This entire thread is about people complaining about builds and not coming up with ways to adapt to the new nerfs.

They used to be the strongest 1v1 class with the highest skillcap in the whole game, now they are a joke, the damage got cut in half and every single build i created since beta got destroyed. Im Sick of comments like yours. This class is just a mess. I played alot since patch it became almost unplayable. And dont dare to tell me some l2p crap.

And before you dare to tell anything about HgH crapbuilds with nades, they are a joke compared what other classes have and only noobs get farmed by those.

He does, and believe me, there are few people who can beat him.

We both play a bunkery-type and when you put us together it takes 10+ to even start to take us down most times because of the proper healing turret and water field usage.

Maybe you should be more open minded.

I have another friend who does a more condition build who is just about the only engineer who has beaten my bunker ele staff build yet. his play style is impressive as well.

There is also a glassy grenadier Engie fromt he guild solo who plays VERY well for having such low HP.

In this case, I do have to say maybe you need to change your build and make it more tailored to your own playstyle.

i fight a lot of different classes and play many and try to keep a very objective outlook.

Engineer class is one of the harder ones to build and play because it’s interesting no cooldown swapping and kit utilities. It needs a certain type of player and sometimes a person will never be good at it given their personal play style..

I know Engineer would not be a class I would be good at even if I practiced daily for a very long time.

I think ranger and engineers are by far the best small man roamers when player correctly.

This comes from having some friends with builds and skill that would make your toes curl if you ever had to fight them solo.

Necros are much better in large scale battles.

Mesmers are fine. My Confusion build still kills, it just takes literally one to two seconds longer to kill people in a 1v1 situation, and instead of a few Mesmers killing a Zerg, now it takes up to six to kill the Zerg.

I can not comment on the Elementalist because it is one of the few classes I havn’t played.

Thieves have a new toy to play with that is actually fun, and counters bunker/boon builds rather well, but loses to other builds just like a pecking order should. I switched to this new build on my Thief, and I am enjoying it.

All in all the top three classes seem to have remained, well at least for the good players who actually know how to play them. I play two of the three, the Thief, and the Mesmer and I’m having fun on them, and still feel the power.

However the best thing to happen this patch was breaking up the Zerg for now, until they get smart enough to counter Arrow Carts with long ranged siege, and counter siege tactics. Until then the zerg will just bellyache because they now have to use better tactics.

Yay for the arrow cart.

Elementalist lost use of utilities and heal in mist form and got a very large nerf to our condition removal.

I used to be able to get up to 4 conditions every 5 seconds off, but now it is down to 1 every 5 seconds with internal cooldown on condition removal on regen.

Very sad, but I still do very well for myself.

Still a s tanky as ever.

I don’t think all the nerfs are as game breaking as players think they are.

I have had some mesmers I know literally quit over a build that isn’t even the best build to be playing as a mesmer.

Also, I don’t se the problem. Instead of doing 8k damage on high confusion stacks, you only do 4k, it’s not that horrible and I, having played mesmer before as well, think it might be necessary with allt he utility mesmers are able to pull out.

I think this doesn’t leave mesmers without a build, I think arenanet wanted high confusion mesmers to actually have to stack Condition damage to get the effect of high dps. This removes the “Being a tanky aoe with high DPS and killer utility skills” problem out of the game.

With every class they try to take something away if you want to be the best in one area. I think they do a pretty good job.

If you want to be a bunker in something, chances are you are going to do low damage.

It’s how arenanet is looking to balance the classes.

I know I shouldn’t have expected this, but why can’t we trade badges for ascended items yet?

I know I probably seem entitled, but I personally hate fractals, and refuse to do them. I also don’t really enjoy dungeons. I know a lot of people who are the same way, and WvW most of the time instead of run fractals/dungeons. I feel like those people are treated much worse than PvE players.

There are currently only three ways to obtain ascended rings in the game: drops from fractals, pristine fractal relics, and laurels. Meaning that two out of the three ways are only obtainable through PvE. Laurels, as well, while obtainable in WvW, often require you to do PvE.

It takes 10 days of fractals to be assured one ascended ring. It takes 35+ days of WvW to be assured one, and we would like to be just as competitive as PvE players.

Are WvW players time earned in badges not as valuable as time earned in fractal relics or dungeon tokens? On a good day, I can get maybe one stack of badges (and that’s probably 8 hours of work). With that, I can get 1-2 exotic pieces, and I have the pleasure of losing 1 gold per item. If I was running CoF, I could do 3 paths in less than 1/2 hour, gain 180 tokens, get an exotic piece from it, and MAKE 2-3 gold.

One hour of PvE and one hour of WvW should reward you the same amount. Stop treating WvW players less than PvE players.

You only make 250 badges in 8 hours?

P.S. That dodge you did in game while you were busy sieging, was on a reset night when the score had no impact on the final result even. Aiden even laughed at you for that.

I was getting to know one our our newer commanders, Highlandrias and if you really think you are important enough for me to drop everything during a siege and come fight you, you kind of have a bigger ego than I thought.

SF you were understimated and you showed us why, Despite all the trash talk from NSP/SF/HoD this matchup was really good.

It proved what i had already know in my heart, that despite everything NSP will keep fighting.

Predictions wise: I think SF wont make it past BP (unless something happens to BP in the meantime) those guys were alot of fun to play, always respected their side. I can forsee SF doing same to AR as they did to HoD, maybe not to the same extent though.

Looks like (atm) SF is here to stay for another week?

I really hope HoD turmoil gets sorted out while in T8 and to face them again in t7.

