Nice idea.

Using them as pet or equipped sounds too powerfull. Using the environmental weapon (or engineer’s weapon kits) concept is probably not unique enough.

2)Guardian summons Spirit Weapon and uses it in hand as an environmental weapon for the duration.

Reminds me of GW1 Ritualist’s weapon spells .
What if it would give allies (and the guardian) some kind of effect similar to a virtue or a boon? It could provide the effect to nearby allies on activation and be “summoned” back to the guardian to give only the guardian a greater benefit (which may be other skills).

I believe it’s intended to act as a melee-range cleave. Something it accomplishes brilliantly. Calling it an “exploit” (even with parentheses) is sort of like saying it’s an exploit to use pronged attacks—such as certain Ele dagger attacks, that one Ranger bow attack, etc—at melee range to make all of those projectiles hit a single target.

It’s just smart use of mechanics. And sort of common sense.

No offense intended. I just think skills should be used without considering technical details of the game implementation like hitboxes (and adjusting game options). Standing inside another object doesn’t sound right.

Back to my original topic:
If the projectils are intended to hit your current melee target and from most of the answers I believe that you’re trying to use it that way, then why are they projectils in the first place? The damage could have been added to the other part of the attack or the melee part could produce more hits. It could even be a whirl finischer without the projectils like Protector’s Strike.

If the projectils are intended to hit targets outside your melee range, why are so many of them missing? Having a skill that produces projectils which hit so infrequent is strange.

Projectils are (or should be) intended to hit at range. Since they don’t from my observation, I think that either something is wrong with them or I don’t get the purpose of the skill. I don’t expect the projectils to hit my melee target directly in front of me.

I don’t believe that a skill should require you to know how to “exploit” the hitbox-targeting-mechanic.

What is the effect of fractions of seconds for boon/condition duration?

The tooltip for my Virtue of Justice says

passive 1 1/4s
active 6 1/2s

As far as I know conditions/boons “tick” every second, so what happens with the fraction part?

It works at melee range for me just fine with no problems. That 600 range it claims to have is BS though, so don’t even bother with that. But when it comes to melee I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for you

Beacause the projectils go out in every direction and don’t hit my target or anything else. The melee part works fine but the projectils are wasted.

Solo Leveling\Farming build

Most people run this this. Two-Hand Mastery can be switched out for Empowering Might if you don’t mind the extra CD.

This build does not use two-handed weapons so Two-Handed Mastery is a waisted trait. Why use Superior Aria without a shout skill? I think without shouts you would miss a lot of AHs potential. However, AH requires allies around and is thus not good for a solo build.

I’m also not sure why Healing Breez should be good for a solo build.

This is run by most people? How do you know that?

Tooltip is raw dmg. 7k dmg is true crits and crit dmg

The tooltip says “damage (9x): XXXX”. Does that mean XXXX per skill in 9 parts or 9 times XXXX? Anyway, as far as I can tell it produces 7 projectils and hits more than 2 times in melee (wiki says 7) so why “9x”?

This is exactly what it does not. I can stand in range with a target selected and it will 7 times not hit the target but disply a missed message.

Im lvl 80 and I believe the tooltip says 2700 dmg. I do easily 6-7k with it so.

It is ca. 1000 less for me. Doing 7k when the discription says 2,7k doesn’t sound correct.

It seems they almost never hit an thus this skill is half as powerfull as its numbers say.

At worst it aggros another mob when you don’t need it.

From my experience, Renewed Justice requires that you gain xp from kills. There are a few situations (mainly story quests) where you don’t get xp on kills.

My current impression is that it is not versatile.

You need to invest heavily into the zeal line to improve spirit weapons and thus don’t have much points (or skill slots) for anything else. Furthermore, it does not make sense to me that the zeal minor traits improve symobls which in my opinioin don’t synergyize well with spirit weapons

The good think is they boost your damage even if you are not attacking.

The game is not designed to take damage. Hence avoid it by blocking, blinding, evading. Consider Signet of Judgment and the protection boon.

What do you mean by “tankier”. In my opinon “tanking” has to aspects: 1) getting and holding the aggro in order to avoid damage to your allies 2) withstand the incomming damage focused at you.

The symbols only last 3 seconds, and even if you don’t knock people back, they will move away from it themselves…

Symbols last longer than 3s. In PvE npcs don’t move away.

Mh what I’m trying to say is (considering only PvE):
Symobls are effective if your enemies and you stay in them the whole time. The Hammer of Wisdom knocks enemies out of symobls and in turn force you to follow them to stay in melee range.

If I improve my spirit weapons I need to spec in the zeal line and take major traits. When doing so I have no choice but taking the minor traits as well which improve symobls.

Now if I use my trait improved Hammer of Wisdom it makes my improved Symobls less efffective.

The same is true for the Shield of the Avenger since you don’t want your enemies stay in melee range and thus in the symbol since this implies that your enemies is inside the dome shield and thus the shield is pointless.

Hence I think having minor traits for symbols in a trait line with major traits that improve spirit weapons is not a good idea because you can’t maximise the effectivness of one type of skills.

