Also, renegades are not welcomed in any of charr villages, not to mention the Black Citadel itself. They disobey the treaty, disobey orders of their Legions, and for which one they have all rights to kill them by dissubordinance.
Separatists on the other hand are forbidden, but they do live in Ebonhawke. They do much of a trouble there.
Look at this thread, guys.
Here, I see how CHARR are declaring, that they are okay with the treaty. That their unquestionable loyality to the Legions, obeying words of the Legions are able even to hold their inner feelings about humans. That their own words are meaningless towards the Greater Good – which is good of the Legions and Tyria.
The world’s deadliest weapons are not eager to fight those, who they fought for years.
Now, look at human subforum. Where they ask themselves if they would fight for Ascalon, they mostly agree. Shameful. They call us beasts, yet it is them, who are monsters here, wishing for more war, for more blood, more misery and death – for the same of history, of the past and hatred.
That’s, why charr are above humans. They might be different, might be dangerous and imtimidating. But charr knows, where is place of history, and where is place of the future. THAT’S, why charr are the greatest world’s engineers!
For the Legions!
It is natural, yet it means not it goes to everything.
So what should I swap to, if needed?
What about let’s say axe/xxx + rifle/longbow?
I’d go rather for longbow, since you have high dps output burst skill with axe – and it’s alot faster, than loading rifle.
is this the best looking class in the game?
Probably!
You have inspired me. What s the name of set used next to Aetherblade?
Oh, I see. Thank you alot.
Zaxares, your words are pure wisdom.
I have but a one question about it: Why does it show 2 versions of it in your weapon skill panel? One unlocked and one (stronger one) locked?
Sometimes it’s just needed. And even if I use means not that I trust.
Because they use different tactics. Also, walls of Ebonhawke are mastercraft in fortifying art. It would take from the Legions alot of engine power to crush it. And they would eventually, if they’d get THAT mad.
But it doesn’t matter anymore. Charr agreed for a treaty. They have no need of assaulting Ebonhawke anymore.
I’ve sold armor pieces, you get from storyline, which normally are available only in pvp…
Also, my engineer is a human, not a charr…
You’re correct. I don’t like asuran technology. It’s connections to magic are too big to be avoided, which puts asuran engines in a very… fragile point.
If it goes to a brawl, it depends on both sides:
In duel it depends on Charr’s Legion, which determines his abilities in combat.
Same goes to a norn. But let’s pick up a norn warrior and a Blood legion soldier:
Norn is training his abilities for his own. He is trained to survive, whatever comes against him.
Blood Legion infantry on the other side is trained as a soldier. To fight properly, which may be easiert to counter, since it’s more predictible…
YET.
If it’d come to a battle now, I’m sure that charrs would win. Their weaponry, their DISCIPLINE AND TRAINING would give them a great advantage against band of norns. They wouldn’t fit in army’s discipline, as charrs do and that mihght cost them a victory.
So… I’ll just hit the mark:
- Running on four legs, despite heavy armors and weapons, that could be on use at any time. This isn’t handy.
- Wielding banners, staves and sticks, like … toys. Banner should be held high! Not fallen.
- Wielding weapons like toys overall.
It’s the only thing that holds me back from making all my characters a charr. It is a wonderful race, yet with the most difficult animations to set.
Would there be ANY chance to improve them? To make them more… uhm… logical? More soldier-like, not… kitten-like…?
Got a problem? Say it to my face, midget!
Now seriously. Give me one reason, that asuras are cool.
Never the less, back there, Charr relied on magic, on rage of fire. Now they are soldiers. Master engineers, true weapons of their own. If magic would be better, Flame Legion would reclaim everything, yet the Legions stand all cool with their cannons, engines , guns and soldier’s discipline.
I have deleted this character. I love the race. It’s culture, history, lifestyle… But I HATE all these animations. Running wild, wielding weapons like toys and banners, like casual sticks…
My name is still next.
Titus Bruteforce – Name is cool, but lat name… Meh. 6/10
Maximus Purplexus – I understand, that charr are a bit romanian, but don’t overdo it 4/10
Sienna Tinkerpaw – Finally! 9/10

Tarreth Stormscream – Warrior of the Blood Legion, fallen with his Scream Warband, during the Battle of Lion’s Arch. To defend the citizen and other soldiers, he decided to “give them time” – which was a suicide, and everyone knew it. Yet, it was essential for victory cause.
