Just got back from vacation. Can anyone give me an update on everything we got from Gamescom?

Nothing. I didn’t pre-purchase because I don’t think everything they’ve shown/announced is worth the 50$. Kudos to the easy to please. Major kudos to the people who shelled 100$ for the gems. You must really love this game.

Apparently I didn’t STOMP in a PVP match. I’m using a STAFF Elementalist. So can anyone go over what and how to STOMP as a STAFF Elementalist?

I’m getting bored with everything else in GW2 so I decided to start crafting. I hate crafting so that should say a lot about this game. I want to be able to craft legendaries but I don’t know where to start exactly. I’ve tried crafting back when GW2 was released and just never looked back. Which class should I start with? If anyone can give me a few tips it would be most appreciated!

I’m growing tired of Spvp and WvW so i decided to get back into PvE. I have 2 level 80s. A Staff ele for both PvE and PvP, and a Power Ranger for WvW and PvP. I wanted to give a new class a go so i decided on Mesmer. If you guys don’t mind, can you answer a few beginner questions? Thank you!

1. I have a DPS Ele for PvE and a Bunker Ele for PvP. How is Ele compared to Mesmer? Is it harder? Easier?

2. I plan to use this Mesmer primarily for PvE. Can anyone direct me to an easy build so i can get use to the class?

3. How is the class overall? Good? Bad?

I’ve been playing Staff elementalist bunker for a year or so. Well before the patch. For some reason I’ve gotten more hate than ever before since the patch. I’ve been called PATHETIC for using a build that I’ve been using for awhile now. I asked politely what his reasoning was but of course, he doesn’t give me one and decides to block me. So I was called a n00b for just playing a class. Did I mention it was Staff Elementalist?

Well what’s causing the losing streak?

Somewhat of a rant. I’m not going to complain about classes because I’m a Staff Ele and I’m awesome. But i just want to get a few things off my chest.

1. It’s been years since release and we still haven’t gotten any new maps for conquest mode. Whatupwiddat!?

2. Really, what is the point of PVP ranks? Oh cool you get a finisher. WOW. Whatupwiddat!?

3. Why aren’t we getting any new maps in HoT!? Whatupwiddat!?

4. No seriously…where are the new maps? It’s flat out ridiculous that conquest isn’t getting ANYTHING from this expansion. I’ve played Stronghold and I’m already bored. Whatupwiddat!?

Wait till they reveal more about HoT. As of right now, there’s nothing in HoT for me. 1 pvp mode and 1 new wvw map is not worth that 50$ Especially when they not really part of the expansion.

To ease my pain just tell me we’re getting at least 1 new conquest map in the expansion and I’ll stop with these beating a dead horse posts. Pweeez!?

I feel like they should only be used if you have a level 80 character already. I completed my personal story and have no plans on doing that again on my alts.

Your personal hype level is completely 100% irrelevant. First of all, I don’t see the value of keeping people hyped in the first place. I think it’s a bad idea. They need the hype toward the end, not now. When they need hype, they’ll create it.

Secondly hype just means people get over excited and judge everything by the highest standard. Most games end up being treated unfairly by fans, because fans have hyped themselves into a state where nothing real could satisfy them. Most MMOs, just about all of them, take time to get off the ground. But fans are hyped and don’t give them that chance.

Most MMOs improve over the first year or two, and fans tend to move away and never look back. And people wonder why companies are reluctant to invest an creating an MMO.

My hype for this “Expansion” is gone. Want to do something about that Anet?

I only play Spvp and WvW. I have read from numerous posts that we’re getting the new PvP mode and WvW map BEFORE the expansion. Can anyone confirm this? If that is true my question is; will I need HoT to be able to access those modes?

ALSO, what is conquest getting from the expansion? It’s been years and we haven’t gotten a single new map.(Not sure if deathmatch was part of GW2 on day one)

Can anyone confirm that the new WvW map and PvP mode is pre expansion?

Maybe because the Xpac is 50$? I don’t need to see EVERYTHING. Just enough to warrant that price tag. For me, a WvW/PvP player, there’s not a lot. Especially if it’s true that the new WvW world map and PVP mode is to be added BEFORE the expansion. Also…it’s common sense to know everything about a product before you spend your money on it especially when it comes to 50$.

Yeah this…. I went ahead and answered what you will get from purchasing the expansion.

The WvW map and Stronghold are going to be available regardless of purchase.

Why is it being advertised as being a part of the expansion? Stronghold is being listed as a feature for HoT. If it’s being added before the expansion, is it really part of it?

For a 50$ Expansion a new map or two for Conquest and Stronghold a long with the rest of the content would warrant the price tag. At least for me. I just wish conquest got some love. I’m sick of playing the same maps.

