With the amount of bugs in Arah and the amount of time I’ve wasted on broken paths after spending 30min-1hr in them, I hope these terrain exploits don’t get fixed first.
Maybe because of the size of Arah, there are quite a few terrain exploits to speed up certain parts, which to me, makes up the hours I’ve wasted because of the sheer number of bugs that break npcs activating events.

Only path I haven’t had bug is path 3.

Well, if just they finally change the fractal exotics weapons we drop to ascended (and it makes sense, not just a stupid skin neither blinking), 50 and over would be quite doable. Till when we need armors. Wasn’t the plan?
The plan is to slowly introduce ascended gear for all slots over the coming months, it has been posted many times. Of course 50+ agony demolishes you when there are only 2 rings and a backpack in the game… this dungeon was designed as a long-term dungeon that you can progress further as they add more ascended gear and as they introduce more variety through new fractals. It’s not a dungeon you’re suppose to “beat”, especially with only 3 ascended slots currently available.
That’s the whole point of an infinite scaling dungeon, eventually it will be too hard to complete. The challenge is getting as high as possible. Some people…

Dont get hit? Or if jade maw, I assume 1 person can probably just not be on the final platform, I dont think the maws agony hits the entire level.
I was talking about Jade Maw. Your idea will probably end will the person jumping down to res and getting agony applied.
while im not entirely sure, as long as your entire team isnt dead I dont think the maw resets. Also the agony only lasts a short while.
wait for everyone to die
wait a few more seconds (based on how long the agony lasts)
hop down and go res themEveryone should have moved to the safe corner, and if the person in question is shot at moving over there he can just pop an immortality (mist form for example) or dodge roll it.
Rez everyone, continue as normal. Before the last jade colossus dies, have the person jump off the edge backwards, such that they down on the previous platform, they get up, move back out of agony range. Kill last colossus. Repeat the first sequence again, and then proceed to finish maw as normal.
Now, this hinges on the agony not being map wide, and the maw not resetting if he has no viable targets in range, but players are alive. But if it works then it’s a reasonably solid way to fight him through crazy agony.
It doesn’t work like that.
First off, agony hits the entire platform, if you are off the platform when you jump from those floating stones onto the entrance of the platform area you will get hit with agony.
Second, Jade Maw never regens. So first thing you do is your group wipes from the agony attack, respawn, then run over to the entrance of the Jade Maw area. When you jump down to the Jade Maw area (on the last floating stone thing) you will instantly be hit with agony again.
When the agony tick isn’t as insane, you can get away with downed res skills like Warrior Warbanner to keep the first person up. Once they are up and through agony, they can res each of the next people who jump down. Then just repeat for his 2nd agony attack. Everything else about Jade Maw is easy.
At 50+, the agony ticks are so great you need things that can res you from dead state, like revive orbs or I believe the ranger pet might work if it hasn’t been fixed.

This has been happening since a week after they introduced dungeon DR then fixed it for those people who were always getting 6 tokens or whatever. If you remember that patch it was like 2 months ago, and there have been many threads regarding it.
It happens when you run a 5th path in under 2 hours, it’s a global dr system relating to dungeons.
For groups who speed run dungeons in under 15 min. they’ve been dealing with it forever. Fractals are kind of nice by not having DR because you can run 4 dungeons, do your fractal daily, then run 4 more dungeon paths after.
It takes about 30-45 min for your dr to reset, I believe it may reset after the 2 hours timer. Basically it’s DR related to their suggested time of 30 min. per path. So if you complete a 5th path in under that 2 hr. limit is when you only get 45 tokens.
Considering 95% of the paths in this game can be done under 20 min. they should probably look into that DR…
It isnt a matter of of a reset timer. Its based on the fact that no 5 completions can exist in a window of a 2hour time frame. So if exp 1 was finished at 12:00, you cant finish a 5th exp till 14:01 or else itll kick DR. If your 2nd exp was finished at 12:20, you can’t finish a 6th exp till 14:21 or else itll hit DR again.
Gotcha, I figured it was related to the 2 hr timer somehow but never tested it enough.