Victory at all cost.
Zandira Sparkshot – Young engineer. She likes her job, but she’s a dreamer. Amunition is her speciality. Creates for the Iron Legion.
Well that’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. How would a Ukrainian feel if Putin suddenly proclaimed Russia the “ancestral homeland” of the ancient Rus and he invades and kicks out all those “foreign” Ukrainians. Stupid scenario, right? Don’t confuse real history with fantasy.
Don’t confuse? Same thing it is! After all few posts ago, someone told about “humans being so much like in real world” or so.
These lands didn’t belong to Ukraine, yet today, after they earned it, no one (but Russians) question their right to it. Same with the Legions. Ascalon belonged to Charr → Humans drove them off of it → Charr got mad and took it back.
And I don’t give a kitten , how.
Do you know, what retcon is?
Spears… Spears. Spears…! Spears! SPEARS! BWAHAHAHA! I allow you to prepare your throw – I’ll just take aim on you with Iron Legion’s gun.
Precisly, They weren’t. Especially Ascalonian ones. Ascalon belongs to the Charr now. Don’t even try to change it. I am certain, that Ebonhawke guards and Seraph will put you in a good use of meat cannon against centaurs or dragon minions across the world.
You’ll be fired right out of a CHARR gun.
Die, separatist.
This kind person just won this website. Hail to the Legions!
Mother Nature has created plants so they HAVE genders. I don’t understand, why Sylvari should be different. YET IT MEANS NOT YOU SHOULD USE IT YOU FILTHY…
“your” land?
It is this mad human king, who drove the Iron Legion out of these lands. The Legions took, what is rightfully their own.
By your logic, Ukraine shouldn’t exist and over a half of it should belong to Poland (Belorussia and Lithuania too) – yet it is not like that. History is history, what have passed belongs to the past. And I don’t believe, that charr were that bad in that war. If so, how would they rise to the worldwide military greatness, which is second to none?
I may say either that charr have slaugthered the entire ascalon. Cause they did so. Yet, it’s not whole truth.
Cry me a river, separatists, but as a human engineer, if you rise against the Legions, send me your names. I’ll carve them on my bullets and shells.
Sincerely, Tsume Koi of Kryta.
That’s true. I don’t like those from Ebonhawke. They’re stubborn as hell.
Charr AGREED to have a traty. CHARR. AGREED. TO NOT. FIGHT!
Peeeeopleeeee.
If charr can agree to not fight, mankind should too. Or maybe poor little, so-hurt humies can’t hold their nerves and anger? Oh, that’s so animal-like! :<
Ascalon belongs to the Iron Legion. Leave it that way. Should I remind you, that humans were desperately looking for that treaty? I WONDER WHY…
Tell, me what is funnier than drinking yourself and your friends mad and start a brawl?
I’ve already made my warrior a norn, BUT. I am starting a new charr engineer. Wondering, interested in everything, dutiful and charming gunnery expert.
Uch, och? Sylvari are being mean to a charr?
>GHOSTFIRE SHELLS.
Burn, baby burn.
Tarreth Stormscream of Scream Warband. They’re famous of screaming like no one else, when charging into a battle. Their shouts are simply stunning.
Well… WERE. The Warband bleed out, during a fight with Zhaitan’s minions. They have sacrificed themselves for the sake of Victory.
Victory at all cost.
(Yes, my charr is no more, I deleted him, sadly)
Norn are bigger and more muscular (heavier) and Asura are the most technologically advanced of the playable races and even though their technology isn’t made for war, they have deadly superweapons that could easily destroy the Black Citadel. They also control the waypoints.
“Charr weapons are second to none”
Yes, asuras may have more advanced technology, but it is either more fragile and – face it – caused ALOT of cataclysms and destructions already not by meaning of their work, but by failure of it’s engines or other components.
Charr technology is heavy and simple, comparing to asuran. And… It’s just reliable.
Even in storyline, it is proven many times, that charr are Tyria’s famous leaders in gunnery. Iron Legion makes hell of a job, doing: tanks, which destroy hordes of undead, Ghostfire Shells, which consume EVERYTHING on it’s path… Even Pact weaponry is based on charrs engineering, throught supported by asuran improvement devices.
