What i find odd is this…

NSP always butts it’s heads on fights between AR and BP. like if BP takes a tower from AR in AR BL.. NSP swings in to take the tower from BP… why? why not take the other tower from AR in the AR BL, while they are distracted engaging on BP?

We are constantly taking the battle to ARs map, do you really want BP attention to be focused on your map NSP? what good would come of it! we don’t want to feed on the underdogs!

This is a solo / small group warrior video. I spent almost the entire day messing around in Anvil Rock Borderlands earlier this week. For the earlier part of the day, I was a part of groups ranging from 1-3 members. At one point there were literally 2 BP players including myself in the zone. We were constantly outnumbered! But we persisted! Our camp takes helped keep our point total up, and AR’s down. Eventually we were able to flip some towers with some help; and at the end of the day, while commanding, we were able to take Hills and Garrison after wearing down AR all day.

A longer video than I’d like, but I had almost 3 hours of footage to comb through, so it was really hard narrowing alot of it down! (Not to mention all the fights I didn’t have the camera rolling… I remember one fight where I kept killing Kodiak over, and over, and over again since his zergies kept rezzing him!) I’ll probably try to make multiple shorter videos in the future

Honestly the larger the guild and the more presence in WvW you could say that about any of the large guilds. Dkz, Os, GOAT etc all have their fair share of either under leveled or under skilled players. Given the time to learn the class, and many many losses though, who is to say that some of these players can’t improve. Lemme guess Varconi, did someone get steamrolled by ALS? Just put a bandaid on it and it will eventually heal over time, the emotional scars will probably last a good deal longer. Lemme guess, you play either a thief or mesmer primarily …

Also, you can not make a fair prediction on whether someone is bad or good based on their guild.

I know PLENTY of under leveled under practiced people in Os. We have people who have just started playing in there on level 20s a lot of the time, but they work hard and many of them have plans for the future regarding being level 80 and fully geared and well-practiced. As for the fully leveled people, they have been noted on the forums by other servers for good fights, and that’s what really counts on a personal level for our members.

I’m sure the other large guilds have them too, but as far as the tactless hacks comment about ALS, I can openly say that I haven’t been impressed by any single person from that guild.

I get impressed by the amount of people they can field every night, but I am underwhelmed by many of their level 80 members and the tactics used in battle. this is not to say there aren’t good players with good tactics I haven’t met in zerg form yet, though. You don’t find too many ALS off on their own or in small groups, so it will always be hard to tell.

We have horabads and teranoobs trolling all day, then we dial it back and kill tons of people in PVP with some strict organization. We have events and stuff, ventrilo, been around 7 years or so. Fun fun.

Spatial skills, men have them.

And we do during videogames because we can and our brain knows we can, so we think about everything at once and not just the task at hand which isn’t always good on our part. Been playing games for about 12 years now. Still have to work on concentrating because I feel I should also be whispering someone or talking in vent or doing other things at the same time.

Well this match feels normal now…were back in last!

NSP gets elated by a good reset experience, and then we never capitalize on it. NSP defeats itself most of the time, and then seeks external blame for the failure. Some even deny the fact that they failed in the first place, which is never a good sign.

Mindless zergs, while useful at times, are NOT the solution to winning in WvW. A group of 15-20 moderately skilled coordinated players cane wipe zergs of 30+. There are videos of this on youtube to peruse at your own time. Even a group of NSP pugs ,with no VOIP, can turn into quite an effective force after an hour of two. It just requires patience and dedication, and if you lack both of those then you fail. There was a time when guilds on NSP actually spent the time to try to organize the pugs, sadly it is not done as much anymore, and the score reflects this.

We could go the route of Anvil Rock and form a giant guild (not an existing one) for as all to join for WvW. I would not recommend this route as I already know our WvW community has numerous personalities that fervently disagree with each other. Conversely, we could drop our precious little egos, and attempt to work together beyond just two or three small population guilds.

What Calleah really means here is that during the weekend we have numbers and then suddenly, most of our server has jobs and college during the week.

Has anyone ever considered that being a girl playing a videogame is so common place that it seems incredibly silly and self righteous for women to be making posts simply about how cool and rare it is to be a girl gamer kicking dude’s butts?

