When I was soloing AC earlier with (almost) no buffs other than food, damage seemed to be around 30-40% lower than before. Not sure how much this will impact full groups either (is the stat cap still there and just raised, or is the downscaling too harsh to reach it? How are +stat trait effects treated by this now?), but I guess we’ll see after reset.
Welp, no chance to increase bomb radius beyond 180 basically kills a lot of the builds I had in mind. Meanwhile, grenades actually got better because of the velocity/radius trait.

It would be pretty kitten nice combo’d with gadgeteer and no extra gadgets, free Overcharged Shot break or stunbreak + fury every 20s when you’re not fighting a thief or engi or war. I don’t think it’d be worth giving up Kinetic Charge for though, unless you’re using it as your only stunbreak which I wouldn’t recommend.
Double Supply Drop basically guarantees a won 1v1. You can put 10k heals down on the ground shortly after engaging a 1v1, or use them to save an ally and turn a lost 1v2 into a won 2v2. I could see some people running a troll 5 engi comp and abusing the hell out of this. I’m thinking this one will definitely be nerfed or changed soon.
Or better yet, let us select 3 different (or same) stat combinations to decide our stats. Amulet, ring, earring, each deciding 33% of our stats. Suddenly a lot more builds will become viable.

Funny. On the first page of this thread balance was ruined (THOUSANDS of players deleted their engis!), cause they couldn’t perma 33% anymore. Now seeing it rebuffed, the difference doesn’t matter that much anymore? Oh, the irony :P

I was looking through Streamlined Kits and the effective loss of swiftness uptime there was an unintended consequence of Kit Refinement being packed together with Speedy Kits. I’ve gone ahead and changed the swiftness from Streamlined Kits to a 20s duration.

Will Engineer’s Launch Personal Battering Ram be fixed with this update? The daze portion of the skill that was ‘added’ a while back does nothing currently. Static Discharge would be a bit more viable if it worked.
They should’ve just given the godkitten character slot to everyone who already owns GW2 – The slot is about 10€ value and so is the base game after countless of times where it was on sale for as cheap as 10€.

Very slowly for me. 1.5-3 mins for page load, and like 3-4 mins to post something. Not that the forum being broken is anything new or surprising.
My issue is I feel like I’m missing out by not using the code for a new account. Expansion + 5 char slots > expansion + 0 char slots. But then I’d have to move stuff around and work a new account up, do full map complete, etc, etc. Ugh.
So engi gets a trait that will reveal a stealthed enemy when you hit them. Wonder if it’ll work on Mossy and Bloody Victoria.

Cooldown increased to 30s, and now applies 10 stacks of vuln to you for 4s when it ends. Not sure why they felt the need to nerf the only good heal necro had, when it’s ridiculously interruptible already.

Mortar Kit KR proc is a pile of gunk. Like, the one that thieves steal from engineers. It applies random condis and acts as an ethereal field. Source: livestream.
Right now, you can unlock everything on your character in 1 of 2 ways: trait hunting (mostly in open world PvE) or spending skill points and gold. This is nice because even if you don’t enjoy trait hunting, you can still unlock everything for your characters without going far out of your way through method 2, because almost everything in the game awards skillpoints and gold.
Play only dungeons? Skillpoints and gold. PvP? Skillpoints and gold. WvW? Skillpoints and gold. Fractals? Skillpoints and gold. Spend all your time playing Sanctum Sprint? Skillpoints and kittening gold. If you do anything besides AFK in LA all day you’re going to end up with enough skillpoints and gold to fully unlock your character. And that’s a good thing.
After these changes, if you want to fully unlock your characters, you’ll have the choice of either doing hero challenges in open world, or… doing hero challenges in open world. I really don’t understand how you guys can’t see that this is a huge kittening step backwards. Forcing players to do content they don’t like to unlock skills and traits that are used everywhere is a very bad thing, and certainly not fun.
While we’re at it, can we get HP %s displayed, so we know when our trait/rune procs are going to happen?

Haven’t seen such an outrage over the inability to dress up one’s own character as a playboy bunny for a long time. Not since the Elin got their panties covered up in the western version of Tera.
It makes more sense when you realize the real endgame for GW2 is fashion.
It’s even more fun when you use Bomb Kit’s Kit Refinement proc to group mobs together in the absence of a guard/mesmer. Everyone’s like “wtf, since when does engi have AoE pulls?”

Rifle hybrid will remain meta. No idea about the amulet, it’ll depend on just how ANet handles the amulet issue. It won’t be pure grenades, though. Bombs are going to be OP as hell with how much might you can stack easily through dodge/heal blasts, all of which will heal you as well.
Condi stuff could either be really strong or really weak depending on how the rework goes, and we have no idea what (both new and old) condi traits/skills will look like after it. Personally I’m leaning towards weak, but again, no idea what ANet will do there.
The spec calculator~ on dulfy’s site has the traits as shown on the livestream. In addition to that, Consecrated Ground, Elite Focus, and the +50% spirit weapon duration traits are all becoming baseline. So yes, double wall will be gone, but oneshot won’t, and guardians will have to deal with weird diagonal walls and screwy positioning like engis currently do. Of course, all of this is subject to change.

Speedy Kits. Pretty much every successful engineer build ever takes it. Not having to put 2 into tools to get it opens quite a few more build choices.
It’s +50% effectiveness for fury, meaning 20% * 1.5 = 30% crit chance from it, not 50%.
Can confirm, have muted game sound permanently because of these.

Many hundreds of times. I get stunned sometimes if I’m watching other mobs, then I kill them. Otherwise, I just kill them.
I meant the ones from Arah, which use 30 second channels which stun you every half a second or so, and come in pairs with their friends the deadeyes which will oneshot you if you’re unable to dodge.

So I heard you guys liked Elite Inquest Technicians.
I am not happy with the PvE gear system. If I had my way, all PvE gear would be of the same strength with selectable stats that can be saved and switched at any time. There would be no time spent grinding for stronger gear, and gear progression would solely be cosmetic. Everyone would be on a level playing field. It’ll never happen, though.
Honestly, I just don’t like that he uses a ranged projectile autoattack against players in melee range. He should be using one of his more powerful (and more telegraphed) melee attacks instead.