I’m primarily a WvW and PvP player. What exactly am I getting out of the EXPANSION if anything?

1. No gear treadmill is a big deal/ Silverwastes
2. Combat IMO.
3. PVP
4. WvW
5. Dynamic events
6. non-traditional quests
7. PVP reward tracks

Just to mix it up a bit, things I don’t like
1. Dull story
2. Dull races
3. Dull personal story choices(Regretting not joining the circus? Are you kidding me?)
4. No new Spvp maps
5. No raids (currently)
6. No 1v1, 2v2, 3,v3, 4v4
7. useless pvp ranks

1. 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 arenas
2. Zelda Solo type dungeons
3. more dungeons
4. 10+man raids
5. Was not there for SAB so that would be nice to experience that
6. Build saver
7. more conquest maps
8. more pvp modes
9. animal style skins for each PvP rank(Seriously, all we get are finishers? that’s really boring Anet)
10. More different paths for living story/personal story

Try everything. If you don’t find anything that you enjoy then it’s better to find a different game and do the same. For me personally? I thought the personal story was pretty boring. It had its moments but they were few and far between. I really hoped we would be given more paths to choose from to flesh out our story but sadly we didn’t get that. I didn’t try crafting. Guild Wars 2’s dungeons are okay. It had a few interesting boss fights but nothing too exciting. I have yet to try fractals. I do enjoy Spvp. That’s pretty much all I do in GW2. I’m about to start doing WvW. In the end it’s all about what you enjoy doing. I quit FFXIV ARR because I was tired of grinding. I started GW2 because it wasn’t about grinding.

I wasn’t talking about Stronghold. I was talking about conquest.

What’s the best and fastest way to farm gold?

If we ever get new maps for Spvp(It’s been a few years Anet step it up) what would you like to have on the maps? What kind of interactions would be fun and exciting? I would love to have a map that would incorporate gliders. That would be interesting.

What’s the status on GvG?

really? so they expect us to keep playing on the regular maps for another year or so?

Everything they’ve announced so far is great but IMO lacking. Is that all we’re getting or are they announcing more content for HoT? Also I will be very disappointed if conquest didn’t get any new maps. Anet show Spvp some love.

Took me awhile to find what I enjoy doing in Spvp but I finally found it. I really enjoy bunking. I really enjoy taking a lot of damage and having my opponent just give up and go back to mid or whatever he/she was doing. It makes me smile. While I do enjoy my Staff ele, what other professions excel at bunking? Can anyone give me a few builds as well?

Thanks guys! I do have some Spvp experience with Staff ele bunker. Idk if engi is harder or easier than staff ele. I want to challenge myself now so what build would give me a decent challenge? I mainly want to do Spvp on this character but also want a decent PvE build to complete personal story/ living story.

Since I hit 80 ive been trying to get good gear. Not the best, just good gear. I keep hearing about zerker gear. What exactly is zerker gear and how do I obtain the set?

Also can someone point me to a good bunker build for engi? I enjoy taking in a lot of damage and surviving.

Just getting back to GW2. Quit FFXIV because all that game is about is grinding but I digress. I have yet to do a single dungeon. I plan on doing content outside of PvP because that’s all I’ve been doing. I want to do some PvE content but don’t feel like my ele is ready. I would also like to mention that I’m using a staff and don’t intend on changing it because I enjoy it. That being said I I have a few questions.

1. I don’t have much gold so what is another way of getting good gear for PvE? Any PvP tracks I could do?

2. What is a good PvE Staff build for Ele?

3. Does anyone do dungeons anymore?

I’m not big on the meta so can anyone fill me in on which classes are considered top tier and why? Also I’m a casual(Don’t hate me) what classes do very good in sPVP and are not as technical. I run Staff ele and having fun with the class but I just need a fun alternative. Please help!

I d/c during one of my personal story quests and now when I try to do it I keeps disconnecting me. What gives?

This is nothing but a zerg festival. The team with more zerk guards wins. Additionally more pew pew rangers or terrormancers.
Once you killed 1 opponent you can go to the spawn point and farm him. So the team is forced to join there but they wont.

It might be nice if we can see 3on3 matches but 5on5 is like 8on8 on every other map.
Courtyard is far a away from what could be called as competitive gameplay.

I’m on the verge of finally hitting 80. Just wanted to ask what things open up at 80? I still need to finish the main story and I haven’t tried any dungeons yet. But after those things what can I do? Tbh, I’ve done nothing but PvP.

What about ranks? Do they increase your PvP stats?

Does your level have any affect on pvp? I’m level 45 and I’m rank 17 in PvP.
