Yes the Hammer dps was tested. You can find the videos on youtube and reddit. It’s the third best dps for raids behind Tempest and Thief (especially for Sabetha).

Hello, I PvP pretty exclusively with my Reaper, playing a condi build.
This is the build I currently run:

It’s a bit tweaked version of the build from Holt’s Video

But there were a few things I was wondering about…
First, the Amuelt. Was thinking about perhaps changing to Wanderer’s (Is the expertise worth it? How effective is it with the current Meta’s condi removal?), or maybe Carrion (Going to lose some Bleeds and Condi damage from Curses line, but how significant is it? I was thinking the extra power might give me a fighting chance against Diamond Skin eles)

Second, Grandmaster specializations: What do you think about getting Blighter’s Boon instead of Deathly Chill (Deathly chill seems pretty weak, and Blighter’s boon seems like a nice boost to survival), Death Perception instead of Dhuumfire (extra bleeds), or Lingering Curse instead of Weakening Shroud?

So, I haven’t played Warrior in a while now, Probably since Hambow meta (6 months ago maybe?).
I’ve been hearing everywhere about Warr’s awful current state (and seen it. Been amazingly easy to take down Warrs recently), but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a condi Zerker running around, and I’ve been interested in it.

Has anyone played it? Crafted such a build? I’m not really good at build crafting, I’d like to see your builds and hear your thoughts

Hello, I’m new to fractals. My main reason for getting into them was for the fractal back piece.
In order to get the ascended piece I’ll need about 1800 relics.
Now, currently I’ve been spending my relics on versatile agony infusions so I could go to higher scaled fractals, I’ve got 23 Ar so far

My question is, in general, how do I maximize relics gain?
Considering how high in scales should I go? How high should my Ar go? Which infusions should I use on my ascended pieces? Should I make any infused gear? How do I even infuse it?

Err…Yes. Hammer revenants dominate zerg fights. Completely. You really don’t need to have anything else.

My experience so far is that a hammer revenant is singularly more terrifying than litterally any other build in a zerg fight. In the meteor showers of a glass ele doesn’t come close.

Game play is mostly just spamming CoR off CD?

Hey , I’m still trying to get full ascended berserker trinkets for my accuont. Whats the best way to do this? Is it still through Fractals?

Btw I’m aware of the option to do this through WvW and Laurels, though I’m also trying to craft an Ascended armor set, so I need those Laurels currently for recipes, so I’d actually like to do this through some other way.
FYI, I only need 1 more Ring and 1 more Acc. Also backpiece, though I’m pretty sure there’s not much alternatives to Fratcals.

You can get cele trinkets from various sources. For armor, you need to craft it. If you have the money, I would at least evaluate making ascended celestial gear, because both version use charged quartz crystals, which are timegated and a massive pain to come by. It may not be worth it at all to you, but consider it.

The other option is pick effectively random gear so it comes out balanced. Like soldiers coat, magi pants, assassin weapon, etc.

Hey, so I’ve been looking for a D/Wh burning focused build that is also durable.
Gotta say this build almost hits the jackpot, Only 2 things still bother me: Looking for something a bit more dmg focused (Not too glassy though. As I said, looking for something durable), and second thing is budget.
Pretty much all the builds here were using tons of unconventional ascended gear, and I just don’t want to invest that much into a build I haven’t even tried yet :/

Can anyone help me come up with a build that solves these?

So far I haven’t had any success taking down the Vale Guardian, and I’m looking for some room for improvement

I could really use some tips, perhaps setup changes (Not sure about Elite for example) or anything really that’d help me take him down. I usually melee him and trying to keep up as high of a DPS as I can, while relying on Phantasms to keep DPS while I can’t, and still Shattering when I can get the full benefit of the shatter .
Could prob use some tips or tricks, I feel like Mesmer has a really high skill cup and I’m barely using half of it’s potential. For example, I often find myself not using Continuum Split at all, since I Just can’t think about a use for it in the middle of the fight …

I’m sure I have lots of room to improve, and I need some help to push higher here .

I’ve run this using Viper and Sinister, or at least a version of it. I choose Earth over Arcane mainly for the option to run Signet of Fire and use it on everything, and can choose to run signet heal if solo too. Plus the extra condition damage doesn’t hurt either.

1. I choose Focus over Warhorn because I like the defensive options more as they allow me to use more damage oriented gear instead of needing Vitality/Toughness and give very good break bar options. Learning to place Flamewall properly is just a matter of getting used to it. Damage wise? I believe Flamewall stacks more burns (which is your main source of condi damage) than Wildfire, but skill wise it comes down to Focus allowing more damage oriented gear than warhorn.

2. I don’t particularly have trouble with much in HoT using this, just sometimes takes a little longer since it’s condi damage. I’d personally stick to Viper/Sinister stats if you want the highest damage (Viper specifically).

