Condition builds usually also depend on a significant amount of their damage from conditions applied by critical hits, so precision actually does matter.
Not all classes or specs. I.e. thieves doesn’t care of power or precision in condi builds.
Before that (long time ago) we have Omnomberry food, with 66% on crit to steal health.
And it was without cooldown. So, you was able to high up your crit rate and steal health nearly every 2nd hit and it was a huge compensation against retaliation. Not 100% but really huge.
But then they fixed that food and it has 2 sec cooldown. But they are not fixed Retaliation!
Give us our heal-on-hit food back! That trait “heal if kit equipped” or 150 HP/sec this is just a spit on the face!Or remove AOE-Retaliation from combo-effects.
It has a 1 second cooldown. The reason why is that spammable skills that hit dozens of times per second, or for example engie FT, you could keep yourself at full health permanently. Working as intended.
Before it was 2 sec. Anyway, 1 sec cooldown – too many. Because Retaliation do NOT have any cooldowns and with #1 of FT or with any of grenade kit skills you are literally killing yourself in a few seconds.
“working as intended” was before, when Omnomberry food was without cooldowns. Even in this case you wasn’t “at full HP”. Your crit.rate somewhere at 70-80%, also food has a 66% chance to steal life. Basically, there is every 2nd hit with life steal.
Retaliation hits you at the EVERY hit: crit or not, or even glanced – doesn’t matter.
So, there is a few options to fix retaliation:
1. Internal cooldown 1 sec for the same target. This will be best solution.
2. Retaliation will be affected by overall armor and buffs (Protection and anything else)
3. Retaliation will be scaled from Condition damage, not from Power
4. Retaliation will return 10% of incoming damage (after armor and damage reduction buffs), not fix value.
5. Remove AOE-Retaliation (and/or Light aura) from Light field+Blast finisher combo. This combo will give now Protection. AOE retaliation will still exist on skills only.
What you prefer?
There is no way to apply confusion to multiply people. Basically, there is no AOE-confusion.
Also, you can cleanse confusion from yourself easily but you can’t cleanse retaliation from the entire enemy zerg.

Really the low HP is the main problem with thieves…not too many classes get accidentally killed but thieves do all the time. Is fun to shoot thieves with my warrior and watch them go from full to dead in one shot.

Lol. 50% in one second? Try downed instantly From 100% after a magnet pull from a power engi. When I can do that from stealth or in the first seconds of a fight, let me know.
You can avoid magnet pull – it has 1 sec casttime and pretty visible “magnet” lines to you.
You never avoid Shadowstep+CnD+Steal+BS combo, because it instant and has 2 times bigger range.

Thief in it’s current state is such kitten it’s not worth playing unless your only purpose is to troll people with P/D or decap. It’s really annoying when you have such a large majority of players complain about a noob stomp class while ignoring the glaringly OP classes even the most seasoned players have trouble against (I’m looking at you, condition engi, PU mesmer and celery ele).
Sure, hit someone for 50% HP in 1st second of fight and then going to stealth – this is so poor, wondering why someone still playing Thieves?!

Thieves ARE squishy, they make up for it with big damage. There are cheese builds on every class and you’re never going to win every fight. Accept that maybe some thieves are actually capable of outplaying you, not because they’re OP or omg invis4eva noobs. Jeez, why can’t people lose with some dignity these days.

You do realize they want people to buy the 25 use Upgrade Extractor, right? Granted, that only reduces the price per use from 250 to 200, but that’s the intention.

In comparison with Engineers, Guardians do not have any problems with Retaliation.
So, as it stated, at the EU megaserver this temple is bugged. I’m pretty sure in this.

At this stage there must be event “Prevent risen from retaking the temple” but it is not starting. 2 days in the row nothing happening: no any risens around – elementals only.

The extractor is only supposed to be used on items which you cannot salvage.
And as you note, that means gear bought with Karma or Ascended/Legendary gear. The former case (karma armor) has been pretty much made moot due to the Wardrobe and Soldier’s gear being available outside of karma/dungeons.
As for Ascended: It’s the freaking endgame gear, you’re not supposed to be swapping stuff in and out.

WvW can give a fun to everyone: if you have a lot of friends (or big WvW-guild) you can get a lot of interesting sieges every day.
If you are soloer, so you can just a roam and get a lot of interesting 1vs1/2/3 fights every day too.
But, in the WvW more from sandbox and less – from teampark. There is no alarms, like “go there, do this and you’ll get a fun!”. Not, you need to lurk enemies, decide for yourself what to do, attack someone or not, etc.
Also, you need to change your gear and or spec, based on your preferably activity, optimizing yourself (!) in the fights with the live enemies, not with dumb monsters.
I would like to see possibility to separate tabs
For example: main tab for common chat and a separate - for combat.

