I would like for the banner message to show the name of the guild, not just “courtesy of our guild”. I think it would allow greater recognition to guilds who place banners. Right now, all you can do is look at the teeny-tiny guild nicname eg. SUN, and you don’t get to see the full name of the guild, eg. Lords of the Sun

A different sound if you’re using the wrong level of gathering tool. For example, I’m using an iron pick and I change maps and forget to equip my mithril pick. The sound when mining the wrong node — and getting ruined ore chunk — should be obviously different.

Update the dailies rewards to be something more interesting and valuable.
Perhaps have rewards work like the Black Lion Chests and there is a pool of stuff and it uses RNG to decide what you get. People might be more incentivized to do dailies if they had a chance to get something other than another resonating sliver.

Brilliant! Thank you so much, Ariurotl and Sirius!

I saw two Charr NPCs in Blazeridge Steppes with amazing armor! One stands outside Kinar Fort and is a merchant called Sentinel Faithshredder. The Wiki shows the armor. The other was Sentinel Darktongue, who doesn’t show the same armor in the Wiki. Here’s a screen I took of him at a dynamic event involving skritt.
I would LOVE to get this armor! The green fire is super cool, and the little chirpy birdy shoulders are adorable.
I tried to find out if the armor is available already but Googling “green fire bird pauldrons Charr” didn’t come up with much.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
That would be cool!

I’d like to see a rework done on the item screens. They are so cluttered and wordy. Too much to read! I’d like some more graphical representations of what I’m looking for.
I’ve attached a revised item screen from a vendor shot.
1. Remove the “Masterwork” labels. The item is color-coded anyway but for those who don’t know that, have a mouse-over option.
2. Armor icon on the right with the item in green, i.e. this is head armor, therefore the head is green, the rest are red. (Same can go for weapons, though that might be harder to display as there are so many.)
3. Three icons to represent light, medium, heavy armor with the green one representing the item’s weight. (I couldn’t get good icons. These are just ideas.)
4. Required level below the armor icon with green box if you meet the level and red if not.
5. Wardrobe icon below the stats. A red X if you haven’t unlocked it maybe?
Extras:
Need to find a way to more clearly show if it’s a collectible or not. I’m always scanning all the words on an item to see if it is, and the “collectible” word is just plain and white and small. It would be nice to have an icon in the bottom right corner perhaps to show if it is a collectible.

A way to search if your desired character name is taken. Please. Pretty please. Pretty pretty please with kittens on top.

Please organize the buff bar. When you have food and tools and birthday boosts and boons all over the place, it’s sometimes hard to tell what’s what.
You could put a blank square for food buff and tool buff (the apple and wrench icons) that light up when they’re active. (and mouse over for effect, as usual.)
That way, I’m not scanning through my 12 buffs to see if I need to eat again.

I think Anet is trying to balance free stuff with profitability. They have to pay to run this game, you know. They’ve got to have a way to entice people to spend real money and collection addiction is proven a real money-maker. Sad but true.
Do you think you would pay an equivalent amount to just flat-out BUY the mini? Like 3000 gems? (that’s like 24 keys or something) If Anet is looking to make a profit, perhaps they need an accountant to do some calculations and come up with a “buy it now” option. You could waste money on Black Lion keys for a chance to get it, or you could just fork out the cash in one sum.
Thoughts?

I was just causing kitten. I don’t really care that much what Phaedra says. Just thought it was odd that that particular statement snuck through. Meh.
I agree with Inculpatus cedo that the devs should use their time for something more productive!
Great information from Xiahou Mao about the Six Gods.

um
beauty often conceals wickedness
beauty sometimes conceals wickedness
beauty can conceal wickednessliterally all the same thing
Actually literally not the same thing! Often, sometimes, and can are three literally completely different concepts.
(Credentials: I work as an editor.)
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
The Lunar New Year Festival vendor, Phaedra, said, “Beauty often conceals wickedness.”
Huh?
Often? What, you can’t be beautiful and kind?
When I googled the phrase, the total quote came up, though no attribution was given.
“Beauty often conceals wickedness–-true beauty is not measured by appearance but by actions and deeds.”
Perhaps a little tweak to her dialogue would be appropriate.
Beauty sometimes conceals wickedness, or beauty can conceal wickedness.
Just my two coppers.

Excellent suggestions, guys! I love the leggings on that new leystone armor. Think I’m gonna go get me some.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I’m a bit frustrated with the stylings of most medium armor. Soooo many kitten trenchcoats!
I wanted something more feminine so I created this look using:
Chest: Prowler Coat
Legs: Nightshade Leggings
Boots: Duelist Boots
The chest piece really works as a dress. Love it!
The leggings only work because I dyed them to look like her sylvari bark. Doesn’t pass close inspection but at first glance it does look like those are her legs.
The clunky shoes are horrible. Would love a medium foot piece that isn’t a boot and looks more feminine.
What do you guys do for a feminine look on females?

