Current characters: Mistress Viridi (Elementalist), Pigeon Opener (Engineer).
3DS Friend Code: 0903-2770-3378. Mail me in-game if you add me!
With nerfed or no rewards, of course.
Basically, you pick part of the story you already did (from the hero panel) and have a choice to repeat it.
Why would anyone do this? Well, I can think of a few examples..
- People who want to edit the GW2 Wiki for parts they’ve already finished.
- People who want to show their friends part of the story they’ve finished.
- People who otherwise want to test something or take screenshots of parts they’ve finished.
- Tybalt <3
The option wouldn’t really hurt anyone, and I doubt it’s hard to implement.
Or they could make it like WoW, where you can’t kick people in combat, or for a while after combat.
Wait.. there are readable books in SAB?
Eh, I don’t really agree with it. Yes, maybe it’s not intended, but how does that make it an exploit?
Other than my friend and I, we found 2 non-protestors on Ring of Fire to join us… and they don’t know about this thread. :S

Someone drop me a message when people actually want to do this.

I haven’t found any people, either… I knew this was going to happen.
So when are we starting? I got a few people on my friends list to look at this thread and hopefully join. (EU player here)
So no one’s making a guild? :X
Well, I’d rather be able to use both… looks like zerker is the way to go, as usual. grumble
So if I want to use both (as in, one at a time, depending on the fight) I should use zerker gear? I’d rather not use two sets…
Well, I’m gonna ask again since this didn’t get many responses..
Is rampager gear good enough for bombs and grenades?
I’ll ask anything else based on that.
I like calling Trahearne Caeser, makes sense on so many levels…
I call him Treesus, personally.
As for the OP, I agree. Tybalt’s “deviation” from the stereotype (while still being Charr-like in a subtle way) is one of the things that made me fall in love with him. (other than being easy on the eyes)
Also, regarding the continuity, it seems that it’s… half-done. There are a lot of places where it feels like characters in later parts are affected by what happened before, but not always. It’s especially bad with Charr. (see another thread about problems with the Charr PS)
I dislike this for one simple reason: Having one profession at level 80 does not amount to anything for the other professions.
Just because I have 800 hours in my Warrior doesn’t mean I would be any good on a Guardian. Even more ridiculously, how about I go from 200 hours on Thief to 0 on Engineer/Ranger?
Leveling by crafting, or leeching dungeons, aren’t different, yet those are still in the game.
@Stormie: TOO BAD MY RANGER IS GONE. Now you have a grey charr instead of a brown charr, though. <3
Anyway, this one’s more cute than anything. This is me trying out the infinite cat tonic.
(edited by Snack.9315)
I would rather not used grenades – too mainstream and boring. How much am I missing out by excluding grenades? Just wondering.
Also, what gear should I go for? I’m thinking rampager since it’s sort of a middle ground between berserker and rabid gear, and it’s easy to get. (CoF and AC) I assume using weapons with the Giver prefix would be preferable. I missed the event, but I have slaves to arrange that. (at least until they add that to ascended gear)
I don’t mind giving everything a try. I already have a level 80 engineer, but I’m leveling a new one (different race) so I can give the class another chance. It’s the only one I enjoy, besides elementalist. Sorry for making so many threads. <3
The structure is so messed up in that sentence I’m starting to doubt it’s real. As it stands, it’s hard to understand.
Add the ability to add a one-liner note next to each tag on the map on mouseover, and that sounds really useful.
I name my salamander drake “Charrmander” (can you guess my ranger’s race?!), and my eagle “L O L Murica”.
I occasionally use a jaguar and name it “Nerf Me Sideways”, or an alpine wolf named “Okami.”
First, was that really confirmed?
Second, that doesn’t really explain how it works with lots of players. (or 5)
Third, there’s already a thread for the “patch notes.”
Actually, rangers have still been getting nerfed. They were only buffed a few times, and those were insignificant.
The main issue -pets- is still there. Until they fix that, they’re the only class hindered by their mechanic.
I’d say rangers have it just as bad, if not worse.
Sounds reasonable. They definitely need more survival.
How about we make a guild just for this? One for EU, for one NA. It should help with preparations.
Make them context sensitive!
For example, toss/drink Elixir H should give Protection at near full health, regen at around half your health, and vigor when it’s really low. (well, someone could come with better %s, but you get the idea)
As for toss Elixir B… well, I can’t think of a good idea for this one. Probably whatever that person is missing, giving priority to might, fury then retaliation in that order. (let’s be honest, swiftness on tossing is kinda worthless)
I can’t think of something for toss Elixir U. Let’s be honest, it should be either one or the other. I suppose maybe making it sensitive to health would work; reflect at high health (wall of reflection), blind+block projectiles at low health (smoke screen).
Toss Elixir S? Eh… I think the stealth needs to go. Maybe you guys have better ideas.
Elixir X? That needs a complete revamp. Seriously. Yes, it has uses, but I prefer something more reliable – as well as not being a rip-off from other classes.