Except it’s an AOE and can cover the entire platform. Except like I said on some platform you can not even see it’s coming due to the red circle doesn’t appear due to the size of the platform. Except it can be targeting someone else on another platform and spill overs to yours.
FYI, I have no problem with this since we run a very tight group, usually with people rotating stability and reflection. But that doesn’t change the flaw with the warning rendering.
Oh and a bit of advise for you: advise can be offered in good will, I don’t understand why some people seem to think the best way to offer hint and tip is to insult others when doing it.
Yes I know it’s an AoE… it explodes on solid ground. Since the platform is so small, when you are strafing it targets an area in the open sky which causes it to miss and not explode.
Sure it does involve everyone strafing since if it targets someone standing still you’ll be hit, but the point is if everyone strafes back and forth it misses.
I do it all the time in my group, it’s not that hard. Then of course you have stability or reflect skills as backup in the rare instance it does hit solid ground.
It’s a hell of a lot better then standing still and auto attacking since the knockback will miss you 95% of the time while strafing vs hitting you 100% of the time while standing still. You can do it in conjunction with other skills, it’s not like it’s one or the other.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Terrible for PvE. Can’t compete with pure dmg crit builds because conditions have nothing like % crit damage and aren’t affected by % damage traits.
My Axe/Mace warrior auto attacks for 2.5k, no amount of condition damage is going to match that.
Not to mention the bleed cap.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Strafe back and forth while killing harpies… there you go.
Like any projectile, they go to where they think you will be while moving. For small platforms, this means they miss the platform.
Something so simple yet everyone has to QQ because they think everything is too hard while standing still and auto attacking.

Besides the stupid Destroyer in Path 3 and the pointless golem you have to fight on every path, I really like CoE because it has interactive and interesting boss fights, team work elements, and isn’t too easy or insanely hard because of cheap elements either.

Go Caudecus Manor exp and tell me you can melee 100% of the time as a non-Guardian or without a class spamming aegis for you.
You don’t have enough dodges for autoattacks that do 2k+ damage a pop and are cleaves that can still hit you from the side. You have to rely on someone else having aggro to stay behind a mob, and that said mob is not accompanied by ranged mobs that will gladly roast you from a distance.
Go melee the ascalonian groups in fractals without reflection bubbles or your charr warband taking aggro, I’d like to see how long you last.
Here you go, full melee CM 1 & 3 speed runs under 15 min each, every normal dungeon outside of fractals can pretty much be melee’d 99% of the time. Whole point of guardian is to relieve pressure off other melee classes to go full dps. That’s why 2 guard, 2 war group is so good and why they are used in most speed run videos. Of course any class isn’t going to survive if they are in melee and 4 people are ranging, but that’s why a dungeon is suppose to be 5 people working together… I have a bunch of vids from my berserker axe/mace warrior perspective as well.
Feel free to check out all of the other speed runs on my page where we pretty much have 4/5 melee since that’s what you need to do for speed runs.
Of course fractals are unique because they have infinite difficulty, so eventually you need to range. But up until the 20s you can melee most of the time. Obviously Ascalon is balanced to use your Veteran NPCs which is the whole mechanic of that fractal so it’s a bit different.
Now try that melee setup without guardians. They said classes wouldn’t be required, but surprise! The 2 classes that can afford to melee are the high base HP warriors and the boonheavy guardians. This proves nothing other than you’ve stacked the strongest classes in PvE.
Guardians in this game are seriously spoiled and have a skewed viewpoint about how things actually are through their rose-tinted glasses of inflated survivability relative to other classes.
I have 5 80s, and my first 80 was a Necro. Yes Guardians and Warriors are very strong in PvE. Instead of QQing about it on boards I choose to take the 2 days it takes to level one because it’s so ridiculously easy to level. If they get nerfed, I’ll just use one of my other 80s. I do dungeons to complete them as quickly and efficiently as possible with dedicated friend and guild groups where everyone knows what they’re doing, not to whine about melee and how it’s not fair if you use a Warrior or Guardian.
Welcome to MMOs, certain classes and team comps are better at certain things. I use my Necro and Thief for WvW, and my Guardian and Warrior for dungeons. This and my videos of nearly every other dungeon in the game proves that you can melee, which is the point. Being a whiny scrub saying it’s not fair because you used 2 heavy classes is dumb, I’ll keep doing efficient dungeon runs and you can feel sorry for yourself.
GW2 is still way more lenient on what you can bring into dungeons and complete them compared to almost every other MMO. Every single game always has more efficient builds and classes for certain things, that’s never going to change. Want to melee? Stop being a terrible ranger or necro and man up and pick a class that is viable in the current meta. Guardian has terrible ranged, if this was a discussion on ranged damage and usefulness then guardian would be low on the list. That’s the way it is.

