NSP has a community. Albeit new and still forming, our biggest problem is the free server transfers.
We lose by 1k points one week and lost pretty much half the server that friday night. We went from having a que and a competetive game to outmanned buffs and no night capping teams at all.
Although we will still have fun and work on competing, I’m sure none of you expect us, organized or not, to win with such low numbers recently.
Which is fine because after this server transfer palooza thing is over with, balance can be restores and we can float into our rightful tier. so far, this is how the server has gone based on population and the changing of large zerg guilds.
Release: Ascension owns the maps for a good 2 weeks, 6 hours ques.
3rd week: the 1000+ people in the Ascension alliance leave. No que times, lose horribly for a while.
4-6th weeks: Forming the hope allaince, start winning again and start having que times again 30mins-1hr que.
6th week: Lose by 1k points, MANY people leave for some reason, not sure why.
This week and last week: Lost by not so bad, but still no que times, outmanned buffs, and no night capping teams. VIP Leaves (I called it Hollywood ;P) So we have even less people.
Now is not really the time to start rebuilding. We are still gathering number sin the alliance, but with the free transfers, people have no true server loyalty. The only 3 larger guilds that have stuck with the NSP server being a rollercoaster ride of crazy fun have been Os, FINE and TBH. It says something about these guilds and our belief that this is all temporary until Arenanet can restore some stability by getting rid of the free transfers.
Stability will not happen until then. We simply can not build up a population if they level here in our wvw, and then leave the day we lose in a really fun and fair fight. I can pretty much assuredly say that NSP will be losing until the day Free transfers close and people are forced to quit hopping around servers at a whim.
I hope this happens soon because there are some great things going on in the Hope alliance right now!
It was a fun week!
We are still getting our groupings together. the site is almost up and we are gaining more and more WVW support. We have often had the outmanned buff recently showing many members have left the server, but this makes room for more groups of organized guilds in the battlegrounds.
I am excited for next weeks match ups!
Great week all!
Arrow carts are clearly the most overpowered class and should be nerved immediatly.
Are you a thief too?
GASP
I was refreshed for a moment and then I realized The original poster was just an idiot.
Oh wait, that’s what usually happens.
I am curious, why does NSP when they have nothing at all usually in EhmBay’s battleground always take one supply camp, and constantly attack it. They die they lose they run back again and again and again, yet constantly dying. Not complaining I am just curious.
Hey there,
Member of [War] from NSP here. Our guild’s been jumping into EB Borderlands, I think because it is neglected. In my experience there in the evenings/nights (EST), we always have the outmanned buff, and I don’t remember seeing any VIP, Os, etc activity there.
Last night however, we had a very strong push with support of [HERO], [TFO], and others. [FINE] has been particularly helpful in that borderlands with us at around those times, but in that borderlands, we seem outnumbered at those times. It seems pugs seem to avoid that BL too.
I also want to give a shot out to [RE] from DH I think it was. They gave us a run for our money if memory serves correct!
Fine is good at keeping the borderlands helped. TFO is also skipping around and helping out where they can.
VIP can not be counted on to defend where needed. They are not a part of the alliance so they don’t have a particular place they try to keep.
Os guild is usually heading up in Eternal Battlegrounds. We try our best to keep things in order there, which is why you don’t see us in the borderlands too much. we have been overflowing occasionally into Darkhaven, but as far as Ehmry bay goes, probably not gonna be seeing a lot of us there.
I’m glad to see all the borderlands guilds working together! <3
Makes me really happy to be pushing back this week. We have a bit more support on the borderlands this time!
Things will get better!
oh c’mon…tried 1v1ing a thief from NSP guild [STAR] and he just stood by the sentry the entire time and wouldn’t come fight me 1v1 even with 2 orbs… :\
I know of a few thieves from Os that will give you a run for your money
We are having fun in this matchup
HO, I LOVE YOU AND I WANT TO RUN YOU FOR MONEY.
Lo Lo Imma miss you this week. you better play with me when Oc leave or I’ll kill you!
This argument is null. The original poster was inexperienced and talking about arrow carts. he thinks 50% of WVW is rangers when what he is experiencing is someone putting an arrow cart behind the gate. The aoes look exactly like arrow rain.
The original poster is confused.
What they really need to implement is paid transfers. People aren;t going to be hopping to and fro so easily when it costs 25 bucks to move. And even if they do it wont be in such bulk so that people just jump from day to day. It should also be a 2 week cooldown in order to keep it from server jumping due to who is winning and who is not.