3. Smoldering sigil + Balthazar runes + Bowl of Sweet and Spicy Beans + Toxic Fusing Crystal = 95% burning duration increase. Burning is your main source of condi damage so this is how it all comes together.

1. I’ve been running D/F for a while now and honest to god I just can’t fathom whats so defensive about it. Sure, it has some nice defensive utility, but overall when you’re health goes down there’s not much you can do [Other than the earth 5, which is on a really long cooldown], Isn’t Wh more defensive/supportish?
2. Really? is it also true with legendary boss encounters? Take Vinetooth, or Deldimeer blademaster [The legendary boss from Dragon’s stand, can’t really remember her name), I honestly don’t know how can anyone melee these (Other than mesmers, with their ridiculous evade/invuln uptime)

When going to such a level in maximizing damage/efficiency its very important to split PvE and WvW (PvP). The max damage build in PvE would propably get torn to pieces in WvW.

Been very interested running this build, so I’ve got a few questions:

1. Can anyone make some comparison between Warhorn and Focus for this? Honestly I just feel there’s lots of DPS loss because of how small Fire wall is :\

2. How much of a dps loss is using Carrion/Rampager? I’m worried since Ele’s skills are very hybrid, so it feels like I might just lose a tone of damage not running Power stat gear [Sinister/Viper].
Whats your experience with this? How glassy is this spec? I’ve been playing HoT for a while and noticed there are some encounters I just can’t melee without constantly dying on a glassy set, so I’m really worried about running a glassy set …
3. WP talks about how the sigils and food comes together and all, but I’m not really clear on what I should run [especially on low budget] in terms of Food/sigils

Would love some opinios here ,

Rare cases? Every profession with a shield has been using it for years. Guardians (even moreso with Aegis change), Engineers, Warriors, and now Revenants too.

Mesmers getting access doesn’t make this a new or unique issue.

Guardians? Using their shields? Shield was garbage since launch up until a month ago, which made shield viable at most
Warrs took them only for Pvp
And honestly on Engis I can’t say anything because I just don’t know.
Rev’s using shields is just as new as Mesemers using them
Fact is this problem didn’t have a very large spectrum up until recently, it just became plenty more problematic because plenty more people are using it.

Fire is most definitely not useless for D/F, it provides excellent DPS (the top D/F build is Air/Fire/x, where x is Water/Arcane/Tempest).

Tempest also has better survivability than Water, making Air/Fire/Tempest a more defensive option than the old Air/Fire/Water build (which was itself our most defensive DPS build). Let’s see why:

The classical D/F build with Air/Fire/Water (found at either metabattle, DEKeyz’s guide, or Dulfy’s guide) takes Piercing Shards, Aquamancer’s Training, and Powerful Auras from the Water traitline. None of these give you any additional survivability. In fact the only survivability from Water is Healing Ripple, which provides a heal when you attune to Water, which only happens once every ~30s when you are doing the D/F rotation.

Now you might say “Take Soothing Ice, Cleansing Wave, and Cleansing Water/Soothing Power!” but let’s be honest, those are pretty awful for PvE. Not only do they result in a huge DPS loss, they have very little survivability. Soothing Ice has an ICD of 20s, meaning it will generally only proc once during a solo fight and maybe two-three times against a fractal boss. Cleansing Wave and Cleansing Water are decent, but unnecessary for survivability seeing as we have plenty of condi removal without them. Soothing Power is near useless because a properly played D/F ele spends so little time in Water.

Meanwhile Tempest has a plethora of surviability traits. In the adept tier Gale Song gives you an AoE stunbreak/Superspeed proc, Latent Stamina gives you vigor and a small endurance regen if you are in a group, and Unstable Conduit causes your Overload Air to proc Shocking Aura, which not only stuns mobs but also has nice synergy with the grandmaster trait Elemental Bastion. This grandmaster trait causes all of your auras to heal yourself and allies. Without using shouts, D/F Tempest sustains an average of 1 aura every ~5s. These auras are:
- Fire Aura from attuning to Fire (every ~16s)
- Fire Aura from Magnetic Leap in a fire field (every ~28s)
- Shcoking Aura from Shocking Aura ability (every ~25s)
- Shocking Aura from Overload Air (every ~16s)

This does not include the Frost Aura you would gain upon dropping below 75% health (Elemental Bastion), the Shocking Aura you get when you are disabled (Tempest Defense), or the auras you have access to with shouts. Without healing power, each aura heals for 778, which gives you an average of 156 HPS just from doing your standard DPS rotation. Conversely, the healing from Healing Ripple provides 43 HPS.

Tempest also provides Hardy Conduit, which not only gives you protection while you are overloading, but also increases the effectiveness of all protection buffs by 20%.

