The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I miss the NPCs from Lion’s Arch.
I like that the NPCs talk to us to get help with quests. So much better than a blinking exclamation mark over their heads.
However, it’s true that when you’re crafting or standing still in one spot for a while, the repetitiveness gets irritating.
On the flip side, I’ve actually purposefully stood in one spot to hear a dialogue repeat because I didn’t catch it all! (Have you hear the singing Norn and the Hylek? Hilarious!)
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Yes yes yes. Please add armor weight filter! I’m soooo sick of searching through pages of stuff for what I want.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I agree with some of what OP is saying. As a tailor, there is nothing unique about the clothes I make until level 400. I wish that there were unique-looking clothes to tailor so that my craft had value.
As a chef, I sell some food on the TP, but mostly I just cook for my own use.
I think all crafting types should have something unique and valuable about them to make them worthwhile.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Knightblaster, you’re right on.
I’ve been playing Wildstar in beta for a while, and honestly found it to be simply childish compared to GW2. It’s all flashes and noises and over-exaggeration.
I went to a “vista” when I was an Explorer… and was unimpressed. GW2 is flat-out gorgeous, and don’t you ever forget it!
I found the spells and skills to be confusing, no matter what class, with the special doohickies that you had to fill up or not fill up or I don’t know. That was mostly noobishness, but it seemed harder than normal to pick up and play effectively. (I don’t remember that happening as a noob in GW2.)
I hated having to pick up quests… instead of them just happening organically. The “kill this many whatsits” challenges were interesting, but that’s about it.
Also, wtf is up with the lore everywhere in WS? Weird.
All in all, WS reminded me of WoW. Been there, done that.
However, Wildstar’s unique races are freaking AWESOME. I had so much fun creating toons, that I almost didn’t want to play.
I’ll probably pop into WS this weekend for open beta and see if it catches my attention some more, just to give it a fair shot, but it’s not looking good for it to replace GW2 anytime soon.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
yes yes yes
Her clothes make me jealous every time I see her.
(Now if only her speech patterns weren’t so annoying. Talk about dramatic pauses!)
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Please just make cities non-megaserver. I want my Yak’s Bend community back. I want a place where I know I can hang out with just Yakkers, Yakites, whatever, and converse freely. I enjoyed seeing the same crazy folks all the time. It made me feel at home.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Kodan. People from Elona or Cantha.
A Branded. (Remember when we did that in beta?? So fun!)
Dwarves.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I finally got a pic of the bug while in EotM. I put a big obvious arrow next to it!
It’s not causing any problem, just kinda irritating to see it flashing down there.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
It’s okay to admit you kittened up, ANet. You can roll back the megaserver system and we will forgive you.
As a partial measure, you can at least get rid of it in the cities.
hugs
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Do you mean this rogue armor?
Dulfy has info on wardrobe unlocks here. She says it’s WvW or karma.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
The superior ones, yes, it does look like they are either purple or orange. Thanks for the tip, Shifu.
The lower level ones are still confusing to me though. I mean, it’s not a big deal, but just something I noticed myself getting irritated with the other day.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Am I the only one who can’t tell which is a rune or a sigil in my backpack without mousing over them? Can maybe one of them be changed to a triangle or some other shape besides a circle?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I was wandering around The Grove and noticed that several Sylvari are wearing outfits that we aren’t in the wardrobe. I’d like to request that these be added! They are beautiful.
If I’m mistaken and someone knows how to get these, please let me know.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I asked this question before and the moderator referred me to the “traits” section. But that’s not the same thing at all. I know what you’re talking about, and yes, it’s missing. But you can still interact with NPCs and do the Charming heart thing.
They’re probably getting rid of it. Wouldn’t really matter since it never made a difference anyway.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I agree with the OP, I’d love to have seasonal outfits. Spring clothes with rubber boots and bonnets, summer shorts and sleeveless shirts, fall overalls and raincoats. I don’t want to break the feel of the game, so no more modern outfits like boxing gloves.
I want fancy party dresses, ball gowns, tailcoats.
Wedding outfits! And veils and scarves.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
When I complete an event, there is the regular graphic and text that comes up on the right hand side to tell me what I achieved. But at the same time, a white circle flashes down below that, closer to the minimap. It looks like it’s a duplicate of the white flashy edge around the gold “badge” of event completion. It’s just out of place.
