Hi,

The grandmaster traits “harmonious mantras” and “empowering mantra” were swapped trait lines. Harmonious is now in dueling and empowering is now in domination (used to be the other way around). Is this intended? It’s not in the patch notes.

They NEED to put “can’t be salvaged/forged” on karma and badge vendor weps.. I really don’t see why they can’t do this as it is absolutely not transparent why these should not be allow to be forged, etc. It used to work that once you skinned over them HoM skins or zenith skins you could salvage but I think they fixed that.

Try sending a ticket I guess!

Hmm, well unfortunately I think the transmutation charges are only being given for ranks as a one time thing, so if they fix it on Tuesday I won’t get the extra charges.

This content is still disabled. Will it be fixed before the patch Tuesday? I know it’s minor but I could get an extra transmutation charge out of it if it ranks me up (with the rebalances 5000 RP is like 1/4 of a rank, right?).

I’d rather have the glory to try and make some last minute skins but it would be nice to use the item I bought!

This megaserver system is a mixed bag, as other have noted. I know the problems it is trying to address (people whining about OFs in living story for example, and empty maps for new players).

I just hate the idea of not being able to control what my map I am on. You can’t even have your party “look around” for a better map any more since you are prioritized to be in the same map as them.

The GW1 district system was still better. It’s like OFs but you can hop around to check for a map which suits your needs (either empty or full). TTS, etc. can look for an empty map to run teq/wurm. RPers can have a RP map. Guilds can host events in a certain district. All players can hop around looking for a group (if they want one) or an empty map (if they want to solo). This system was simple and had a lot of advantages.

…except they are not taking away your legends. It’s more like if they said there would be a cap of 20 legendaries when the highest someone in game has is 18. Which they wouldn’t do because it’s completely different.

The “acheivement” will be more meaningful when it doesn’t mean ‘log in every day.’

Capping how much you can do each day is a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE idea. It means new players will NEVER catch up and will gain AP at very slow rate if they are trying to go for the shiney boots all of a sudden.

This cap would take 2000 days for the average player to reach the cap!!! As others have said – why all the whining about something that won’t affect you for YEARS? They pandered to AP hunters in this change because really affects us.

I said this another thread – I have 19.2k AP (around 100 on leaderboards) and it will still take me 142 days of doing EVERY daily to reach the cap.

This is a very high cap and will not affect 90% of players. As an achievement hunter I am very grateful as I don’t have to feel like every day I can’t log on is a missed 10-16 points.

The only thing I would like to see is scaling some of the high level acheivements up a little bit. It seems silly to get 5 points for 500 harpoon kills and 5 points for 5000. If that top tier was 10-20 points I might consider putting the time in to do the weird weps (or giants) or some other random acheives.

Also add more acheivements which are more fun/different than dailies!

But overall quite happy.

I have 8.1k dailies and 1.7k monthlies and 19.2k points overall. I am around 100 on the roster or whatever its called, so the highest person has about 3k more points than me, chances are those are not only for dailies and monthlies so they are not at the time cap but likely close.

This change is a good solution to the APs going up like crazy all the time. I won’t feel like I have to do every daily all the time to keep up on the leaderboards or that going on vacation is X amount of points I will never get back. It will still take me over 100 days (if I do all the dailies every day) to hit the cap. I am fine with that.

New players (or players with renewed interest in points) have to feel like they theoretically could catch up to #1 eventually, and with the daily APs previously it was impossible for new players to catch up. It will still be hard (especially with LS achieves gone by), but at least possible to start gaining on us veterans once we hit the cap.

Nothing really like Protectorate in the game. The starter guardian shoulders with the ankh is about as close as it gets. Maybe the ascended hat but its pretty big.

Nothing with long flowing tabards or robes nor big bulky armor with huge shoulderpads.

This change is very exciting for 90% of people with legendaries. I have two, and am excited even though I do not plan to put them on all my characters including a fine version on my lvl 2

I suspect it will cost more transmutation charges for skins of purple rarity, and of course, will not come with ascended mutable stats (as said).

If you made two of the same legend, that sucks, but you a) lose nothing b) got to enjoy those two skins for the past X amount of time while no one else had them c) live with the decision to do so – I regret dearly vending lord knows how many stacks of silk (and a million other things of this nature).