There should also be caps so that things quit getting so imbalanced. NSP has been on such a crazy roller coaster. First our server was full, then medium pop, then low pop, then medium pop again. I hope they fix the transferring problem soon because there are too many fickle people who leave if we lose for one week.
@ Actium
ACTUALLY, we lost a massive amount of people recently. 12 am last night we were calling and calling to keep our keep in EB borderlands for about 30 minutes as the 30 dark havens broke slowly into the 15 people that we could muster.
I’ve noticed a steep drop since last week.
Especially during prime-time. No ques anymore, we had ques last week, albeit short, but at least they were there.
We broke into Etheron to find this little surprise from Dark Haven. Quite the effort. This army eventually became 10 Alphas and 3 Omegas that stormed our garrison. I’d like to complain about it but having 50 guilded players pouring the same resources into this strategy is the way to break conventional defense.
I’m just surprised that Dark Haven is somehow in our bracket despite having only 10% pugs in our borderland on Friday.
Well , the reason we can not move up in ranking is server population , we have one two guilds that go to one battleground , and pop cap it . Then we dont have any other battleground pop capped. Bottom line darkhaven does not have enough people to WvW at a high level.
Darkhaven doesn’t? That’s surprising. I find they have at least 50 dedicateds on each map at all times. (I map hope to check status of things)
Do you guys have no ques too? It’s kind of nice verses waiting, but it’s rough when you have all of 15 people defending.
D: Sad at low pop servers!
From my exp, VIP showed way more players from nsp than oS.
That’s because they have more players than Os in general.
Having a zerg doesn’t necessarily make you the best. The strategies they use are flawed and they do not work server-wide.
Also, VIP’s main source of recruiting is pming members of other guilds to try and recruit already veteran players. Thankfully Os players don’t fall for it and usually just put in in guild chat, but the amount of work Os does with 20 players verses the amount of work VIP does with 60 is comparable because of the teamwork we display with other guilds in our alliance.
At prime time we have tops 20 players on, but I find at at least 15 out of those 20 can take out 3-6 people in a zerg verses the normal pug usually taking out none or one in the time it takes. These people practice and give it their all, that being the reason VIP tries so hard to take our wonderful members.
I’m proud that I have guildmates that are so talented. Nothing against VIP members personally since most of them are just a mish mash of different unloyal factioned people, but VIP is a shady and unsavory guild to be a part of from what they do and say about our server.
They have no one to be a part of anything greater. Their loss.
:) <3 Os Guild.
I’m actually really disappointed in the NSP participation this week. Even during prime time, none of the borderlands have ques. I find the outmanned buff on decently often, and there is plain out not enough participation from high quality characters to warrant any sort of win this week. If we are going to be on par with servers like darkhaven, we have to have a larger participation. there was no que for Eternal battlegrounds on a saturday night at 11pm est this weekend. Many of the players I catch in Borderlands lately have been level 2 farmers. Other than the main guilds, TBH, TFO,FINE, OS and so on ,the amount of quality pug participation we get is lacking.
SO SIGN ON AND PLAY!
And not just play, play on your level 80 characters! That is our biggest problem at the moment, so get on!
GOGOGO!
VIP has a lot of people, but the VIP commanders make risky and iffy calls in the name of “Fun” which is fine if you want to be casual. Dominae^That guy, is one of the few very quiet commanders following Hollywood Fiend around, which yet again, is fine, but most of our commanders including myself do not condone many of his actions, including his battleground switching and his abandonment issues with Stonemist. The commanders this week that are most keeping it together, I would say is Samusen, Lianna especially and Snowglobe. I see Lianna on consistently and making some really great calls this week. I really attribute a lot of our win, if we win, to him. He’s a great commander!
THANK YOU TEV FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE FOR US EVEN WHEN I AM WORKING ALL THE TIIIMMMEEE!
Including elementalist.
You can stack over 15k damage aoe on a group of people. in no time flat.
Original poster, Almost every class can do around that much damage in similar time when specced as glass cannon.
It just depends how much defense you wish to give up.
I nominate Ocularis, Samusen, and Snogleeerrrdddbe OMAGERD, and Liana!!
By far they keep things together far more than others on the server. Phonervia, unofficial commander, and I really gotta give props to all our other alliance commanders for helping out the commanders I just named!
GO GO NSP!
That was fun, BTW. good to pass my class time away!
See you all tomorrow when you cry some more!
Also, I doubt even a single one of you have a fully geared level 80 thief that you play on as well as another.
If so, go ahead, prove it and still personally complain about it.
