I have a level 80 of every profession and most of them did not even earn their levels. Got them all to level 20 using exp scrolls, spammed dungeons on a level 80 and switched to a lowbie at the end to get the dungeon reward xp to level my alts. I leveled my Engineer from level 34 to 80 by buying those scrolls that increase your level by 1 from the PvP vendors.
I never said 5 warriors was the optimal setup everywhere. 4 warriors and an ele, mesmer or thief probably is, depending on what content you are doing. For harder areas the more guardians you have the easier the content becomes in general. But I’m skeptical about claims of 5 dps eles or thieves outdamaging 5 dps warriors in PvE whilst having as much survivability or utility. We are talking about pugs here, not premades.
I NEVER form groups where I take only certain professions and I never ask anyone to ping gear. Occasionally I do join such groups so I can get that content done quickly because I’m tired. Just because I point out that a 5 heavy team is the easiest way to play the game, it doesn’t mean I only party with heavies. The game is just designed in such a way that a team of mostly heavy armor characters is able to do HUGE amounts of damage due to their cleave, whilst having inherently greater survivability due to higher armor and access to shouts, stability etc. Statistically, a pug team of mostly heavy armor characters or even fully heavy armor characters is in general easier to faceroll with and is in general more successful and faster in completing dungeons and dies fewer times compared to, say a fully/mostly light/medium armor team. This is why we never see LFG saying “lfm light armor only” or “lfm medium armor only” whereas we do see “lfm heavy armor only”.

@Sundar: do you never run high level fractals? If yes then you are doing it wrong. In fractals (especially mossman, archdiviner ect.) you should be aegis tanking the strong bosses, keeping them on you for as long as possible while your team is dealing damage (since there is no aggro mechanic it’s not really tanking, but having full ascended armor really helps for some reason). And your elite serves just that reason. An invul in place of an aegis that is on cooldown and aegis/VoR refresh for condi cleansing (another important aspect of it). Guardians shouldn’t use those skills just for themselves.
I’m neither high enough in fractal level nor do I have the AR do do 30+ fractals. Perhaps someday I’ll get to do them.
I’m about 95% sure he’s joking.
I can’t remember the last time I ever used an elite skill on my Guardian. I just spam skill 1,2,4 and 5 of greatsword while activating the first virtue whenever it is up for the burning and use shouts, reflect and the other virtues to help the team when needed. I find this is more effective than using the elites which take up skill slots. In fact I was thinking of buying the Deluxe upgrade option from the Gem store just so I could use the Wolf summon elite for extra dps on my guardian.
Quoted for satire.
Nope, not joking at all. It’s how I play
I find this is more effective than using the elites which take up skill slots.
If I may ask, what do you use for skill #0 instead of an elite skill? O.o
I use the elite that replaces your weapon skills with healing spells. I don’t even remember its name.
2-man kick system is abusive and needs to be changed:
It happens again today, in Ascalon Catacombs. The party is running a record time dungeon run, nothing is wrong. Then the instance owners says: “I hate NPCs” because Hodgins bugs up and won’t open the door for the 2nd scepter in P1. I then make a joke and say “Ever feel like the people you work with are NPCs?” He kicks me out of the party.
I reported him in-game but it did not ask me for screen shots so I thought I’d post them here. Is there a more appropriate place for a thorough report?
This player’s account is: allpowerfullone.8462
Seriously, the GMs need to read how abusive this is as it is a perfect example of what is wrong with the party kicking system. He prompts a kick and then someone seconds it for no reason and pay attention to how disrespectful this player is. More proof that it is more often the kicker, that should be kicked. Not the kickee.
Can I get some kitten justice on this for once? Or is a-net ok with this type of behavior?
Look how confident this guy is that arena-net will not do anything to him.
Did he kick you from the party or did he just leave the party, causing the rest of the party to be kicked out of the instance (since he was the instance owner)? I’m curious because if you were kicked, how come Ozz the Powerful was talking to you on Party chat after the kick?
I agree and since their philosophy behind these QoL improvements is to remove restrictions, I think they might reconsider this at some point.