Am I wrong here? Or is it that the idea of equality is so undermined by the female psyche that females still feel the need to put themselves out there waving frivolously “I’m a female! I play videogames! I PVP! It makes me special!”

It’s a little unnerving to me, that’s all.

Women in videogames are no different than men. Other than the natural tendency for nuturing and support roles as well as lowered reaction time due to the females need to multi-task consistently, women are common place in videogames, all aspects and I don’t really think a fancy thread saying men stay out is going to do much good to those seeking attention for being a female in the digital environment.

For being part of a large alliance on my server that actually does work, you sure don’t know much about WvW if you think PAXA is a non-factor. You might as well go and say other small groups like AD/NEWL and so on are non-factors as well. Makes me sad that “members of the large alliance” on my server don’t know much about the game. I guess that’s what happens though when a guild/alliance mass invites people to form a zerg – you’re bound to get people that aren’t very good or don’t understand the multiple layers of WvW.

And by your logic, everyone also must know you’re a non-factor as well – seeing as how loud you are on the forums and how insignificant you are (doing fight clubs 2 nights in a row) in game.

Small gank groups and solos as a general rule contribute very little to the overall goal of WvW. Several smaller coordinated groups working together can be very effective and destructive. Breaking up a fight club cause you had someone telling you where it was, Not getting involved in said fight clubs(Cause you are all just so good), targeting the back ends of zergs for easy kills cause your good at hitting the same target(Golf Clap) Smashing solos.

Hmm seems to me that you cry when you are hit by 20 people , yet have no issue smashing a solo. Hypocrites the lot. Yea, non factor, non entity, irrelevant, whatever one you like, they all fit you.

Toble, we are respected by the people we respect. What more should we care about? All of the good players/guilds that we have come across, we have immediately given props to and continue to do so. Why should we respect you? Like Osif said, disrespect will earn you disrespect.

Alright guys, I give, when I was first approached by paxa and told I was a carebear after asking them kindly not to break up a fight club with Kaening, I was clearly disrespecting them first.

OS can always count on our 5 man being useless to OS. After all we don’t want to be used anyways. We will always be up for helping guilds and individuals we respect. But that is earned by character and skill, not the size of a “large alliance” on our server.

You do realize that there are very few organized guilds on NSP, right?

You also realize that the largest to be defending our BL was taking the day off, right?

A few people still went, but largely, Monday was a snooze button day for us. We literally came on, made our map red again, and then went off on our merry way and 2 hours later it was all taken again because we just don’t have the people to field.

I love how a server that runs through a borderland with 20+ people fighting 5+ people can be so confident.

It explains why you have such trouble with Borlis, they actually have similar numbers to you.

And the strategy you both take is brilliant.

Fight over the underpopped server’s things to gain points over each other.

Personally, I love it. It makes for good fights on the Os reset nights, since we are the guild that is assigned to NSP BL most times.

I didnt like what ALS did to our waypoints in NSP BL. that wasn’t cool
so i loaded up some people and had to mess and spend some time in AR BL & ALS.

AR (it wasn’t ALS alone) had no choice, NSP couldn’t do it themselves, despite being at bay inner for what was at least an hour.

We contacted our ALS comrades and they helped us out in our time of need!

It’s alright that BP foiled our well formulated plan at their keep the other night, we came out as the victors through our alliance with ALS.

2 Servers numbers Versus Brolis Pass and you couldnt even get Lowlands ? HOW come numbers is always geater than skill ? did we have numbers more than both of you ? You and NSP came in a wave after wave after wave we had a kitten ton of seige, 8 walls down in lowlands you kept coming and coming for five hours, the only reason why you MIGHT win this match.

at the end AR tried to zerg us from right. NSP from left, this wasnt just a normal double teaming. the pic explains .

Let me fix that for you. There we go.

During our assault of your keep in EB all I heard over teamspeak was our commander trying to find your crazy amount of arrow carts, ballista, etc. We had NSP hitting us in the back with seige. So it wasn’t a coordinated double team.

