We are currently working on the difficulty of the Assault Knight fights; I realize that sometimes its hard to get a full overflow or that there are non peak hours where server populations will be lighter. Hopefully with the difficulty changes, it will also make it easier for a good server to get ‘Six Minutes to Knightfall’.

Did you even see the new scaling of knights? Not even 1 had full 50 members and it still took more than 9 minutes to kill even one when people were split. And this comes after 7 tries at desolation, which always seems to be pretty much hardcapped.

With the introduction of the new ‘fix’ ANet strengthens my point even harder, now that six minutes to knightfall is clearly bugged and even more unachievable thanks to ‘we want you to play how we want’ mechanic of splitting zerg.

And again, stating your own opinion instead of sticking to the point in OP. I don’t want achievements to be free, I don’t want them to be achievable by simple logging in and I don’t want them to be GROUP achievements that are going to vanish after the LS is gone and are only tied to the other people performance, because individual skill doesn’t matter in zergfest.
Achievements should be personal and not tied to luck or good server/overflow. For example, 6 mins to knightfall is really not an achievement. It shows only wheter you were lucky and got it via bug, because doing it normally won’t acknowledge it (source: forums/reddit). Or do you mean that this is an achievement, because you were a part of nameless zerg and did it? How is it even an achievement? Be there and spam autoattack, yeah, challenge accepted.

And now it’s even better example of bad design of those achievements. Not even 1 overflow I was on bothered to do knights, because they do not have any rewards. I’d go on my main server (highly populated, yeah right, maybe in metrics), but no one is there.
Also, I’d like to clarify, I don’t mean meta-achievement nor do I care about it as well. The point of this thread is to make ANet aware that time-gated achievements that wholly rely on other people are not achievements per se, but rng achievements and I’m pretty sure the players are already fed up with rng in this game.

You are aware that the team that worked on the Marionette event didn’t work on this release, right?
It is very likely that this release were more or less already completed (or close to at least) when Marionette was released.
Btw, I’ve got no idea where did this come from, because I’ve never said anything about that as well as any other person in this thread, so good job with getting the point there, lordkrall. And even if it was completed at the time you’ve said, there’s no reason to NOT listen to the players and change achievements, that were clearly hated, i.e. time-gated group ‘achievements’.

I’d love to see ANet streaming how they get the achiev, because I strongly doubt they’d ever get it.

STOP doing achievements that rely on the other people, especially, the ones connected with TEMPORARY content. Seriously ANet, people complained already about group achievements when the Marionette was here and you’re doing it again. This is the best example of how you really listen to your player base.

I’m getting those wins anyway, because I play pvp. What really hurts me is that pve players have really easy dailies and pvp players have to work hard to get theirs. And people afk anyway…
New dailies. Why, GOD WHY, does it have to be 5 wins in yoloq and 3 wins in tpvp? Can’t it be games instead of wins? Pvp players will play anyway, but it’s supposed to be for daily, and seeing how pve dailies are fast and easy this must be a bad joke. Especially, in yoloq.
I do understand why mayhem cannot be joined as a group, but bell choir and wonderland? That’s just… sad.
Nope. I did it as the first achievement of the day and I always make JP monthly in the first day of the new month. And I’m preeeeetty sure, that it gave exp before, because I leveled my alt that way.
Did it a hour ago. Never got hit by the berserker. No achievement. GG ANet.
In other words… In the future, every simple cof farmer will get hands on everything pvp will have to offer? Because they won’t be obstructed by glory anymore. Or will there be any constrain?

Daily JP does not award experience anymore. Don’t know whether it’s intentional or a bug, but I remeber getting some exp before.
Thanks for clarifying that. It saved me a lot of time from leveling fotm. Not with these rewards, and not with this lenght of ‘upgraded’ fractals, where no real change was made apart from the bigger damage and quantity of the mobs.

Additionally, it requires LESS mobs, not MORE.
Unfortunately the change doesn’t apply to items that have already been acquired.
Can you at least make them salvagable or make it possible to throw them into mystic toilet?

5 days later and still no answer (#66769).
Did it 2 hours ago. It’s working, but the achievement is poorly worded. What you have to do is to lure the boss as far as possible from his crew and kill him without killing MOST of the crew – if some of them get lured in the process just kill them, we’ve killed around 5 or 6 mobs that way. The best moment to do this is when the watcher is near the 2 silver mobs that are behind the crew (also, you don’t need to kill them).
Additionally, some of us died during the fight with the boss and after the boss was killed, but we revived them before we killed the entire crew and everyone got achievement.

