I don’t know why players would leave an un-ranked PvP match at the start of the match.
But please do this Arena Net. if players leave an un-ranked PvP match at the very beginning, regardless what they are trying to achieve they should be have rank points take off their account, and be unable to join un-ranked PvP for a day.
too many times I’ve encountered this situation too many times to ignore it, I am thinking they are leaving the supposedly “random” PvP to team up with their friends like what was happening in GW1.
so Please Arena Net do something about it .
there have been positive and negative reviews regarding the latest Dailies. I am on the positive side. but I think It can be improved.
Choosing our own Dailies
how it works
1) list down all of dailies that we can complete in the “All Available Dailies” windows.
2) let the player choose
3) easy dailies gets less rewards (like ambient killers ext)
4) harder dailies gets more rewards *
5) remain same: 3 dailies gives you the dailies rewards chest
6) if players choose to continue they can, but at the maximum of 12 dailies.
- harder dailies are those that takes more time to complete (IMHO, but it all depends on ArenaNet). After all, this boils down to how much time you can spend in the game. so, if you are short of time but you want to complete your daily, choose the fast to complete ones and vice versa.
This rewards everyone.
After this has been in the game for over a week. I can safely say this is a change for the better.
1) when I am in a hurry and do not have my daily 2 hours GW2 playtime, I would log into the game get the reward, log out. The way I see this, it is very much working towards a no grind situation.
2) We have 12 choices to complete our daily and only needed to complete any 3 of this 12s vs needing to complete 5 before, there are also always one really easy task in any of this 3 categories (PvP, PvE n WvW) for completion. This is also really good in maintaining a healthy populace in all 3 areas of the games.
It is a change towards the better in my humble opinion.

for instant, there are 3 changes that I’ve noticed so far in Metrica Province. Which never made sense to me when I was completing them before with my other characters, one was at “The Opticalium” where (before) one have to kill the sparks , get a globe, put then in the storage tank, and we kill another sparks that spawn from it, again and again until we filled up the heart. which in my opinion was, ergh!
{Now} one have to get charged by the sparks and proceed to fill the storage tank with a time limit. ! I like a lot. It made more sense.
And one other with the Blue, Green and Yellow keycards,. nice

In light of the new crafting system (the magnifying glass rocks! thank you ArenaNet), I would like to make a suggestion that would help players get the crafting materials in an even more conveniently manner.
Check box / Watchlist box / Directional thing
What it does.
This check box has 2 options.
Option 1
Checking this box will gives player a direction using the directional compass (the purple arrow) currently available on our screen’s top right hand corner
Option 2
Say i do not want to purposely make the effort/trip to go to a map to get the material I will check option 2, this will create an alert, whereby, when player is near or in the vincinity of the material required to craft the alert will go off.
Example 1:
I need iron ingots. I will activate the check box, the arrow will take me to maps that has abundance of iron ingots.
Example 2:
I like playing WvW, I do not want to make the trip into pve to get iron ingots, or, I want to be playing with friends, we are on various different tasks/maps so i check option 2. When ever i am near iron ingots i get an alert.
Example 3:
involving NPC having the require materials, like Augur’s Stone, when i am near Miyani, and i have option 2 checked, (yes, i know experience crafter would know where to get this) but for someone like myself, who don’t keep track of such thing, if i have checked the miracle Check box for crafting something that needing material a NPC like Miyani, she would wave at me and say you need something of hers for crafting XYZ.
Example 4:
Involving NPC, I can activate Option 1, then i will follow the arrow to, say, Milton, who have Lemons and Nutmeg.
Something in that direction.

In view of the recent back piece craft-able; ie: the Gourmet Chef’s Backpack, I would like to suggest that we be able to craft into our back piece, all back piece, in fact, something that is useful at night.

I found this was being sold on the gem store couple of days ago. Was a bit annoy since I remember it being a part of the Halloween costume in GW1, what I forgot was ….

