Situation is this: With Glint having easy Perma fury which is traited for 40% crit chance increase, is basically flat out 40% crit chance on you at all times. For this reason, when using full Berserker’s gear you can hit the 100% easily and even surpass is quiet quickly, which is why people stay it’s a waste.
It works fantastically, no doubt. BUT, you can hit the same stats with other gear, while also being more durable.
It’s a question of circumstances and optimization.
I’ve heard you may need to un-equip and re-equip it for them to notice.

And I’m tired of writing.
There’s a big difference in the top tier elite specs vs. the low tiers. This was just Herald. Similar paragraphs can be written about Chrono, Reaper, Scrapper, Druid.

I think the complaint is more that Revenants get improved versions of every other class’ unique perks.
For example, Defiant Stance used to be a completely unique effect only available for warriors. It was not the best healing skill ever, but it has a completely unique effect with some fun and niche uses here and there and was very rewarding when it worked. Herald not only gets something that was once unique to warriors in Defiant Stance, but it’s an improved version.
Shield Stance used to be one of the best block in the game, it was even showcased in the warrior preview videos before launch so I figure it’s supposed to be a warrior signature skill. Revenant now has a Shield Stance that heals with a shorter cooldown. Yeah, it roots so perhaps PvP players will still prefer Shield Stance, but in general I think Herald shield block is better than warriors.
And it’s not just warrior vs revenants. Herald shield 4 is an improved version of some Guardians shield. In fact, when you think about it, herald shield looks like they took the best guardian shield skill and the best warrior skill and then improved them.
Dedicated healing is something that were given to druids. Even the old classes that were supposed to be healing specialists, like elementalists and guardians, won’t be able to compete. But wait, guess who else has healing? Yup, revenants got it.
Revenants have a solid step in every aspect of the game: damage, conditions, healing, tanking, buffing, you name it. While some classes may be better than revenant in specific aspects (I believe druid healing > revenant healing) there doesn’t seem to be a single class that is competitive in every aspect of the game other than revenant. And that, I think, it going to be a problem.
That’s because you’re looking at particular skills. Rev is designed to be a jack of all trades, that’s the purpose.
But overall? Druid is still better at healing. Guardian is still better at blocking. Warr is still better at CCing/mobility, Ele is still better at DPSing, and so forth.

I fought Brazil once (duel) and when he was at 5% health (as an engi about a year ago) his bodyguards stepped in – and that is how I see any advise of him – so it’s not so good to come to a forum, admit that you have no idea what you’re talking about and base your opinion on someone who doesn’t know to play. I still laugh about that fight every time I see his name, sorry.
No, I have no idea about the class, but that’s just how I see this QQ… You’re welcome to disproof my claims, and honestly you probably can since, again, I know nothing. I just want to know how is it disproved
@BeepBoopBop: just fyi, I’ve never complained about thieves or stealth. I even think that during that last few months thieves have been particularly easier to take down. I’m only trying to express my opinion about the adjusting to a new given situation, instead of QQing all day.
@Odokuro: You just took what I said to the extreme,I never said anything about completely abandoning one mechanic. You know, making an evade build won’t lock all access to stealth. Stealth is still good, there’s just a lot more counter to it

I meant that if this is the way it works now, I don’t think it should work differently with OLs.
So to clarify, are you saying FA recharges the OL even if you stay in Air and don’t swap out?
I think it’s only logical that Fresh Air will recharge air attunement/overload only after you swap out of air, just like it functions now.
May I ask how do you know they’re getting a rework? 
i made these 2 builds using the rolling mist trait for shiro/herald they are similar, the first use valkyrie gear and bersek/valkyrie accesories to reach 82% crit rate (with fury) 214% ferocity, 20.8k hp and 2.6k AP
the second one combines zerk with valkyrie and cavalier gear, different runes to obtain the same stats as above but exanching 300 AP for 800 armor, but compensating the power lost by having enough dmg modifiers to hit 40% more dmg agaisnt targets below 50% hp
Are those meant for PvE, roaming or zerging?

Every class has it’s role in WvW.
While eles will AoE bomb from a distance while Warriors will hard cc in the front line, while Guardians buff the group, after Necro’s have crippled the enemy and Mesemers utilized the group by portaling, stealthing and removing conditions from the whole group, and so on…
Personally I have all the mentioned above classes, and I’m having a blast with each and every one of them

I think the trait should cause all chill inflicted by the player to also apply a condition called “frostbite” which stacks in intensity, and perhaps has another control effect.

