Necros aren’t for everyone though. If your the kind of guy who gets a hard on from large crit damage, like most people seem to be, then Necro is not for you.
Very true,
They’re also a class that needs a lot of very careful positioning on a battlefield (which mostly comes down to experience and knowledge of the enemy behavior) as there’s very little in the way of an ‘outa here’ like many classes have, you can absorb it longer than a lot of other classes, but currently DPS massively trumps Defence in this game.
KnT Blackgate
Staff ele is one of the most potent support classes in the game, DD ele, not so much but they’re tough.
Mesmer, theres a few builds out there using c/dam and mantra heals which is very good in a support/ranged combat role as well, worth looking into if you don’t want to be a portal or single target power spec.
Necro, I personally run a very-high c/dam with high cyclic turnover spec, which I use to overwhelm people with condition removal and utterly destroy anyone who doesn’t. I’m pretty much a bipedal arrow cart.
There’s also the ‘Power/Well Bomber’ which is quite good for groups that roam and do hit/run tactics.
Aside from the DD Ele, most of those do require a group to function to the full potential. Depends what you want to do.

I get a the exotics same way as I get a the harlot, I pays for it!
Over 1100+hrs in wvw, gotten 4 x exotic drops-
Berserker amulet which for some reason was BoP- into the mystic toilet with it!
Named trident, which even given my dislike for water combat- I still actually use
Named axe, which had a pretty cool viking style skin, was going to keep it for an alt, but I don’t get time for alts, I work hard in wvw Sold!
Named sword, looked like a big tuning fork and had to kill a big zerg to get it, went same way as the axe for the same reasons.
1x Minstrel precursor off a veteran wolf that just wouldn’t bugger-off while we where trying to take Durios, I think I dumped 1 hit on it and ding it dropped. Part of me kind of wanted to make it, then I realized the sheer time/cash investment to make something which was actually fairly mediocre was crazy town. Sold to 25g to the highest bidder!
KnT Blackgate
I got a whole heap of ‘Drunk Siege Placement’ screenshots at home on my PC, though its a harder category to genuinely qualify for now in between ‘the ignorant’ and ‘deliberate trolling’
Then there’s the other things like me, reorganizing my siege bag, moving some stuff around. Run up to door, we’re dropping 3 rams, I’m dropping centre ram, pop the print down and we build it like a well oiled team.
Its an superior arrow cart… we’re all sort of looking at it for a while, trying to figure out if its a master stroke of complete and utter stupidity or genius on my behalf as its actually ripping the wall defenders to bits, but takes a bit longer to get through the door.
Also had a DD ele do that lightning charge thing to me on a borderland near one of the big cliffs on the western side as I was running siege, I dodged out of the way and he went flying off the cliff and died.
:o
loooool!

Good point. I wonder if JQ will ever be able to get back into T1, with their tactic being always aim at red.
We’ll all be back together eventually one day, like the great big, feuding inbred hillbilly clans that are the current T1.
Dat Cleatus fella from down dere blue mountain e come up n’ try an steal yer sister-cousin a’gin when yer tryin’ teh wrassle with th’ greenies over who own’d teh moonshine cave.
Unless of course Anet bollocks the whole thing up and we’ll be doing fist on faces for opening day, 6 days of pvdoor, grub bashing and puzzle ganking.
KnT Blackgate
Wow… well, in all honesty I think a reset will probably benefit a lot of servers kind of stuck in a rut against their more ‘over achieving’ rivals in the lower tiers.
KnT Blackgate
JQ: Boooooooooo!