Did it on both my chars last night for 20 daily and got rares and cores on both of them, sounds like rng.
I’ve had it not drop rares before, and had it drop like 3 rares and 2 cores before. Don’t think it has anything to do with last nights patch.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
This was a nightmare on 20 last night and took forever. 2 people in my guild had to disband groups with pugs because they didn’t have the organization to do it.
First we had the obvious bug where we got him to 75%, didn’t spawn adds, had to kill ourselves.
So we went back, he stayed at 75% health, immediately he started doing his huge AoE agony attack, then spawned like 15 adds which didn’t despawn after we used the hammer, which is rather ridiculous at 20+ fractal levels fighting an AoE Agony boss + like 10 veterans and a bunch of normal mobs.
So we wiped a 2nd time. We went back, he now had 50% health and didn’t regen, all the adds were still there that we had to clear before agroing him, then he no longer did any agony moves and just stayed melee. We had to kite him to the corner so we didn’t have to fight him and the 15 adds that spawn every time and then we managed to hurt him 4 times, do the whole hammer thing, and only agro a few mobs when we went in to hit the seal.
This fight is so messed up it’s amazing. I did this fractal legit at 10+ before I knew about hitting the seal with AoE attacks, and it was never even close to this screwed up. Not sure how doing something simple like making the seal un-attackable completely screws up this boss, it’s not just adds not spawning the first time.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Outside of high level fractals and Lupi, you can pretty much melee all dungeons.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025

Also are you aware and looking into food randomly disappearing in fractals, even within the same instance and not switching fractals?
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Funny, you couldn’t be bothered to fix the teleporting grawl bug though huh?
Would you please describe the issue to me so I can make sure our QA knows about it?
Luckily I record guides for all dungeons including fractals and it just so happens I have a perfect example.
At 2:02 I explain briefly the bug that seems to happen 75% of the time. At 2:39 you can see the bug first-hand. One of the Veteran’s always teleports 1-2s after spawning and instantly knocks off a captive preventing you from getting the bonus chest.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Once you get an organized group you realize there are still roles, they are just not as defined as other MMOs.
It’s true that every class has different specs for more damage or survivability, but certain classes are still just naturally better.
Guardians for instance can still tank for most instances, while Warriors can go full dps much better then most other classes, and it provides a much cleaner and imho fun experience.
I was in the same boat as you and probably almost everyone was the first couple weeks of the game when most people didn’t have a clue on dungeons. I remember when I thought AC was super hard. Now I can do it in my sleep in under 15 minutes and even do it with less then 5 people.
Things change alot when you get to 80 and start figuring out builds and group comps with people who aren’t terrible and in all greens.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
lol, subtle never ran dungeons in a good group.
If we are gonna make smart comments then my answer is: I was probably killing lupicus in greens and melee(except first phase which is the problem of the design i mean.) while you were still leveling.
On topic: This design of Anet shines most in fractals. And in any other dungeon you still have a harder time in melee but in fractals if you are trying to make it most efficent you go ranged. That’s that. (What you do in those videos only work till a point in fractals.)
If you honestly dont see even in your own video how you need so many buffing and supporting to melee – or if you really think that is how it should be – then i really dont think i should reply to you.
Why do people always turn things into: I HAZ IMBA PARTIEH WE CAN DO IT IF OUR ONLY PURPOSE IS TO DO THAT AS A TEAM. This mentality belongs to raids(wow-term) or world-first races. Not to every dungeon in the game.
Melee vs Ranged should never be balanced according to what a specific party can do. They should have their time to shine on certain things but it should never be to melee you need x and y and z and more focus and faster reflexes. See the point now?
Sorry if the post is a bit offensive as im quiet sleepy and hungry..and and.. i love you.
I doubt it considering I was 80 on day 3 of early release.
And I melee all the time on my guardian, even in pugs where I’m the only one and need to carry. Your comment on most of the time you can’t melee and even when you can it’s better to range usually is just dumb.
I have 2 characters at 20+ fractals, I mainly pugged on my guardian since it’s easier to carry people and by staying in melee most of the time it relieves the pressure off the rest of your party and makes pugs way smoother. Sorry you haven’t ever had a good guardian in your group and you get those terrible ones that sit back and scepter/shield and don’t do anything for the group.