As it’s stated, price of this item is incredible high. But not “just high”, but high in comparison with profit what it can give to me.
Ok, I’ll explain.
This item price is 250 gems. I can exchange 28-30 gold for 250 gems. Or, if I’m buying gems directly, I can sell my 250 gems for 48-50 gold. (All just checked in current exchange values)
Also, what a reason to use Upgrade extractor? If I want to save my item and upgrades both. Or if I want to extract upgrades from some kind “unsalvagable” items, like karma items, etc.
What is most expensive items? Legendaries sure. But, if I want to swap upgrades I can just install new, so previous will be lost.
What is most expensive upgrades?
Weapon sigils: Generosity (80+ gold), Karka Slaying (28+ gold) and Bursting (15+ gold)
Armor runes: Exuberance (13+ gold)
Infusions: +14 per 928 gold, +13 per 450 gold, +12 per 200 gold and so on
As we can see, there is only 2 upgrades what is worth to buy Upgrade extractor for weapons, absolutely not worth for armor and has a huge profit to extract infusions. But, so big agony resistance usually installed in the special PVE-gear, so I’m doubt it will be need to extract some when.
So, there is nearly no profits from buying Upgrade Extracor. If you will lower it’s price – you’ll get a far more sales of this item.
I’ll suggest the new price of 100 or even 50 gems for extractor.

Dunno who is this, just found it yesterday occasionally.
Just check how long time he have buffs (and Retaliation sure) and how long he have conditions. Also check this at his targets, when he have target selected - most of time he didn’t.
I’ve found, what there is 100% uptime of main buffs and ~70% of Retaliation. And something like 15% of conditions uptime.

Also, when you are saying about "just stop attack" - you are probably never played grenadier in zergs.
Most of the time Engis are at 1000 and more range from main impact site, and due to grenades fly speed it can be up to 3 packs of grenades in the air simultaneously.
So, when I’ll being hit by retaliation in the 1st time - 3 more omg-hits are still on the way and ifs it wouldn’t kill me but leave me with lol-HP.

Boon stripping still is very important and general practise in WvW, to remove stability, protection and retaliation… Necro’s and Mesmers are there for your zergs boon stripping. Well of Suffering, Null field and Sigil of purity would be very beneficial
Good blobs has 100% uptime nearly of all buffs. And yes, Necros are not something specific for only one server – another side has it too. So stop trashtalking about strip boons: it is has 100% uptime.
In 1vs1 situation – yes, it can be visible and avoidable or strippable
When facing just dumb zerg – it’s not a problem too, coz they have no idea about AOE-buffing
Also, about your examples: they are laughtable
WHO will stay in the MS? It is static, low fire rate and pretty predictable. Noone in his mind will stay in the MS AOE field just to kill 1 Elem. Also elems has a tons of selfheal. And damage of MS not instant or semi-instant.
Rangers with Piercing arrow trait? Never seen one: they all prefer X and XIII traits. (If someone not – lol). And ranger who attacking Zerg – seriously? At what server? Wanna come to see that!
Engineers are moving AOE-machine: enemies cannot avoid his damage very well, and it’s not predictable. And not too big. Also, Engi has a very bad times to selfheal, bcs all Retaliation damage coming up in the same moment. It cannot be compared with any another class.
And Engi cannot just stop attacking when Retaliation starts coming: bcs enemies zerg will steamroll him and his allies zerg. Also when Retal will sart coming he is already will lost a half of HP, because of number of attacks and it’s timing.
So stop please this lol-examples with Elems or Rangers – they are not even close to Engineer’s troubles with retaliation.

blobs have stability, speed, might, protection and retaliation 100% of time. What I need to do? Do not attack them? Or roll "successful" classes such as warriors and guardians?

This army of PVT warriors and guardians are profitable only because they are hitting pretty rare but hard for every hit.
Multi-hit specs bringing the same damage, but with much more hits. Basically, we are doing the same work but with different ways.
Until our enemies pops Retaliation.
So, let everyone will suffer in the same way from Retaliation. Until that - this is discrimination.
Also, to make it absolutely fair, they can remake it: damage of Retaliation will return some % of initial incoming damage.
Because now it pretty stupid: you hitting someone for 100 damage and receiving back 400? And someone who hitting for 9k and more damage will receive back 400 too?
So, let it will return, i.e. 20% of damage.
You hit someone for 100? Ok, take back 20 damage
You crit someone for 10k? No offense boy, but this is your 2k back.
And in this case they can don’t do anything else: no once per sec, nor condition damage etc.

Before that I was able to complete daily just by doing my usual stuff in the any part of the game. Now I need to do something special: go to another zones, lurking for some special events or monsters, etc. Boring.
Anyway, they need to remake stacking system for conditions
If player have more than 1400+ condition damage - his conditions must have highest priority.
For example, Bleed. If target already have 25 bleed stacks and recieving new stack: if from true conditioner - it will be placed instead of stack from another player. If player not conditioner - his new bleed stack will be ignored and no placed.
Burning. New stack of Burning from high condi player will be placed at first place in the burning ticks queue and will tick 1st. New stacks of burning from low condi players will be placed in to the end of queue
This Zerker meta has to end. It has killed the diversity too long. This game has such a unique build system, and you should truly be able to play how you want. However, unless you have a pre made, then people will kick you. Start building your toon the way you want to!

Dragon’s Tooth has a crazy long prehit time
Heartseeker: instant, ranged, homing, spammable skill

But this zones are pretty harder than another but rewards are not bigger than in Orr
Also, I’m pretty sure Zerk is only viable option and this is right thing. And if in some part of the game Zerk is not good - this part must be changed to make Zerk viable