I can’t take what your talking about seriously. Its like you have not bothered to play or even learn anything about half the stuff your talking about….. This sounds more like a rant then anything.
soooo I will be moving right along.
I agree. I read the stuff for ranger, engineer and elementalist, rolled my eyes and I’m just gonna move along now.
Joke thread.
How do you people deal with static discharge? It always hits the ground for me. :/
I’m thinking of using giver’s weapons for a condition build, but I’ve read that weapon stats don’t apply normally or something.
Does this just apply to things like power? What about condition damage and condition duration?
Advent, do you mean something like this?
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Renewed_Focus
I don’t mind any weapon or kit… though I’d rather avoid grenades.
I’m mainly asking for things like world completion. WvW is another story, but I’ve got that covered.

If you had a shovel, I would have suggested using it for a chance of getting a killer rabbit, but you don’t have one, so… Good luck.
There are insta-kill spikes for tribulation mode.
No, it’s just that when you transmute something in your bank, it becomes account-bound. (it would be soulbound if you do it in your own bags, I think)
The only way to get more is to make a new character, for now.
This doesn’t really make much sense to me… The “role” of creators, from what I’ve seen, is mainly to to serve as inventors and researchers, unlike field agents, which would fit a lightbringer more.
Tybalt hadn’t been to a field mission before the Black Hole Sue player joins the Order of Whispers. I understand that ranks are given based on how much the Order “trusts” the member (as higher ranked members get to know more, or something) but that doesn’t make my point invalid… I think.
This is mainly for QoL purposes when it comes to switching two weapons for one two-handed weapon. At least that’s how I see it. I usually run X/Y & Z on my warrior and ranger (see sig) but on my engineer and elementalist, it gets annoying when I have to switch to/from two weapons and two-handed weapons.
I think it’s an issue of length more than difficulty. There’s no need for each stage to be a marathon..
I agree with bri. I invested so much time and money on my ranger, and… nothing. Everything feels so lackluster. Just reroll another class; it’s hopeless cause.
Just something I noticed. Or felt, at least.
@Holland: The axe is just a perfect example of jack of all trades, master of none, so in that sense, it fits the ranger perfectly
it also blows hard in damage and utility. so i guess it fits the ranger perfectly in that sense as well.
Ouch. That’s harsh. True, but harsh.
I agree with the TC. This just happened in Frostgorge Sound. The only people with commander titles were farming champions (except a friend of mine). We still didn’t make it because people were deliberately either ignoring the event or letting it stall for more farming.
That’s just because the animation of throwing + landing takes longer than just setting down. Same issue with (un)traited engineer med kits.
Kill the pet after the ranger uses his skill. It won’t be able to res anymore until the skill is up again, which’ll take a while.
Or, you know, apply some CC or poison.
And why is it that I as a ranger cannot gain any adrenaline?
Right, totally different profession..
You completely missed the point of his argument… read it again.
…which is really stupid, because everyone’s just going to rush to the same map. ._.
I was fortunate to have a quick (but painful) death.

(may contain foul language)
Trust me, even people who can see colors still struggle to see them. -_- They don’t contrast well with the floor.
The best you can do is lower the camera so you can see the black orbs from above.
Name must contain at least two words. That’s why.
No, it doesn’t. I can name my Moa “Altair” just fine.
This’ll become moot when ANet realizes Axe 5 still reflects projectiles when it shouldn’t. (way to go, balance team…)
^ This guy gets it.
To be honest, I couldn’t agree more. Pets are a hindrance, no matter how you beat around the bush.
They die faster than you can pick your nose, and calling them back is useless when you’re ALREADY in melee.
Their F2 skills take too long (and have huge kitten CDs) and have minimal effects.
Pets die too fast.
Pets don’t scale with your gear.
Pets are dead most of the time.
The pet swap cooldown is way too long.
Pets need more survivability.
The “attack my target” feature is often useless.
I know this is related to the new LS, but you can’t tell me those still don’t apply here.
I only play my ranger because it’s… visually appealing (IYKWIM), but I’m tempted to just delete it because I’ve given up hope on having it balanced.