In the following video of the dredge fractal, you can see me apply a food buff at ~2:20 of the video.
With no edits, at ~6:50 of the video, only 4min and 30sec later when we jump over the pipe to lose agro from the dredge, both my food buff and my party mates food buff dissappear.
I haven’t analyzed my other fractal vids yet, but I’ve noticed food dissapearing randomly within the dungeon even when not zoning to different fractals. Sometimes the food also persists while zoning, and other times it doesnt.
It does seem like its a bug with this dungeon since it doesn’t happen with dungeons outside of FotM. Hopefully this helps devs fix the bug because it’s highly annoying to lose level 80 4s food buffs after a few minutes which are vital for certain builds.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
First of all: You CANNOT always melee. Everyone that played this game so far knows this. You can always range.
Secondly: Most of the time that you -can- melee you are better off ranged. It is a resource/risk vs reward thing and the reward is not there therefor it most of the time makes no sense being melee. (There are like.. so little encounters where meleeing is good.)
So if this is about *can*s then i’d say you CANT always melee. If this is about viability.. it is not viable.
Some speed runs are done by a group of 5 people that know eachother and all go melee in dungeons which is cool, yet they still have to go ranged on some encounters.
In fractals.. you are being a bad apple to your group. Even if it is level 10 or 20.
lol, subtle never ran dungeons in a good group.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Melee is the best because it is balanced to be naturally higher. If you are good with dodges you can melee basically everything.
For normal dungeons you can pretty much melee 99% of the content. For fractals it gets a bit tougher at 20+ so you do need to jump in and out of melee a bit more.
You can check out my videos to get an idea of my warrior and guardian running full melee.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Yes they do, any mob that can drop an 80 exotic can drop a precursor.
I know someone who got dusk from the first boss fight in fractal of colossus. I’ve heard of people getting precursors from normal mobs in explorable dungeons.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
2 guard, 2 war, and 1 situational is pretty much the speed run comp currently for all dungeons. For some of the easier dungeons you can get rid of a guard for more dps.
Gives you near 100% uptime on all offensive and defensive boons, lets everyone melee which has both natural cleave and is balanced to do more damage compared to range, and the situational can usually be an ele or mesmer for combo fields and added support or a 3rd war or thief for more dps on easier things.

Sitting in front of GL right now in path 4 with him not activating… gg.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
This happened to me this weekend in path 2, but the first boss fight (the little asura) didn’t activate and just stayed green and non-attackable.
Luckily it is an early bug so you only waste about 5 min, but still should be fixed.

I’m not talking about bars, I’m talking about tarts which are 30mf and 70 power and are still at 5s with 4s buy orders.
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Considering Spicy Pumpkin Cookies = 30% mf, 70 condition damage, and 15% exp for 45 min
vs
Omnomberry Tarts = 30% mf, 70 power, and 10% exp for 30 min
The price seems pretty disproportionate. Do alot of people just not know this food exists as mf food?

Yes and it’s very annoying when you are eating 4s lvl 80 food and it disappears after 10 min.