Only a wvw player can apparently see server performance better than the administrators by pressing their skill buttons, heals, utilities and spectacularly, nothing actually happens.

on top of that one of there busiest citys has been flooded, the other half of australia is on fire.
Meh, we’ve got at least another 2 months of cyclones and a reasonably large amount of the place burns down every summer. I just hate working in telco, it just means extra work fixing everything so people can play games and calling emergency services.
(As opposed to their usual routine of playing games, calling their drug dealers and ordering pizza.)
KnT Blackgate
So any opinions on whether the patch improved the culling / model loading delay in WvW?
I’m also very interested in hearing if there has been any improvements to this and will be at work all day so I cant check for myself. That’s pretty much #1 for me… actually being able to see the enemy
KnT Blackgate
They didn’t break anything I actually like for once, Spinal Shivers getting adjusted positively… and stuff happened to things I will probably never use because they’re junk in the first place.
I’d call that a passing success really! :p
KnT Blackgate
Been some really high level fights today in the effort to take JQ down a peg in their own borderlands, pretty impressed, probably the hardest 500kills in a session I’ve ever had to earn so far. (bloody garrison lord out on the back steps making life harder!)
Our more recent BG transfers are certainly giving em some serious stick out in EBG, some real quality crews and its great to see.
KnT Blackgate
Only a wvw player will have to figure out just how to get their loot.
KnT Blackgate
Its cool guys, they’re all reported and recorded for Anet to look at.
KnT Blackgate
They’re comparatively similar to Guards in that Necro’s are the bane of high self-buff classes.
Timing- lot of them use a blow-out with a long knockdown and as a Necro, that’s a real weakspot because you don’t have a lot of Stability and you must be combat aware of their own Stability running.
Time your dodges
Time your chills
Time your fears
I run staff, sceptre + focus as the more ideal take-down, use your staff for the bleeds, chills, condition transfer and fear and the Focus with its 3-buff strip, is a good intermediary for keeping the outrageous enhancements to something you can deal with.
Remember, the majority of these guys are fotm players, they aren’t really very good in most cases and more than a couple of them macro or religiously practice the same set of moves. Because that’s what the guide on the internet said works.
Corrupt Boon… yes, sometimes its not a 100% hit and can be inadvertently dodged, but when it hits “HAHA! WHO THE MAN ON TOP NOW?” is something so funny, you cant help but stop laughing as they go ‘oh Im down, better mist form’ and ‘oh, Im dead… this class sucks’
Any remaining buffs, rip em off with the Focus
Don’t muck around even long enough to leave your phone number, pump-n-dump and heap as much damage in as you can. Sure, they’ll clear some of it, but… if youre like me and run as fast a cyclic timer as you can on my favoured weapons and abilites, just keep loading them up with BIP, bleeds, chills and poisons to the point- you will overwhelm them.

I wish I had the luxury of the spare time to do and hour or two of puzzle-ganking more often.
The bags, the tears are worth more than any exotic that ever fell out of a pve zone… which coincidentally, seem to be where former owners of the bags and tears come from.

Only a wvw player knows that both their server’s honour and community status are not resolved on a postage-stamp sized, instanced map or how many dungeons you run.
Only a wvw player already knows before anyone else, that once the practical activities of character equipment and levels are completed, that there is only the remaining challenge of mastering warfare against thinking opponents. Which is without end.
KnT Blackgate
I have been trying to get the message across that there are two sides to AoE. The damage output (say by us) and the damage received by the targets. It seems everyone is focusing on damage output and not damage avoidance/mitigation/survivability of the targets.
There are many glass canons out the complaining about our AoE (which we have had to incorporate in some build at a lot of expense to burst etc.) yet they refuse to modify their builds to add a bit of avoidance/mitigation/survivability so ANet solution is to punish us. Having said that, the choice to add some survivability etc must come at a cost and not simply be handed out as passive abilities. After all we have had to chose the opportunity cost of damage for survivability and AoE. But I fear this will be too hard for them.
Compared to say, physical damage avoidance (Invulnerability, Sanctuaries etc) on a handful of careers there’s a very large amount of ways to remove conditions on just about every class, some of whom have more than others and in some cases its on a passive removal!
If you choose to run around with your nuts in the breeze without a stunbreak and some kind of condition removal on any class in a pvp environment, then cry about it when they get clipped, you’re severely ignorant.
I spend hours explaining this to people in the guild I run with as part of PvP 101- yeah all your big number damage is great, but the last guy standing on a mound of outright dead enemies- wins, not by being the first who put someone into downed state and then falling over sometime straight after.
That’s not to say pure-glass doesn’t have its place, (gimp necro needs bags, please donate) but its a niche aspect for solo, hit-run experts and not straight out of the blocks newbies. PvP, is not an area as a newbie you should tread lightly into, this is where people have literally invested hours of research and 100’s of hours into learning exactly just how to kill you with the mechanics available to them.
My sympathies for the chemo, been there, done that and have a speedy recovery.