We also had small man groups taking supply camps/towers on our borderland and in EB. I was going around our side of EB protecting them from an NSP guild called [LOK] or [Loks]. Can’t remember if it had an s or not. Whom tried to ninja Durios and SM during the assault on your keep.

All in all though it was a great battle. Received many badges and repair bills but was worth the experience.

Not true, We were in constant communication with the ALS commanders and were coordinating as much as possible to take down that keep.

We have been planning this attack for weeks and it had finally come to a climax.

Curse you BP for foiling our ingenious plan to pool our resources in an organized manner.

ALS and the NSP alliances have been planning this for so long and thought we had this double teaming plan completely perfect.

How could you see through our veil and figure it out so easily?

@ BSP forum members who need a clue.

First off. You really shouldn’t come to the forums and complain about being double teamed. Especially if the entire design behind wvwvw, that’s 3 Ws, is a constant double team.

Second, if you know well that this tier can at best Q one map during non prime time, 2 during prime time. You shouldn’t make the strategic decision to take and hold SM in the one map that begs double team.

Third, don’t make statements that come across as the following; " When it happens to us its double teaming, when it happens to you its WvW." You come across as QQ cry babies , and that only invites, further double teaming.

Last but not least. If you haven’t figured it out by now. If you take and hold SM , we take all your other stuff. NSP has figured it out, why can’t you?

I’ve been told by the commanders of AR and NSP themselves at that time that this was an intentional double team. They contacted each other in the hopes of flipping our keep.

It was really obvious. For 4 hours, the two servers did not touch any of their lands. Not even an unupgraded Stonemist via trebs from Overlook. (How much does NSP loves Stonemist again?). They just focused us.

No commanders sat there and spoke to each other.

We saw bp was weak against AR in EB and pushed.

This is the same thing AR and BP do on our borderlands, often times at the same exact time.

If double teaming wasn’t meant to be a tactic to help balance things, then arenanet wouldn’t have made a 3 team wvw.

Personally, I don’t think it would add any extra dynamic that npcs do not.

Also, I have a feeling this would cause some coding/exploiting troubles.

People would be able to spawn a turret in a wall or something and then all goes to hell until 30 minutes is over.

I don’t think it is a very good idea to have automated guards more than we already have, personally.

I do like the picture though.

One has to wonder if Darkhaven would be a better server in our place in this matchup.
Because it was a close call between them and us to be in this tier back when we had our full nightcrew.
Now that we don’t, they could prove to be much stronger than us.

I must say, by far I like Borils much nicer than AR. The sportsmanship is fun, witty and jolly, while AR is full of angst and fuming hatred that is trying to be portrayed as funny.

I like GOAT, they are fun. I like them the most out of all the guilds we’ve been matched up with lately.

We didn’t take it. We opened it up, kept you busy, and NSP decided to play WvW just to take it. We like letting NSP have SM because we can only imagine the terrible withdrawal they go through without it… You can stop itching guys, you got your fix.

Here on anvil rock, we’re well aware we don’t have the man power to stop all those up-scaled BP from crawling around the walls 24/7 trying to get in, and we don’t like losing our bl over having that castle much like NSP does.

I just like clearing the walls really, pushing to take it was for fun. Good job defending, this time i believe it came down to the numbers.

I just want to give props to the OS thieves that I met in EB ealier, to the one with the leg., nice duel till 2 other anvil guys came up , and to the other thief that hunted me like half the map, I could only avoid and kite when I figured you were dealing a lot of damage, some ogres were quite helpful lol, anyway nice fights !

You opened it up? Are you trying to be funny? Does opening it up mean placing 5 rams for the inner gate and charging the lord. After the numerous times we wiped you, you kept coming back and place siege at the end of the lord room hallway and kept fighting for the castle.

The only reason NSP got it was because we finished dealing with you and they came from behind in full force and took us out.

But you’re right. You guys don’t normally go for castle. In all the time we had fun fighting for it, you could have secured ALL of NSP’s borderlands. I guess today was different right?

Underpopulated? Shortly after I took it I see a zerg of 40-50 NSP trying to take it back.

I didn’t know we had so many players in WvW. Are you sure it wasn’t 10 mesmers and 30 clones?

