Yo u know after beating Simin what do I get, blue trash (not even a green). At least give something more rewarding, even a charged core or some rare item (considering gw2 wiki said that this is one of the hardest boss). I don’t even care if it is account bound.
That is why nobody does path 4 Simin except for finishing title. You get the same loot table trash as if u defeat some ac boss in 1/8 of the time.
And really, a pile of incandescent dust in arah? I could have got that in ac and still spend 1/8 of the time finishing it. Give us a chance to get some t6 mats as reward In higher dungeons (even 10 or even 5 random t6 mats is better than 15 incandescent dust).
Another alternative is that I love multitasking. Give us a chance to get more 6 mats or better loot while completing the dungeon bosses for our legendary from chestsor mob. Right now u get 1 crystalline dust from a random weak mob in cursed shore and u still only get one crystalline dust from a champion in arah, for example. Wtf!!! My party worked 10 times as hard on a champion or mobs of silver enemies and i still get the same crap as if i down a ordinary undead. Give us a chance to drop 2 blues or better items on unique enemies or something.
Also, it is such a turnoff to spend 3 hrs farming at a specific place for random t6 mat to drop in a sporiadic manner.

Mumble and vent definitely helps. But make sure Ur prerequisite for founding members is “brain required” b/c if one effs up it will be very long as we discovered that our really dumb necro didn’t understand what is mumble. Got through, but this one guy had to do 2 ppl jobs while our necro was just running around for 30 min mindlessly on the torch part.
But it was funny even though it was hard cuz we were mocking our necro on mumble. He cannot get pass the bomb room while 4 of us (all light armors) basically did it. Even after we finished killing everything (2 of the party was naked) he still can’t get through and had to use wp….
The stand on ground wave battle wasn’t that bad, we only died once.
And at the end boss it ended up like this:

Anyway, on the waves part try to keep two alive and Rez Npc for meat shield. Healing, slowing, and anything other than glass cannon that increases DMG output helps. For example, our necro and Mesmer was hitting the mobs w/ vulnerability skills. With addition of Mesmer time warp x2 + ele conjour fiery great sword + spam healing/regen it did so much damage that it made the battle easier.
Our party was 2 mesmers, 1 ele, 1 necro, and 1 really dumb necro.

Well the thing is not everyone has like two hours to run a path through arah. That is assuming if u ran past trash mobs, etc.
If you have to fight every mob/enemy npc that you see imagine how long that would take. Try to fight every mob u encountered in path 4. See how long that will take.
And why waste two hrs to get the same reward if u can do it in 30 min? (especially if u have done it legit b4)
The only reason I see this thread is that everybody here has at least took the shortcut at least once in path 3 (or some other in another dungeon), and it is one of the most common. You don’t see ppl talking about the one in path 2….
Not in any way I support cheating, but it just sucks to run the full path every time that isn’t really rewarding.

Why did you say you couldn’t respec? You can leave the instance for about 10-15 minutes. It’s more than enough to respec.
Dunno. I think I started the dungeon on my server and if I exit it will kick everyone out. That is what someone said and I didnt want to risk wasting another hour or two to get to Simin again. Maybe you are right.
If you kill her in one go after she became visible again, it is not challenging, you simply need damage. If you do not have that much damage, you have to time the spark pull really well, that one might be considered a little bit more difficult, but it just requires experience/training to get the spark pulls perfect every time.
What I meant by challenging is that you really need To know your class to provide the power/support not only for yourself, but towards to better your party. Don’t know about the other classes, but this is what I did as an ele

-conjure flame weapon and burning sigil
-food, potions of undead, and sigil of undead
With all the power gear, using conjure flame weapon, food, and banner from warrior, my power equals to around 2400. And that is not counting 20% extra DMG against undead, vulnerability stack to max, Might stack b/t me and warrior, fury or crit strikes from you or party (thieves, etc), confusion, and even time warp from Mesmer.
So there it is possible to just dps Simin down if everyone knows what role they play. But if u do the 4-1 spark and can only dps her to around 10%, u can still try to get sparks back in b4 she goes back to 1st phase.
Thing about ectos was that a lot more probably got the ascended back items upgraded and nobody bothered to keep upgrading the back gear. That was probably why it crashed.
Finally beat it w/ the 4-1 spark strategy. Was a pain but we finally did it!
Yep experienced that. Happened one time and we all just quit.