I’m sure the devs will be busy at work filling out your hurt feelings form over all these QQ threads.
Also, what kind of horrid servers are some of you debbie downers on? I find lots of NSP commanders to be helpful, Ocularis, Snowglobe, Lianna, Samusen, myself shortly. Often times, they coordinate and it is easy to call targets based on the position of the commander icons. You guys need better server leaders.
“With great power comes great responsibility”.
Ask yourself this, Would spiderman spend the 100g?
If you can answer this question, you probably need a girlfriend.
Live Long and Prosper.
/out
Spiderman would not in fact want Commander. He would like to retain a stealthy ability and make snide and witty remarks without having such a famous status (Being that we all know Peter Parker and fame add up to some very bad incidents)
I would love to have a girlfriend if my boyfriend were okay with it.
We could make out and talk about comic books all day long.
1. Dodge roll does not take 2 seconds and neither do most defensive moves.
2. We have 10k hp. you have double that. You hit us for 2k, we hit you for 4k, you do the math.
3. Pls stop cry and l2play this is just one of many threads crying about how hard thieves hit or how OP stealth is. Be real. I have a ranger as well, never had a problem killing thieves on it, even the fully geared ones. All my comrades, no problem killing thieves, especially the plate ones.
4. Anet is not going to nerf thieves based on a whole bunch of threads where people openly prove they either have a bad build to counter a certain thief build or they are simply not experienced enough to play their class and build correctly in order to beat a thief. Mind you, Anet also tests balance in Structured PVP, where theives are actually considered one of the weakest classes to play with aside from AOE hide and haste for rezzing.
Yes. In Spvp, thieves are considered Rezzers because people with experience who play their classes correctly can chew through 10k health and deal with the stealth just fine.
If you can’t, then you need to maybe try another class, or better yet, another game that doesn’t involve having forethought, strategy, and evades.
I am having fun in wuvwuv lately having dinged 80 (didnt want to try it out while leveling). It really surprised me when I noticed I cant see enemies names or their real clothing.. they all wear blue or green. All this presents some issues:
1Why bother dressing up my female asura as intimidating as possible if my enemies will see her with just regular red clothing? Why include things like transmutation stones then? Sure your friends can see you that way, but still… I just dont get it.
Why cant I see my enemies names? I might have found a former foe from a few games before when we crossed our paths and engaged in an epic battle, but I wouldn’t even know it was him if I ever bump into him again.
This combined with the single-color armour makes it feel like I am fighting regular NPCs instead of actual human beings.
I also thought, cant remember where I read it, that arenanet would give each world their own official forums as sort of their offline “base of opperations” I thought it would be wonderful and make it easier to plan strategies, or guild recruitment or barracks talk, or just get to know my world’s inhabitants better outside of the game, but still no sign of them… sure people are free to make unofficial forums but it wouldnt have the same impact or viewers as would official forums in this same site.
I like this game a LOT, but these 3 things really irk me… what are your thoughts?
Sorry for my english
They do the color thing because 1, you have to render that many more colors 2, it creates a sense for unity against a certain enemy, and 3, it allows you to tell what you are fighting at a glance without having to actually read Henge of Denravi Invader and so on. i still suggest dressing up your asura. Skins can still be seen and colors are always seen on your own team. My guild actually has a set of guild colors and people begin to associate with that on your team, also creating a larger sense of unity. Plus it is fun!
You don’t see enemies names so this doesn’t end up like other games where everyone trash talks everyone else. If you are so close to your former foe, you will most certainly recognize them or their play style/skins. (I can most times, and they can too!) I would rather not see their names, then have to come back to the forums full of: “TOBLE WHAT A HACKING kitten ONE SHOT AGIAN!?” Or “Slayerjerk123, you suck so bad lololol1!!!1!11!!” how clogged would our WvWvW forums be after that?
As for the base of operations, it isn’t very hard to create your own and I think Arenanet intended for alliances to be self-organized since there isn’t an official “Alliance” function in GW2. I’m sure Henge has one, I know NSP has one getting up and running soon and I am sure many others have forums either up or in the works. It’s something you should take up with your alliance. Plus, think on it; if it was moderated by Anet staff, how do they know that other teams don’t just make a noob account on your server to listen in on your personal strategies. They don’t. You, moderating your own, could have a more classified section for commander chat and so on and will be able to personally watch who knows what, making things a lot less difficult in the long run.
Seriously, we are in no way working with SoR (No offense guys). We may occasionally push Yak’s as a strategy to cull forces, but overall, we do not take sides. We most certainly do not, and will not make organized pacts. Playing like that ruins it for everyone.
