Me, stuck in a cave and getting killed by zombies.
Was during the Halloween event, I was low level back then.
Might see if I can record something new.
Is anyone else having issues with the new patch?
The client comes up with a Connection Error for a while, then starts to patch at a VERY slow speed and then once and a while it Connection Errors.
Rather annoying… A friend has it too, so I know its not my connection.
You know.. last battle we just won because we are poor night-cappers. Now we are just cheaters and cowards and purposely exploiting the whole day..
Even if you win.. the only thing you do is complaining. No other server was and will ever flame like Piken does.. I think it’s under your pride do keep flaming and flaming while you do just fine and win in all belongs (numbers, tactic, points).
For the record, Piken won the last battle.
We’re winning, yes. But that doesn’t change the fact that AM is abusing cheap tricks to make some quick caps.
And we’ve noticed other guilds on our realm doing this, none of us like it. It’s disgraceful that a server needs to resort to cheap tactics.
I say a server because for the last 2 days I’ve been in WvW ALL day and its the only tactic I see AM using now.
So if I’m wrong and I’ve just been getting unlucky in who I face then ignore me and take this apology pie with extra cherries.
You gunnars need more luff.
Get over here and let me hug you guys ; -;
Sorry for taking your part of EB this morning.
Aye, give is cosmetic changes to each class via the gem system.
Maybe let us choose what we shatter into like how you would choose a guild logo.
While I love the butterflies (they fit my sylvari amazingly well) I’d love to change it to something else. Leaves or something
Basically right now there’s no real reason to not be a power build; there’s tons of gear for power builds, there’s tons of jewels and extras, tons of runes and sigils and you kill things before you even render on their screen.
Hopefully the patch today will fix this.
Oh we counter it alright.
Within 2 hours of me logging on we took back everything. 100% of our own BLs and the EB, it was my plan to lure the golems out that broke the zerg apart and made it easy to finish off the remaining AMs.
I’m one of the commanders in Goodgame, and I spent all of this morning and most of this afternoon dealing with your exploits.
When you purposely get up a group that can abuse both of the well known system issues you can no longer act innocent.
While I can’t speak for all of us, most Pikens don’t use cheap tactics such as that because we KNOW we don’t render for the enemy. We WANT to fight fairly.
Meanwhile Abaddons is purposely setting up groups to abuse system limitations.
Justify it all you want, Anet is fixing this issue in today’s patch. So at least we’ll be able to properly fight back against such cheap tactics.

Game mechanics and issues with game mechanics are quite different.
If you shove 50 people through a portal and they’re all invisible AND immune to AoEs (due to the 5 target limit), what are you meant to do to fight back?
It gives the invisible team an unfair advantage.
And it’s abusing an engine that wasn’t built to deal with such large numbers, thus its abusing a ‘bug’ of sorts.
Either way, it’s getting real old real fast.
Double Post:
ABADDON’S MOUTH!
Enough is enough. Piken Square is now reporting every single player who abuses a bug or exploits in this WvW match.
What the HELL happened the last 2 days? AM have just randomly started abusing the bugs and limitations of the game to gain the upperhand.
Cullmarching 10 golems?
Portal Bombing?
These are limitations of the games (rather crappy) render engine.
Stop abusing them, we’ve had enough of it. What you are doing is cheating, and we’ve agreed to report every single player we find doing it (or as many as we can SEE, considering more than half of them don’t even load).
It looks to me like AM wants to get as much out of this kitteny engine before the fix later today, but its not fun for anyone.
Pistol mainhand.
1) Mind Shot – Deals damage to single target
- Mind Blast – Fires an explosive round at the enemy, dealing damage to the target and minor damage nearby foes
- Mind Explosion – Fires an explosive round that deals damage and confusion to nearby foes
2) Distracting Shot – Fire an illusionary bullet at the target, blinding them and spawning a clone at your current position.
12 second cooldown.
3) Condition Ray – Fire a beam of conditions at the target, inflicting Confusion, Blind, Burn, Chilled, Poison, Bleed, Weakness and Vulnerability over 5 seconds, channeled.
If interupted, any conditions not placed on the target will be placed on the Mesmer.
45 second cooldown.
I had a staff swap to that Plant-like Lv80 staff.
Bramblesomething.
I transmorphed it to the t3 staff skin, but I love the extra toughness from it
Once I fix my PC I’ll try to make a new video about it.
Nah, we had the numbers to counter turtle tactics, we just couldn’t see them to counter them.
:<
Hey, hey, whao.
Abadons, we know you wanna win but exploiting with golems ain’t cool.
So it’s not a real expoit, but sticking a zerg around the golems you guys are training around causes them not to render (render bug), so we get trampled by invisible golems might as well be called an exploit as you’re abusing a crappy render engine.
And that zerg is always around them golems, there’s no way you guys aren’t doing that on purpose :\
C’mon, not cool.
I want a Pistol main hand, I really do.