KnT also has about 25-30 Aust/NZ players in it now.
If you have TS3, the desire to spend pretty much all your GW2 hours embedded in nothing more than continuing the utter bloody destruction of our servers enemies every time you log on up until you log off.
We might just be fore you!
(We also have a couple of people that do some of that pve event stuff… but not very often, some of us even did a dungeon once or twice. All our NA contingent is also on a Meth diet and never really sleeps)
KnT Blackgate
If SOR picks up enough rating next week BG will move down just in time for some tougher competition to arrive. I personally think SOR is going to get squashed a lot harder than BG is, but that won’t stop them from hanging in the tier for a lot longer than they should if that is truly how it shakes out.
Lot’s probably happened over the last 2 weeks or so on SOR*, but despite some quality NA timezone guilds back then, even with their new additions I would imagine it would take a lot of work to pose anything more than spotty resistance to the current 1st and 2nd.
Unless some kind of major upset happens in the future I think its going to be a 2 horse race with 3 competitors for a very long time, for the 1st position in T1.
Problem with BG is that T2* isn’t going to pose much of a challenge if we’re using the same tactics and guilds we do here to the T1 servers. It’ll be a whitewash and it’ll a case of the 3rd-seed in T1 and the 1st seed in T2 swapping places on some kind of semi-regular basis.
*No disrespect intended fellas, I’m just calling it from experience, many hours online spanning across NA to SEA timezones over the last few months and personal observations.
Personally, if T2 happens sooner than later, there’s a large groundswell of us (in KNT + our smaller allied guilds AAO and BRO) keen to get back to our “DAOC 8-man” roots, tactics and get back to what I truly love… which is ganking zergs with a smaller team, taking their bags, listening to the tears hitting the forums and to hell with the score.
We’re sort of ‘part-way’ there, I would like it to be on a slightly higher gaming/discipline level and we’re not entirely unsuccessful at the moment, but it is very hard to practice that when you’ve got the scoreboard on the corner of your eye and our very seriously taken, alliance responsibilities of covering EBG.

Combining classes is the key to GW and often overlooked. Epidemic is our most synergistic capability.
All too true, Necro’s are one of the finest force multipliers for DPS and Combo’s around.
We run a con-bomb group in WvW- 2 necros, 2 mesmers and any other condition spec class we can round up.

Well of Suffering
I will never use the following because they are complete junk with either a very low-cyclic turnover to have any tangible advantage or ineffective to the point they’re useless.
Corrosive Poison Cloud

Signet of Spite
Signet of the Locust
Signet of Undeath

It all depends exactly what they do to what, which we don’t know.
All I know is that I honestly don’t see the base damage we do as being by itself ‘very-high/extreme’ if you’re just splattering around some marks and a well or 2. When I see people bragging about 17k damage from 100-blades, 10+k kill shots, 8k back stabbings from people you cant see in wvw… our damage is utterly miniscule!
As a condition-spec, my damage over time can be completely negated by ANYONE with a condition clearance in under 2 seconds and some of the passives condition removal can do it very quickly as well. Personally, I think if you run without a stun-break and at least 1 condition removal into a pvp environment of any type, your going to get it in the neck and its really only yourself to blame.
If you’re using Epidemic as a force multiplier (which is what I do essentially as a role) with your group correctly, the damage is situational very high… but, it only affects players and you’re not knocking down siege, walls or anything else.
Just from casual play and reading forums, I’ve not really seen anyone complain about necro’s damage! (well, not in any sense that ‘gee those necros pop out of nowhere and bust my crap apart before I can see them’ kind of damage complaint.)
Option 0
Anet nerfs my necro’s aoe damage, for no real obvious reason except they can… and in practice taking away my last crumb of enjoyment of this career. I get all my badges, make about 2 months worth of Omega golems and begin my career as a Robot Pilot, in the vain hope they’d roll-back sometime between me running out of badges to make more or I continue to level my warrior on the side. (those guys never get nerfed!)