My solution:
One set of WvW map to rule them all.
How?
Make 3 mini mega servers of Red, Blue and Green side. There are currently 24 servers if I am not mistaken, when season begins, server 1-8 will be alliances. 9-16 will be allinaces, 17-24 will be alliances. when they play they will be playing on the same map, working to build towards the same goal.
How to match up the servers, the matching system will be according to time zone, distributing all the players, so that all the time there are players on the WvW map.
points wise you have Gold Silver Bronze.
Server point wise, will be calculated by the presence of how many players from each server doing how many stuffs in helping out to win in WvW. etc.
could work i think.
1) move them
2) hide them
3) buy guards to watch them – ie: if i know my next shift (player) is coming on at X hour, and there will be a gap of Y hours that possibly has no one to look after my sieges, so I pay the Guards to watch them. etc
4) Planning with the map – make “alteration” to the terrain. – some places, (I took screenshots and measure the distance on the map, for instant , i am in the red keep, north map, i could reach SMC outer wall – i measure this distance, go to a higher ground, same distance and i can’t cover the same distance, so I propose that to be rectify. what you see on map is what you get thing, because placing a siege weapon in the right place and have the player power to watch over them can sometime means victory/losses.
5) perfect spot for sieges. building our own tower and placing a camouflage siege , would be fun, but this is a bit far fetch.

My concern related to “spy accounts” in general, if it is not being taken care of or no solution is found, more spy accounts will be set up in every server.
This particular accounts, in the OP’s post has 400+ achievement points, which I suspect is bought and set up for one purpose, to troll my beloved Tarnished Coast Server in WvW.
What this account does:
1) Is verbally obscene and posts obscene ASCII graphics and generally being rude.
2) Purposely uses up all the keep’s supply during keeps’ upgrading process by dropping sieges at inappropriate/wrong places.
3) Dropping useless sieges on top of and immediately after a commander has dropped sieges to confuse other players into wasting supplies while in a raid/tower taking process
4) Taking over sieges (dropped by commander) and turning them to face the wrong direction that the sieges were meant for.
5) Taking hold of sieges, like rams on gates and catapult on walls, uses them for other purpose, turning them away when players are trying to take down walls and gates.
6) In OP, very obviously the players is destroying assault Golems.
Finally, I am very sure, we in WvW cannot know the opposing server players’ character’s name for very good reasons. Now that we have spies amongst us, our users name are all being compromised!

What is the non story side of the living world, it is the rest of the world of Tyria, it is activities beside the fighting of dragons and villains. Let me explain with the below examples.
Example 1: Plant a good seed get good rewards and vice-versa
Example Location: Rime’s Garden, Village of Astorea, Calaedon Forest
There are shovels but hardly anything you can do with them other then digging out the grub’s tail and then hitting them.
Suggestion: Can do more then just digging for grub. for instant, plant something.
How: Seeds can be collected all over Tyria. normal seeds, master level seeds, rare seeds, exotic seeds etc.
you simply find a farming place in Tyria, plant the seeds, let it grows, next time you come around, you will be surprise with what these seed you’ve planted have help the villages etc or it may bring negative effect as well.
Example 2: Harvest time
Same place: Rime’s Garden, Village of Astorea, Caledon Forest
Suggestion: help out at the garden, (note this is not a heart thing – i will get to hearts below)
How: clear the grubs, like what we do now, (or siimply not enough playerrs are doing it) if enough people help out, come harvest time you will be send part of the harvest as a thank you)
Absence makes the heart grows fonder NOT
Hearts on the map, if you do not maintain your relationship with these “heart” people for too long, like never going to a map for too long (not necessary visiting each heart merchant), those hearts are going to fade off. Off course, you will still have your “been there done that” title, but the heart merchants will not remember you much if you do not visits them. If you constant helping out in one map, they just might give you extra discounts or something better.