Other servers always exaggerate numbers.
Sitting Commanding and all of a sudden I get a report of 30 strong Anvil Zerg smashing into Anz.
We drop everything and rush their to try and defend it.

We finally get there and look around.
There are 10 up-lvl’ed Anvil Rock and 1 ram slowly tapping the gate with the nub inside going, “ERMAHGERD WE’RE GUNNA DIE”.
Makes everyone facepalm.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a 50man zerg in WvW ever.
But then again, I’ve only been to one reset and I run the night shift.

I have seen it, it was called Kaineng. But I have to agree that is the only time I can honestly say 50+.

I have personally had 42 people in my squad with 0 remote, seidr had 35 in hers both on the same map (a while ago) and she did a task then came to me and we acted as one for several stuff then split, that is minimum 77, u don’t think there’s probably 15 people that can’t figure out how to join a squad there? Easily 90 people at that time. On reset BURN has brought 70 people to one map and has worked as one army, I’ve done resets where 2 commanders both are pushing 40-45 with people scouting the map as well.

With culling an 80 person Army seems like 40, u cannot visually count or predict, squad numbers do not lie.

The map que is an undefined number, the number (confirmed by mike) is as much as the server can handle (will always be equal amongst all 3 servers)

I think you missed the point here.

Someone accused NSP of being able to get together 50 people in an organized manner.

We simply do not have this manpower. I have never seen manpower like that except on reset when about 25/50 is Os guild.

We understand culling and the like. We are just talking about the exaggeration given to our numbers.

We don’t really have ques at any given time and pugs don’t join squads unfortunately.

NSP has nothing to do with it as far as I know. We cleared out our Borderlands and we(Os) moved on to EB to take back our stuff, we(Os) also were the ones who dropped the 5 trebs to go against SM.

I apologize for Kalkz’s outburst. You are not spies as well as Anvil Rock. However, this individual is a long term Borlis Pass and was just trolling.

I still wonder how you weren’t able to get Stonemist when you guys were at inner and Anvil Rock was hitting our towers. It was tough for us but we pulled through.

Here is a picture of what I did to you for your little Stonemist attempt.

The servers reset and for some reason, pretty much all of our siege disappeared including the golems we had made for inner.

This has actually happened 3 times in the last week while we were on sm inner, 1 time when we had just broken down inner doors.

It’s getting old, this patching during pvp prime time thing.

Also, oooh, very scary, you can take a map from an underpopulated server.

We had no knowledge of this at all.

The SM attack was organized by Os Guild and we began our Tuesday night raid at 7pm, settling NSP, then moving onto EB at a regular time.

I can assure you that no attacks were organized and we on NSP server absolutely do not agree with or send out any spies or sabotage units. We could care less the overall score most times as long as it’s a nice and fun fight for our prime time players, which it is with this matchup.

I hope you reported the kitten out of that commander.

Is NSP still playin? We took over the entire ( except bay , we felt pity) NSP map today with like 15 people and seen about 3 NSP … Didn’t u guys get transfers ? It’s no fun if u just lay there and take it, at least give alittle struggle sheesh.

We got 2 guilds over the course of last week and lost 2 guilds over the course of last week..

We are technically at less numbers than ever, and yes int he mornings and daytime we have the outmanned buff because all of us have lives, unfortunately.

We don’t lay there and take it as a server, we just simply don’t field as many people as you do.

One day, when you go up against 2 servers that do have your similar numbers, you will be forced to improve yourselves.

Until then, you have us for a while and we will continue to kill the kitten out of you during prime time and take back our borderlands then, when we do have some extra manpower.

The immense ego some of the players on anvil rock have based on winning due to numbers is starting to bore me. Some anvil rock players are genuinely good, but many I have seen commenting on this forum (Plenty from ALS and many from VS) I find lacking in smaller situations and many times, like today at cliffside. You have been measured based on many levels, and your zerg tactics (Portal bombs) are quite lame and your members don’t individually live up to the proper way of portal bombing where you set it in a flanking region and spread out from there.

Why must we always compare measurements?

Just take it to PM and 1v1 each other instead of squabbling about who is better all the time?