Why not add a physical wardrobe in towns or home instances or perhaps a player house where you need to go to access your wardrobe rather than just making it available on the Hero Panel? I think it would make the game more immersive, albeit less convenient.
Allowing guesting and dungeon runs between NA and EU would be absolutely amazing. It would be like merging two communities into 1, twice the number of players. Please do it.
The new wardrobe system along with the account wide dye unlocks and the ability to redistribute traits anywhere while out of combat, sounds absolutely fantastic. I feel genuinely optimistic about this game now and can’t wait for the April Feature pack. It’s amazing how tweaks like this add SO much to the game.
Having said that, class balance is still pretty bad. I want to see professions like the Necro be buffed and able to compete with other professions in dungeons and fractals.
It’s not that I kick rangers, but rather people with terrible attitudes, the list of which happens to have you at the top.
Get off your high horse.
Look, mate, there are plenty of people who judge/kick someone only because he plays a certain class, which i am free to find wrong. I’m not defending those who play bad, only the class itself. I rarely have problems with playing any class (i got them all on lvl80) and i really don’t see why people sometimes kick me even before i am able to say “hi” (at least they could give me a chance, to change my char). They have no idea of how bad or good i play. Those are the people on a high horse.
Everything i do is to decide on my own what class i play and if anyone complaints about those issues we all are aware of, it’s absolutely okay to give them an advice as i did. So i apologize if you are incapable of understanding this, but i have to let you know i really don’t care. Have a nice day.You still don’t get why you’re being kitten on in this thread, do you? It has nothing to do with you playing your ranger, but rather your sucky defensive attitude in here. Right off the bat you’re assuming that I’m a ranger hater. Guess what? I’m training a ranger too for dungeons. If I hated the class, would I have bothered?
Good day to you too, although I hope you dismount that horse before someone shoots you off it with your own bow.
There are plenty of people who kick people just for being a particular profession, even if that person isn’t even on the same map so the argument that they kick only because of a particular weapon choice or play style doesn’t hold.
Guardian and Warrior would be the obvious picks. A full zerk guardian is much easier to stay alive with than a full zerk warrior because of the constant regen from virtue and so many utility skills that heal and remove conditions, not just from you but your teammates as well.
This was possible in GW1 where maps were instances but it would be hard to do here because then even characters who haven’t finished the personal story would be able to visit the cleansed Orr which would be odd.
New class is a no no. Pretty much everything has been covered already and adding new professions would only add to the imbalance that already exists. They should balance the existing classes first. New races would be great but they should still just balance the classes first before starting something new.
It is a statistical obligation that certain things will always be the individual “best”; the real err is in the pug logic of assuming that stacking those individualist “bests” — heavies only — will be even more optimum, instead of diversifying for more party buffs since it is no longer an individual crusade. They don’t try to compliment each other all all. They’re just stacking ketchup and meanwhile mustard is pretty kitten nice.
The idea is so encompassing that not even saying “heavies only”, but posting “DPS only,” results in far too many 5 warrior teams, and it hurts.
So the epidemic is not an epidemic of class imbalance, it’s an epidemic of practicing stupidity. But that’s why they’re pugs! It’s like a warm-up for hard mode (if they ever get around to it).
But what’s the point in diversifying to get different (not necessarily more) buffs when you can just take 5 warriors and faceroll everything before enemies have a chance to do any damage? Sure it’s more fun but when people are running dungeons for money or achievements they want to be as efficient as possible.
Then why are you insinuating that people looking for efficiency should be taking more than 2 warriors? You’re contradicting yourself. I know you don’t want people to be taking heavies only but what you said implies that you believe it’s efficient to stack up a team with warriors.
I usually leave a team if it has more than 1 other warrior aside from me (for FotM). It’s so wasteful to NOT have an ele, a guard, a mesmer, or a thief.
As far as dungeons are concerned it’s the same thing. You only want two warriors because it’s a pain in the butt to carry two banners and pugs are bad at helping with that.
Because in most cases, taking 5 warriors IS the most efficient way to play, especially in PUG’s. Maybe 4 warriors and 1 guard/mes/ele/thief, depending on the content you are doing. But damage wise nothing beats 5 wars.