Hey i know you, you’re that guy on my friends list that I run fractals with =O. Seeing too much of you lately, even in gw2 guru threads lol. =P
lol hey, bored at work right now. Want to find a good PvE Dungeon guild now instead of migrating to another WvW guild ~_~
Yeah work = forum browse, read updates blah blah, home = game time. Problem with FoTM is that its been built to have a static and stick with your static. If not, people fall behind and levels get all over the place. You can run with my warrior since im progressing on my guardian
Yea true for fractals, but looking for everything in general with other dungeons as well, basically a group of players where I don’t have to hold their hand and tell them what to do for all dungeons for the most part. Also pretty soon I’m just going to be doing fractal runs for daily bonus, or if they make changes to cause grouping to be less fragmented like they want to do.
Basically a PvE guild not just for current fractals, but for all dungeons and future challenging content as well. I still need to take vids of 4 more dungeon paths besides arah to finish my normal dungeon guides on my youtube page as well :p
I did get a couple PMs from some people, so looking into those guilds currently. I take it your guild is smaller and mainly for your dedicated group right now?

lol hey, bored at work right now. Want to find a good PvE Dungeon guild now instead of migrating to another WvW guild ~_~
https://www.youtube.com/user/strife025
Basically I’m not convinced that the type of guild I’m looking for generally recruits in guild forums, and is more “word of mouth”, so hoping maybe someone sees it in dungeon forums and is open to new members.
I’ve been in a hardcore small member focused (~30 active members) WvW guild with high requirements that started out in Titan Alliance during beta, the moved to BG after TA brokeup. As WvW has more or less died, I basically became less interested in WvW and more interested in dungeons and PvE content with the challenge being on quickly and efficiently learning new dungeons and clearing them quicky and efficiently with optimal party makeup.
I’m basically looking for the same type of hardcore style guild for PvE now that my current WvW guild is basically dieing and merging with another big WvW guild on another server. I’ve decided to stick to PvE for now and try to find a good dungeon/PvE guild, especially with them releasing more challenging PvE content like fractals and introducing some sort of ranking system for PvE guilds in the future.
In the past, I have remedied this by setting up my own dedicated dungeon group, as seen in most of my videos in my sig, and random threads I’ve made over the past few weeks looking for backups. This group is slowly dieing though and instead I’m hoping it’s easier to join an existing guild rather then try to reform everything since it seems hard to find alot of capable backups.
So basically, I’m looking for a like-minded guild who has the same mindset as me, speed clears dungeons, is efficient at and knows how to do high level fractals and all the normal dungeons, and uses optimal classes (I have 4 80s myself and will basically use any class that creates a group which is most efficient as classes get nerfed/buffed) which is currently basically 2 guard, 2 war, and a 5th situational. If open world challenging content ever gets introduced, I’d be interested in that as well, but for now the most challenging content is dungeons and that’s really the only thing that gives me enjoyment in PvE.
Generally, a small-mid size US guild with active, hardcore players during evenings/nights PST and various times on the weekend, not a dieing guild or one of those casual PvX guilds with like 100 players is what I’m mainly looking for… if any exist anywhere.