I tried to get a screenshot of it, but I couldn’t capture it. The attached pictures shows the event completion graphic I’m referring to, but not the extra flash.
Anyone else seeing this?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
You do know that behind the Mega Server Hype super feature, it’s a cost reduction move to reduce the number of servers, right ?
Yes, I thought of that. They’re saving money by running less maps. But if they want to do that, delete a world.
I was at Southsun Cove and there were people from all worlds there, so megaserver was being used. It sucked. I didn’t recognize anybody. We all had different strategies and personalities. In Yak’s Bend, people are generally helpful and kind and forgiving. Other worlds are more aggressive and irritated at noobs. I noticed this during the overflow maps at the Marionette event. If it was all Yak’s, we seemed to be more “Oh well, next time!” when we lost. On the overflow map, there were people freaking the kitten out when we lost.
I like the idea that someone said about being ASKED which map you want, but that might end up being very clunky and irritating when you switch maps.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
A moderator locked my question about Personality traits and sent me here. But I’m not talking about these traits. I’m talking about Personality
Where did Charm, Dignity and Ferocity go? In character creation, you choose if you are charming, dignified or ferocious. “Trouble may follow me, but I use my _ to overcome it.” Those stats are gone from my Hero page. Not that it really matters, cuz they never made a difference in-game anyway.
(sorry to post here but the moderator told me to)
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
What happened to Charm, Dignity and Ferocity? The personality traits? They aren’t on the Hero screen anymore.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I don’t want a Megaserver. I don’t want to be on any map with people from other worlds, except by choice, i.e. guesting. Every home world has a different personality. Mixing up the different worlds is gonna cause issues, especially if it comes down to hate speech between WvW players.
And as Mustafa.7684 said above, what if you end up with a guildie who is from another home world and therefore is against you in PvP? He’s not paranoid, just foreseeing a problem.
I actually like being alone on maps sometimes, especially out in the wild mountains. And I always know I can use LFG to find peeps to do stuff with, or ask my guildies, or even just go to a city and ask around in map chat.
Megaserver, NO.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I have the opposite question: Why do I have to do the monthly over? I finished it already and I don’t want to do it again!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Me as well. I can see chat, but not speak in it. Not /say, /map, or /whisper. I can hear /whispers, but not reply. It says “That person is not online.”
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Fantastic! You guys are amazing.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I would love to see new hairstyles with colored streaks in them. I think this would go over insanely well! The “accessory” color could be used to change the color of the streak.
Yes, I’m a girl, and yes, I’m vain.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
+1 to everyone! I agree with all of the above.
GW2 is beautiful, fun, exciting, and full of adventures.
Amazing places to explore: I’m still finding things I haven’t seen before.
People help each other.
No competition for resource nodes.
Everyone gets loots if they participate.
Lots of added content without having to pay for it.
I want to give them MORE of my money!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I’m a bit confused about Armor Satchels that I see on the TP, for example, Satchel of Honed Noble Armor. It says, “Double click to unpack a full set of level 35 armor.” But what type of armor? Is it light, heavy or medium? Do they mean this Noble armor ?
Can there be a better description for these satchels in the future? It seems tedious to have to go to the Wiki every time just to find out the armor type.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I wish that character creation would start with choosing a name, then move on to choosing race, class, etc. Oftentimes, I make a great character, then get to the end of the process and find the name I had envisioned is taken. Then I end up with something like Spryalle the Greene, or some other lame combo.
If we could choose the name first to see if it’s available, it would be easier to build a character around the name, rather than having to force a name onto a character.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
+1
Need to have more style options that cross over different armor classes. Medium armor should have some skirts; light armor should have some pants.
And for goodness sake, cut it out with the “mullet” skirts! (Long in the back, short in the front.) They’re nice but we have plenty of them.
Also, sleeveless please. I want tats to show.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
What the four people involved in: “Did you see what she was wearing?” “No, I was too busy looking at him.”
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I thought we’d be in there cleaning up the ruins by now. I think I’d even do it voluntarily, no rewards, no XP, no loot. But then again, it would be great for people to find blade shards, heirlooms, and other event items just lying around in the rubble. We could be looters!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Agreed. I’ve stood in all the camps to hear the dialogue. Some of it is pretty cheesy, (I’m looking at you, Kasjory), but it’s interesting. They’ve covered a lot of the emotional and practical facets of war.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Awesome! We’re going to do this in Yak’s Bend Monday as well.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
What about your favorite Non main NPCs!