I have a friend who made his second incin last week. He was kind of bummed, but the excitement about being able to share all his skins across characters (he has 4 or so legends and lots of gem store skins) outweighed the time lost on 2nd incin.

Game changes are always going to have some downsides, but I am more excited for this patch than anything that has come out! Being able to collect all the skins and customize looks across alts with ease will be very satisfying!

I notice the destroyer crab in CoE p3 glitching through walls and jumpin around today. We usually kill it, but skipped because of this.

The troll bug has been reported here and on the dungeons forum, but no response.

For people who ran 2-handed weps before it will be a both and situation not either/or. For those who ran 1-hand with BL + something else and then swapped, you will have to make a choice. Unless the stacks stay as long as one of your weps has BL, then it won’t change anything very much.

I for one will likely run BL on one wep and force/night or something on the other for dungeons. If you keep BL as long as any single wep you have has BL, then my sigil set-up won’t change at all.

As for 5 stacks/kill, that is only when you kill players.

I wonder if they will change it to lose stack on defeat and not on downed, like they did for applied strength, etc. in WvW.

If that is how it will work, i.e., track BL per weapon it will make a big difference. But people who ran predominantly 2-handed weps will not care, before they just had a GS with BL and one with something else. Now they can just have both on the same wep and not have to switch all the time.

What I want to know is if you have a bloodlust sigil on one of your weps, can you still have a second wep with BL to stack faster and swap out of the second one and retain the stacks. If so, the change won’t make a huge difference.

I run in a fairly elitist dungeon group and sometimes our guardian WILL use dogs. Renewed focus doesn’t do damage. Things that don’t do damage are bad in really fast speed runs. So screw those guys!

Leveling up a new char in GW2 isn’t all that fun alone already, I had friends who couldn’t get into it. But I guess being a veteran player I don’t really care about that.

No. Leveling is the main thing I do in the game. I have 25 characters planned out that I’d like to level at some point (haven’t bought all those slots yet, don’t worry ^^ ). Making leveling less interesting, less enjoyable and less rewarding is not the way to go.

I think you misunderstood me. Leveling (I find) quite boring now. I don’t think the new changes will do much either way, at least hunting for ‘elites’ is cool. But since I have 6 lvls 80s I’m not going to getting my panties in a knot worrying about whether or not this change is good until it comes out, since it does not affect me very much. The other changes rock imho.

Best patch ever. As bad as I want new content, being able to switch builds and having something like GW-1 elite skills is awesome. Having PvE skills that ranked up like the ones in EotN would be great too.

I don’t really mind the change, but no patch notes, and having it drop AC tokens is borderline offensive on the sloppiness scale.

If they don’t want people to perfect speedruns of old dungeons they should make new content so people have a new challenge and won’t spend as much time trying to do [insert path here] in 3-4 min. Also why this path? It would seem like others are generally faster/more rewarding (e.g. SE1).

Rewards are obviously a big issue and I’d like to see the rewards get better too. But more gold, emp fragment or even karma are not what I would like to see.

I would like to see unique rewards (skins would be especially good) tied to certain fractals. This would lessen the desire to roll (esp. if water frac had a cool skin).

As mentioned before, having LS items (monocle, molten backpack, aetherblade skins, etc.) drop in associated fractals even at very, very low chance would add excitement.

Having a reward you can ONLY get at lvl 50 or lvl 40-50 would make progression in and of itself rewarding. Having a special relic drop every run at 50 that lets you trade in 10 (for example) for a fractal wep would be really good way to ensure a skilled player can obtain the wep with hard work, while everyone else can still have a chance RNG.

The principle that legendaries are NOT best in slot weapon should be enough reason to change this. It is more effective to not run a legend than to run one because of the swapping. And people swap weps frequently for dungeon speed clear and wvw.

Sigil library where you insert them and then can switch out of combat (like stats) would be awesome.