I honestly think what’s hurting Blackgate and stopping them from getting these big Xfers was all the forum warrior kitten-talk done all those months ago, and again recently before their second jump to T1. It wasn’t done by any big name or respectable guilds, but done by the overzealous guys who troll forums more than they WvW. Would you bring your top-tier guild to a server that trashed talked and then couldn’t deliver?
It’s very unfortunate because some of you guys are excellent opponents on the field. But in this case, the masses of unknown have potentially ruined it for you guys. Something else could be that a lot of players have as Kurthos would say “gotten fat” from sitting around steamrolling T2 for so long. The same thing happened to JQ and SBI when SoS first came into T1, they had easy wins against dissolved HoD and ET servers with the only other competitors being BG and IoJ (the latter of which proved to barely be T2 capable). So when we (SoS) came in, we didn’t just raise the roof, we blew the whole kitten house up.
Its probably pretty easy in hindsight to also dwell overly much on any negatives, but people have to remember this isn’t a business where if an employee starts getting slanderous or stupid in public… we can’t exactly ‘sack’ them! Lot of any dumb comments are made by nobodies with just a user name and there’s not exactly an inquisition of people with the spare time to spend chastising trolls hiding under some sense of anonymity.
Like most WvW communities, I guess the dynamic is around 80% of the work is done by a very small percentage of the population. There’s huge guilds of people running around whacking mobs, getting shiny objects, cash and that’s all they do
Then there’s the wvw guilds made up of maybe 1000 or so people, that just spend their time punching tickets, taking assets, escorting and defending.
(You all should know us guys by now, you see us up there letting off fireworks, trollin’ your noobs, door open in the tower… and some of you just keep walking now. Dunno why, free keep n all)
That is the BG core WvW alliance, the people started on day one and our early transfers that never left- they, will never give up regardless of any score, or got fat from easy wins- which hold any other server together because ‘we fight for Blackgate’.
People can say all they want about the negatives.. but the counter, actual example to that is-
A great many more temporarily successful and very popular servers went spiraling down the crapper
Many ‘popular and good’ guilds tapped out, some ran off crying to other tiers when things got too tough…
“Blackgate” was still hanging in there.
Pride and Guts.
That is why Blackgate, is still here now.
That is why Blackgate will more than likely still be some kind of a major force in a few months time, regardless of who does/doesn’t transfer.
Looking on a long enough timeline, March might see a make or break more than anything else for servers, depending on how well Anet interprets its player needs/wants in the WvW ‘investment’ in February.
That’s when servers learn like we did in DAOC, to develop their organic people assets when there was no actual transfers.
If they get it right, there’s a huge human resource to tap into of people that like wvw, but they don’t like doing it because they essentially go broke buying siege and upgrades, with pretty much nil gear development from spending all their time there.
If they get it wrong, well, that’s a whole other death knell and not just for us.
KnT Blackgate
It is a decent enough comb-field (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Combo) but for the most part no, its mostly not very good unless like Drarnor mentioned, something is stupid enough to stand in it
Big problem… one of many I guess is that the necro doesn’t have many finishers.
KnT Blackgate
BG and SOS spent the better part of 2hrs punching each other in the head at reset and reinforcing assets… at some point the boys in blue decided that while we where quite happily belting it out, ‘oh lol lets take both their stuff!’
It didn’t need any kind of mutual agreement.
KnT Blackgate
Greetings fellow Australians,
I have been on Blackgate since day one, hour one and the main reason for this, is that the server was always going to WvW oriented and lets face it. Hitting mobs, doing dungeons and roleplaying a bipedal cat is for knob ends.
You don’t want to be a knob end do you son?
No sir I’m not some kind of mob chew toy, creepy basement dweller or wear a fur suit!
Here on Blackgate, we hunt the other white meat, ‘Humans’, but we’re also not going to draw exception to killing the slow moving, foreign robots, people that think they’re great but really aren’t and of course, the just plain bad.
We kill kitten near everything that walks, crawls or is dumb enough to walk through the portal, the great thing about this time zone, is that there’s a lot to kill, kitten it I’ve killed more people being on Blackgate than AIDS, stupidity, inbred hillbillys and the national road toll combined. Every time I kick over a rock on this timezone there’s some ’ard case who crawls out from under it wanting a go, makes aiming really easy.
Since day one, I’m one guy, on a gimp necro, surrounded by evil and need someone to run supply to the superior arrow carts so the enemy can have some shade to fight in, die a lot and give me all their badges.
But if that doesn’t appeal to you, at least come and help convince the well meaning idiots I play with that the country we come from, isn’t near Germany.
Cheers
KnT Blackgate
To be fair, if you know you’re going to face someone with Stability, you’re plenty equipped to keep ripping it right off. As for PvE… its staged encounters and not really that much of a challenge, go read a guide or something for ideas.