For DPS builds (which is what this topic was created for), the Water traitline provides significantly less survivability than Tempest. Anyone who used to run the D/F Fresh Air build prior to HoT will actually have an easier time staying alive by using Tempest.

And for DPS builds, don’t drop Fire for Earth. For crying out loud, Fire provides so much more DPS.

Op was talking about the arcana variant, and arcana did provide more defense. Not sue If more than tempest though

Anyhow, you’re forgetting HoT is just generally harder than previous content, I just want someone who has played with it a little in HoT to share his experience

Works extremely well for me. Feels like the perfect balance between damage and survival. Im able to deal pretty good dmg while still surviving pretty much anything. If you just notice your foe a bit, you can mostly get through all of the fight cycling between distortion, block and hard cc, so your foe can’t damage you (of course it’s harder with Breakbars, that’s where you usually have to dodge)

It’s probably not optimal, but it works really well for me. Even without having full Chrono spec yet

The fundamental aspect of the Revenant is the Energy system and ability to swap your 6-0 skills.

ArenaNet never advertised the profession as each Legend being locked into the same skill. If you look back you’ll find posts of people asking about that and not getting answers, of some people assuming there would be more because in one of the early interviews they talked about a Jalis “rune” skill that we didn’t see in beta.

Having limited options is not a mechanic. There is nothing about the mechanic that actually prevents adding more skills to each Legend. Simply put, we were given an incomplete prototype of a profession. It’s what you’d expect to see in a beta with set builds and limited options. But a single underwater weapon and zero nuance to builds? That’s incomplete.

If you enjoy it as is, that’s fine. Me asking for more options won’t hurt your experience.

For the record though, up until recently Mesmers had the same issue. Our “mechanic” had design flaws that made it too unreliable to use effectively. And it was balanced around potentially having access to a trait (Illusionary Persona) that basically fixed all of the flaws. Without the trait, Shattering didn’t do much. With it, it was suddenly awesome and reliable.

Two years ago I suggested illusionary persona be made baseline (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Illusionary-Persona-an-OP-Trait/first is an example of just one such post). Eventually ANet finally came around and did so. Now – suddenly – all Mesmers are Shatter Mesmers because the mechanic has more reliability built in. It wasn’t until after that that it occurred to people that despite “shattering” being the base mechanic of the Mesmer people only referred to it as a specialized build because it wasn’t used much without IP. It’s like thinking of a Necromancer who just doesn’t bother to use his Deathshroud or a Thief who doesn’t steal. Why wouldn’t they? Because they usually got something reliable out of their mechanic whereas Mesmers often flopped.

Mesmers still had good builds and overpowered builds and could be enjoyable to play. That doesn’t change the fact that the mechanic was flawed and needed addressed. Combined with the change to pet damage in PvE it’s breathed new life into the profession.

For Mesmers the issue was reliability, for Revenants it’s that your “utility” skills have no “utility”. Your special mechanic is a gimmick that limits you. I mean, what does it give you? An extra set of 6-0 skills? Guess what so does the Engineer toolbelt. Except your skills are locked in and gated by an energy resource more restrictive than Initiative. I’m glad you enjoy the profession, I still do too to a degree. But I don’t let enjoying thematics and a cool concept overshadow glaring design flaws.

Hopefully it doesn’t take ANet two years to address it – hell, I’d be happy if Roy or someone actually commented on the subject. As much as it’s been brought up you’d think they’d settle the matter once and for all. I wonder why they don’t? Probably because they know it’s an issue and saying “we don’t have time to develop more than a base kit and a single underwater weapon” is bad PR.

Rev’s mechanic is certain utilities tied to certain legends, and the ability to swap between 2 sets in battle. If you don’t like the mechanic and want to mix n math, this class isn’t for you.
Dont get me wrong, i’ll certainly enjoy more skills. Furthermore, every class gets 4 utilities from each type, meaning we should get at least 1 more skill for choice. Its just that I don’t think its necessary, its more like asking for more toys because like all the other kids have them

You’re probably aware of the fact that there’s a major difference between suggesting tweaks and improvements, and ranting about the core of the profession’s mechanic and how its fundamentally built.

Dont like illusions? Dont play mesmer
Hate shroud? Dont play necro
Discouraged by constantly switching attunements and love 2 weapon sets? Dont play ele

24 Might stacks, zerker gear, 25 vuln stacks. Even if you critter 21k every 2s (which you won’t like ever) it would only amount to 10,5k DPS which is ~6k-7k below what engineer can do.

Bad troll is bad.

Please Show me the engi that actually dpses that much…
So far I haven’t even seen world records dps that much

Hey, haven’t played Mesmer for a while now and I want to return to her for HoT,