Don’t worry, SoR DIES NEXT! MUAHAHAHHA!
:) So fun!
The thing is, you have to actually know battle strategies. It also probably wont be as effective as if you were a part of your respective alliance. I find guildless, non-alliance bound commanders to be a little less than useless, but a little more than annoying if they take their symbol and lead people away from where they need to be at other commanders. So consider finding a guild as part of your alliance on your server first. Or start one.
Also, most people do not troll you if you act with dignity and make fair calls, if you don’t, you are likely to gain a bad reputation for the rest of your in game life.
This is true for the most part. Another problem is however is you will indeed encounter trolls, you have to learn to ignore them. If you are good the people who matter will follow you. The worst thing about WvW I find as a commander, is that times you will find people who do not listen, and contradict you because they are zerg fanatics.
I would say get it if your server is lacking them. If you find a commander already leading in you BG however follow them dont split your forces. Or kindly move to another BG that does not have one.
On the troll matter though I was not good at ignoring them last night, we went from total map control. By the time I was sick of the troll in my BG and left. We lost almost all of the map. So in turn just ignore them or even block the bad ones.
It’s a little different in Northern Shiverpeaks. We are growing a pretty strong sense of community and my guild is known on the EB map specifically and is widely known to help and have good strategy. There are only 1 or 2 trolls usually and 1 of them is already in my pocket. (Pocket trolls can be useful)
The only severe problem is having unallied commanders in large zerg guilds who feel like doing whatever they want because it is “Funner” (I know that isn’t a word)
The only thing you can do is work to gain higher respect than them if it is a cooperation issue.
You have to work hard and have a personality as well. I find the best commanders are the ones who can laugh, lead, and take responsibility even when things don’t go right.
:) Hope this all helps!
As an update, I have not received any screen shots or videos of the hackers, preferably showing their guild tags. If you wish to help resolve the hacker problem, please not only send the screen shot in as a report, but also send it to me in a private message or put it here for the Hope alliance can have a better chance at dealing with these individuals.
Thank you!
As a member of Os Guild and a member of the HOPE alliance, I can sincerely say that our major and organized guilds have nothing to do with a single hacker.
We pride ourselves on having a good fight and winning fairly. Most of us have been waiting for weeks to get a good match up and have no interest in winning via hacking. Many of us are just joyful to have similar teams to fight.
Please feel free to send me all screen shots and videos of those accused of hacking and we as a large body on our server will try our best to take care of it.
Also, you know you are ready to become commander when people start asking you when you are getting commander and/or suggest you should be a commander on a regular basis because of your leadership skills in WvWvW.

While I agree stealth is OP in its current implementation, the worst part about stealth is player culling. I often get thieves attacking me while invis for several seconds before they actually appear on screen and by the time they appear they just stealth again. Player culling is destroying this game.
Dude. That is not our faults though. What is with all you people sitting there talking about taking away stealth due to current rendering issues?
GET OVER IT.
When it is fixed you will be crying just as much about stealth still because you simply can’t handle adapting to a class that is invisible.
When I have the rendering issues as a thief fighting other thieves who are invisible for entire fights, I STILL KILL THEM.
Why? Because I notice movement and the moves they use. Try looking at your combat log once in a while. If I can do it at 10k health getting half shot/ one shot by other thieves that I can’t see either, so can you.
Other people ALSO DO THIS. I see it every day.
I must admit the quality of people I play with is higher than that of a first time gamer, but the only time we ever complain about the rendering issue is when it is a whole HORDE of invisible people, to which you can’t defend against if you unknowingly run into the midst of them. Even then sometimes the invisible horde is killed due to massive amounts of random aoes and tab targeting at it’s best.
As for one on one and small group? Not a problem. Learn to play aggressively enough and you will learn how all classes move depending on whether they are good or bad and depending on their build.
I say once again. l2play.
Good job N S P
We need to beat yaks bend
Will catch up today
I’m proud of you dude.
I love the server match ups.
Hope this never ends!
I didn’t mention anything about punishing, I only said it was problematic and gave an example of it.
You are reading something that isn’t there mate.
You are in a thread called Stealth is bad, not rendering issues are bad. I read just fine.
Fair enough, just don’t put words in my mouth next time.
I have no more words for you.
Good. No one wants to hear people whining about thieves all the time because people can’t play their class right.
I didn’t mention anything about punishing, I only said it was problematic and gave an example of it.
You are reading something that isn’t there mate.