It does push group support a bit more though. Ele already has practically everything, that’s why you can’t expect anything new. They have amazing close range dps, mid range with scepter, and long range with staff. They have invulns, condi clear, conditions, boons.
What more can you expect? Stealth? That would just be silly.
Actually what I expected was this in-your-face tanky-supportive frontline playstyle with some AoE overloads, fields for the zerg and Cc for the enemy..
So yeah, staff ele can do this, only it’s not in-your-face at all…You do get some of that with the moving water field, and tons of might application as well as aoe stun breaks and aoe immob/chill and heals. But I think the issue is the Warhorn, as I said. I found it very “meh” which is why I came up with a d+d Tempest build instead haha.
Don’t even get me stared on warhorn, it’s just plain boring imo…
Nonetheless, idea of a dd tempest is actually pretty interesting to me, yet it’s still not a big enough change from the current ele state, I even doubt it can outplay the current dd ele

What further disappoints me is that you cannot even channel overloads without stab, which we only have under 60 sec CD (traited) , because Ele isn’t even designed to be frontline, so by not giving us the tools to even finish channel the overloads, they pretty much failed designing the tempest

Still unsure. I really want to, it’s just that last time I played it in the BWE it felt so horribly slow… Besides, I like to play all 3 games modes, and I have yet to see how does the Rev fair in all of them…

Hey there, I’ve got a few questions regarding Dungeon specific builds:
-Can you rank the 3 builds by their DPS (Assuming I run with PUGs, and they don’t stack Might very well), and how significant is the difference between them?
-Does a S/D build has to be paired with LH?
-Is there a guide somewhere about a D/D build? I gotta say it’s my favorite setup, though I don’t really understand how does it do in PvE …
-In CoF P2, I constantly die at to the Lava rock due to it’s fire shield, it stacks like 10 burns on me when I Dps it. How do I counter it…?

What if I don’t have enough Transmutation charges and can’t buy any? I cannot change my gear’s skin? :\
Pre patch I had a ton of fun running Gs/Hammer medi, though post patch I found it very unsynergistic and lackluster :/

This is really similar to what I run, only thing is I take Honor instead of Zeal with force of will, that way I get to take Berserker’s amulet.
The build is amazingly powerful and fun, I get to burst down people in seconds…Berserker amulet has way more damage. How’s the survivability with that? I ran it for ages but mesmers could just 1 shot me and thieves were close to it. Does Honor really help that much with survivability? And you lose out on a bit of damage/damage buffs. The burst is crazy yeah got some great clips in the video
The survivability is really good, I sustain myself quiet well in most fights. Question is weather or not it’s worth leaving Zeal for Berserker’s… It needs some testing

Took it for a raid today, and I had a blast
With the Applied Fortitude stacks, I had over 20k HP, I managed to survive really well, while also killing a ton xP

Hey there, I’ve been thinking about starting an ele for a while now and I really want to give it a shot, I love how much utility and damage ele can put out.
I’m mainly a PvE and large scale WvW player, can anyone recommend some builds and playstyles? I’m a sucker for Aoe damage, so I think I’ll go for staff builds, though I’d love to hear any suggestions.

My main WvW profession is Necro, and I can say without a doubt that we’re crucial in large scale WvW. Our AoE capabilities are unrivaled, and marks are needed in a lot of situations like higher enemies or portals.
Current Necro state in PvE though is pretty bad. We have no support at all, and our dps doesn’t match other classes’es… I hope it changes with the coming of the Reaper, I saw some theory crafting with high potential and I hope Necro’s will be able to match other classes in Dps and PvE.
As for pvp, I’m not familiar enough with our current state there…
That’s actually awful, I doubt the pvp meta Medi Guardian build will be viable anymore.
Also pretty much any build on any game mode that doesn’t use vit gear would be worthless. Except maybe pve zerker meta
GS would probably be better because it has the burst damage, but both are much less than a hammer build for weapon camping.
If you really like staff being handy on your weapon swap I’d suggest Hammer/staff though try to minimize your staff usage while in fights.
I want the staff strictly for between fights Swiftness and Empowers, don’t want to use it in fights.

I like to run staff with my DPS guardian for some more utility, so I’m not really rotating between weapons.
I’m curious to what do you think about a build that revolves around Sword rather than GS?
Which one of these weapons do more DPS when you build around it? and which offhand would be better for the sword?

Wouldn’t get too comfortable on only GS. I personally plan on going Staff + Dagger/Focus or Dagger/WH for my reaper.
Unless of course you’re specifically asking for what goes with GS. If thats the case, its hard to say anything but Staff or you might find yourself in Kite City taking a one way train to Pwn-town.
Without a GS it’s not really a reaper, is it?
I’ve been willing to try the Ranger for a while now, though I’m a little discouraged by people saying it’s the worst class, and it’s severely lacking in general
I mainly like to play WvW [zering] and some basic PvE (Daily dungeons and world bosses), how do you think the Ranger fairs in these situations?