Our Fear abilities replace a lot of apparently useless stuff like Vigor, Cleaving weapons, Minions that actually work, Stability, power-specs, single target DPS… all that kind of stuff we’d never want to work or have in the first place because we’re all balling like coke beavers on the C/Dam spec.
KnT Blackgate
Maybe they’ll give us all a break and adjust AoE after they figure out how to make, oh I dunno obviously much less important stuff… like enemy players not rendering on your screen, stealth that’s not 100% uptime and all that kind of thing we use AoE to deal with in lieu of not actually being able to select a single target.
But, I’m kind of betting it wont.
KnT Blackgate
Ah its all cool, the big wvw BG guilds have done really well at getting sheer body counts in their engagements if nothing else at the end of the week to the point we’re seeing the enemy much… much cagier about attacking certain groups and assets.
Its just pretty amazing to see that many people from SOS and JQ fielded in such numbers, consistently over time that actually have the same direction. That more than anything else is something we’re working to counter.
Oh, and sooner or later like death and taxes I will get around dropping most all of you at some stage, so laughing, guildless nobody has something to look forward to.
KnT Blackgate
P.S. Yeah, you talk all the dirt you want about “unwarranted shrieking panic”. Anet doesn’t CARE that the wells are already on a massive cooldown, just like they didn’t CARE that we have 1 freaking second of fear when they nerfed THAT.
There has been no identifiable pattern, EVER, of the change-makers thinking what happens to necro when they swing the nerfbat at the other classes. If we don’t get hit, it will be out of sheer dumb luck.
What’s actually unwarranted is thinking that anet will suddenly change it’s ways through the sheer power of your positive thinking.
Mate, we’re on the same side
As jaded as I am about this class having to suck hind teat for any kind of favourable attention and with over 1100hrs into ‘just’ my necro, I’m really worried. But before I go flying completely off the handle- there does need to be some kind of hard info before I can make any kind of judgement if the class will have any viability.
If its as bad as I think it will be, we’ll go almost completely extinct from WvW like the Engineer has in recent weeks.
KnT Blackgate
You already nerfed the engi nades to the point were they are pretty much useless so now staff eles or necros will have to suffer a blow to AOE. IMO aoe is fine how it is now and should not be changed. What would be the point in playing a staff build ele or necro if aoe is useless? Your main damage is aoe without that your toast.
My simple solution to this would be:
Easy WvW Guide for New Users
1. Carry Supply, your team mates will like you
2. Rez your team mates, they will really like you even more
3. Everything you see or click on that is Red, will try to kill you
4. Don’t stand in the red circles on the ground, they will kill you
5. Don’t carry supply or rez people occupying the red circles on the ground
6. If you find yourself in the red circles, attempt to leave the red circle as expediently as possible
7. Don’t complain if you die in the red circles on the ground and no one comes to rez you, because they will also die.
8. Moving objects, enemy players, siege, friendly team mates, circles that are red, may or may not actually appear in game depending on the patch.
KnT Blackgate
So, before I go home this arvo and start actually investing some ‘xp time’ and cash into my Warrior in unwarranted shrieking panic.
Are there any hard facts gleaned from this?
Like many here, the necro is ‘all about the AOE’… mostly cause its got bugger all else, but hey we do what we can with what we’ve got, or may not have in the near future.
KnT Blackgate
- The only profession that truly isn’t ready for a released product.
Lot of really good points raised which Anet would be wise to consider for helping Necro’s out, I don’t agree that the class isn’t ready for release. Its viable enough on the Condition-spec to be playable and just make ‘par’ so to speak by (barely) scraping across the line in some condition specs. I still play mine, I kill a lot of people in wvw and it gets the job done.
I wont kid anyone though, all my utility skills have been the same 3-4 regular and 4 situational-use (wells) ones with Plague Form as my elite for about 900 of the last 1100hrs of playtime… because the rest are so bad, completely useless, underwhelming and just downright awful you would have to be drunk to think they’re any good.
Does this make the necro a completely unsalvageable pile of excrement? No of course not, they have in my opinion:
1. Probably the best self-heal in the game with consume conditions and one of the better high output, AOE, static heals with the well.
2. Maybe ‘the best’ set of combo-fields available.
3. One of the most (situational) devastating (to players) AoE abilities in the game with epidemic
The problem with those 3 is, that to truly work well, you need the right situation, circumstances, friends to play with to maximize the output and potential of your necromancer.
Its not like any other class where you can just roll out the door, no brainer mash 2-3 buttons along with your auto-attack and be instantly rewarded… like heartseeker spam or 100-blades. Plus, you hope to heck that whatever you’ve just invested yourself into, is something that you can actually kill, because you’re not leaving unless it or you is dead!
Anet probably likes to call this a ‘hard to master and rewarding’ player experience… but that’s probably because you’re running at around 1/4 to 1/3 of the actually viable playstyle options than any other full career does!
KnT Blackgate
kittens about to get real on SoS tomorrow, you heard it here first t1
Oh you guys are finally having your bake sale? I’ve been waiting forever for that! I’m gonna stock up on some cookies and maybe a pie or two. Sweet.

