The Lost Shores should have stayed lost.

Let me guess.
Traditional raids and better gear tier after tier?
I’m not bringing a solution here, I’m adressing an isue, it’s classic and works. But that’s why I say that Arenanet should sit down and talk with eachother
They did, which is why the game is the way it is. “Endgame starts at level 1”. Their game philosophy is fundamentally different and they aren’t likely to change it.
It changes when people log off. Just set your alarm for 4 am, move your character over there, and go back to sleep.
Well first off, stop spamming people as soon as you meet them. If people just get a random invite from someone they’re probably just going to ignore it. I know I do.
People are also extremely unlikely to join a guild with very low membership. That’s just how it is. Guilds are places where people go to do content with the same people (gameplay wise), and if a guild as a low membership, then it’s really a waste of time. Most of the big guilds started in other games and just brought 100+ people with them when the game started which gives them a huge joining incentive. Someone will always be there to play with.
Starting a guild from scratch is a real pain because it takes so long to do. You’re not going to get it done in a week. But there are some ways to do it.
1. Start outside the game: Tell your friends about GW2 and get them to join. Your friends already enjoy doing things with you, so why not enjoy a video game together. This also allows you to set up a system of guild standards right away ie how guild members should approach the game and interact with each other. Most groups of friends already have an unspoken system of standards when they interact with each other. This is just putting it down on paper. Remember, guilds that aren’t social won’t have high retention rates.
2. Friends list: Play the game with random people. If you both enjoyed the experience, add each other to your friends lists and, this part is key, STAY IN CONTACT WITH THEM!!!!!! Also, try to remember little things they let slip in chat like where they work, birth dates, marital status, personal likes……People are more prone to spend time with people that remember little things about them. Make a spreadsheet if you have to(yeah it’s creepy, but it helps) Once you have a large enough friends list, see how many would be interested in joining a guild. They already enjoy playing with you, why not make it a permanent thing.
3. PHP forums: Spend time on the players helping players forums. Posting helpful tips to new players is a good way to get noticed by them. Some guilds are against this kind of recruitment(noobs suck!!!!) but having a group of people that aren’t very experienced but teachable makes for a better experience. It just takes a little more input from officers.
4. sPvP: This one’s a little bit hard but have people in your guild do sPvP. Decent rankings attract people to a guild. Just be warned that a lot of people who join because of this may suffer from excessive PvP rage and may not work in your guild structure.
5. Flair: Simply put, have a forum page for your guild and vent. These do cost money, so you may want to wait till you have enough members to justify the investment.
Just remember that you’re not going to have instant successes in creating a guild from scratch. It will take time and effort.
The problem with cross-server, or overflow servers as you put it, is that if you get a group that works really well together and would like to do more dungeons at a later date with that group, you can’t because they are on a different server which prevents you from manually grouping with them. You’re stuck always having to pug with randoms from everywhere instead of just playing with the people you want. Once the guesting system is up, and there are some modifications to the friend system, then sure. As is….ugh.
There are karma vendors that sell crafting recipes with an odd level requirement (like 23,26,29), which are NOT available through the discovery tab. Most people don’t buy these recipes, therefore there are almost none available of the TH. There are people out there looking for gear that’s between the typical 5 level increases however, and you can make a good bit of money selling these odd level gear items.
We report the character, they don’t get banned.
Anet’s policy is using mass bans at random times. They didn’t get banned YET.
Don’t just use LFG CM Story. Mix it up with Looking for CM Story, WTD CM Story, CM Story mode please…..It doesn’t make it easier to find a group, but it does bypass the excessive messaging ban.
Also no cross server LFG system till the guest system is up and even then…..ugh.
the +10 in inventions is a strange choice, you should go +10 into explosives to get +Condition Duration, and the trait “Incendiary Powder”. It gives you a chance to apply extra burning condition.
Agreed. I would also switch Elixir S with U as it allows you to really stack bleeding at the onset of a fight and switch Cleaning Formula with HGH to get 20 might each time you use a potion (which your build is using a lot). The effect also applies to your thrown elixirs, giving you an aoe buff. I also like supply crate for emergency escape situations.

While adding new races is something that people would enjoy, the fact that each race has it’s own voice actors and unique story, the amount of work needed to add them is rather immense. If it does happen, it will probably have to wait till a major expansion.
Comon guys. When was the last time you did an Exp mode with lvl 68s? Be honest!
Never. I usually find 80’s.
You need 500 to make your legendary weapon. You can also use them to purchase rare and exotic armor and them break them down into Ectoplasm for crafting purposes.
Anet already has a system where if a certain post receives a certain number of reports, they review the post and take action. Automatic silence programs are a terrible idea as it allows a group of people to lock others out of chat by submitting false reports.
Avoid Alienware like a plague infested village. You’re paying several $100 just for the logo. Also, if you don’t HAVE to have it be a laptop, you could build your own tower that would run GW2 full on with no problems for 1/4 your budget.
I was playing the keg mini-game and my team was dominating the opposition so much that they all quit. Just before we scored the final point, the game forced half of us to the empty team and we lost credit for the win. Players shouldn’t be punished just because another team up and quits.
Dude, a dungeon gives you like 50s, even if you are fully broken the repair costs 10…
What about if you must repair 7 times? I mean, it happened to me. When you don’t understand the strategy to do to kill a boss, you try again and again… and your armor breaks… and no, you can’t continue naked :P
Education is expensive. Doesn’t mean it’s worthless.
Anet has a no refund policy for in game purchases.
This is one of the downsides of not having a sub fee. You can’t hire a large number of people to handle the thousands of tickets for erroneous purchases, so they have to put a blanket rule down to limit the workload. You’re just going to have to be more careful in the future and double or triple check everything.
As I said, this is completely debatable.
You guys are ok with the way it works in WvW but not in PvP? I don’t understand the logic here at all by that. Only difference is, WvW is a zerg, PvP is not. I prefer to not run around and turn a corner into 50 enemies.
Don’t go alone or don’t do WvW. Also, WvW isn’t just a zerg. If you start WvW building up defenses against the initial zerg (StarCraft anyone) then the zergers are in a bad way after their initial push fails. WvW is not a 20 min PvP game. If you don’t use a long game strategy then the other teams are just going to dominate.
- No same sex marriages.
In b4 flame war. I would remove this before people start getting mad at you. Besides, sense virtual marriages are meaningless, there’s no reason to not allow same sex marriages, for both serious and for the lulz purposes.
I should’ve listened yo you !!!
to many idiots twisting my words around already !!
I reported the thread myself !!!You make a statement, you own up to it. Many of us have heard people like you use similar words and justifications for an animus against same-sex couples. It’s not really twisting your words if we’ve heard identical arguments and can easily point out why they’re really bad. Maybe it just shows people of your type need to come up with sounder arguments.
You decide.
Actually that is twisting someone’s words. When you drag prepositional baggage, i.e. what others have said, and put it onto someone’s words, then the context of the argument isn’t about what they said but what others have said.