They should be waering their Order armor, unless I misremember. Order headquarters (all three) have those for sale. The price is not the cheapest though.

No doesn’t look like any of the order armor shown in the wiki.

I already have the vigil armor (which also looks different) it was the cheapest rare 80 armor that I could get.

For example, when using Sigil of Superior Water in a focus do I have a 30% chance to heal when using a only a focus skill or all of my 5 weapon skills?

In my opinion spirit weapons don’t work well if you use melee weapons because:
The shield dosen’t protect you if you and your enemy are under the dome shield. The hammer knocks the enemy away from you.

While the movement option of the (Great)sword allows you to close range quickly, that makes combat more complicated and the hammer seems to knock back multiple enemies in different directions, thus you can only follow one of them which reduces your damage output.

Of course I don’ need to use symobls but than alle the benifits of the minor traits in zeal are wasted.

I think Spitit weapons and symbols don’t work well together. However, the Zeal line improves both and thus the improvement for one type is wasted.

Spirit weapons focus on range. While the sword and the bow may work in melee the hammer knocks your target out of melee and the shield only works if you are at range.

The Zeal line has Adapt, Master and Grandmaster major traits to improve spirit weapons. However, all minor traits improve symobls and symbols focus on melee combat.

Half of the waypoints in the Ruins of Orr are always contested. There is nobody to win them back. I liberated one alone and 3 minutes later it was contested again.

This said, while I don’t know about maces, there are some good greatsword skins; Aureate swords, Ebonblade (personal favorite, better than legendaries IMO), Khrysaor, Skybringer, Ascalonian (Ghastly) sword all seem suitable for those looking for more elegant/believable look. We could use more like them, that’s for sure.

Thanks for the weapon names. That is what I’m looking for.

Almost all maces are bigger than the head of my norn. Greatswords look like surfboards…

  • 1g50s60c tax is too much
  • 10g are insane or unfair
  • in the current market situation too few would buy it for 10g
  • people that think 10g is the correct price will buy it and re-list it; yes they will make 53s40c profit (if it sells for 10g) but he will make 6g80s

Yes more armor skins! Currently very few armors are interesting. Most of them look very similar.

I find 119 gold for a rare (= not optimal stats) Cultural armor ridiculously overpriced. You can get other rare armors for ca. 8g (e.g. Vigil) or ca. 20g (draconic).

The complete event is a disaster:

Client doesn’t start at first. Hence I missed the special surprise cutscene.
Guild-chat does not work (Other guild features bugged as well: Guild-Message, no members in guild, not representing guild, missing guild points….).
Trading Post breaks down.
Not possible to go to same overflow server as other group members. Groups are split when traveling to different zones.
1 hour later we are all on the same server. When trying to enter the “Mad-King-Dungeon” we all get 19:9:18:1614:101.

We tried AC after a few minutes we were logged out (42:0:9001:3968:101). Not possible to login again. And no I’m not in a University network and my firewall and router are OK.

Forum was down as well.

Nothing works!

This is really disappointing. You advertise a special event and the complete game breaks down .

Ah OK. Although, I find it pretty weird that they have the same name but different skins on diffferent levels as well as different names but the same skins for different dungeons.

I tried to preview the armors for the first 4 dungeons at the merchants in Lion’s Arch, all show the same skin. Is that a bug or do they really have the same skin?

For some achievements, especially the Halloween achievements, it is fairly unclear what to do. A description would be helpfull. I think it would be far better to work for something that guessing what to do are be supriesed by an achievement.

You’re saying that an explorable path takes only 20 minutes and that it yields 1g!? From my current experience I’m finding this hard to believe.

The few higher grade items hardly sum up to 1g. Besides the Omnomberry Bar requires level 80 which should be a requirement to make a level 35 dungeon worthwhile.

I loooooooove Contemplation of Purity. Turning conditions into boons is magical.

Sounds great but how often do you use it? Like most skills I find this so extremely situational and than a 60s cooldown.

I run through Ascalonian Catacombs and Caudecus’s Manor both in explorable mode. In all chests there was a 1c reward. 1 copper!!!

All other stuff (chest and drop) was mostly common or fine items 99% not appropriate for my level or armor class. All of it worthless on TP.

At the end of Caudecus’s Manor I got 20s. But considering that armor repair, which happens sometimes in dungeons, cost 3s-5s…

I think (almost) all utility skills are good, but only in very rare circumstances.

Signet of Judgment is almost always on my bar in PvE. 10% damage reduction is always usefull even if I didn’t need the active part.

In every Dungeon I switch one skill to Shield of the Avenger sooner or later. The amount of damge it absorbs is phenomenal.

“Hold the Line!” and “Save Yourselves!” are nice too.

How and when are sell prices rounded?

Assuming I list one item for 42c.

10% sell fee = 4.2c hence 37.8c on sell. Will I get 37c or 38c?

Assuming I list more items. Does it matter if all items a bought at once (e.g. is rounding per item, per sell, or per trading post account)?

The transmutation items from Kimmes the Historian in the Hall of Monuments are broken since a few days.