I wish there are more interaction between npcs and players in the activities side of things. Throwing of snowballs with the kids are a good starts. also if doing activities with npc in Tyria must make to count towards “Activities Participated” dailies.
Somewhere in the shiverpeaks there’s a rabbit shooting game, i can’t remember where it is. it is very interesting, and i only been there once, and could not find it again. this is such a good game , what i am saying is more things like this that all goes under Activities.
These are just some of the things that constantly bugs me, there are so much more potential with this game, and they are not being made full use of, I wish one day it will all be “Living”

Question: What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
Answer: Skill lag – as in cannot use skills at all, skills loading- able to see the skill icon charging forever but nothing is happening. Switching weapons takes longer than it should. rubber-banding, one time i look at another player running as if they are running on a treadmill, yet when I talk to them they could reply within the next seconds, they told me they are lagging pretty severely, sometime I am so lag, other players do not notice me amongst them, as if everyone else is lagging, so i could just run around casting lots of skills that does damages (this only happened once), worse case scenario – game crashed.

Question: Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
Answer: Yes. today i am not lagging but other players are complaining they are.

Answer: When running in a zerg, if the becomes a giant blob, I will start to lag, Worst time is when another zerg is rushing you, time like this you may get a game crash.

Answer: i wish i know, they are always running tightly together, if i had to guess probably like this 20 people zerg same server – lag
20++ other server zerg coming at you and your zerg – severe lag
anything 50 + people will cause game to crashed

1) this started to happen sometime around the beginning of the last Living Story. the game screen loading takes extremely long. like 5x longer than usual. i could practically make a cup of cappucino and the game still loading. Also usually when the game has load, if i am on a map exploring, i would have already got killed. if i am in town, there would already have 10 lines of map chat.
2) this lag happens not in WvW first, it started “Skill lag” started during the first lion’s arch invasion living story.

give thief or any profession that can go invisible giant visible foot print. i think this be fair, if you don’t learn to see/read the environment, then you get kill.

BTW, in tier/rank means you do not automatically gets all these ability on getting the commander tag, you got to earn it by leveling up, a seperate tier thing.
Regarding the Commander donation closet: I want to donate, in the same time i do not want this donation to be sold or use for something not meant for WvW. Hence the closet. Everyone can see clearly how many siege weapon each commander have , they don’t have to ask for donation, and we don’t have to over donate .
Commandeer a siege weaponry is useful when someone is trying to steal your golem you could take it back before it is broken intentionally. Since it is ArenaNet’s idea that spying is a tactic in WvW, then, at least you must give us something that can counter it.

List of things commanders should be able to do –
1) alone
2) with approval from players (I have thought of some, but they don’t seem so good, like kill spies etc)
Commander tiers, as the tiers go up they gain more abilities.
The list below is not arrange by tiers, I am just listing them down. I will let arena net decide which one will go to which tiers if this is added.
1) ability to commandeer a siege weaponry.
2) camp/tower details windows
3) claiming camps and towers as a commanders not as a guild
4) commander armors
5) commander flags / banner one that don’t need a guild to use < this can be in tier too – see below for how it works
6) commander chat – special color
7) assign tags to other players like Mr Pink, you take 6 peoples , go be the havoc team, and this tag last, like anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. depending on the commanders tier/rank.
8) List self (commanders) on the map – when players get on, they can look at the map’s commander’s roaster, players can join commander’s squad on this roaster, whenever this commander is online and the player who sign up to join their squad will automatically be added to the commanders squad. This “Commander Presence List/Roaster” can be use to let players donate siege weapons to the commander artillery closet, the number of siege weapons will be listed beside the commander’s name.
how commander flags/banner works the basic, like +vitality etc and then there are the one that the commander wears on the person itself. this will be like the effects is a circular , players within that range gets the benefits.

They run too slow. For something 4 legged, Charr running animation bugs me! its like play back a movie in slow motion.
They don’t look good in any armor, especially if they are female. all the armor look ridiculous to this race! I think they need to have something else other than armor, like for instant an adult lion has mane and it meant something to the other lions.

