We did the duels like we said so and he won most duels, but was running Turret Engineer (power and condition).
The duels were pretty fun and we talked on TS about everything

We do both agreed that Condition Engineer (this video and this meta only) is not appropriate to fight HamBow like I said in the video^^

Though, the Condition Engineer with Turret build still kills the HamBow!
Might wanna ask Arantheal for his build if you want other options!

Sorry . It was not my purpose to attack you. But I expected something new or something with a wow effect. I checked your video and I see :
You explain a very standard condition build (ostricheggs and Chaithh posted it months ago). You only change from p/p to p/s and from Elixir S to EG (also you change once sigil). After that you swtich back to the standard build but with shield and play a poor round of hot join on skyhammer. The only thing is that you are using p/s instead of p/p and it seems not to work very well.

Also you are explain strange things. You tell the audiance that you should not face a hambow warrior as a condition engi. Hambow warriors are really no problem for a condi engi on the same skill level.

Again, my channel is purely to show the meta at this moment for the newcomers. I do not invent new meta’s on my own nor do you.

With my HamBow I pretty much kill every condition engineer. Since I play all 8 classes equally lately, I can tell you HamBow > Engineer. HamBow has too much condi cleanse and engi only has max 2 stunbreakers if build to fight hambow.

PS: Tbh, I’ve never saw a p/p build, never saw Ostrich (only heard about him). These builds on my channel are all coming from our website and I just transfer them into videos.

It’s the same on thief, they broke it..
They decreased the dodge-window, but in my opinion, they should’ve decrease the casting time with it..

Like I said in the video, it was hotjoin match to just quickly explain the skills. You cant stay on point in hotjoin.. Hotjoin is..Hotjoin..
It was only one utility different..

Better listen carefully when Im explaining and gonna join Hotjoin, where you cant play like u do in tpvp^^

I really like using the hybrid bleeding/poison master build for pvp, but keep in mind that you should also swap to a pure bleeding build or a burning build depending on the enemy’s team setup, its hard to guess this before the battle begins but the subtle differences do make a difference. In case you’re not looking to truly touch up this build, swap out of sigil of stone and grab something more useful. You have lots of choices in this matter but signet of stone won’t help as much as otherwise. I like to grab muddy terrain if I feel that I need to control my enemy more (also quicker condi clearing there), also quickening zephyr is very useful when you stun/immobilize your foe to fill them up with bleeds. I think you get the point, experiment a little but otherwise good stuff… and yes Belgium did great!

Is it possible to record it on higher quality though? I suggest using OBS software to record/stream since there are lots of tutorials on how to stream for high quality when not having the best pc etc.

Just a quick notice: don’t waste your dodges that much for swiftness/might, is dangerous when you encounter another thief attacking you.

besides that, energy sigil for shortbow is nice as you usually swap to it just as kitten goes wild(and 1-2 extra dodges really help). And then with unkillable nature of thief you might wanna run a stacker sigil even in pvp. There’s also a shared cooldown with Air and Fire from other weapon sets, so they won’t be able to proc for first few seconds after swap which makes them not-so-wanted.
So I’m using Air/Fire S/D and Energy/Bloodlust SB myself. Makes perfect sense to me.
Also, Hard to Catch(versus enemy compositions with stuns/dazes, for example other S/D thieves) and Shadowstep(if enemy is kitten stuns/conditions combo) instead of Infiltrator Strike(which is great but you might find yourself overwhelmed by stuns or conditions).
And then COMBO FIELDS. Abuse them hard. Dancing Dagger thrown over a fire, poison or dark field is godlike. At times I can drop a shadow refuge just to throw over it 4-5 dancing daggers for real damage and healing – it’s 202 heal per dagger, and each of them is actually 4 projectile finishers and thus throwing 5 dancing daggers over a shadow refuge adds up to 4040(+2.0 from healing power) healing as well as 5000-6000 damage from leech(damage scales on your power, with 0 might stacks dancing dagger did 263 damage per leech hit)

It’s not because I can speak 3 other languages fluently, I can speak English fluent aswel..

And yes, your comment does makes sense but as my youtube channels says, I show meta builds for the newcomers to have some chance of getting to know PvP.

PS: I dont need shadowstep on my thief since I wont suicide myself as a warrior inside a teamfight, I play carefully and wait at the right time like it should. Venom is also great for single target focus, so the team gets 1second to focus dps when called.

Hotjoin ain’t Team Arena and the difference is I always use TS when playing with a team. Easier to call burst so u dont need to kamikaze and show the team you’re dps’ing target

EDIT: with a stacking sigil, you’re losing a lot of potential. Since you’re using stacking sigil, it means you rly focus on killing the enemy when it’s not thief’s job to do so in organized tpvp (except for enemy’s thief and/or squishy dps’s at teamfights)

Axe/sword is rubbish tho :/ It’s not much of a team supporting build as it requires you to kite way too much.