Zerker will always be the most efficient way to play the game. The only way I can think of to make defensive stats viable is to bring back the holy trinity. Think about it. If tanking is not viable, what’s the point in building tank gear? Regardless, Condition damage will still be subpar because of the condition cap, which will never change because of the stress of servers.

The OP is right. While it is by no means impossible to get into high level fractal or dungeon teams with any profession (or form one), heavy armor professions have ALWAYS been much better options ever since the game came out. There are a few reasons for this. They have greater survivability due to the heavy armor and bring lots of utility to the team in the form of shouts, banners and virtues while dealing just as much, if not more damage than other classes due to their autoattacks which can cleave. In addition to this, the guardian also brings stability and reflect for the team, two ridiculously strong mechanics that make content significantly easier. This has always been the case and I don’t think it is ever going to change. We have just grown to accept this now.
You talk about being kicked from parties for maining a ranger. Try getting into a team as a Necro, it’s even worse.
I don’t do enough WvW or PvP to say whether all professions are balanced in those modes but in PvE they are certainly not. Guardians and Warriors have always been top tier. Mesmers, Eles and Thieves are mid-tier(situational). Depending on what content you are doing, having one of these professions can be helpful (for eg. mesmer in cof p1 gate area for portal, thief in dredge fractal for stealth bombing, ele in ac p3 for ice bow). There is a reason why Engis, Rangers and Necros are so rare in dungeon and fractal parties, especially necros. They have always been bottom tier.
I’m not biased, I have a level 80 of every profession and even though the Necro was my first character I hardly ever play him anymore. I find myself switching between Guardian and Warrior pretty much all the time, sometimes switching to Mesmer or Thief depending on the content I’m doing.

I haven’t been playing much for the last couple of months and I hear they are introducing new traits and changing the way critical damage works. Back when I used to play a lot, necros were considered the worst class for dungeons and fractals because they brought very little to the team compared to other classes while doing average damage. Is this still the case or have they been buffed to rival the top tier classes like Warrior and Guardian?
I agree with you that critical damage is not the problem. All my level 80 characters are full zerker and even after the patch I’m not going to change any of their gear because zerker will still be the most efficient way to play the game. Why? Because of the way the game is designed, with every class having healing, condition removal, healing being very weak and a lack of a conventional aggro system to make tanking viable and broken game mechanics like reflection, corner stacking and vigor. If it is possible to avoid damage altogether by using these mechanics then why bother taking defensive stats? I read on another thread where they said that because each condition stack takes up server bandwidth, they are not going to bother removing the 25 condition cap so basically condition builds will never be as good as direct damage builds.
Having said that, they claim that nerfing critical damage is only the first step and that they are going to take other measures which will hopefully increase build diversity. I think they should balance out the classes by creating new skills for every profession because at the moment some classes like the Guardian bring just so much utility for the team while still running DPS builds whereas professions like Necromancer are despised in dungeon teams because they bring almost nothing. Heavy armor classes in general are just too good.
Although I doubt there are that many people who would want to do their story quests again, there is no downside to allowing it. Would be nice if you could find a NPC in your home instance who lets you replay any of your completed personal missions, similar to the Scrying Pool in Eye of the North. Similar to the Zaishen Missions in GW1 they could have a daily rotation of personal story missions with decent rewards such as laurels for completing them. This would give players aanother incentive to visit the home instance and also make it easier for people looking for groups to do Arah story with.
This is a roleplaying game and changing race would be very unrealistic. By the time you finish making a character and do your tutorial you have already made some permanent, irreversible choices about your character which would affect your personal story. Changing race would mean you have to make changes there too.
There is no disadvantage in having multiple characters because things are like map completion and ascended items are not really required. Exotic armor and weapons can be obtained with dungeon tokens, accessories can be purchased from the Trading Post and backpacks can be purchased from Guild Armorers.
