Please make it so that players cannot attack before and after a structure pvp match.

It is uncivilized and it breeds contempt.

this is an e-sport, not I must kill that other person contest :p when the game is over you stop. God, so annoying.

Question:
Do players get points for kill before and after the match, during waits/loading?

If the above answer is a yes and skills aren’t disabled before and after a match, might I suggest an alternative that no points will be added.

Living Story Letter - Account Bound

When Flame and Frost first arrived, all my characters received the same letter in repetition.

Now only one of my character received the letter. Which is good, uncluttering the mailbox, the bad part and part I don’t understand is why is this type of letter which is account bound, because only one character needs to complete the task, not accessible by all the characters in that account?

Why it needs to be account bound: because if character A received the letter, but its low level, and players need character B to do the task, and she will have no access to that letter.

Please to make sure in future that they are account bound, thanks.

I dislike Trahearne because he made me feel like he is dodging fights all the time. like okay, you go kill all the baddies while I stay here and study our next move.

He is also projected like an emo kid, after completing a personal story “section” he had to run away, make the players go look for him in the air ship, just so that section of the story could end. peekaboo...at the end when everyone was celebrating he had to hide .... and players have to go and beg him to come join in the celebration, what the heck was that

Also, if I was playing a Sylvari and Trahearne is introduced into the personal story line, i could maybe understand it, but in every personal story, there he is! I thought we were going to be involve more with Destiny’s Edge, not that they are any more interesting… or a separate/different “guide” for each race. He single-handedly made replying personal story dull. (beside the stingy rewards)

Tybalt was a very good character, make more like him.

I played the dungeon twice.

first time the prisoners all get lock inside the facility when we got away, so, when i repeated it a second time, i thought, if i stay behind with the prisoners, the game won’t shut me out, so i ran behind them.

But, I did get lock inside the facility and I was like! Woohoo! i am going to get buried in this dungeon. started to say bye bye to party members….

and then i get teleported to the “giant trolly” thing ….

I say! burried us if we failed to get out and have to run the dungeon until we managed to get out alive with all the prisoners!

However give us the rewards :p but not the achievement until its done properly, thanks

Guild Wars 2 has this [Scale according to crowd size “thing”] (i don’t know whats its called) so why not use it for dungeons as well?

Don’t have to limit dungeon to 5 persons make it 1 – X numbers.

The Game Environment desperately needs a Dueling Arena, for everybody, the one that wants to duel and those that don’t want to duel.

Why? because people who whats to duel, they get interrupted when they use the battleground to duel, and the people who aren’t dueling have to leave and soemtimes the game keep sending them back to the exact same game!

Different Color for Commander tag

In my humble opinion, commander’s tag need to have different color choices, so that

1) we know where our commander is at all time even when we get seperated.
2) upon joining squad (no one seems to be using that now) our dots’ color will follow that of the commander.

Events that takes longer to change making the world more “Living”

See a well, we may get water to water the plants. Outcome (tally by how many players do A or B in X period of time, A] crops bloom. after x period of time when you revisit, the area may be infested with pests or taken over by bandits. B] Crops died, Hunger, villager move away etc

See a wolf chasing a villager, A] we chase off the wolf, B] we kill the wolf. A] wolf turns out to be a norn, they are grateful. etc. B] Its relative taken the villager hostage .

*This is not related to the Hearts. because its not “instant reward” targeting one player, this happens as we travel the land of Tyria, and its reaction is related to actions of a collection of players. we help along the way, at the end of x time, our goodwill will tally and the outcome remold the world and the rewards we gets.

Couple problems with this.

1.) It’ll encourage people to only follow highly ranked commanders. And when certain commanders dominate the commanding during the day, they are going to strech far ahead of others. People would rather follow the rank 10 than the rank 1, when both could be equally skilled.

2.) Which brings me to my next point, you don’t know how much experience this person has at rank 1. For instance, Moorta from deso recently got his guardian to 80 and bought a commander tag on it. He has days upon days of commanding experience on his main, but he’d be rank 1 on his alt. His commanding experience is the same, but people will only see a number.

3.) New commanders NEED people to follow them so they can learn what they are doing. Commanding is a trial and error experience. You don’t just turn a tag on and learn how to command, it takes practice.

So think you should follow whomever is commanding a map. it’s helps everyone if you let someone lead. If you don’t like something they are doing, whisper them. My guild always says that if you think a commander is doing something incorrectly, let them know. Be polite. Ect. It helps them to be better commanders.

Yes, potentially good commanders do need people to follow them and they do need people to tell them when they are bad. But they have to help themselves to get help from the players.

It is also true some players will know a good commander from a bad one, but most time they do not, I called it the lemmings syndrome. It is true, some commanders will become better over time and it is also true some don’t get better at all.