I should have videos up soon of fractals to go with the other dungeon guides I have in my sig, but here are a couple of things you missed that make things alot easier:
Ascalon: Don’t stand behind trees/statues, pull the mobs out to the gate you come in. The reason being, at high levels if you stand directly behind the statues, your NPCs will get hit by arrow carts, which will agro them to the middle area, and will pull every single mob, will eventually die, and then you’re stuck finishing off hard mobs at fractals 20+ without your veterans. Plus you have to res them all during the next event. Also use LOS around corners in the area after Dulfy and before the middle area to group up all the mobs nicely for your NPCs to take care off.
Swamp: Only one thing can hit you in melee range on Bloomhunger if you stand inside his body (it’s poison bolt agony attack), and you should have more then enough evades to not get hit by it if you pay attention. I regularly do this full fight while pumping out 2.5k crit auto attacks on my War and never getting hit.
Asuran: Guardian with Wall of Reflection, Spirit Shield, and Stand Your Ground is god for this. You have near 100% uptime on either projectile reflection or stability meaning you should never get knocked down. My group just goes full melee and clears the jump paths super fast. This is even better for the last boss fight, especially with 2 guardians. You can actually reflect the bosses agony attack back onto the golems and instantly kill them. Just set up everyone in the back area, use wall of reflection, then spirit shield, then wall of reflection should be back up for when you fight all 4 which you can use to instantly kill them. I do this fight in under 1 min. at 20+ fractals.
Colossus: The point of the mobs is to get a hammer charge. I see too many noob groups just trying to kill everything quickly. Also you don’t need to stand directly in front of the seal to hit it, especially useful for the 2nd and 3rd seal event. Get mobs to low health, let the hammer get a hit in, and then kill it.
You can complete the first seal with the initial 6 mobs in about 10 seconds.
Everyone can stand in the smaller safe spot right to the left of the seal at the 2nd seal and kill mobs there and hit the seal without every moving.
At the 3rd seal, make sure you only kill one mob at a time on either side. You can get 2 hits on either side before the big pack spawns, since they spawn after both initial chanters die. Then you want to drag the mobs into the hallway, LOS them around the corner, and leave one at low health for the person with the hammer to hit as he runs by to get a charge. The hammer person shouldn’t be stopping to fight mobs, just hit low health mobs as he runs in the hallway. This event can basically be done as fast as it takes to run back and forth between the hallway. I can get 3 hits with one 39 sec debuff. Again, you don’t need to run directly in front of the seal to hit it stand on the side, which lets you hit it quicker and not get knocked back by the shield. You can do this event extremely fast if you are organized. This fractal is by far the one most people don’t know how to do effectively and is really pretty easy overall if your group is smart about things.
Shaman: This one is super easy as well that most people find hard. For the first event, go up on the hill on the right where the flaming boulders eventually come from, you can range and funnel the mobs up the hallway so they are easy to kill. For the last boss, just stay at 1200 range and strafe back and forth quickly, you will never get hit by it’s agony attack. The only other attack at range is the hail of fire he casts which can easily be dodged out of.
Again, should have videos up soon explaining most of this stuff.

If there is an ingame process that allows you to do things quicker and more efficient without the use of 3rd party programs or hacking then “smart” people will take advantage of it. There is no “duty” to do things slower, when an easily accessible method is currently in the game.
I’ve encountered numerous bugs that have wasted my time over the 800+ hours I have logged in this game, many related to quests, DEs, and dungeon events that bug out. Just this weekend I did an Arah run where the NPC bugged out and I wasted about 45 min of my time for nothing. I consider both the positive and negative bugs within a game to balance each other, there will always be bugs, they will eventually be fixed. In the meantime, you are subjected to both the good and bad, I don’t have some secret honor system where I’m going to get screwed by the bad bugs and not take advantage of the good ones.
I “play to win” which means using any ingame mechanic that will let me be more efficient.

DR is a system we continue to examine and modify as trends progress. DR isn’t meant to punish good teams, but to act as a safety net for if an exploit happens and a fix isn’t immediately available.
You should probably look into the length of DR hitting on the 5th run in 2 hours then.
Myself and many organized groups can run almost every single path of every dungeon in 20 minutes or less. I’m actually glad that Fractals don’t have DR because alot of times we’ll speed clear 4 dungeon paths, then do our fractal daily while DR resets.
If you watch my videos, all AC can be done easily in under 20 min per path, all TA can easily be done under 20 min per path, CM1/3 can easily be done under 20 min and CM2 can be done in about 20 min, SE1 and 3 can be easily done under 20 min, CoE1/3 can be done in about 20 min, HotW 1 can easily be done under 20 min and HotW3 in about 20 min, CoF 1 and 2 can easily be done in under 20 min.
Most of these I do in under 15 min regularly. Really the only dungeon that takes longer then 20-25 min for a path in a dedicated and organized group in full exotics + dungeon builds is Arah.
Yes speed runs do involve skipping trash in between event/boss areas, but considering trash isn’t required to be killed and there is no reward for taking time to kill them, I don’t really think it should be considered an exploit which decreases the time of a dungeon run that hits DR. I mean running past mobs isn’t anymore of an exploit then running past mobs in any other area or game.

Yep I’ve been saying this for a while. It’s one of the main reason’s I haven’t pushed to grind out a legendary since I have 4 characters at level 80 with a 5th on the way and I hate being forced to play one just to show off my skin.