One advantage in having multiple characters is that each character gets their own birthday presents every year so the more characters you have the more goodies you can get even if you don’t play them. Sometimes there are special event achievements which are easier if you use multiple characters because there is a limit to the number of times you can activate something on 1 character so after activating it onec you can log on another character and activate it again which would let you finish the achievement faster.
During the latter half of 2013 they said they would be adding more long term content to the game and they have started to do that.
Since you quit the game around the time of the Southsun patch I am not sure if you are familiar with the Fractals of the Mists dungeon. It is a dungeon in which you have to a finish a set of 3 random maps and then a boss map after which you get a reward. After finishing it once you are able to do the dungeon again at a higher difficulty with better rewards. While there is no difficulty cap the rewards cap out at level 50. You are able to get Fractal tokens which can be used to make Ascended accessories and backpacks, which have better stats than Exotic accessories and backpacks. It is even possible to get an Ascended ring as a reward at the end of the dungeon. Over the months they have added maps from older Living Story content to the Fractals dungeon although sadly, you will still not be able to get those unique rewards.
They have also replaced one of the paths of the Twilight Arbor dungeon with a new , much more difficult path, which you might want to try. They also overhauled Tequatl, the dragon boss that spawns in Sparkfly Fen/Swamp (I always get the name of this map confused between GW1 and GW2).

The other day I met a new player at Wayfarer Foothills who was asking basic questions about the game and his character and there was nobody else on the map to answer his questions or help him out with hearts or events. I went out of my way and took him to Lion’s Arch and then to Divinity’s Reach and then Queensdale before taking him to the 4 zerg waypoints in Queensdale and then teaching him how to zerg. If I hadn’t done that
What happened to the end of the story?
Haven’t heard from him again so I’ll assume he either found a guild or someone else in Queensdale to help him out. Had I not helped him out I think there was a good chance of him losing interest in the game and quitting.
Most maps other than Queensdale (the human starting town), Lion’s Arch(the central town) and Frostgorge Sound are dead most of the time, unless there are world bosses up. Even on these maps people don’t talk much on map chat apart from pinging what bosses are up and this leads to a very boring, unsocial environment, especially for new players.
This has been one of my complaints about this game too for a while. There was a patch back in August (Queen’s Jubilee) which changed the drops of champion type monsters, which turned the game into the farm fest that it is today.

Critical damage is not the problem. The problem is game mechanics like reflect, corner stacking and even dodging which allows players to avoid damage altogether without any defensive stats and coupled with the fact that everyone has their own healing skill and condition removal and healing and tanking not being viable in this game due to heals being weak and the lack of an aggro system, stacking as much damage as possible and killing things before they kill you will always be the meta.
Elementalist hands down. So much variety in spells between the four elements and in addition to that they can conjure a number of weapons, each of which have 4 or 5 flashy skills of their own.
I don’t think critical damage is the only problem here. I think the problem is that because they want to do away with the trinity they intentionally made tanking and healing weak in this game and because every profession has damage, healing and condition removal and there are mechanics like dodging, reflection, stealth, corner stacking, downed state it makes very little sense to take defensive stats because you get 1 or 2 hit by most bosses anyway unless you dodge. Even if they nerf critical damage people would still take only offensive gear, maybe condition damage would become more popular but I don’t think people would ever take healing and defensive gear. If they make true tanking and healing viable then that would contradict their manifesto so I don’t think there is a solution for this problem.
Sea of Sorrows is pretty much the unofficial Oceanic server so you shouldn’t have trouble finding people to play with there. Not sure about the ping although I don’t think ping affects the game that much.
I would also like to see them buff professions like the Necromancer who bring very little to the team and are seen as a liability in parties. Heavy Armor classes seem to be way more useful than other classes in dungeons and fractals. I’m talking about PvE, I don’t do enough PvP or WvW to know if classes are balanced there.

I’ve never really been able to get into Sylvari even though I have one (ranger). They all have a blank stare on their faces which makes them look like lifeless puppets/dolls and many of them look like humans with some kind of skin disease. Go to Youtube and look for the “Tree Man” and you will see what I mean. They’ve also always felt out of place among the other races, probably because they did not exist in GW1.
