74 ping 250-260 (pretty stable too)
206.127.159.153 ping 70-110 (constantly jumping, but mostly at 90)
Out of WvW situation the same, but with different server’s IPs

So, why so huge difference between direct ping and client latency? What you can suggest to lower my client latency?
The game and OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) installed at SSD if it helps.

Hi there
I’ve noticed, what if you are out of range of "Steal" it wouldn’t teleport you closer to target - you will be at the same place and steal will go on 5 sec cooldown
But, it goes in the other way with "Infiltrator’s Strike" (sword #2) - it WILL teleport you closer to target.

So, I think, "Steal" is bugged there, please fix this: let’s "Steal" will work in the same way.
Why I think "Steal" is bugged? Because another teleport skills works like "Infiltrator’s Strike": i.e. Guardian’s "Judge’s Intervention".

Or remove this teleportation from all teleport skills if target are out of range this skills.

Some attacks will damage 1 target (max 400 retal) scepter/axe autoattacks
Some attacks will damage 2 targets (max 800 retal) thieve/necro daggers 180 melee
some attacks will damage 3 targets (max 1200 retal) swords/fireballs
Some attacks will damage 5 targets (2000 retal) marks
a few attacks hit 10-15 targets (4000-6000 retal) grenades….

looking over time:
Lava font can hit 5 procs * 5 targets 25 (10000 retal)
Symbols can hit 6 procs* 5 targets… 30 (12000 retal)
Wells can hit 7 procs * 5 targets 35 targets (14000 retal)
Rapid fire 10 procs with piercing arrows can hit up to 50 targets, (20000 retal)
Meteor shower 24 meteors with 3 hits each can hit up to 72 targets. (28800 retal)…
5 times a grenade skill will hit a max of 75 targets (30000 retal)…

Yes when you’re commited you are commited…. I cannot stop my Meteor shower, same as you cannot stop the grenades flying, I however have a nice telegraph lasting 3.5 seconds… Symbols and blass will always be there and it should not be changed, imagine the ele meta…. 20 ele’s on the wall and NOTHING you can o to stop it…. it will be Tha Age Of Armageddon…

Still If I’m right grenades can be reflected as well… so your friendly zerg will take some more walls of reflection, or the mesmer reflect, You can say well I can see them better, in which cas I’d say a target will show you a general idea of boons.

So, once per second for same target, OK.

I’ve tried this maybe 1,5 years ago. There is no way to apply stable AOE-confusion against guild zergs. You can argue, sure, but it will only show, what you never seen and/or took part in such fights.

Anyway, they need to remake stacking system for conditions
If player have more than 1400+ condition damage – his conditions must have highest priority.
For example, Bleed. If target already have 25 bleed stacks and recieving new stack: if from true conditioner – it will be placed instead of stack from another player. If player not conditioner – his new bleed stack will be ignored and no placed.
Burning. New stack of Burning from high condi player will be placed at first place in the burning ticks queue and will tick 1st. New stacks of burning from low condi players will be placed to the end of queue

Just to remember my suggestion. I think it will be the best way to fix condi specs in PvE.
Cos now it’s pretty stupid, now it’s like the “every monster can receive only 25 hits of direct damage per second”