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Spiral.3724
What about those annoyingly in-love Quaggans from Tower of Nightmares… the ones that escaped to L.A. to build a new life tooOooogether?
I’ll miss “by Ogden’s Hammer” and “No, I was busy looking at him.”
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Me too! I was legitimately upset that villains would attack our beautiful city.
TO ARMS!!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I was hoping they’d lead to a whole new area, like Elona or something completely different.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I hope so too! Would be brilliant to have them let us in, but I doubt they would do that. However, having a big battle this close to their gates will perhaps incent them to get involved.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Great topic! I’m wondering if it does have a name, and we just don’t know it yet.
I like the idea of naming it Desolation. Nice to recognize the server for their achievement. Great bragging rights!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I don’t want more things to be destroyed. I was dismayed enough that beautiful Kessex Hills has been marred quote/unquote forever by the Tower. Now they’re hinting that other parts of the world are going to be destroyed? Not cool. Don’t make the world LESS beautiful. Is all of Tyria going to be shattered wasteland?
And it better not be the PALE TREE. As a sylvari, I would vomit sap.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I agree with you, Xenon.
The orange circles are visual overkill, but they are necessary in large fights where the boss is a bazillion times bigger than you. My eyes automatically look down at them. I actually wrote on my GW2 blog that I wanted to look UP and see what was actually happening, but I didn’t want to die and let down my teammates. It was actually kinda nice to die and have a chance to really see what was going on in the Marionette fight.
On smaller mobs, the regular circle is fine. The behavior of the mob shows his next action.
For example, I’ll be fighting a cave troll, and he’ll do the “sniff, sniff, look around” animation. That means a rock is going to fall from the ceiling soon. So then I look for the circle to show me how far I need to dodge to get away. I like that.
However, I can see why some people would complain about AOE circles if their computer was slow or they were colorblind.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I got the recipe: Exquisite Rare Sprocket Jewel from Marionette fight chest. (We lost.)
When my jeweler learned it, it said: You have learned Exquisite Watchwork Sprocket (Exotic).
Recipe requires: 150 sprockets, 1 orichalcum filigree, 1 ecto.
Creates a level 80 upgrade component with: 25 Power, 15 Precision, 15 Healing

Yes, please put a time limit on items for sale in the Trading Post. If you search, there are thousands upon thousands of items just sitting in there.
In another game I played, your sell fee was based on how long you wanted to list the item. Your sell fee is not refunded, but the item is given back to you when the listing expires.
(Yes, I know this thread is very old, but I didn’t want to post a duplicate.)
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I really love the home cities: Divinity’s Reach, Rata Sum, The Grove, Hoelbrak and The Black Citadel. I feel they don’t get enough visitors once people discover Lion’s Arch.
Perhaps we could have one daily that is race-specific and takes place in your home city? Or something else optional but fun, once a month or once a week, that takes place in each home city on a rotating basis.
Just trying to get players out of L.A. and appreciating the other cities.
Anyone else have any ideas or thoughts?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Blazeridge Steppes, Yak’s Bend Server, Ogre Assault.
Champ Ogre at Behemian Grand Kraal keeps resetting his health. Get him down to about 75% health, then he resets to 100%.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Actually, another thing: put her pretty dress and corset in the item shop.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
A tiny suggestion: I think the lovely blonde lady in Lion’s Arch, Citizen, who gives us the daily activity (eg. Keg Brawl, Crab Toss) should get a style upgrade and a real name. Make her stand out from the other Citizens. She’s worked hard for it!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Yes! I came to the forums specifically to ask if there would be new Wintersday townclothes this year. Glad to see others are thinking the same thing.
I have those earmuffs from last year.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I think it would be nice to have a new achievement for those jumpers who try really, REALLY hard to do the jumping puzzle but just never make it. Something like, “Jump on 500 snowflakes.” That way people would be encourage to try the JP, and also encouraged to not give up quickly. A reward for tenacity!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I took your advice and bought more gifts…got the Recipe for Light of Dwayna. Happier now! Thanks.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I’ve looked around and I can’t find anything worthy to buy with my ugly wool sweaters, hats and socks. All the gift exchange NPCs have are skins. Is that it? There used to be recipes for the Mystic Forge that used stacks of them. Are those available this year?
What are you all spending your uglies on?