I agree that they need to find a way to make other towns worth visiting but I don’t think a free teleport would solve it. I am not sure what would solve it really because LA is more accessible and convenient. The Home Instance serves very little purpose, the last time I visited it was while I was doing one of those Drinking minigames which were added as part of the Living story way back. One thing they could do is to finally implement the long overdue player housing system that was being talked about quite a bit after the game’s release. Towns are not the only maps that suffer this, apart from Queensdale, Frostgorge Sound and a few other maps, most maps in the game seem to be dead on most servers because unless you are doing world completion there is very little reason to visit most of the maps. They need to find ways to make more maps worth visiting more frequently.
It is possible to make every class work but Necros, and to a lesser extent Rangers and Engineers have always been seen as weak classes that don’t bring much to a team, particularly Necros. People often leave a team if they see more than 1 Necro in it. I don’t think they are that bad but yes I think your best bet would be to play either a Heavy Armor class or Mesmer/Ele/Thief because they all bring something useful for the entire team such as Time Warp, Feedback, Ice Bow, Fiery Greatsword and Stealth. The Necro was my first character and is still my main character and favorite class to play but I seldom play him nowadays because I am far more successful in PUG’s as something else. Don’t let this demotivate you though, just play what you like.

This is a great idea. It is hard to even tell that there is a day and night cycle unless we look closely. I would like there to be a clearer distinction between day and night and perhaps even weather affects like rainfall and dust storms to be added in the future. They could maybe even change the way the world becomes according to the day/night cycle. For example have nocturnal creatures spawn at nights and have NPC’s become less active.
No offense but I don’t think that would work. This is a roleplaying game and your race determines your personal story. Changing your race would be very unrealistic and kill immersion. There are choices in the character selection screen and personal story which are unique to every race so by the time you finish making a character you have already made some irreversible choices that are available to only that race, which affect some of your early missions. For example if you are in the Ash Legion and become a Norn you would either have to do the Norn’s early missions again which would be weird or you will still be in the Ash Legion and Rytlock will still be the guy who asks you to join one of the orders and so on.
I don’t think this would be healthy for the game because reaching the max level in this game is a lot faster and easier than in other MMO’s and in a game that is often criticized for not having much end-game content, the variety of races and professions is the main reason for us to make multiple characters. Giving us the option to change a character’s race at any time would lower the replay value of the game in addition to reducing immersion. But then who am I to say what options players should and should not have. I can just choose not to use it even after it is added :P
your ‘personal’ story ends about level 10-20. after that it’s the game’s story.
The choices you make at the character selection screen are irreversible and affect some of your missions. How would you change that retrospectively? Also after you join one of the three orders, what races you can choose to help (Skritt, Quaggan, Hylek etc) is also determined by your race so the Personal Story doesn’t end at level 20.
You can usually buy Jeremy Soule’s soundtracks from DirectSong (www.directsong.com) but unfortunately the Guild Wars 2 soundtrack doesn’t seem to be available there, presumably because he is no longer involved in making music for the game. A lot of the music in Guild Wars 2 is taken from the original Guild Wars soundtrack, which is still available on DirectSong so you might be interested in that. Otherwise I’m afraid you will just have to download them off Youtube. Oh and ArenaNet also has a soundcloud page to which they sometimes upload new music from the Living Story. https://soundcloud.com//arenanet

I think all MMO’s need some level of grind to survive otherwise people will get bored and leave. Compared to other MMO’s there is not as much grind in this game unless you like to get every achievement point and be on the leaderboard or get legendaries/ascended items. All of these things are for hardcore players who got bored and complained that there wasn’t much to do in the game and aren’t really required.
Only thing that annoys me is that they release Living Story content every 2 weeks, which is just overkill in my opinion and many of the Living story achievements are a grind. To be fair though, nowadays it has gotten better, in the past, living story achievements were even more tedious. Still I hope they start releasing Living Story content on a monthly basis rather than every 2 weeks.