You know how many people voice up when there’s a bad commander? Zero or maybe just me. You know why? Because you will get slaughter, you will be alienated if you voice up against a commander. To make matter worse, players actually praise them … when they were lead to their doom on multiple occassions (like 90% of the time), over a period of a week (that I know of), they also run away to escort Dolyak calling players to defend the fort when enemies are at the gate. They also have a zerg filled with supply, yet never build any siege or repair any walls. If a commander is behaving that way, I am suspecting that they are spy. If someone is purposely making things worse, they should not have people following them at all.

Renown Hearts - More Dynamic

I know Hearts aren’t dynamic event, and it is exactly that, that I am suggesting this, making them more dynamic.

I am using Aid Fort Salma as an example (because i am there repeating this quest for the fourth time.)

Number 1
How it can be more “dynamic” instead of it being a “kill ten rats”.

Now, we have a bar that if it is filled you’ve capture the Hearts of the people, (in this case) by disarming spike traps, putting out burning bushes, etc.

How about this: if we managed to put out the fire before it reaches the buildings in Fort Salma, we get the heart filled? Or preventing and or saving npc from spike traps.

If we can’t make it in time, the people will not like you, and we have to do it another time, this is not to impost a grind, it makes it more dynamic / real more re-playability.

I think the latter would be a much nicer way to get the hearts. after one level 80, there’s not much replayable quality if they remain un-dynamic.

Number 2)
3-5 Hearts NPCs to choose from, and they all have different Karma items to trade. when we want these item, we have to repeat the task to get them, IE A has bananas, chef ingredients, but we have B’s hearts , so now we must gain favors with A to get to buy their bananas.

We still get one heart to filled for Fort Salma, but we get to choose which task to complete and gaining which NPCs heart. Instead of Sergeant Yarbrough’s task, why not Plingg the Merchant. for instant, we travel from east to west, along the way we’ve harvested cooking materials, woods etc, we can trade this with Plingg for their hearts.

I think this number 2 is even better because, (according to my playstyle) if I’ve completed a heart, I would have no other reason to re-visit that place unless I am leveling another character, I suspect some players won’t even bother because they could level by crafting alone.

Commander - Rank

I cannot think of a better word than Rank at the moment to describe what I am suggesting. It can be word. What I want is for players to know how good the commander they are following instead of blindly following someone who has no idea what they are doing.

Clarification:
This is solely from a foot soldier point of view. I don’t know what the commander can do when they activate the icon in WvW. I follow them because more players playing together have better outcome in a WvW situation when the commander knows what they are doing. Unless I’ve been playing with them for a bit, I will have no clue if they are really good or they just have a glorify icon above them.

Will a commander ranking bring more good then bad to WvW? How shall they receive this ranking?

1) strike a pose (pose for screenshot)
2) show off your weapons – posing with weapons
3) Change the background of the Character Selection Screen to include characters name and rank
4) emotes enabled in character selection screen.

Character’s animation related to weapons
Profession: Ranger
Weapons Involve: Great sword and longbow
Location: In both Pvp and Pve instances.

I am not sure if this is a bug or my computer rendering capability cause it to be so.

The allege bug: switching weapon from great sword to longbow. Character’s animation stuck, while skill bar is displaying longbow skills, animation remain those belonging to great sword.

Happened more than 3 times.

Pop Up Chat Boxes Irregularity. I’ll keep updating this thread whenever I see one of the same. Attached sample screenshots of the “irregular” pop up chat boxes

Ability to Kick Leader

When a leader go missing, log out or AFK in a dungeon, there’s nothing the rest of the party can do about it, because if you kick them from the group, your whole group gets kick from the dungeon.

There’s a problem thou, sometime you enter a game where players say they are dueling. which means you have to leave, because there’s no point staying. It only make them hate you.

before you assume anything, no i do not leave a game (unless someone specifically said they are dueling) not even when i am the only player left. because the game will adjust itself to balance the teams. because i have limited play time, i don’t need to be wasting them on finding the “perfect” game.

The point I am trying to make is, not all pve-er are noobs in pvp. Please do not remove laurels from pvp, I am having lots of fun with solo-q, might shift my play style in the future too.

Uh……is this a tournament? Because you just got super carried.

Yet another reason why people don’t understand tournaments. Personal gloy does not automatically equate to being good. This is the most common mistake by pve’ers i’ve seen.

And it really depresses me that people think they are better than the players who defend the points. Cap/leave will always get you more points than staying around to defend.

Also you only won by 40? Against that low ranks? man so bad.(4v5 even)

Even if you didn’t play hotjoin, still a complete newbie.