Axe/shield longbow is way more usefull, as you can use your soldiers amulet without any problems because of the sigil of intelligence and the great might stacking on your longbow and 2 leaps. Besides that, you’ll be able to stay on points if needed and can outduel most other classes/specs

Axe/sword aint support, it’s dps and mostly assigned assaulting far :p Also the block on shield has longer cd compared to block on sword 5. Both works with reflect trait , stun also does no damage while torment does loads of damage with the celestial amulet. The eviscerate hits pretty hard.

I’ve been trying this vs HamBow, vs condi warr, vs axe/shield hammer and axe/sword bow pretty much kills them all. But it’s true, when it comes to teamfight, you’ll be elft squishier. It’s up to your guard to do his job to keep u alive but also not keep standing in AoE all the time x)

When running hambow I like to switch out to the berserkers (altho I don’t run it very often). I like the evis build way more, as you may have noticed. I think hambows are doing fine atm, but the glory and fame was way higher before the patch. The lack of damage using a soldiers amulet is incredible in my opinion, as there are too many specs around which will rip off your might stacks. Try it on berserkers, I’m sure you’re going to like it (don’t mind your survivability, as your stances cover you quite much)

and Kite. Kiting does the job as you’re running zerkers and you feel like you’re getting in trouble, kite like you’ve never kited before ^.^

Those are just my 50 cents tho

Ya I’ve tested axe/sword vs hambow with soldiers and axe/sword with celestial owns the hambow pretty much due its dps and hambow is purely meant as support (cc coverage)..

I’ll make an axe/sword video next, just finished Engineer^^

But like if u look for fumble on gw2 wiki, it actually just says -50% damage (Glancing Blow) but if u look at weakness, it’s just like you said.. That got me confused..

Its better ifu play the classes u lose against.
I mean, if I see a warrior doing pindown (which has a very obvious animation since patch), I dodge it. Cuz most going to Pindown>swotch hammer with Sigilof intelligence >Smash the kitten out of you.
Hambow is indd a very hard class to deal with mesmer, I know that from experience. But DPS guard and all, it comes down to kiting, where mesmers are very good at still.

Now the reason why you might have a lot of trouble is because those ppl actually play shatter mesmer aswel. Most have only one stunbreaker (Decoy) and some mesmers even use this skill as an offensive skill (dont Q_Q ). Shatter mesmer aint easy to play, I know that aswel. very squishy andlike u mention, u only got nullfield and Power Cleanse mantra (lol). But ya, u just ned to train hard, ask friends to 1v1, spectate 1v1 server and play other classes sometimes to understand their mechanics and weaknesses (thats how I did it, I play all 8 equally lately). Im only talking about using the meta builds currently used now.

Just do that, invest time in experiencing and you’ll be one of the better ones.

(I do still suck at Shatter mesmer :> )

Well first of all, you’re shatter mesmer. You’re one of the classes which get eaten by thiefs. On the other hand, shatter mesmers can own others a thief cant (dps warr/dps guard due no stability etc etc).

Like I explained, your shatter mesmer is Fire, my thief is Water. Water wins. Phantasm mesmer on the other hand has lot more chance to win from thief.. But like I said, you can’t expect to win vs every class/build with just one build.

If you’re rly looking to just kill s/d thiefs, go Dhuumfire necro. Just did duels with r80 top 150 team arena thief and it was like 8-2 for me.. Doesn’t mean I can own everyone now because an hambow smashes my face and makes me eat dirt. Simple logic, dont rage :>

EDIT: Might wanna check 1v1 King of the Hill arena. Some very experienced shatter mesmer have no trouble with s/d thiefs.. So ya, if they can with same build, then the question remains, why cant you?

For me, the problem with thieves is not that they are OP when they are alive. Sure they are somewhat op but there are ways here and there to counter them(but means youll be weak against other classes).

Rather its their capacity to stay invi for a very long time when they are down. For mesmers, its quite reasonable. Its like 50/50 they have a chance to get away and quite irritating to finish, but still alright. Some thieves i’ve played against can go invi until they can completely resurrect themselves. So that’s not fair in many ways.

They have 3 seconds invisibility on downed state. Just keep dps’ing around

EDIT: What does need to be fixed and nerfed is the ridiculous Condition thief, which can bunker 2 dps’s for quite some time and still able to down one.

EDIT II: You can also see GW2 as Pokémon. One build counters the other while the other counters his.

Example: Water beats Fire. Fire beats Leaf. Leaf beats Water.
Example: Hambow beats Necro. Necro beats Thief. Thief beats Hambow

So you can’t expect to kill EVERYONE with one single build. Only a few counters s/d thief ones and only a few counters hambow and condi necro..

Really simple actually..
You just need to train a lot and not be like “r19 pvp cant kill teef wtf OP forum QQ nerfplz”
Not saying OP was like that but a lot are, and not only mentioning s/d thiefs^^

Most of the tasks as an admin is “helping” on the website, as stated in the original post you’re going to help solve support- and protest tickets, create cups, create news/announcement posts etc.
There’s not a lot of ingame tasks to be done, during cups we usually always have an ingame representant but that’s about it.