We need a Pantry for all our consumables.
preferably something like the wallet. only this one has to be a little different since some of the consumables are tradable.

So, what I would do if I were the game designer is to make consumables have an additional function when right clicking.
The send to pantry, once a consumables is send to pantry it cannot be retrieve. it will be stockpile until activated, It would be ideal if it can be set to automatically consume.
IE: when you are fighting Flame Legion, and you have +dmg to Flame Legions Consumables in your pantry, it will be activate. and will cool off when you are no longer figithing them, or if you proceed to fight other creatures, other consumables will be activated.
If you look at my guild’s bank. (the guild i represent) everyone dump their food stuffs because no one bothers to use these consumables,
1) most consumables sell for little to nothing.
2) no one uses them since they are not desirables

Just a question, i’ve notice lately that some players are looking like they are leeching the invasion events,
I was in a group with some random players in overflow of an invasion, hence you could see this little blue dots of your teammate on the map. there was this person, idling during the whole thing in one spot the whole time.
The following days, I entered Gendarran Map from Lion’s Arch, while the map was loading, i went to the loo, when I return those few players that was there, who came into gendarran from lion’s arch are still there, so I took the trouble to WP back there when i was downed, and there they are still standing there, idling.
Today. I wp into Herathi with my lowbie character who needed to map Herathi Hinterland, i had 2 wps on this map for this toon, she enters from Gendarran into Herathi. and there , surely are players idling near the entrance again!

What the title says but only for Living story event like Clockwork Chaos. where we have lots of players playing together.
Guild Finisher, available only when a champion is killed, the person from a Guild to do it will lay down a banner that if other players approach, interaction will pop up, giving one of the following in battle,
sample of what the banner buffs
+ damage
or
+healing power
or
revive every down player in the vincinity of the banner.
or
+armor
how many banner(s) and duration of the banner being active will be decided by ArenaNet.

In order to encourage players to bring out their minis, I suggest this:
Do not need to have minis in our bag to activate them
During player log in, they can choose which mini they want to go adventure with the duration of minis existing beside players will have a limited time frame, let use 30 minutes, this then creates a cycle. that renews at a X hours time frame.
Player can also choose not to have mini with them.
or
We can choose to put them on rotation, every time we log in one of our mini in the bank will automatically show up and the next one the next cycle.
Explanation
First batch of players (maximum allow minis per map reached = first batch)- logs in at x hours, their minis last for 30 minutes
Second batch of players will have their minis appears when any of the first batch players log out or their 30 minutes runs out. and so on. activated once every 12 or X hours which ever is suitable.
Before you can do any of the Emissary Vorpp’s achievements, you will need to head to the Crown Pavilion and participate in the story instance Closing Ceremony. At the end of that story instance, you will meet with Emissary Vorpp, who then give you a piece of communication device that is soul-bound (character bound)
Starting from then onwards, The Queen’s Gauntlet and Crown Pavilion area is closed off until players finished Vorpp’s achievements and do the final story instance (Scarlet’s Playhouse), meaning, non of your other character can re-do the Closing Ceremony story instance to acquire another communicator from Emissary Vorpp.
The communicator device that Emissary Vorpp gave to players is soul-bound, which then need to be in your itinery/bag when you go hunting for Champions etc in order to complete the Achievement lines.
Now, what if i had gone to the closing ceremony with a low level character of mine who only have 3 maps at 100% ? I can’t transfer that soul bound item to another character to play this living world . it would take too much effort!
so, please in the future, if there’s such a thing that requires players to carry with them around when doing the living world mission. DO NOT make item require to do living story soul-bound please.