Yes it was a Tournament. No, I don’t think I am better, that was to show, that, even when new players join spvp, they know what to do. Even if they don’t because players in the mist don’t tell you anything, even when you ask nicely, and having this kind of solo-queue is exactly how new players gonna learn.

Yes, I was sort of protected, however, I would not exactly say carried by the other 4 players, because I was the one running around capping and communting for the points to keep going, if you look at the screenshot, the other team were 39 points behind, and look at what ranks they are. They are ranked even lower, for them to be able to reach that point against 4x rank 40+ players, in a situation like that, you should know better what the game was like, killing spree, because easy prey, the 4 kills on me was because some players were chasing me while I was trying to get to other nodes, I had to fight them off. that, in my humble opinion, is the way the game should be played, you fight when you need to, not like some thief, hiding to sprung on you, sometime when the game is over they are still trying to kill you because they failed at surprise attacks. Its just hilarious when you do that.

So far, mesmer is the hardest to counter. I hate them :P

Lastly, solo-queue = random players, everyone knows that, if random players are what you don’t like, why are you solo queuing?

You weren’t there in that particular game, did you? these players were defending one spot, if you look at the rank 6 on the other team, they are smart, they capture node, if I hadn’t turn those back to my color and go for the easy kill, we would have lost.

The problem i see at hand is, there are over thousands of dynamic events spread across land of Tyria, yet players only concentrate on a few, and repeatedly try to get more loot on a daily basis, resulting in some maps being left empty, this is unhealthy, it is repetitious, boring and in a worse case scenario, grind will be use to describe your game which it is trying to steer clear of.

That is why, sometime ago, I suggested this
Now I want to elaborate on the above suggestion.

How do you get players interested in the thousand of dynamic events spread across the world of Tyria? Making this a truly Dynamic, Living, Breathing and Changing Tyria.

One thing that drive players to play are 1) rewards 2) rewards 3) rewards. Don’t kid ourselves here, everyone at some point would want that sparkly animated weapon.

How do you do that? You create Chain Event that is scale to the numbers of player[s] with choices which eventually lead to the map’s end boss who has [a] No Timer [b] More ways of ending an event, ©mega boss fight at the end of the chain event that gives player their chest reward.

How to direct players at these events
1) in the case when a player enter a map with an on going chain event started by other players, they will be notify that said event is going on, if they wish to join, they will be teleported to that location but the event is on-going and they might not get the “full reward” therefore they have a choice of [a] accept to teleport [b] decline, i’ll start my own chain of event *

2) scenario 1 in the case of [b] decline, i’ll start my own chain of event. Player B decide to start their own chian from the beginning, their event will end with the map boss where they are last seen, point where the boss went to after player A ended their chain [player A may have located map boss at X but will end at Z and the boss may turn up in K , Therefore player B’s given choice is dependent will be driven towards K, and so on and so forth when player C starts one and it goes on Changing, say tomorrow player A returns, the map boss may have been driven to M. ever changing world.

Every map need to have a mega boss end chest that rewards players per day per account. How players gets to that chest is is up to how they want to do the chain events. How the chain event change the world will make how they play the next day differently.

It is just an idea. I am not a game coding person nor do I know how to design game but I think if a player can login onto a same map everday and gets to do thing differently, that it would be great.

what we have now is escort npc from point A-B travelling a same route.

my suggestion: let the player choose which route to use to get from A-B atleast 3 choices, more better.

choice sample,
1) hold the point until X npc comes to open up a portal so they can traverse through the portal.

2) travel a shorter route (choice of route A, or B not including the original/usual road) through the thickets, facing more enemies, or even bosses etc.

I was wandering if it would be possible if a single player or multiple players can go into a dungeon for a “training session”.

there will be no enemies, and hence no loot will be awarded, just plain training on certain parts, like map, and jumping puzzles, or swimming with pirahnas without getting gnaw to death, so that one can be familiar with the dungeon map etc.

Secret Garden Jump Puzzle Bug

Map: Mount Maelstrom

Location: Dierdre Steps

What I was doing: trying to finish the jump puzzle very carefully. Then i say i am never leaving this tree because it was so beautiful, then I take one jump forward and die there and then!

Time it happened: approximately in between 7:20am-7:55am server time

Firstly: I’ve search the forum and didn’t find a similar bug reported.

Secondly: I reported this bug using the /bug function in game, with an attached screenshot, which I just now realize, it is not in my screenshot folder, because that screenshot show i fell onto a step and died, practically from one mushroom step onto the next one, which is not even consider a fall.

please, i don’t know what to report, because that’s what happened, its a mystery, worst of all, i have to pay waypoint fees to get out of the situation which was not of my fault.