I’d want to see some mind-friggery moves such as one that sends you behind your foe in a semi-circle movement that leaves a clone at your starting position.
Thanks for the advice and whatnot, I’ll make a video in the future if I change my build at all.
:)
The main reason I dont make use of iDuelist is because I like to have up 2 Staff clones and an iWarlock. In a long fight, I’ll pop the Duelist to help wear down the enemy, but for the most part I swap to Scepter/Pistol for the stun followed by Confusing Images.

In Orr, yes.
It’s why I have so many clone spawning abilities; At any given moment I can spawn a clone.
Dev still refuse to do pvp/pve split while nerfing everything pve into the ground………….
well it is pretty, pretty clear now: time to reroll a warrior and join in the press 2 button = win style
Confusion does half damage in sPvP.
So stop saying “PvP and PvE needs a split” because it already has one.
The increased cooldown to Phants didn’t effect us in PvE at all. Mobs are dead before I can get up 3 illusions, so I don’t care about their cooldowns.
If the change is something major, such as changing the skill effects, they split it for PvE and PvP. If its a cooldown or cast time change (minor change) then they do it across the board.
Mesmers still rock hard in PvE.
Link to my build is in the description of the video, however I do go over that in the video.
This is in response to a few people asking what my build is.
The video includes;
- Brief description of my build and weapons
- 1v1 battles
- 2v1 survival
- Group Functions
- Group Survival
I hope you enjoy.
I look like Seiran… Thing is I already looked like this before I reached that part of my Story Quest!
Sylvari are so adorable!
Eeeeeeeeh~
I’m so adorable.
People say I remind them of Seiran!
- Lynnothia, Piken Square EU
I’m a Sylvari for the Take Root and Druid Spirit elites.
I heard Hounds of Balthazar are very OP with Mesmers.
But I just love my adorable Mesmer <3
http://puu.sh/1p4iY
I want mounts that are ONLY cosmetic, like the Broom Stick that came with the witch set.
There is no speed boost, just a cosmetic thing. Like Mini Pets.
Refreshing to see a non-backstab thief.
Kudos.
Alas, my mesmer powers were too feeble and weak to stand up to the Necromancer.
I concede, the battle is yours.
What Xoco said.
If you charge at a player who clearly has an advantage then you deserve to die.
If I see a thief pop his venoms and signet, I run away.
If I see a Necro with staff and all pets out, I run.
Don’t let yourself get bombed then cry when you die.
I’m back!
Sword/Sword – Got creamed.
Scepter/Sword – Got creamed more than I did the creaming
Scepter/Pistol – There is no more room in hell.
Maybe I’m just not used to it. Sword Block does hit for a kitton (ha!) of damage, but in the long run it isn’t worth running around WvW with a sword in the offhand. Having a way to interrupt is far better.
I rarely use a sword in my main hand as well, I prefer Scepter/Pistol.
Stun them then use Confusing Images for an easy 3-5 stacks depending on whether or not they dodge roll.
It also has some very high damage, each “tick” of CI does about 900 a crit on my Mesmer.
I use Rabid and Rampager right now, trying to get a full Rabid set though.
Most fights I do are against power builds, so toughness is more interesting to me.
But yeah, I find Condition Mesmers have some amazing End Fight Burst, after about 5-10 seconds of set up I melt the enemy.
Thats their window to take me down, and if they fail then they die.
I’ll think about that, actually.
I want to make a video guide for combating Mesmers and make it funny too.
I’m taking on board what people are saying and am actually going to try out Scepter/Sword later today to see if I’ve been doing it wrong.
If you complain about immobility, get an immobilise breaker.
This isn’t a troll post either.
Every class has at least one skill to break CC, if you don’t have it on your bar and then complain about being CC’d then you really should look into getting a CC breaker.
The game has given you tools for every situation.
I gave up with PvP when I realized I couldn’t use the awesome skins I got in PvE in PvP.
So I stick with WvW.
“Mesmers are getting the fewest changes.
We are nerfing them by 90%.
That is all.”
In all seriousness, I do see us Mesmers having an issue in sPvP due to how we excel in tight spaces in which our clones can take hits for us even if you don’t meant to hit a clone.
I think Portal is getting some kind of Nerf because of how it can be abused in WvW.
It’s viewed as a cowardly stratergy that never gets any results.
You stay in a large group to overpower anything that comes your way, all you do while zerging is take camps which are pretty useless unless you plan to do something (which they never do).
They don’t listen to orders given by people who know what they’re doing, so not only do they waste space they also waste players as people see a large group and follow that instead of a guy who knows what he’s doing.
We’ve lost SM once or twice because a 50 man zerg was running around NOT defending SM, not even responding to “SM needs help!”.
They just ran around autoattacking gates or jumping a few enemy players.
In an attempt to prove how stupid a Zerg was, I decided to kite one. The entire 30 man zerg started chasing me, not a single one used swiftness and 9/10 times they attacked a clone when they could clearly see me running away. I kited them for the best part of 15 minutes before leading them right into our area in the Borderlands, most of them actually tried to chase me inside where they got one shot by the Defenders NPCs.
