So, there was a big deal about the karma change not being announced, but today I went to change some cores into lodestones and Elonian wine had DOUBLED in price. It wasn’t even in the patch notes. Where was my warning for that? For the 200 charged cores I was slowly changing into lodestones. Thanks! Unless this is a mistake? I hope it is…
+1
Please, please no more zerg events. Especially not ones where you’re required to do 5+ hours of farming to unlock the (apparently good) content. I didn’t even farm Orr but I can’t imagine how sick people are of zergs after the pavilion patch.
I must conclude the OP is being sarcastic. This is just more zerg farming, it is not fun… at all. Lots of people does not automatically make it fun, unless you are new to this game you have been doing this sort of thing repeatedly (karka event, wvw, pavillion, orr zerging, group events like the dragons – pressing one for hours yay!). You just port around waypoints hoping to tag as many champs as possible, and these achievements are made mandatory in order to try other forms of the new content. Not only that, but tagging scarlet is hard due to her low health and gives little reward. Winning or losing certainly matters little with respect to rewards, and storywise not at all (not to mention an uninspiring story on the whole and a lame villian).
I refuse to believe this content is being made permanent as others have said, it is exactly the same as [insert zerg farm here] but the bosses are not even interesting as most are repeats of what we’ve seen before. The clockwork guys look kinda of cool, but I’d never know their mechanics from a zerg. Zerg farming is boring, repetitive and there are better farms strictly for money than this event. Giving good rewards wouldn’t even make up for it, as fun in an MMO must be a combination of getting things and doing things — and earning things by doing awesome things is the best combo. I was shocked to see the achievement requires 13 maps — 13 hours of farming this. Yikes. At least 6 to get access to the dungeon. The last patch was infinitely better, as at least the pavilion farm had different enemies and the gauntlet was fun and innovative.
Please… no more farm events that I have to do over and over to get achievements/rewards – and more outrageously – access to the rest of the content. Anet has repeatedly made content people can’t rush through, but the answer is not to punish us with purposely delayed content. Please just expand the regular world with more maps, weapons, skills and make wvw bigger and better – and new race maybe. Enough with this living story and its pressure to play boring content now, now, now before you miss it! Special skins before you miss it!
Agree with everything OP said. Trying to PUG tournament games is just brutal the way matchmaking is currently, and hot join games are often a zergfest. If this was a monthly task I could wait til friends were on to do tournies, but its a daily …ugh.
In general, making the daily take a lot longer with the same rewards is just making the game more grindy. I can’t imagine anyone actually wanting this change.
Also yes I do care about the achievement point. As I am trying to stay on the leaderboard (7500+ pts) the way achievements currently work, it is MUCH more efficient to do all the dailies then to grind out 5 points for other things (idk why the top tiers for all the achievements are only 5 pts). I am done all the easy to get points now. Reweighting actual achievements would help or simply changing tournament won to tournament played.
Thanks

Alternatively, reweight the achievement points that are hard to actual award a significant amount of points, thus making the daily just one part of the points rather than so overwhelming. Right now, if I miss even 1 daily for 5 days its like doing the top tier of another category, completing a new dungeon, etc.
Hi,
I didn’t put this in spvp forum because the problem for me is more broad. The 2 tournament daily wins is time consuming and frustrating. I use to really enjoy doing spvp daily now it feels grindy as hell. Please make it games played! I don’t have to get frustrated with teammates!
Now I know people will say – you don’t have to pick that one – which is true (even if hotjoin is a zergfest) – however it is true if I want to stay on the point leaderboard (I am rank #120 something). The 10 dailies + spvp dailies means that I have little time for anything else. The point leaderboard seemed really fun to me as I could work on maxing out different titles, playing in different parts of the world, but doing things like weapon master or slayer only nets me 5 points whereas the various dailies are 16 points/day. So I have to do ALL the dailies to be an ‘achiever’. This does not seem to reflect achievement in the game by any stretch of the imagination.
There is so little endgame content at this point, if I give up on the leaderboard I will probably give up on gw2. I don’t want ot do that because I think the combat systems and dungeons and such are great.. just need more of it! The daily grind has been upped 3 times in the last couple months. Please at least put spvp back to where it was.
I agree with OP. Dailies are supposed to let you play how you want and get rewards. Fun! New spvp dailies are grindy and make me focus on “oh I need 2 more kills” rather than playing the game in the best way possible to win (same problem with things like keg brawl daily). +1 to Exedore
With the new daily you cannot just stick to tpvp – no unique maps – plus getting kills and captures are much harder especially if you like to play something like bunker. It feels like you’re just trying to fill up people’s time in lieu of no new content (which I suppose is dailies anyway, but at least pve gets me back into random zones).
I had a very similar experience to the OP. We tried changing classes, we watched a number of vids, but it was still a no go. Maybe we didn’t have enough DPS, but that seems to go against Anet general philosophy about dungeons: any 5, or a balanced 5 at least, should be able to finish it.
The sparks have pathing issues and aggro on people trying to fight the boss.
I found this fight very frustrating. The idea of it is neat, but even with good coordination and trying different methods we only got the boss to about 40%. I would like to see a change here; I have had no other problems with any dungeons in the game even high level fracs.
Thanks
Hello,
I see in the patch notes that triforge can be upgraded to ascendant. I imagine the stats are the exact same as the ascendant amulet that pumps all stats and is available via laurels. Can anyone confirm this? Glad I only made one piece… I guess
Hm. I have made 1 out of 3 pieces. I think I would have been quite dissapointed if I had made the whole amulet and it turns out there is a (strictly) better ascended one; it would be odd for them to make such an expensive item totally obsolete (I mean, unlike a legend it has no skin). Perhaps there will be no ascended amulet that buffs all stats like the triforge, even if its current stats are not upgraded.