- Magg sometimes fails to trigger the event in the first devourer room. I had this stall out for me two times in a row once, even after dungeon was reset.
- Magg sometimes does not run all the way into the room for the flame orb collection, but stands back in the previous room; running to him here makes it harder as it is significantly farther away

The first part I have never seen but my only guess would be that someone didnt bring Magg into the room he needs to be in to start that first burrow event. If no one actually does this or knows he doesnt go into it automatically, thus the event will not start. Im going to say dont add this to the bug list because I dont think its a bug. Correct me if im wrong

The second part has a variety of bugs: Magg will only glitch completly, as in he gets stuck in a rock and doesnt accept the bombs anymore if you fail the Timed Bomb Collection and the explosion literally can knock Magg out of place. What your talking about does happen to, and though it should be fixed, this at least doesnt break the entrire instance

Lol, not to be rude but I’m not stupid. I’ve run CoF hundreds of times. We brought Mag into the room, he did not trigger the event.

This post is full of internet rage, but I have to concur the quality of this patch was really disappointing to me. The first day when the knights glitched for me three times, then scarlet glitched when I finally got in (we finished it but no rewards) and then glitched again the next day (invuln at 25%), I felt like logging out and never logging back in. It is a long fight, bugs are much more frustrating.

I have 18.7k acheivement points but am not going to attempt In Tune and no Tricks, since it took me a long time to actually get them unlocked, i.e. to beat scarlet due to bugs. I am simply sick of the event and the time it takes to do it and then to fail (with no warning, because of aoe attacks, because of pets/clones). It just feels like these events and achievements are not very well thought out or tested, and for the finale it was a big disappointment. Even a little thing like not getting to skip the cut scene when there is an achievement to complete following it is a pretty egregious oversight. And it only took me 8-10 tries, I was sick of the video the first time.

I am a horder and this is literally the FIRST time I have ever thrown out an LS item before the end of the event, since I think the back piece is very ugly and description specifically says it is used for the back piece. I simply couldn’t justify taking up all the space in my bank for stacks so I just took the plunge and tossed em.

Lo and behold the patch hits and there’s an achievement for making it. Trololol.

Obviously the main reason for people to transfer servers is WvW success.

I have a guild of friends about 10 people and we are on Blackgate. I would happily transfer away to a lower pop server for free, since getting into WvW or main map for PvE is basically impossible anyway.

Biggest problem: Guild influence does NOT transfer. It took us a LONG time to unlock the biggest guildbank and bounties. For me this is the biggest deterrent from transferring.

If anet allowed free transfers to lower pop server AND free transfer of guild influence, guild bank and its contents (only to lower servers) for me that would be a massive incentive to switch. I don’t know if this is true for others.

Citadel of Flame
Path 1
- After the flaming puzzle, when the door opens on the far side the door will sometimes push players into the wall, getting them stuck.
- The slave driver(first boss) will sometimes go invulnerable when close to a wall
Path 2

- In the burrow hold-out room, it is still easy to dash, GS, or FGS through the wall on North end of the room when attempting to kill burrows and get stuck on the other side away from your party.
- Ranged classes, especially rangers, still have a hard time attacking burrows (receive “obstructed” message)

Path 2
Final boss will swim into the ceiling and not come down for some time (same kind of thing as krait in underwater fractal)

OP is not talking about WvW bonus.

He said he and his friends had the guild buff up and it seemed to have no effect (he said WvW bonus should just be gravy, like he should notice it even more).

In my post I added that I thought the gathering booster was also not working correctly.

I believe the bonus is 10% better chance at rare loot – presumably this means getting orbs and crystals to drop while mining/logging, or UNid dyes to drop while gathering plants.

It is unclear to me if you get 10% chance extra or the chance is increased by 10% – for example if the “regular” chance of mining a rare mat is 10%, you banner will give you a 10% increase from this “regular” chance (i.e. your chance is now 11% overall instead of 10%).

Nevertheless I am almost certain the gathering booster is not working. It says “33% chance at extra resources while gathering” (NOT extra chance, just chance). This can’t mean 33% that whenever you hit a node you get 2 of the resource instead of one, this NEVER happened to me while mining for the full hour with the booster on, and it should proc on average on every single node (which has 3 hits), if this was the case.

If it means 1/3 chance of having the node produce an extra hit, my result was also much lower than 33% (maybe around 10% but probably lower). I could have been unlucky, or the tooltip on the booster is wrong. What it means is 33% increased chance of mining extra, so like the above example, if the regular chance of getting a 4th hit on a node is 10%, then your chance is 13.3% with the booster on.

