You mean this problem? I’m getting it too now, after the most recent patch.

Since your last ‘repair patch’ this has been happening. I can log in without problems, but the character screen doesn’t display my characters, just a black screen and the background icons without the characters. Music plays as normal. pressing “enter” logs me into the default character without issue.

I have sat on the page thinking it might have been slow net or just a slow load time. But this image stays the same whether I give it 5 mins or 30mins to load. It’s simply refusing to show my characters.

ah so there is a fix, thank goodness. I was really upset about this as my bank is already full of these boosters and other items. I didn’t have room to make second stacks of everything

I was getting 60+ FPS before with maxed settings.
Now after this patch I get 10-20 FPS. Changing the settings from high to low makes no difference to FPS but oddly hiding the UI makes it a little more bearable.

I can’t WVW or PVP or even do a dungeon. I can’t even map explore in an empty map without the fps giving me a headache. I want to keep playing this game but difficult when it makes me ill. Please fix the fps issues.

My female asura keeps randomly spitting out male norn and male human sound bytes. My female charr is spitting out random male norn and male and female human sound bytes. This is incredibly annoying. Please fix.

Yea… as much as I love the other racial voices and stuff… My female Charr should not be saying the human sound bytes nor should she sound like a male norn …. >.>
It’s also kinda perverse hearing my female Asura randomly say “somebody help me.” in a male voice while she’s running from point a to point b.

Thank you for everyone’s Helpful advise. After speaking to so many people about the different servers I’ve got my list down to FA, HoD and NSP.
If any of you have more information to share about these three servers I’ve got a few more important questions to ask. If you don’t feel comfortable posting answers here you can feel free to mail me ingame.

1. What is your oceanic like in wvw? 5 people? 10? 20? 20+? And do they speak english? (I usually command the bridge time between NA and Oceanic but can go late into Oceanic if there are people) Do these people like to focus on defense or ppt?
2. Is there room for a pug commander in these these time slots during the week? At least once a week would be minimum.
3. Do you have regular server meetings with commanders and guild leaders to address issues or devise new tactics? (just a yes or no, don’t need details)
4. What are your strongest points? and what might need work? (honesty please, I want to know what I’m stepping into and might have strats to help some issues that I have previous experience with.)

Again. If you don’t feel comfortable posting on here, mail me ingame. I hold the information all in confidence. I am just looking to make an educated decision on where I’ll fit best and be of most use.

Looking for a friendly social atmosphere but one that takes a more serious approach to WvWvW.
I main a mesmer but have 80’s of all professions and all geared in exotics or above. I am willing to learn new tactics and open to new build ideas especially with my melee classes. My mesmer, necro and ranger are my strongest professions. Warrior and thief are my weakest. I am constantly looking to improve.
I have been a player since the very beginning of GW2. I’m open to pve, pvp and other activities but would like to focus on wvwvw. I commanded for the first year of gw2 on Darkhaven. I later left and went to Gate of Madness, learning their tactics and builds and improving my own play and commanding styles. I then returned to Darkhaven to find it worse then when I left it and am seeking to find a less chaotic server.

Darkhaven’s commanders often tell us to target their commander, but alot of the time it only worked against GoM. Once the com was dead they’d spread out and were easily killed.
Against nearly every other server we’ve tried this on, this has not worked.

In my experience though, it depends on the server and how they’re used to being led. Most seem pretty competent without their commander. Some need to have their hand held during a fight. I am curious though if it’s maybe because of ts or mumble or vent that these other servers seem more successful, as they may still be commanding while they are dead and giving their zerg direction through voice command.

all a ranger has to do to be effective is stand at 1500 range (if spec’d), not move, and snooze on the 1 key (while occasionally rolling their face onto the 2 key).

I play a ranger and I love you for this. This is what I do. And when it gets boring I jump onto my shatter mesmer. =)
Ranger is alot of fun but there is no skill involved in playing it.

Also, I don’t have a lot of problems with condi’s but I often run a roaming 4-5man. But I would like to see the tower/keep portals wipe condi’s when you use them. That would be nice. I mean your safe in the tower/keep but the condi’s can still kill you. And there’s enough scummy people in wvw that won’t res you even if you’re lying at their feet.

One thing you can do is the /sleep emote to hide your character from view for screenshots. Certain tonics and toys hide your character very well also.

XD this is what I do to take screenshots without my toon.
Also vistas can make nice screen shots without your character and are usually pretty breathtaking.

That would be amazing. I have so many dyes. I would love to know which ones I am missing.

mesmer – greatsword knockback (skill 5) is also not working 50% even whent he enemy has no stability or retaliation. Works on npcs but with players in pvp or wvw it’s a 50% chance it will work or not. Have submitted various bug reports about it and talked to other mesmers experiencing the same problem.
Ranger – pets still not very responsive to any commands….. have not noticed any difference after they were ‘fixed’.