I was confused as well cuz I seemed to have somehow jumped from killing Mordremoth to Bloodstone Fen, and there’s these NPCs talking to me about stuff I don’t recall ever seeing. As far as I can tell, I supposed to go to the raid, Forsaken Thicket, before Bloodstone Fen?
Anyway, now I’m in BF and can’t do much cuz I never leveled up my gliding. Ah well!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Thanks for the info, Caelestia. I don’t see him in my Guild Initiative instance, but perhaps that’s because I don’t have 10,000 Influence, which appears to be the minimum he will trade for.

The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I’ve been out of the game for a while. Came back to a whole new guild system. I have some influence stored up. Other posts I’ve found said to look for Ronald Lafleur, but I can’t find him.
Am I too late?

A personal waypoint maker. You can put a waypoint wherever you want — a favorite harvesting node, where a world boss spawns, or where you meet your lover for a tryst! Once it’s placed, can’t be moved. Only usable by you. Can’t be placed in WvW, PvP, or jumping puzzles.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I don’t have HoT (yet). What happens if I complete an achievement that would award a Mastery Point? Does it get banked for later when I buy HoT?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Excellent suggestions, guys. Thanks!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I have a weird idea to have a character for each weapon. How would I go about this with the least amount of characters? I’d also like them to be relatively decent with the weapon of choice. Asking a lot?
Can you guys help me with your thoughts on which class should have which weapon? I’m referencing this chart on the Wiki
My thoughts:
Necro – Scepter/Focus + Axe/Warhorn
Ranger – Longbow + Shortbow
Mesmer – Greatsword + Sword/Torch
Guardian – Mace/Shield + Hammer
Ele – Dagger/X + Staff
Engi – Pistol/X + Rifle
The most restrictive one is the Rifle, only used by Warrior & Engi.
P.S. I don’t have HoT… yet!

I love the underwater environments in this game! Sometimes I just swim around down there for kicks. So beautiful.
I think an underwater festival would be fun, hosted by the quaggans, with fights against the Largos, underwater races, and new recipes for sushi, tuna steaks, etc.! (Never understood why killing a fish in the game didn’t drop fish meat!)
Would really help people get their Trident, Harpoon Gun, and Spear Weapon Master achieves too.
I’ve talked about this before, so I know you guys are going to say that underwater combat was a failed experiment by Anet, but I don’t think it’s failed at all.
Who’s with me?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Glowing dyes would be awesome!
I’m still waiting on colored hair streaks as a head piece or new style … and glowing hair streaks would be very cool too.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
There’s a festival?
I just noticed that I got a weird lucky envelope for doing a daily. That was my only clue. Maybe the patch released early?
I came here to find out… so I guess now I’m heading back ingame to go to D.R.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
New dailies are boring. Not enough variety. I like touring to other map areas but other than that, meh. I miss the weird ones like dodging, kill ambient mobs, and even daily jumping puzzles.
But I also miss monthlies, so maybe I’m odd.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I was in the Town of Nageling in Diessa Plateau and there is a beautiful statue of a Charr there. Forgive the ignorance of this Sylvari, but who is this Charr?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I just finished the finale and rushed over here to the forums to say…
AWESOME!!!! Freaking fantastic!
I was “oohing” along with my buddies when we found the golden cavern.
I was shocked at the death of Wynne, and subsequently Caithe’s burden.
Being Sylvari, I knew the dragon from my very first memory while still in the dream. To fight it again was epic!
And then the final cinematics… OMG OMG OMG. I was literally (not figuratively but literally) open-mouthed!
There are not enough exclamation points in the whole world to express how much I enjoyed this finale. Great job, ANet!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I was away from the game for a while and recently returned. I guess this so-called NPE is what has got me in a kerfuffle.
Why did you think you needed to change?
I didn’t think there was much wrong with the way things were.
I don’t think it’s necessary to cater to everyone’s whims, or to change to attract new players. People like the game or they don’t.
Stop trying so hard to please everyone. You’re losing players in the process.
Seems like GW2 has low self esteem.
This isn’t the game I paid for. Not sure if I like it anymore.
Old quests that were so much fun are now gone (eg. Danador’s hounds).
I can’t do my story until level 10 (Why not? Sheesh, just to try to foil key farmers? LAME.)
Unlocking skills at levels? Why? If anything, I would have preferred that it took LONGER to unlock each weapon skill as before, when you had to kill mobs to “learn”. That made sense.
Maybe my perception is skewed because I am not a new player and this is after all the New Player Experience.
I just have to say as a returning player, I miss my old game.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
It’s just a little jarring, I guess. I don’t recall the name ever being mentioned in-game. Like, at all. Ever. But my character just throws it out there like it’s common knowledge.
I felt the same way. I was like, “Did I miss something? Was there supposed to be a cut scene? Was there an some object I didn’t interact with?”
I did seem rather jarring. All of a sudden, “Oh yeah, it’s the work of Mordremoth.” It was just tossed out there. It gave me wrinkles in my forehead!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I was wondering the same thing. I went into Dry Top expecting to see a cut scene for how the big vines all arrived, and got nothin’.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I would love to see a set of armor that is covered in mud and blood and scratches and dents and looks like it’s actually been worn in combat. Shiny is nice, but I think there is an element of dirty reality missing in the armor sets we have today.
What say you?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Ah, very good questions! I hadn’t thought about this is such detail. Would love an answer too.