Anyway, as you can see the banners and booster do very little, but this may or may not be intended.

Hmmm.. it’s obviously not the case that all your traits stop working when you’re wielding an elemental weapon. And the trait its not tied to wielding a particular weapon or using a mesmer skill. I mean mender’s purity (for example) doesn’t stop working when I use fgs.

I take the point about a clone spawning holding fgs, though I’m pretty sure clones still spawn when you are holding other bundle items (like something for a quest).

There are number of champs that don’t drop boxes. Some of these are at the beginning of dungeons (fear of farming?) but, even so, most would be utterly inefficient to farm.

If this is NOT a bug, please make non-dropping mobs called something else for clarity – make them super elites or something. I think this should go for all non-dropping champs in large group events too. Many people will not have any reason to know these mobs don’t drop and will waste time fighting champs that ought to be kited, etc. It also makes people who aren’t “in the know” feel cheated of their loots.

Feel free to pipe in if you’ve noticed other champs which do not drop a box, and Ill add them in.

- Sureshot Seamus (CM1/3)
- General Zadorojny (SE3)
- Wraithlord Crusher/Hunter (Arah 3)

Couldn’t have said it better than OP.

Have successfully dodged warden 3 and beat him 5 times, but 4/5 on the lane means I don’t get the achieve. Frustrating. I like the fight a lot, but you should get the achieve if your pad succeeds, not entire chain. I understand the succeeding part is to stop people from just dodging around to get achieve, but your pad should be enough.

These events need queues or instances!

Like Teq, these fights are really fun and I like that they are hard and require coordination.

But also like Teq, these events are only completable by highly organized groups, groups which can’t get together because of no control over OFs. Not only that, but having to sit in a zone for 1-2 hours just to get in a good group is absurd. Moreover, the only way to even know when things spawn is other people in mat chat telling you or an external timer.

These fights are great but getting groups together for them is hell! Why is the onus all on the players to organize themselves? Please give us queues, some kind of large ‘looking for group’ mechanism that puts us into parties, or (best!) make it an instance that can be queued up for. Please, please I want to do the content but you waste so much of my time waiting for it and trying desperately to get into a group for it.

I am not in a huge guild, don’t want to be and shouldn’t have to be.

It’s only worth it for high level fractals infusions, period. Even divinity runes aren’t 20g/per, and very few skins are 20g/ per piece. It would only be worth if both pieces were expensive (like divinity runes on t3 or something), otherwise just buy a BL salvage kit and rebuy the skin or paste over the runes. This will not help with the problem of recovering upgrades.

Sorry if this question has answer somewhere, but I couldn’t find it.

Does Mender’s Purity (Inspiration IV trait – reads: “remove a condition when you heal”) work with any healing?

Specifically:
Does it work when an ally heals you?
Does it work with Restorative Illusions (XII in Inspiration)?

I have been relying on null field for condi removal but I find the meta for wvw so many conditions I’d like to update my build to have some more condi removal. I usually run a phantasm build. I know this won’t help much for zerging, since our clones and phantasms all die immediately, but for small fights has anyone tried to maximize the utility of Mender’s Purity?

I agree with much of what has been said. It’s not that dislike scarlet per se, she’s just so boring… I roll my eyes and click ‘skip’ at every cut scene.

A “living story” is one which uses elements and enemies already present and has them evolve. Why don’t the centaurs ever move their battle lines, or the sons of Svanir ever try some new ritual to give their god/dragon the upper hand? You already had TONS of material for great living story that would feel like it had an actual impact on the world and the problems it had already. For example using a character people knew – Lord Farin – was probably one of the few (very, very few) enjoyable moments in the LS so far. Scarlet doesn’t feel like she was part of the world which evolved, she feels like she was slapped on top of an already established world and story.

Teq needs to be instanced

I think bringing back the daily was an attempt to get pugs all together again, which unfortunately didn’t work. Of course, you can get the daily even though teq fails (I am standing in the corner in sparkfly fen as I type), but actually bringing back the daily made me realize how bad this event needs a feature to help people get organized.

I know anet seems to have a thing against instanced raids (too WoW-like? too elitist?) but Teq is even more elitist than an instanced raid right now, since you need to be “in the know” to get a good group/guild. If not an instance some kind of better LFG or queue function is desperately needed.