I kinda want to see how GoM would fare, but tbh, based on the scores from the first week they went down, and the patch next week (assuming that SAB excuse is legit). Yeah … I’m guessing they would fare worse than HoD currently is. Entirely admit I could be wrong though, I mean hey, t7 kept thinking they were going to push us back down into t8. so *shrug.

GOM has a deceptively large presence. But they get distracted by new PVE shinies. The super mario box thing is what made them drop tier and do poorly the first week, it seems they are back in full swing now.

SAB takes 10-15minutes to farm. If you farm for one weapon that’s about 2 hours, maybe 3 per weapon. Assuming you have 8 alts which can carry 2 of these SAB weapons each, that’S 32 hours. Say you play around 4 hours a day, that’s about 8 days of SAB. I sure as hell am curious as to why the majority of GoM spent weeks in SAB? Also, SAB was available on all servers. I know a lot of people on SF that mostly only did SAB the first week it came out, it still didnt affect our WvW score by that much of a margin. I think it’s an easy excuse to explain poor performance.

It wasn’t an excuse just an observation. Why would I make excused for a server I’ve never played on? :S GOM for weeks and weeks had more population then NSP or HOD they did great on the scoreboard and I think had more wins then either NSP/HOD in the matchup(could be wrong).

In the last 2 weeks of our match HOD got a ton more numbers then usual from pve converts and pull off wins. When SAB came out, GOM just dropped off the map. It could be from that, or losing fair weathers from HOD’s new dominance. I don’t know for sure.

It does seem to be that they found their numbers again, regardless of not doing well in the first t8 week. Again, it could be fairweathers coming back, or it could be GOM gotten bored of SAB.

No, HOD got transfers because of the free transfer thing.

Now that they are up against an even bigger transfer server, they don’t want to come out and fight. They will either wait fro SF to go up or them to go down before they show their numbers again.

Also, GoM seemed to be having internal trouble to begin with, and I can’t imagine it any better now that Ronny is there.

That guardian of yours is a little slow on the not getting dodged all the time thing though. You might want to show him a thing or two about not using binding blade right off the bat. Just a friendly suggestion.

I am specced to heal and regen and burst heal and remove mass conditions from as many people as possible. If I wanted to run away I would spec more like your ele and go dagger dagger like the rest of them.

It’s a shame that you are only proud of about 20% of your daily gameplay then. That’s a lot of 1v5s every day…

Just wanted to send a shoutout to NSP and HoD, it has been an interesting matchup. Went stale unfortunately pretty fast, also not sure what exactly is going on with HoD but the lack of effort and/or participation is fairly evident.

Props to both servers for making it seem like SF are the “good guys”, I feel as though we should send you both to some Dr. Phil sessions….Also we can safely say that those “legendary T7 small roaming groups” loosely translate into: “we think 3-5 v 1-2 is better than 20v5” (ironyyyyyyyyyyy).

In all seriousness, this has been awfulllllllllllllllllllll, and I do mean aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwfulllllllllllll….Only interesting thing as been the new tactics that come with each tier, the truly good players you guys do really have, and backcapping stuff that NSP euro kids have been day capping.

I run in zergs.
I run solo and win 1vx fights. I lose in them too! omygosh
I jump in and fight 10 enemies with only 1 other person with me.
I run from people sometimes.
I stand on towers and taunt.
I gank.
I run with small groups who take on huge groups of less coordinated players and win.
I run with small groups who take on other small groups and sometimes win sometimes lose sometimes run sometimes end up chasing..
I run into towers when I’m low hp if one is near..
I pvdoor.
Now I even pve an hour or two a day!
I party with enemy servers and have duels.
I party with enemy servers and talk smack.
I sit spam ppl for lulz.

I probably missed some fun activities in that list.. But lets quit kittening and get back to posting awesome wvw vids pls. kitten I wish my PC wasn’t a POS or I would make my own.

So I have an honest question. Are there two different [KING] guilds ? We had a PAXA vs a [KING] 6 man fight at the north camp on one of the borderlands that lasted about 3 minutes that was really fun. Those guys had their heads in the right place. I watch this video and see a thousand golems pvdoorin… I’m assuming it’s not the same guys?

There is a possibility that the guild doesn’t define how good it’s individual players play in small man groups even if they zerg and PVdoor.

Hell ill admit it…ur way to bunker for me to take down solo….or at least without going to the dark side and using p/d (which is a cheap, carebear way to play thief imo).

Also in all honestly tobleh you are actually the most talented staff ele I’ve ever seen and the only one I hesitate to attack (normally staff eles die before they even see what hit them in my experience). And I do agree with you that you definitely are built to rock zergs and support your sheepole excellently.

However, in my defense I am also built for a certain style of play: messing up the back fields of small man fights and pretty much hunting other thieves so my mates survive long enough to finish the fight. Really my main job is to finish targets and make sure the shadows are clear long enough for us to gang up on tough targets like urself. Works pretty well!

I agree with not going the cheap road. It’s why I stopped alting Dagger Dagger Ele. That build was new and exciting when I came out with it off of my healing build, now everyone runs a bunker dagger dagger, poorly at that. The times when people went “WOW that is amazing! I need your build!” have become “Wow, cookie cutter. way to play an op spec.”

So now I am the last staff ele. I love it and make it my own.

I respect you for doing what you love and not carebearing it up with a cookie cutter. Ride on. (but still, watch out for that earth spell. It’s my kill shot. ;P)

It’s also silly that “Zergers” like myself can’t possibly be good at anything but pressing 1, even when they prove otherwise. Love me some roaming and especially 1v1s or 1v2s. Those are my favorite.