Not a single Zergling survived.
I also got 11 badges and an item I salvaged into a Lodestone (yey 2 gold).
I honestly thought I was dealing with bots for a while.
From what we understand, Backstab is getting a nerf on its damage as well as burst in general being nerfed across the board for all classes.
It’s a little something I’ve noticed when fighting Elementalsits.
I’m a Mesmer, and what I’ve noticed is that Ele’s either rock the house down and mop up the mess with my Mesmery face or they just flail around hopelessly as I dance on their yet-to-be-dug grave.
I’ve yet to face an Ele in a great 1v1. It ends almost instantly whether I win or lose.
I’m curios as my highest Ele was Lv14; do you Eles notice this too?
Also keep in mind that just because a class killed you doesn’t make it Over Powered.
Now a thief doing 90% of your HP in a single hit (Anet confirmed this issue and is nerfing Backstab on the 15th), THAT is what we call Over Powered.
The key to fighting a Mesmer is to keep a calm mind. We’re not the masters mind friggery in attacks alone, we aim to ACTUALLY mess with your REAL mind. A clear mind means a dead Mesmer.
Don’t get me wrong, I have every weapon usable by Mesmers.
But with a Scepter in my main hand, I get a block anyway, so while a second block might be nice, I prefer a stun or a pull.
Gosh darnit all, give me a dress and call me Irene! I lost to an Elementalist.
Well don’t that beat all?
Yes yes lets give us more ways to spawn clones, as if we don’t already have enough.
We’re fine as we are.
There is no worst elite.
Pistol Stun followed by Moa Morph shuts down a thief for more than long enough to get a head start, meanwhile Moa Morph on a Guardian is just hopeless.
Each spell both shines and flops depending on the situation.
“Mesmers are getting the least changes.
We are nerfing them by 90%.
That is all.”
This is almost too hilarious to be taken seriously…
Roll a Mesmer, get a feeling for the class, THEN come back here and tell us you want to see those ridiculous nerfs.
Keep in mind that it’s based on my personal experience.
That Phant is good, but not as good as the others in my opinion.
Also, I’m a staff Mesmer. I know how fast we can shred players apart, hence why the advice I gave is to keep your distance. If I get into melee range you’re looking at 2 very quick bounces. Timed, I’m doing 1.4k every second through its blunt damage alone. The Conditions on average buff that up to 3k, and a Warlock throws in an extra 2-3k every hit.
I take down glass cannons faster than they can dent my HP.
But yeah, the original idea behind the post was comedy, but I still wanted to give people a rough idea on how to counter us.
We’re not overpowered, we’re just unique in the way that you do really need to play the class to understand how it functions.
I mean I know how a Warrior plays and how a Guardian fights, yet I’ve never touched one.
I had no idea how to combat a mesmer until I made one.
While people do win and lose, the goal of WvW is to win your server world wide bonuses, such as an increased drop rate, gold drop and higher chance of looting extra mats.
This is the reward, and it is given through the entire week.
So really there is no end reward for winning.
You also get honor badges for killing people, which is needed for making legendaries. or getting Toughness/Vitil armour.
Don’t enter WvW thinking it’s like WoW’s Tol Barad or Wintergrasp where you win a fixed amount.
I wouldn’t mind it half as much if combat didn’t slow you down. The jumps in the puzzles are done for your default speed, so being in combat means you can’t do the puzzle.
Which gets VERY annoying if the person you was in combat with leaves and you stay in combat indefinably afterwards.
Or if you fall in the dark room and take damage; the combat NEVER ends because you’re still close to the source of the damage.
Make combat “mode” last time instead of distance or remove the slower speed when in combat and it’ll be harder to camp the puzzle.
I… I don’t like this.
We won. Chances are we’ll win again if last week was anything to go by.
This isn’t fun for the winners as we know that the next week will be a breeze, this isn’t fun for the losers as they tasted defeat already.
Either way, here’s to a good week.

Goodgame [GG]
It’s bad and you should feel bad.
I mean it’s good for the block and the Phantasm, but when stood next to Temporal Curtain, The Priestage, iDuelist and Magic Bullet it’s just bad. Why would you want a single block (only blocks one attack, so the first strike with Hundred Blade/Pistol Whip and Unload) or a Phantasm that doesn’t apply a worthy secondary effect?
(iDuelist bleeds every time it crits, and it attacks about 10 times in one ‘attack’, iWarden provides spell deflection as well as secondary effects when in Combo Fields).
YOUR SET UP IS BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD!
-decoys away-
As a condition Mesmer, the more confusions I can dish out the better.
‘specually when I’m facing a stupid ranger who just straves and autoattacks.
He does 2k a hit to himself, so I Priestage and let my clones and iMage keep up the stacks of Confusion and he quickly kills himself. Works wonders on any burst class.

You might find that you’d win 99% of your fights if your clones also spawned with the star.