I do alot of wvw and some eotm. All i get is maybe 1 exotic a month and maybe 2 rares a day and i got my first ascended chest a month ago and nothing ascended since. My magic find is at 150+ and i miss my magic find gear terribly. I do believe my magic find gear set was more successful then what ever this new system is. I have over 150 magic find and have not noticed a difference in drop rates as it’s been increasing.
I do hope that one day this gets fixes.

Ok so I went and bought the tier 1 medium armor for my Charr ranger cause I thought it looked pretty cool.
Little did I know I would be bolting my helmet to my Charr’s skull. >.>
While taking screen shots of my new look, I noticed two bolts on either side of the helm holding it in place…. FOREVER.
Though she doesn’t seem to be experiencing any pain, should this be labeled under animal cruelty? and if so, should I sacrifice the awesome looking helm for something more humane… if I can ever take it off my Charr that is. And if I can pry it loose, will it cause any harm to my precious Charr? Will she need specialist treatment to heal her horns? And if such treatment is necessary, are there any healer specialized Elementalists willing to volunteer?

the less populated servers struggle enough when it comes to wvw and now we can’t even recruit in LA for more players. Please Anet if you are reading this, I love the megaservers but we NEED a server chat. Or at the very least take lions arch out of the megaserver.

I am one of the many people having disconnection problems since your Queens Pavilion patches. Scarlet living story came and my lag got increasingly worse. Now with the adventures box coming back I can’t seem to stay connected in wvw for longer then 10 mins.
I am aware that you recently increased the size of your living story team. Can i suggest you throw over half of them into you Tech support/optimization and actually fix the current problems with your game before you bring out more living story.

I have been a player since Beta/pre-launch and have been able to run the game on the highest settings with out any previous problems. I have re-installed the game 3 times and these issues have not been resolved that simply.

Note: the error code I keep receiving is (code=7:11:3:191:101)

Edited: The effect is awesome, needs to be applied to all swords.

I personally hate TS and refuse to use it. In my experience no one can ever hear the commander anyway and the TS is usually full of trolls and mindless chatter.
I would like the chat restriction ingame to be lessened so commanders can communicate properly through the game instead of having to go to outside sources like TS and vent.
That being said, I love the commander tag idea. /bump

I commanded a small 5-10man group tonight on my elementalist, Assana Stormcloud. XD
We took camps and towers in EB area and generally defended from SBI. The people following me asked me if I had a tag I could put up. I told them that I was saving for it and that I wasn’t far off getting it. Guess what they did?! A few of them sent me some gold! <3 They said they want to see me with a commander tag soon.
So, after most of them logged off I went back to LA and raided the crap out of my bank and collectibles and sold all my junk and pretty much anything else I could find.
Thanks to the inspiring people in EB tonight I am now the proud owner of my own commander tag!!!

My daggers do it too. Even though they’re different, when wielded they are the same length but stowing them makes my main hand shrink.

I am unable to claim at all no matter how long I wait there. I have left a tower and come back 20mins later to claim but am still unable.

It’s not been finished yet.

I will try to explain this as best as I am able so as to get a good answer.
The picture I am adding with this post is the message I receive whenever I try to claim a tower/keep/camp in wvwvw. I have tried on all the maps but the message is the same. I have relogged, reset, and tried on different toons to no avail.
The guild I am in HAS given my rank permission to claim.
Some of my guild mates are also having this problem where others are not, these people are of varying ranks and ranks do not seem to effect this ‘bug’.
I have talked to some other wvwvw player’s but am yet to find anyone outside our guild that is having this problem.
I have asked a guild leader to reset the permissions but this has not solved the problem.
I left and rejoined the guild, but it did not solve the problem.
I would like a response as to how to fix this asap as our guild has many useful buffs for wvw players.

I would like to add that I have a personal guild (just an extra bank really) with nothing unlocked/upgraded and when I represent it I am able to claim as per usual.
This bug only happens when I am in my main guild.

Also this has only occurred since the sky pirates arrived. I am wondering if one of the patches has maybe broken or corrupted a file. But as it seems to effect only some guild members I am unsure.

Hi, I just got my ranger (Aralorna) to level 80 and am needing alot of advice on gearing and such.
I previously didn’t have a guild as I was fine going about the world on my own.
I would like to find a mature guild that is interested in wvwvw and dungeons.
I have experiance in wvwvw but have only done AC and CM storymode.
I am only interested in a guild that is active and fairly serious.