They can come up with a system that rewards you toward a kill if you applied various boons to the damage dealers, conditions to the people who died and stuff like that. Ideally it would promote grouping and everyone splits the “points” with their group.
DAOC had a similar system in its mid to-later development I think, where if you healed your team mates, rezzed, temporarily buffed them etc, it would award you some xp/realm points for doing so.
It did lead to people running a lot more ancillary, group-friendly abilities and a better overall game I thought because people where equally rewarded for what they did.
Its pretty important to remember players like the support-guards, engineers, staff ele’s and shout-heal warriors who offset their personal ‘mad dps’, to keep a group going with those buffs, condition removals and extra healing when we would never have won a fight without them… and often won fights that no one normally should have lived through!
I dunno about realm ranks, in DAOC I had mid-high RR on some characters which tended to only become viable really after RR4+ to a group, in WAR I was in the top-5% bracket which just sort of didn’t do anything much except have zergs of newbs chase me down on the off-chance I dropped something shiny… after I killed a lot of them
So there needs to be some middle ground where you’re both viable, desirable to a group for your spec and not necessarily RR, which shouldn’t be a ‘massive’ increase to anything more than 1-2pts in stats or a few 2-3%’s of resistances here and there.
Course, as someone with now over 1000hrs just in WvW who’s spent a lot of late nights protecting my server’s honour, never left when we bounced off rock bottom, outmanned or ran away and hid in PvE… I will probably cry a bit if they didn’t grandfather my time in the trenches on this crptacularly buggy necro of all classes and make all these 1000’s of badges useful for something!