It’s like that in all RPGs since Dungeons and Dragons. As I said, get over it or play other games.
At least we can see through the luck of our dm’s dice. As for ingw2, they said we have a chance, small chance. But we would never know how an exact number. Might be 1/1,000,000 or a billion for all that matters.
Well we finished it today. Had an ele, warrior,ranger, and two thieves by dps out of him after Simin appears right at 50% using the 4-1 spark method. Took us 3 tries to do it.
1st time to 20%
2nd time to 5% -barely had any health left.
Finally did it on 3rd try. Love d/d and conjure flame longsword w/food,potion, and that 10% bonus dmg against undead sigil, along w/buffs,etc.
It’s hard & challenging, but doable. Probably have to respec ur character depending on what role you play. Also know how to kite the sparks to their corresponding spots which involves some strategy. Also find a spot to fight where U won’t interfere w/ spark runners

Why not just add it into our amount instead of making us open the bags? Takes up space and time.
If u can time your dodge it is pretty easy. If ur endurance is low pop shields or teleport. Slowing him down or immobilize gives the aggroer time to recover a bit. And always stay in range.
I think you can get the upgrade back by transmuting, but transmuting isn’t exactly cheap unless it is below level 80.
Yeah I don’t wanna spend my transmuting stones just for 1 gem. Oh well might as well wait till they fix it or do something about it. It is like I find a rare and then found out the rare spine guard is a worthless piece of junk most of the time.
Try to look up programdata file (not sure where it is on Mac). It is c:/programdata for windows . Delete all patches and reinstall them.

Is fractal spine guard not salvageable due to a bug or is it there permanently? Any word on will they fix it? Cuz ther is an exquisite gem I put on a back item and now I want it back but I can’t salvage it. Now it is more worthless than amulet of dead I got in arah. At least I can still get my beryl orb back on the amulet.

No it is not. Check out some of the abyss dye or lodestones. It has went up and I made double profit. Also since ppl has way too much gold it will probably keep going up.
But I think gems will come down during holiday break cuz ppl tend to use them.

Healing rain takes too long to conjure. Better off with d/d
Tried Simin from arah and I literally had to go 30 fire, 30 water, 10 arcana just for dps purposes with my d/d. So that is around 2100 power w/ some ( not all, still deciding) power jewelry.
As for gear p/v/t is fine with healing runes make survivability for you and the party better.
And yes when attacks connect b4 she disappear the attacks say “invulnerable”. So what does that mean?
You’re not damaging her anymore while she’s invisible, it has been “fixed”. Common strategies that included moving her outside near the rocks so she do not stealth, using poison to lower her damage regen, hitting her while invisible aren’t really working anymore. Right now you gotta do real high DPS or pray that the sparks do not bug.
The real problem of this fight are the sparks, if the could make you have to pick the sparks and put on the cages or fixing their path so they don’t get stuck, moving through the statue and things like that it would make the fight better overall, maybe too easy haha.
Yeah we could have probably beat it if only one of our warrior has a banner and can heal himself. Think he went down every 20 secs and got petrified constantly while I was just too busy healing him w/ my d/d setup.
We killed her like 2 days ago using the strategy of bringing her down to 50% hp, then putting 4 sparks in, waiting her to reappear, bringing her again to 50%, then putting last spark and going all in with pure dps burst till she died.
Team consisted of 2 warriors (balanced build, not full zerker or anything), 2 mesmers (zerkers I guess) and 1 ele with a dps build as well I think. Overall we used 2 time warps, food to increase power and precision, that undead potion for 10% extra damage, banners, quickness and so on.
Fought her near the statue, she went down on the second try if I recall correctly, first one we brought her to 3% HP lol.
I guess I can try that a day or two later. It is just if we can’t kill her after 1st invis then most of the time we failed at running 4 sparks since sometimes sparks got a mind of its own or sparks won’t go to circles, etc

What is up with the sparks in Simin fight. First of all they do not go the path u desire and they sometimes go straight through the statue making us use more time to kite the sparks back and by the time it happens it was already too late.
Seconds is that sometimes the shields glitches that you would have no idea which one is not with spark so u have to run around the circle again to see which runes did not have spark. Also the rune floor is glitches that we can’t see where we put the spark. And the rune sometimes does not take sparks even though it is empty.
I wish a-net find an alternative to that such as let us carry the spark to the statue. At least we can control our destiny and not the sparks themselves b/c the sparks ai is just totally not that great and ppl are really just trying to be lucky on the sparks instead of skills.
And I heard this game is supposed to be quite casual so u don’t have to spend too much time on dungeons. Well there goes my six hrs on that one fight.