I don’t know if this is the right forum for this question, or if people know the answer but: will triforge pendant be upgraded to ascended stats?
Thanks
Thanks, that puts my mind at ease. I was a bit worried because I are a few others are the only members and have all transferred. Someone had suggested to me if no member of the guild was on the original server it would reset :P
Sooo
I transferred servers since my guild was. However, I also had my own guild just so I could have an extra bank to myself. I can no longer access that bank from the new server, which I did not know beforehand. The important thing is: if I go back to my original server will the items still be there?
Hello,
I searched the forums for this topic, but did not see it answered anywhere. I bought the 43k karma armor from orr (medium) and there is a purple band on the right leg I am unable to dye. It is really irritating. Is there a pair of pants with 4 dye channels, that I can buy and change the 4th channel to be the colour I want?
Thanks!
Thanks Zenyatoo. The 5/6 thing is kind of weird. Maybe its not working quite right right yet? I will keep an eye out for further ranks.
It’s like Tinkerer, I just transmuted armor, weapons, etc. I don’t know how many I did to get it, because (at least currently) these hidden achievements do not show up on your panel even after you get them.
She does indeed show up later, and since I didn’t choose her storyline the scene she’s in might make more sense to you. It’s later, in Arah, so she either joined an order or is fighting there for some reason. She’s also with some guy and they have a scene together… he was not a character I was familiar with but you might be when you get there.
I have been posting about achievements, and I was informed there were some hidden ones. Much to my delight, I have found one and managed to screen it. It was “Hobby Tinkerer” — I got 6 points for it, but it showed up as 3 instances of 2 points. Do you think that might indicate I have hit tier 3?
There is a “Tinkerer” title in the tradesman window, but not “Hobby Tinkerer”
Zentyatoo, thanks so much for the info. What is an “explorer” icon though? And was it a title or just an achievement?
Thanks!
Yea, I know you can see it while they’re in your party/on your friends list, but I agree with Bluestone. Oh I have 1700, he has 800. Booyeah…. Also, geez, I am not trying to impress my friends!!
In other words, they aren’t public like titles. More so than “public” though, the GW1 titles had really funny names, and were achieved by doing a variety of interesting things. When you saw someone with a neat title on, you thought — hey, which title is that? Or, at the very least, it tells you something about what they enjoyed in the game – minigames, pve, pvp, etc. Some were truly feats, like I mentioned (the drunkard title in GW1 was very hard to get prior to the change in the last 6 months or so).
Also for completionists its a very satisfying feature… the achievements physically can’t be ‘completed’ because 1) Some are repeatable 2) Agent of entropy can be gotten infinite times 3) even with 5 character slots you cannot do all the story paths.
When I posted in the suggestions forum, someone said there were hidden achievements. Can anyone confirm that, or was he just making stuff up?
@ Nels — where did you get the info about hidden achievements? I would be so jazzed if that were true!! I did ask in another forum if anyone knew of hidden achievements before I posted this, but no one seemed to think there were any.
Well, since I seem to have not missed anything, I posted something in the suggestions forum… not like anyone actually reads it. You can go give my post a +1 if you are so inclined — together we can get more titles! (maybe).
Hello,
I was a major title hunter in GW1 and it is really what kept me hooked on the game. I played it on and off for five years and was still getting titles up to GW2 release!
Achievement points are really not the same as the cool title tracks in GW1 (legendary defender of ascalon, incorrigible ale hound, kind of a big deal, etc.). Right now the title choices are very odd – either very easy (achieved without actually trying for it – Guild Warrior, Combat Healer), in PvP, or extremely niche (all the minipets? thats just a money/gems title). The hobby dungeon one is the only one that seems worth doing. Going for gear is all well and good, but titles are something that set GW1 apart for me, I have no idea why it would abandoned, especially since they’re so easy to implement.
Some ideas I thought of:
- Title for completing a whole pane in the achievements section (like “slayer of all” for completing every slayer achievement or “weapon master” for the every weapon achievement, etc.)
- Title for discovering every possible recipe in a given crafting discipline (esp. fun for cooking)
- Title for unlocking every dye colour on a single character
- Title for finishing all the jump puzzles (how is this not one already?)
I would even be fine with each ‘tier’ of achievement points unlocking a title — like earning a title at 1000, 2000, 3000 achievement points and so on.
Some of the titles in GW1 were really hard to get and so they were just as much a badge of honour as elite gear. Please, please bring this amazing aspect back for PvE lovers like me!!!
I know they can see titles, but the achievement points, or whatever I don’t think they can see.
The dungeon title is essentially the only one I can think that is comparable to GW1-style titles. I’m sad that they made gear the only thing to go after, it just means grinding various things (karma/dungeons). Titles were what kept me hooked to the first game up till the release of the second.
Hello,
So I was huge title hunter in GW1 (1 title short of kittenong Mere Mortals!). I am lvl 80 now, and kind of ready to start title hunting… but I am coming up short. Most of the titles are really easy (combat healer and guild warrior I got without even trying) or in WvW… which is ok sometimes but not my cup of tea in general.
Having a little achievement number beside my name is really not the same as “I’m Kind of a Big Deal”, “Legendary Defender of Ascalon”, etc. Can other people even see your achievement number?
Anyway — am I missing something? Like do you get a sweet “slayer of all” title, when you finish the entire slayer pane? Are there other titles that aren’t listed in the achievements window, but that you have to discover for yourself?