Item is not lost, it is sitting in my bank, I just think that making crafting materials soulbound is a little bit harsh, and also there is no warning what so ever when I was deleting said character.
something like when “you are about to delete a charater that have soulbound item left in the bank , do you want to proceed” etc.
who would have guess crafting materials would be ssouldbound …
oh, I did not send in a support ticket because I don’t understand at all how to use that thing. do i create another email for support or what,? cos it wanted my email address which is why? don’t they already have our email ?

details of my problems:
Said item in the topic is Philosopher Stone, a crafting material exchange using Baubles which I had used my mule character to store and exchange from Moto during the Super Adventure Box events, little did I know that it would be soulbound until too late.
This mule character is of a profession/race that i did not like, now that my number 4 level 80 is getting near (level 78) I decided to delete the mule character and create a new race/profession that I like more.
The result of that decision is less than pleasant, now I have philosopher stones I can’t use sitting in the bank, because it is soulbound to a mule character….
Is there anything that can be done to help me with my predicament?

well, this is an ArenaNet forum, I do not want to waste anymore of my time talking to random strangers who have different views than me.

ie: you leave the grief in place, but those that are there to grief players need to be counted a one player in WvW, if they choose to grief, they will loose one players in actual fighting in WvW. you can’t have things both ways.

Server A has people in the JP camping, well server B, bring your people and clear out the JP. If server B cannot spare these people, or cannot muster a force to care, well that sucks for you.
Why should server A be penalized in other borderlands because your server cannot care or get the people to clear the JP for you?
That’s not a rule, its an IE, it is a mere suggestion.

It is fully possible to stop a mesmer from porting people up. He does have to get there in the first place for one, and then he is a rather easy target and so is the part spot.

Badges of Honor is a reward for having to deal with hostile players.
Badge of Honor are the reward at the end, from a chest along with other things. You’re not going to get these badges without any risk of hostile player activity.
If you’re trying to say “please seperate this JP from WvW” we’ve been saying the same thing for the past 10 months. So goodluck with that.
No, i am not saying that, it is now a seperate map right? the map chat and everything, so if players in there don’t count as one in WvW then it is actually not fair, since you are there to prevent players from getting siege weaponry to use in WvW , see my first post, either it is one and the same
ie: you leave the grief in place, but those that are there to grief players need to be counted a one player in WvW, if they choose to grief, they will loose one players in actual fighting in WvW. you can’t have things both ways.

You are correct , one should not get free siege, and if you are using a mesmer portal to get siege weaponry, what then?!
Beside, I wasn’t even getting to that place to get siege weaponry at all, I am not even sure I could get to the end of the jump puzzle, I want to have a chance to at least try to get to it, the Aetherblade – Black Out Cache, but no, these other server has like 20 players there not doing anything, just blocking the way to the jump puzzle for 2 hours now!
And might I remind you, that griefing another player is against the ToS of the game.
Beside this is the worse kind of grief, they are on the loosing end! they could have at least go out to actually try to win for their server, but NO, they choose to grief someone who wants to enjoy the jump puzzle.

No sane person is going to do that jump puzzle for siege weaponry in normal days now that we can’t use mesmer portal anymore., so please think about what you type before actually typing it.
I do not understand how this works,
1) Do player inside this jumping puzzle count towards the amount of players in the map as a whole?
IE when you get in a queue doe these players take up a space?
2) Are players allow to camp at the beginning of this particular jumping puzzle to prevents others from getting to the jumps?
I would like to formally ask that players who aren’t doing any jumping in the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle be kick from the WvW jump puzzle instance because they are griefing other players who actually are trying to get something done, expecially during time like this when the goal of one of the achievement is at the end of this jumping puzzle. (The Black Out Cache)

Since you ask, I will put my thoughts here, save me creating another thread.
I think when you kill/get rid of a mesmer’s “clone” they should slightly take away some of the mesmer’s health. because letting one profession have so many helpers is simply not fair.
when you made a mesmer, you target them, the target should stay with the person and not simply randomly switches around onto the illusion.

Reason there is a solo queue is so that everyone gets to play in pvp without having to find a group.
Original post reasoning is exactly why there’s a solo queue in GW2 in the first place. I also don’t understand how resetting the leaderboard will make GW2 pvp any better? Plus, isn’t there a custom arena where you can lock yourself in your own match?