I am in this video
. I am the D/D ele in his bottom party slot, th male sylvari!
Man, that was a blast last night. Talk about farming loot bags xD.
Man, I hate it when the KnT-HB train of destruction is a rolling through a zone and I’m stuck at work
Think one of my fondest memories in recent months was loading up the big-bridge in hills with about 50-60 enemy that had punched a hole in its walls. We’d dropped about 3 sup-ballistas and some AC’s in the lord room, had 12 KnT on the bridge and managed to portal-up about 10-12 HB who none of the enemy knew about.
The inner wall goes down.
A wave of meat and sharp objects comes tearing over the bridge and hits the ‘KnT Wall’ and goes * boing *… well, they dunno really what to do at this point as walls aren’t normally looking like fat-azz norn tanks that wont move and wont die to auto kitten attack builds. Smacking them to the ground, blowing suckers off the bridge, bolts cutting them down and I’m dropping might stacked con-bombs that would kill a small city
Think about 20 die outright in 5 seconds.
Then the big red troll sneaks out from under his bridge with his friends and its pretty much a competition to kill as many as possible to meet up somewhere in the middle. Someone frap’sed it, but I’ve never seen it released.
Whats the score for the ‘game-bereft and gainfully-employed’ of us at the moment?

SBI will not be returning to T1 anytime soon, no longer have the coverage. SoR look strong favorites as they can run 24/7 (at least at the moment).
Unless things have drastically changed since I last saw, SOR had a coverage hole you could (and we did) drive a relatively small truck through. SOR NA prime = very strong, SOR at any other time evaporated.

To get out of this, BG would need to get players in and hunker down wiping out any SoS and JQ advances in their territory(home corner in EB/north area in BL) consistently until SoS and JQ feel it is a waste of time to push on BG and start to focus each other. Then BG has the freedom to side with any team and push the other one hard, taking territory and increasing their point ticks.
In terms of avoiding engagement, it would make it easier for BG if SoS and JQ were to start fighting each other as it would ease pressure off them and allow them to make the push.
Hypothetically and logically, yes I agree… The reality as someone who was pulling 2x 15+hr shifts over the weekend in that corner of EB showed that on the 2nd day- there was literally human-wave attacks from both JQ and SOS there for hours upon hours.
They didn’t really take anything, they literally died in the thousands from KNT ‘murder balls of fun’ + other BG guild members turfing them out, but the EB-BG team wasn’t able to punch out except to flip peripheral towers before being called back for another defense (against both servers at the same time) and no reserve for holding recently taken towers or supply escorts.
Because the reserve- was already fending off one server or the other on a higher priority asset.
So, by about 2am (Sydney Time) I am completely flogged and went to bed. At the time it didn’t make sense to me why anyone would chuck themselves at us, die pointlessly, never change their tactics past some rudimentary siege placements (until they got blow up over and over) and achieve nothing.
The reality of yesterday when I got home from work, shows that at some point sending 2 servers with non-stop people into that corner must have worked eventually as it was all green and blue.
Tactically inelegant, but I have to admire the sheer tenacity to keep up that kind of pressure.

But there is one benefit to being 2v1’d: more action!
They seem to like dying a lot, that’s for sure!
Think at one point yesterday it peaked to around 180+ kills/hr just whack-a-mole as fast as possible between killing the shrieking JQ horde attacking Ogrewatch while the dozens of SOS hitting Overlook started running back from their last beating.
And, pretty much did just that for 8hrs which actually suits me just fine sending glass-cannons back to spawn all day for the lulz with a repair bill, would have been nice to be more on the offensive for more PPT but just not possible with 2 whole servers on you at the same time.

Today, learned how to bust a few culling-bombs.
Tomorrow, they shall learn fear.

Actually I LOVE playing with my tag on..I make a great decoy because everyone starts rushing me to try and kill me
I love just downing them and loading them up with conditions so I can blow up their erstwhile server mates coming to rez the dev

Aside from the busted utilities, bugs, completely useless pets, barely any self buffs, no group buffs and some really awful skill lines, the most ‘difficult’ aspect to the necro is the complete lack of top end synergy.
Deathshroud, Plague Form, Lich Form etc, are so alien from conventional skills they essentially have to be ‘learned’ as their own playstyle lines.
I really worry we’re going to get an indirect bollocking from AoE adjustments in the near future and the viability of the class in its present form will slip from barely playable to essentially worthless. As its pretty much all they’ve got going for them.

Yeah, its pretty annoying, however its not the ability doing it, the actual sigils seem to be bugged. If you notice it happening, unequip/re-equip all your weapons and it seems to fix it.