Can anyone tell me how do we get into solo queue now? Been trying for over 30 minutes know and I haven’t got any idea how it works.
Actually, you can’t leave tpvp match only when the window with the game starting pops out. You can leave it before it by going to roster and disbanding.
That’s why I’m not saying anything about punishment for 1 game. And sure, I understand something may come up and you need to go afk for a bit, but today for example, I had a person who was saying he’s afk, but all he did was stay on spawn and badmouth our team, enemy team, ANet, matchmaking and saying how great he was.

In my opinion you shouldn’t compare a full game development to changing a system in game that already exists. One of the reasons I wanted to remind about this is to get (not counting on it, but still) a clear answer whether the project was dropped or will be implemented.
They said it would happen “down the road” and “in the future”. Both are very vague but both also (to me) imply a long wait rather than something you should expect soon.
And that’s why I’m mentioning it now (4 months later) and not sooner.
So it’s another confirmation of such system and it’s 4 moths old as well… Don’t know if they’ve forgtotten about it or just throw the idea away.
Down the road, we’ll also be adding a reward structure to total achievement points, and we’ll be looking at revamping portions of existing UI to help players understand all the different kinds of content they can play and the types of rewards available. Once we have that framework in place, we’ll be able to really expand on the content accessible through the achievements system and provide you with even more new and exciting ways to play the game.

Four months passed and I still have not seen any rewards from total achievement points. Was this idea scrapped or will appear eventually? Any thoughts or some more info about it? Couldn’t find any more info on the forums, but something may have been said by a dev when I wasn’t around.

Yeah, I wonder too wheter it will EVER be fixed or not. I’m sitting with broken achievement from November or so, and now that we have leaderboards 10 point would be nice.
Guild Houses, instruments from lotro and “last online” from pretty much every single mmo.
Does anyone still hope that we’ll get to see some changes in the upcoming patch? To be honest, I’ve lost hope and don’t think we’ll get, for example, more combo stats for fractal capacitators and that we’ll be able to do anything to the unwanted rings (save for vendor).
80/83 for months now and of course all ticked.
So, according to the patch notes, we will finally be able to upgrade our new rings, but still the other problems remain…

I don’t have anything against progression, but I really hate the numbers I wrote above. It was supposed to not be a grindy game, except for the looks, and now when I think about those earrings and amultes AND the ascended to come, I truly believe ANet went astray from what they, well, lied to us.
As the topic seems to be dying out and the problems remain, I’ve deicded to write about it again, because this topic has yet to be fully answered. As someone previously wrote, it was said that the only grind we’ll meet in the game is for aesthetics. Now, we clearly see that is not true. Not only do we have to grind our kitten out to equip JUST ONE CHARACTER, but also there’s no real place for getting ascended on alts OR support for different builds. There’s even no alternative to get them. Even kittenty RNG in higher fractals would be better then waiting 6 weeks and paying 5g (earrings) or logging in everyday for 30 days (not counting monthly) just to get ONE item – amulet. So if I want to have 8 characters that are fully equipped with ascended trinkets I have to play FOR OVER 22 MONTHS just to get earrings. And that’s only the case when every character is with only one build.
Seriously ANet, what the hell? Didn’t you say you don’t want us to grind and enjoy your game? Let me remind your own words when the community questioned your “no-gear-grind” philosophy that you were so proud of.
We do intend to focus on horizontal but we will have vertical progression moving forward with the focus on zero grind and a very low power curve.
So, yeah, only the ‘very low power curve’ seems to be true. There is a grind and you CANNOT deny it. Numbers do the work themselves. GIVE US ALTERNATIVES – I think that’s the one and only phrase that most of the community would agree with.
And just to remind you, I’m posting the other problems from before:
1. Unbelievable cost of amulets and earrings with no possibility to gain them somewhere else – when people (like me) play on multiple characters, they cannot afford them, because you need to do 30 dailes or 20 dailes and monthly to get them. I have 3 fully equipped characters that I play everyday and the fourth one is coming soon. To equip amulets ONLY I have to play everyday as if it was a chore, but can’t do anything about it, because that’s the only way.
2. Fractal Capicitators are still missing variations.
3. Lack of possibilites with unwanted rings from dailies. They should be salvagable to get essence or at least something (other [especially rare] backslots should be salvagable as well).
4. Infusion problems with new rings. Even though we can buy new rings now, they cannot be infused, because there’s no recipe for them in the Mystic Toilet.
