Ranger is listed under both roles, a testament to its versatility. Ranger is last on both lists, as it is outperformed in every role.
These of course are not the only two roles in any team, but any other role is a sub-category of the two. This is also based on the conquest game mode. Stronghold is another thing entirely.
I run Hiro’s build and I LOVE it. Great all around build.
A dev with knowledge of the matchmaking algorithm is probably the only one who can actually explain this. My guess is you’re being unintentionally punished for being a top player.
Perplexity runes will turn your PU mesmer into a monster.
You missed a few things. Sigil of battle for might stacking, elemental elite for 1vX, and cleansing fire is also extremely useful for burst burns.
The rotation demonstration needs work. You didn’t actually portray an optimal might stacking rotation, and where’s the defensive rotation?

This is fantastic news. The synergy across trait lines for mesmer is so friggen good. High hopes for beserker.
You can chill a downed foe to secure a stomp as their interrupt won’t be ready in time. Not that thieves have a whole lot of trouble stomping.
Chilling an ele out of water is the usual go-to, but thieves can gank them pretty well without it.
Definitely take ice drake and venomshare. The the duration of chill your allies apply is effected by your rune and sigil setup. You can troll the unranked arena with mass chills.
1.) This is a fantastic idea and a quick fix to aoe cleave – the bane pets.
4.) Spirits need a rework. This is known.
5.) Outside of pve, nature magic is amazing. Rejuvenation synergizes with oakheart salve, allies’ aid is insta res, evasive purity is great with all the blinds being tossed around lately, 20% boon duration, and protective ward OH MAN. If you’re traited in beastmastery you can inflict a ton of weakness while giving yourself protection, essentially becoming a tank even while running a glassy amulet. (Nature magic fanboy over here)

Solid looking build. The only problems I can see are kiters, considering you have no ranged attacks accept the f1 hammer leap which you cant just pop all willy nilly.
I advocate for strength as well. With body blow, zerker strength, and stick and move in the strength line, and cull of the weak in def, thats near perma weakness and a whopping 55% in damage modifiers.
I’d take that extra 35% over some crit chance any day.
I feel like this isn’t going to happen because of one reason – and that is rune of the warrior. Wearing this rune really only breaks shout and condi builds that wear runes for burns / bleeds or general duration, and I bet anet sees our complaints and uses this rune set as a reason to do nothing about them.

I’m currently running a sword/mace /hammer lockdown build with mucho success in hotjoins. I’ll post it in the forums tonight. Hopefully it’s not too gs/ham esque for you to enjoy.
Have you tried rifle since the update? Thanks to our new damage modifiers, I once crited for 36k across 3 people with a well timed killshot. I feel like a killshot build will definitely tickle your fancy to escape gs/ham.
I haven’t tried a full blown condi build yet, but hybrid builds are there. Someone on the forums posted a cele lb / sword/axe build that has very great sustained damage. Lots of crits through signet mastery, decent bleeds, very nice burning with lb f1 + axe 5. I’m thinking of going back to this one now that lb f1 can proc zerkers power.
I hope you come to love your warrior as much as I do post patch.
Good point Nier. A solution would be to have 2 stat caps, one at 1200 and (after that one is reached) another at 900. So if you already have one stat at 1200, you can’t make another stat over 900.
Also, two 1050 stats should be allowed, so the caps are scaling / fluid.

^ True words. Things go baseline because a class can’t function without them. Bountiful theft doesn’t fit that criteria.
I’m comparing the style of your complaints about mesmer’s stealth to other classes. Mesmers mesmerize their enemies with clones and stealth, just as guardians are very defensive and warriors offensive.
My point is that you want to take away something that makes a mesmer a mesmer. I think (as well as most of the community) that the fact that mesmers can stealth isnt the problem, but that they can do it for so kittening long.

This thread is dumb. Stealth is a class defining ability of mesmer that is there to mess with your head.
You might as well say that guards have too many blocks and wars have too much damage and eles too many spells.
On a side note – mesmer stealth uptime is too high and being abused to an annoying extent. Pro tip: CC ftw against a mesmer
Why would you not gtfo when you saw two warriors. You know they’re going to immune through your burst. As a pvp thief your role is to backcap and +1…
If you timed your stealth and evades right you probably could have kept them occupied long enough for your team to make some progress on the map.

Personally I’m loving the new meta. Build diversity is at an all time high (unless you’re a theif – RIP acro line). Warriors finally feel right with visceral in-your-face damage.
Honestly for a complete overhaul of core game mechanics, I’m surprised that there’s not more balance issues.

For thieves I endure pain if I get hit with a basilisk venom. Ww through the blind or axe aa if your stuck in axe, but really shouldn’t have too much trouble with blind because your attacks aren’t slow.
For guards keep the burn off. If they’re surrounded by little blue shields that block, press the attack or else those lil blue shields will explode for lots of dmg. If they invuln just disengage for a few seconds
Great build. I run a very similar one myself. I suggest taking cleansing ire and throwing balanced stance on your toolbar. It’ll help against all classes you mentioned. Once you get good at popping your stances and heal for condi immunity and direct damage immunity you can run zerker ammy and still be quite tanky.
Mesmers shouldn’t give you too much trouble. Start off with a block to stack might. If you get locked down expect a burst. Break and dodge or endure pain. You can one shot all their clones except defender. Whirlwind through them, axe 2 through them, gs4 through them. They rarely carry stun breaks so shield 4 & evis = super effective.
Necros are a joke just stay out of the aoe. They’ll try to immob you in it just ww out or pop stability. They have almost no active defense just burst them down.
A good dd ele will outplay you everytime. Keep the burns off with brawlers recovery, zerker stance, heal signet, and cleansing ire if you run it. Only use your shield 4 and evis when you don’t see the little rocks around them.

I’m sure I’m not the only ele out there who really wanted to play in pvp with conjures. This is for my fellow conjure lovers. It turned out a lot better than I suspected! Its certainly not the new meta but its tons of fun. Let me know you think.

Perma fury, easy might stacking, high protection and aura uptime. Almost always immune to critical hits.
High condi pressure and heavy cc are problems.
Its not the jack of all trades role that the ele usually fills, but it packs some serious punch and is just plain fun.
I’m also having this issue. Its making the game unplayable.