I started not skipping him after they increased the silver drops. With omnomberry bars which my group runs you get 14s + a bag + chest for a 2-3 minute fight so it’s more worth it now. Before this, we always skipped him. I probably had over 100 runs without ever fighting him.

Considering the Dredge Fractal is the longest fractal and is unbalanced in the number of events and bosses compared to other fractals, I consider it a balance mechanic :p
They should probably look into the bomb event also spawning way more mobs then you could ever kill at high levels basically requiring you to zerg the door with bombs and plant them before dieing or using things like stealth.

Waste of time, you already kill a bunch of stuff that you can’t run by. If you have more time to play, run another fractal and kill mobs you need to + get tokens and progression instead of derping around killing some bats.

Solid Ocean is always the 4th fractal on even numbers. His chest is different in that it has way better loot, more tokens, and you get a bonus daily chest in the bottom right corner of your screen that either drops 20 tokens in tier 1, or 25+ and the chance of a ring at 10+

So a few cents of me chipping in:
1. Wearing MF gear is not selfish. Its a same choice as wearing full power gear, full precision gear or melee weapon sets only. The complexity of determining that or other build is mathematically superior is imense on its own, without taking out what could or could not be replaced by MF. So the only way to judge would be to run ALL dungeons with ALL class combinations with ALL build variants with at least 2 sets. Come back with your claim that MF corresponds to slower runs when you can prove that statistically for every build.
2. The argument that you are loosing time/efficiency due to having MF is an invalid generalization. Dungeon run does not compose of XXX hp you have to whittle down, and YYY dmg you have to endure/block/dodge. Even if you could prove that on a dps dummy you loose 5-15% overall dps, which obviously is not true for all build variants, that does not have to translate to the same % quicker dungeon. I ll give you a quick numerical example so you can follow:
Two players meet a monster with 900hp. First does 200dmg every second, the other does 180 dmg every second. In your logic, where dungeon has generic XXX hp to be whittled down by your combined stats and dps, first player is more efficient because he has more dps. In real life or in game, due to existance of multiple caps, both are actually equally good, killing each such monster in 5 seconds. 10% dps difference, 0% time difference.
Its easy to directly translate stat loss into time loss because it seems the connection seems simple. It is not, due to complexity of mechanics involved, on more levels then just numerical damage calculations.
3.There is no reason to discriminate between two groups where one does dungeon X minutes faster then the other, in a PUG. You PUG, you accept what it entails, not enforce the group to be your slaves. PERIOD. You want strict control over what other people do, go into a legaly binding contract with them. Sounds extremely silly and elitist when put into context of playing a game for fun.
4. And finally. Anyone with an ounce of brain, should be able to reason out why MF is just a bad stat for any game, and should not have ever been added to a game with personal loot-tables.
Stupidest example ever, 900 health?
Some bosses easily have over 1 million health. So /5 and do your analysis with 200k health now. Now do that over multiple bosses and multiple dungeon runs. You must be an mfer trying to justify how bad you are.

Hard for pugs, not hard for organized groups.
Takes actual good gear, builds, and team work.

Dodge is there for a reason.
Powersuit is very simple. At 10+ he gets a bit annoying since his agony damage comes from an attack you cannot dodge, atleast not the whole attack. I also suppose the people complaining about the powersuit also have huge issues with floor switches, cogwheels and bomb running. All simple tasks if you do it right.
Only issue I’ve had with him is when someone kites him the wrong way and dont understand the cauldrons.
You cant expect swamps, underwater caverns and svanir bashing every single fractal, sometimes you get the longer ones, like collosus and dredgies.
You can dodge the whole attack if you have 2 dodges. I actually prefer the dredge boss over the ice elemental because it’s easier to full dodge its agony attack, but that’s probably because I fought the dredge boss 4 times and the ice elemental only once from 10-20.
I’ve done this at level 20 with 0 agony resist without ever getting downed. Once you figure out where to dodge it’s actually quite easy.

Had two people in my fotm group say they were wearing mf gear after I mentioned it was the slowest group I’ve ever been in.
I immediately blocked them so I never have to play with bads like that again. Thanks for dumb mf decisions and even having it in a MMO in the first place.