Look at the Black Citadel. Have you seen it’s tanks and cannons? THIS IS A HAVOC.
Do NOT make an asura.
Why they must die? Because their eats/hairs/whetever else may feed people. And the rest of their bodies may warm up some houses for orphans. That’s why.
And most of all: YOU MUST THROW SOMETHING TO THE FORGE, AIN’T THAT RIGHT? THE LEGION CALLS!
Even my norns are dark skinned (copies of eachother, just changed last name). Because they lived for generations on the south.
It’s a sad story.
When I began my adventure with Guild Wars 2, my friend introduced me with races… And as sylvari were no more than salad or wood supply, asuras were annoying midgets, humans… were just being themselves – charr were my love.
Duty, discipline, war. Nothing escapes Steel Fist of the Legions. You do your best or you die. Simple rules in the world of constant battle, where CHARR is the deadliest weapon of all.
Yet… I had to force myself to abandon charr warrior for sake of a norn. Why, you’d ask…
Because…
I fudgin’…
HATE…!
THOSE!
ANIMATIONS!
I hate that charr “runs wild” on four legs – it’s not combatwise style!
I hate, that charr’s fighting moves are heavy, stonish – they are warmachines. And war requires flexiblity. In the battle, enemy will not stand and watch some stone chopping him. No.
And I hate, that most of armors looks terrible on a charr, despite cultural armors, but they’re everywhere.
So my characters are not charrs, even if I’d love them to be. Yet, by RP… all of them love charrs for their culture and lifestyle. My engineer is going crazy, when she looks at anything, that Iron Legion made (she’s human). My warrior prefers to drink and brawl in a bar with charrs rather than norns – her brethren – cause charrs are tougher and less predictible.
And both of them: love charr’s sense of humor.
I am sorry for forsaking charrs in body, but my spirit and heart will always belong to the Legions.
Tarreth Stormscream: Legion’s word is my will. And if it says humans are not our enemies, they are not. Simple as that. Follow your orders, soldiers and don’t try to whine here! Clean those guns, double time!
Just roll postols. Amazing thingies outta there.
^ THIS. IS. TRUTH. Heed these words, Tyrians!
Wolf set on my elementalist. YES PLS.
What about build used not to dps, but to support? Are stats like healing power still good?
FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT IT:
PvE: Is it viable? If so, what is build for that? (including gear and runes)
WvW: Same question
Some may happen to appear later, due to progress of this thread.
Just add Option: “Hobosacks: Show/hide” that would do the trick.
I prefer double pistom on my grenade build, cause of aoe damage, immobilize and slow (second, next to kit grenade #4). Also, rifles don’t look really good with magitech set.
I don’t like shield, cause I just can’t use shields overall :P
And what build are you using? Cause I for example use valkyrie (power>vit+crit dmg) for my grenade build and it’s wonderful.
And then you see mesmers in – for example – human t3 heavy armor. Or Necromancers in Arah heavy armor. Or warriors in light armor. No, just no.
I sense some Charr Rebel.
Charr are amazing. My very first character is an charr. I love their military-centered culture, live overall. But their culture, lore, typical character’s profile is all I like around them. The worst animations ever, and only a few armors that actually looks fine on them. Shame on Anet they have ruined such a wonderful race.
That’s why my next character (and in all of the sudden main character) is an human.
Because as I said, they are just… human…ish. And it don’t stop me from adoring charr, norn or whichever else race. Because humans are humanish and for example my engineer may feel alot better around charr than other humans. Etc etc. Alot of combinations, that other races hardly provide.

This is rather nice looking armor piece. I really like it! Yet… It has one, but a big lack/issue in it’s display. Strips around it aren’t… Full. They end up just befind ear, not even reaching hairs – what simply destroys the whole effect.
I understand it is just a minor thing – may be considered worthless, but PLEASE. If you can, repair it, so using it will NOT be a shame.
They tell me to use PVT as a flamethrower user, not grenadier
Also, one more question… What about runes? I use 4 ruby jewels and 2 sup runes of… air I think. Something, what improves swiftness duration (I hate timing for next swiftness kit swap, so I maximalize it’s duration to have some window)