(edited by Sundar.1735)
I don’t play SPvP apart from when I’m doing Daily PvP, which I don’t really do everyday. The reason I don’t play it is that somehow I really don’t like it. PvP in GW1 was more addictive, especially the Random Arena, even when I wasn’t very skilled at it. I find GW2 PvP combat to be boring in comparison to GW1 and while I admit I’m even less skilled in GW2 PvP than I was in GW1 PvP, that is not the reason I can’t seem to like it.
I agree with the TC mostly. I used to get every achievement point I possibly could and wanted to be on the leaderboard but there are just too many dailes and monthlies in addition to the bi-weekly living story achievements (many of which are temporary) that it actually became stressful because I had to force myself to log in everyday even if I didn’t feel like it. This is why I quit the game back in August and came back about a week ago. Now I no longer care about Achievement Points. I used to blame the game for forcing me to log in everyday and grind Achievement Points but I have since realized that it was my mistake so I no longer have any issue with this. It is just as it should be, hardcore players who spend more time and effort on the game should have more achievements to brag about.
I have mixed feelings about the Living Story. The lore was interesting initially because Living Story was a new concept at first but it got boring really quickly for me and the only reason I bother with it anymore is for the unique rewards (skins, minis etc) and Achievement Points. As soon as a New Living story patch is out I just head to Dulfy and read how to get achievement and do them as I read. I just can’t seem to get interested in the story. New content every two weeks is just overkill and the living story quests are generally repetitive and grindy. The bright side is that some of the Living Story content is really well done like the Zephyr Sanctum and the cutscenes in the latest one were very well done which gives us the impression that ANet are putting in a lot of effort.
I won’t complain about Ascended items because they are not really needed. The difference in stats between Exotic and Ascended is not much and there is no content in the game that is hard enough to not be able to beat with Exotic (apart from high level fractals). Ascended items are for those people who complained that GW2 lacked an endgame and that they needed something to work on to stay interested in the game so if you find it grindy, I suggest you don’t bother getting them. Exotic items are fine. You can still get the ascended trinkets with Laurels and from Fractals. I share the same view on Legendaries as well. If you find them tedious to work on, stop working on them
My biggest issue with the game right now is how empty most maps are. It seems all players are either in Queensdale, Frostgorge and sometimes in Cursed Shore zerging champions and events. All the other maps seem to be Ghost towns. I would like Anet do more to encourage players to visit the other maps. I know they are aware of this and have been trying to address this but so far they haven’t. This gives the impression that the game is dead. I miss how large the game world felt back in August 2012 when every map had lots of people talking about how beautiful the map was.
(edited by Sundar.1735)
I can’t really think of any more professions that can be added to the game for any armor type because all the mechanics I can think of have been covered already. For example the Guardian class is a mix of Dervish, Monk, Ritualist and Paragon from GW1. So adding a Dervish profession for example would feel redundant because Guardians can already do what Dervishes did which was to be a melee caster class that relied on enchantments (boons) and could heal. Guardians and Warriors already do what Paragons did which was support the team with Shouts. They could maybe add Spears to the game but not an entire profession. All the professions in GW2 are more all-round compared to classes in GW1 and other MMO’s and because of this we cannot have many classes.
I think the best they could do is add new weapons or maybe rework some weapons for some classes in order to give more variety to gameplay. I miss Scythes from GW1 so they could add them back and maybe allow Necromancers and Guardians to use them, although I think the Greatsword is somewhat of a replacement. They can maybe bring back the Deep Wound condition from GW1 and maybe even hexes but I’m not sure that would work. Adding a profession is impossible in my opinion because we already have all types of mechanics covered.
(edited by Sundar.1735)
I never bothered with world completion on my alts ever since I got my first character 100% world completion and this is one of the reasons I have decided not to bother making any legendary weapons, it’s just too tedious for my liking. At the same time I don’t think they will or should make world exploration or crafting account-wide, in a way it already is, in that you get an achievement/title/badge at character select which is basically the game acknowledging that you have already done it once so you don’t have to do it again. If they make these things truly account-wide then there wouldn’t be much to do in this game but events and dungeons. In the very distant future towards the end of GW2’s lifetime they may do this because they made some titles like survivor and drunkard title on GW1 easier by making comparable changes but for now they certainly won’t.