The dps method while she stealth does not work now. Only sparks work. Tried the method with 4 and 1 spark and we got her to 30% health and the sparks just went kitten They start going through statue new and there is no way we can make a perfect spark run.

I think the arah chest rewards in arah and other hiGh lvl dungeons are way too toned down compared to the fractals and the lower lvl dungeons. For example I think in two runs in arah I received one exotic and one rare and probably got less than 2g after sales of trash while by running fractals two times u at leat get 3-5 rares and maybe even an exotic in addition to better rings,etc along with at least 4g from trash. If arah is supposed to be challenging then there should be a better reward system for harder ones.

Um yeah that happened to me in arah. Now unable to gain access.
Actually started doing that too. Did path two and took some time but got through that path.
Look up gigantius lupicus. Pretty much all of the path includes him. And look up other bosses for the path that u do too.
On the other hand I did path 4 and got bugged so don’t know should u do that path.

I experienced this before. Lupus doesn’t go red before the cutscene runs. Having your NPC of choice run into his room should fix it.

Reflect works great b/c every one of the adds spits projectiles.
D/d is great if u r just leveling or in wvw when running down/disrupt enemies.
But found staffs to be more useful in a party wHen I play healer/support.
Why doesn’t any ele play cleric instead of glass cannon? Way better survivability and u can be lazy while everyone does their magic.
I was like 4/17 b4 I hit lvl 30. After hitting and farming lvl 20s & 30 I am like 9/10 on either ring or fractal weapon.
Oh yeah u were w/ me at the maw lvl.
We were wondering who got dc in the middle of the maw fight and we were discussing about why havent they fixed the dc problem.
And they said that u were stuck in the loading screen or something like that.
Yep that does suck really bad especially u spent so long on a lvl 30 fractal. Took around 2ish hrs i presume?
I got my 1st two rings at 14 & 16 respectively. Didn’t get my 3rd till lvl 28. Then farmed for about 2-3 days till an infused one. After that rings were like flowing water. I kept getting them.
Yeah I was wondering that too. Did uncategorized earlier and jumping was completely weird cuz the whole team was literally falling off. After the poison room the 1st jump was broken as u just slide off and fall right b4 the ledge.
The last 3 days I got 4 rings and 2 fractal weapon. Don’t give up!
I got 2 fractal weapons ( hammer and shield) on the same day. Once on lvl 20 and once on lvl 30.
For some reason has anybody had something similar that if u get some kind of drop at dailies for lvl 20 then it’s most likely you will get one at lvl 30 if done on the same day? Cuz I got two rings (10&20) yesterday and now 2 fractals (20&30). Coincidence?

What is the point of farming 250 t6 mats and spend like 5 gold to gain an additional +5 stat? Why not just wear a better exotic ring?
Hopefully I can help you out with that.
(1) Most crafted infusions do not cost 250 t6 mats they cost 100 also they are in no way required, as you can get infusions for relics instead. You do not need to make an infusion at all to benefit from getting an ascended item.
(2) The extra 5 to 1 stat is on top of the stats ascended items have.
(3) Ascended items are better than exotics even without the extra +5 to a single stat. here are some pics of comparison

33.3% to crit statNearly as significant an upgrade as going rare to exotic. Some could argue more significant for certain stats. The +5 is just icing on the cake.
What I am trying to say is that to go through all the trouble to gain+5 precision stat on top of agony for infusions by using all those mats which can go into mystic clovers is not worth it at all. Might as well wait for better increased rare infusions or better in the future.
But then again I bet they r going to make u craft it like how they do with the backpiece.

I got two rings in the same day today. Finally got an infused one.
But I was wondering does mf affect daily chest? I know it doesn’t affect dungeon chest but when I swapped mf gear b4 daily pops up I get a ring almost every time. I tried w/o mf gear from 18-26 and not had a single ring from dailies.