Make an alt of every class and get them to 80.
Join a guild and run guild missions. Or start your own guild.
Try PvP and WvW.

Um… what am I missing?
Farm Black Lion keys to get Gem Store loot.
Unlock the new traits.
Do the Festival meta achievements.
Hmmm… what else?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I just want heavy armor pants, that don’t have a skirt attached. That’s all I want.
For males? Try http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Heavy_plate_armor which can be bought for karma. (Although it kinda looks like they’re wearing metal Depends for bladder control. Hee hee!)
Or the Priory set: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Priory%27s_Historical_armor_
Not bad.
I agree with you though; the vast majority of heavy armor skins have a skirt-like thing on them. Don’t believe me? Check out Argos: http://www.argos-soft.net/GW2/ArmorGallery/index.php?lang=en&color=10&sex=0&w=3&race=2

Interesting discussion here. At first I was like, “There are TONS of sexy outfits” but then I realized that there are quite a few skimpy outfits, but that doesn’t make them sexy.
I think that the problem is with the character models themselves. They don’t have sexy movements, like some other MMOs where the toons look like they’re enjoying casting their spells waaaaay too much.
I would agree with a lot of posters on here and just mix and match. And I would also agree that more armor, and more variety of styles, would be appreciated by all!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Congratulations!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Very cool idea. I played a game with something like this… can’t recall which one it was. I hope they do it here too!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Very cool outfit! I get irritated when I find an NPC that’s wearing clothes that I can’t find anywhere. The design is already drawn… just release it for us!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I found those goggles and was soooo excited to dive off! I didn’t realize there used to be an Achieve. Bummer.
Oh well, still a fantastic leap!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I agree. I was very disappointed with the Blade Shard vendor. I used some up just to free up some space in my bank.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I’m sorry that you were let down, Truewarlord. I feel the same way, though not as severely, it seems.
I have to be very conscious now of how I’m feeling playing the game. If I find myself tense and stressed and swearing at my monitor, I have to remind myself to take a breath and go do something I actually enjoy. I try not to get caught up in the grind, the race for awesome-everything, the brag-battle.
Most times I just go to Facebook and play Kitchen Scramble to calm down.
Best of luck on your break. I hope you come back when you’re refreshed!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Would pay gems for a devpost about the megaserver.
No kidding, eh? Would love some acknowledgement.
I believe the consensus is megaserver = badly implemented idea.
I don’t think it’s a question of the people who like megaserver just not speaking up. I think it truly that the megaserver idea has too many flaws for the player base to accept it, and they have been vocal about their displeasure, AND quite constructive in their criticism. There are many great ideas and fixes for the megaserver.
So why are we being ignored by ANet?
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I love the underwater environments in this game. Can we have an underwater festival please? Hosted by the Quaggans or the Largos, or both. Would be a great way to feel like you’re beating the real-life summer heat!
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I agree with a lot of what you’re saying. I was super excited to see new faces, but disappointed that most were so similar as to be brother & sister. However, the new female Sylvari faces are awesome, and I really like the Asura face tattoos. The Norn females are too pouty.
There are so many unique faces in the world, yet GW2 seems to only have perfectly symmetrical models. I’d like to see more crooked noses, thin lips, and make-up free faces.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
This is cool! I missed this last year. I was on a break.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
I found the Argos Armor Gallery. It shows visuals of the armor skins and then if you click one, it shows a list of the names of skins that go with the appearance.
Just browsing through that, (if it’s accurate) I can see that I was right about Winged and Masquerade crafted sets being unique in appearance, because neither of those have any other names listed.
As an example of a non-unique crafted skin, the Exalted coat shares the same skin with Outrider’s Coat.
Another great link for wardrobe is Dulfy’s site.
The Wrong Crowd [bAd] Yak’s Bend
Which tailored clothes are unique to crafting and cannot be obtained any other way, such as at vendors, as a drop or quest reward?
My educated guess is that Embroidered, Student, and Acolyte are not unique, and Winged, Feathered, Masquerade and Exalted are unique.
Has anyone found the last four at a vendor, as a drop, or received as a reward?