The living story stuff is stuff to do, while an expansion is worked on. It doesn’t replace an expansion.
As for having to do it, you need to learn to limit yourself if it’s causing you stress. No one should have to be stressed over a game.
I would have agreed with that if these events didn’t give so many achievement points and if the rewards weren’t account/soulbound but most of the time they are and they look really good. New content like the Super Adventure Box, Wintersday Bells and Crab toss were great, even though I didn’t participate much in them. I also don’t mind permanent additions to the game which give achievement points. I just dislike boring, grindy tasks like killing 300 holograms, in addition to the tedium of doing the dailies and they don’t even last very long so I’ll have to do them somewhat quickly. Yes I know no one is forcing me to do them and it is me who chooses to do them but that’s how I am and when I do many of these achievements I just find them to be repetitive and get the feeling that they’re making new content for the sake of making it. If they reduced the number of achievement points or made it so most of the temporary content give rewards but not necessarily achievement points I’d gladly choose not to do them.
Of course nobody’s physically forcing us to play the new content but I’m a completionist who likes to complete every game I play 100% and at first I found the achievement points in GW2 very motivating, now I just find it stressful. The only reason I bother doing the living story tasks is that they give achievement points and most of the rewards are soul or accountbound which means I will not be able to purchase them later so this is practically forcing me to do them and to be honest I find many of the tasks themselves incredibly boring, tedious and grindy in nature. Also there are so many bugs in this game that they seem to ignore just to release living story content.
I find the achievement point system in GW2 very stressful. Even when I am bored of the game and don’t feel like playing it on a particular day I force myself to do the dailies because I don’t want to end up with a lower achievement point total than my friends. The living story content only makes this worse for me because they keep releasing new stuff every few weeks and quite frankly I do the living story achievements only for the points and rewards, I don’t find the tasks themselves any fun at all, just tedious and the worst part is that they keep releasing new stuff like this regularly without fixing any bugs. The party system, friend list, guild list and instance bugs have been prevalent for several months now and this makes the game less fun to play with friends. They’ve also made dungeons too hard in my opinion, it’s incredibly stressful to do dungeons with friends who haven’t done them before. People say GW1 had too many skills which made the game hard to balance, well with this game they claimed to have done away with the trinity of tanks, nukers and healers but Guardians, Warriors and Mesmers are just so much better than other professions in pretty much every way to the point where people only want these classes in dungeon and fractal teams. Even among these classes only people running specific builds such as zerker builds are accepted for speedruns so it’s not as if speedclears don’t exist in this game. Most parties avoid necros, rangers and engineers and only take them if they couldn’t get anyone else. At least in GW1 you ahd the option to pick one of the stronger professions as your secondary to make up for your primary profession’s weakness but GW2 doesn’t give you that option either, furthermore GW1 gave you henchmen and heroes which meant you didn’t have to rely on finding players as we do here. This gave you more freedom to run whatever build you want and pick henchmen/heroes to make up for whatever your team lacked.
tldr; Dailies and Daily PVP shouldn’t give achievement points. They force completionist players like myself to log in and do them everyday even when I want to take a break from the game. Either make living story content more fun to do or stop releasing them altogether, they only add to the stress of doing dailies and monthlies and please fix the existing content in the game instead of releasing new content every few weeks.

Nope I still have this problem. Often it shows me as offline on guild list and friend list and when I try to party someone it shows me as offline and the party members can’t see me as on the map and minimap. Also when I invite people to a party and they join the party, on their screens it still shows them the party invite and the option to either accept or reject the invite even after they’ve joined the party. Many times people are not able to enter the instance that I am in(dungeon) either. This is incredibly frustrating and ruining my in-game experience and from what I’ve heard it has been happening to a lot of people. Please fix it.
I’ve heard coe is more profitable than cof but I haven’t done much of coe because cof is shorter and easier to learn. A lot of people farm in Orr, Frostgorge and Southsun but I find that kind of farm more monotonous compared to dungeon runs. I’m sure farming in those areas is more lucrative especially once you hit dr in cof.