Screw the haiku stuff,
Kei supposed back me up!
Not friends anymore!
And the rendering issue is the thief profession’s fault, I got you.
I didn’t say that.
But you are implying they punish thieves permanently for an unrelated temporary issue that appears worse because we also have stealth.
Great job.
No one wants to play?
Well, I think haikus are fun.
Don’t you guys think so?
I will find you!
And I will kill you, I swear.
Liam Neeson rocks.
One got spotted and died, the others no clue, they poof’d while I was on.
That is close enough.
It’s five, seven, five most times.
but at least you tried!
What ended up happening with the FOO golem army last night? I didn’t stay around to see the results. Great battles last night!
Kozak from Yak’s
This is not haiku!
I wasn’t kidding man!
I WILL FIND YOU!
Damage should break stealth and any form of continuous damage should prevent stealth.
So you think that at 10k health, you should take away the only defense thieves have other than close range blind.
So that means that all guardian bubbles, mesmer bubbles, warrior regens, heals and knockbacks all have to go too.
Anet gave thieves stealth for a reason. We get one shot, that’s why. If stealth broke on damage, all anyone would have to do is Aoe or dot us and we would ALWAYS be out of stealth. it would be comepletely useless in any form of pvp. They already gave us the revealed debuff isn’t it enough?
Sop cry pls, l2play.
(edited by Toble.2968)
You should all reply
In proper Haiku format.
I WILL FIND YOU.
(edited by Toble.2968)
My dear World V. World.
What a fun game we play now!
No more Rofflestomp.
You AOE kitten.
Learn to predict movement like every other player has to.
Hell, if a thief stealths on me, I pop blossom and then dagger storm immediately.
If he is at full health, you RUN.
Its just like every other move in the game. You have counters, but if they are too difficult for you personally to pull off, then you go and cry on forums about a move that stealths a person you can most likely one shot for 3-6 seconds, even though you can still physically effect them with aoe damage and all other damage while they are still in stealth.
Learn to play.

Way to keep fighting until the head AR and FC, you had us pushed back bad last night, but most of us NA guys stayed up past 5AM to ensure we regained our footing in EB and didn’t lose SM. Anyways great fight, we could use more people with that type of dedication in NSP.
GG despite the score. AR definitely can’t match NSP over all 4 zones, but the 1-2 zones we fill have been back and forth and a ton of fun.
I think we’ve come a long way as a server this week; better communication, pub herders put in place (Commanders), and many special tactics learned.
I won’t be surprised if we bury whoever we’re up against next.
Forgive me, my linking isn’t working.
We didn’t really have a lot of people on by the end of the week, so it was a little tough. Even during prime time yesterday there were no map ques an Os had to change maps constantly to keep capping things.
I think because there is such a gap in points, people become untinterested if there is no competition, so keep forming up and for god’s sake, if you are in TFO or know them, tell them to quit zerging blinding and put up more defense. Also send scouting parties. We took down a keep through a wall without anyone even noticing on EB, which seems to be the TFO choice map.
Keep working on it or we will lose people!
I know I have been a bit bored in EB myself
Sam is Gandhi.
Only explanation.
Account bound tokens earned on my ranger can not be taken from my bank and placed on my thief, although the patch notes state they have been changed.
Wondering if this is a common or local issue.
Please help, thank you!

Samusen, I feel bad that I can not possibly ever articulate our feelings like you can.
You are one FINE guildmaster.
Yes indeed.
Sincerely from Os guild was well, we do not tolerate third party or any other hacking amongst our guild and allies. If this was not simply another A-net glitch, we assure you that the HOPE alliance had nothing to do with this individual behavior. We have no want or need to hack, we strive to organize and play fairly to achieve goals as a whole. That is what makes the game fun!
Hope this all gets settled!
We have good que times, a great community, an awesome set of guilds and an alliance. why would we want to leave? Just because you don’t like us because we picked up the pieces and built something doesn’t mean we have to hate that something and leave it.
Os guild has been on this server since the beginning and we have put up with the 6 hour ques and we have put up with having 15 people in WvW. We have seen much of the experience/karma buff because we had so little people. We never sat around and complained.
We did something about it, and we are very proud.
We have had many of our alliance members working night and day on building a community and the hate we see toward it is just sad. It’s not our fault that your server is still developing.
That would be like Myanmar hating China for developing faster and dominating more of the Asian economy for the time being.
We are working hard for success and we are gaining it.
Maybe consider putting together a community of your own and get WvW participation back up like we did.
