If you want a condition build you might want to replace ferocity with something that will benefit you more, like toughness or vitality. Bleeding damage is affected by condition damage so power is useless.
3. D/D and S/d also has the air aura, if you see it up stop hitting them, you will only get stunned, unless you have stability don’t hit them.
Follow these steps and you should be fine :P
Only dagger mainhand has access to shocking aura (air aura)
You lose the effect immediately
Yeah removing transfer costs was a really good idea. Ask any Gandaran who’s sitting in 2 hour queue every night.
2 hours if you’re lucky enough not to dc or for the queue system to bug out.
Which one do you like most? ^.^
3rd and 5th look amazing ! What armor are they using?
This is the build I use for small scale roaming
with WvW buffs you have 20k health 2.6k armor and 75% crit dmg so it’s great for surviving and dealing out pretty good damage
Edit: I run traveller runes instead of scholar now
Do daily world bosses and you can get about 150 per day.
http://us.gw2stuff.com/ – pick your server and you can see what bosses are up
WvW is also good if your server is doing well.
Use hammer #5, save shield #5 for when the thief uses shadow refuge, its always funny seeing a confused thief being knocked from stealth.
…should I just spin in place to keep it from landing on my back?
If all else fails this is probably your best bet.
If you wanted more condition damage I would go for undead runes, the 6th benefit works well with the Dire armor, other than that it looks like a pretty solid build
I’ve dueled an ele that ran a d/f condi build with perplex runes and used earth shield.
Still one of the weirdest yet effective builds I’ve come across.
So yeah its possible but outside a dueling situation, condi eles aren’t the best.
Great gameplay, mind sharing the build?
Got the sword for my mesmer, love it so far.
care to explain? kinda new to an ele
Well it just depends how you want to play ele (I’m going to be speaking from a WvW perspective here in terms of gameplay)
Staff: Easy access to perma swiftness while providing good aoe damage and group buffs, not so great in 1v1s
D/D or S/D: Less access to perma swiftness but still achievable, while tanking and dealing out good single target damage, not so great in large group fights.
so i know you can get perma swiftness on ele with a combo of skills but can i still do like a high damage build with perma swiftness?
Yeah you can if you have the right weapon set/gear and trait set up
I run a 0/30/0/20/20 sd build and use scholar runes for the starting burst in a fight, it usually hits pretty hard which usually forces them to use their heal and gives me the advantage.
I agree with most of these, but scepter auto attacks are far worse when compared to dagger.
so can i get perma swiftness without losing alot of dmg on the ele?
Perma swiftness is easier to achieve on engi, but an ele can get perma swiftness if you do the right rotations/skill combos etc.
We as a guild are looking for a lower tier server where we can hopefully have more fun instead of blobbing only. When looking at the server list I was astonished to find out it would cost me 1800 gems to transfer to a tier 7 server (Underworld) or 1000 gems for a tier 8 server.
If you want a pleasant and enjoyable WvW experience, I wouldn’t recommend moving to underworld.
A lot of servers (both EU and NA) will have queues on most maps once WvW season 2 starts, EoTM counters the queues that lasted up to 3 hours and gives people something enjoyable to do instead of being afk.
1st pic is my ranger(looks more like an assassin imo :P )
2nd is my thief

It sounds nice, rangers lack an elite skill that has a cd under 120 seconds so it would a nice change.
Given the details surrounding EotM are few and far between, I figured we could create a thread to aggregate the details everyone’s found thus far.
I know Anet will probably release their own blog post at some point, or lots of new stuff will be found during the Ready Up podcast tomorrow, but this might serve as a primer for people aiming to ask questions during the podcast tomorrow.
Afterlife Gaming was involved in the Public Beta test of EotM and they’ve written a decent overview on their blog.

What other details have people found on Reddit, Wiki, Dev Responses, etc…?
How big is the map comparative to say EB? And looking at the map screenshot it seems to be a bunch of floating islands…I can just see the luls of a hammer train using Banish xD
Are there any large open field spots where you will not have to worry about getting knocked off the edge? Or am I looking at the map wrong and you aren’t able to get knocked off in the 1st place?
I know the desert areas are quite large open flat spaces

Yep I’m probably just gonna avoid WvW for a couple days until it’s fixed.
I’m not saying Gandara is a holy server, I did say a few idiots use the signet and don’t listen. That isn’t the case with AM, a lot more necros exploit the signet compared to Gandara or GH.
unless necros are just conveniently running the signet which I highly doubt then there’s no way this wasn’t intentional.
Oh poor crydara…dont cry around, you(Gandara) use the signet as well….
You were in last place in terms of points before this and its the only reason you’re ticking high atm. Pretty much every commander on Gandara is discouraging the use of the signet because they don’t want to give the server a bad name, its just the few people that don’t listen that use it. Where as AM has organised blobs of necros intentionally using it, I know not everyone on AM is doing it, but a vast majority are.
It’s a shame that AM are taking advantage of this. The whole of eternal battlegrounds was wooden most of the day because people were in a mad frenzy of exploiting this bug, and we (Gandara) were even outnumbered for a few hours at prime time simply because people didn’t want to play because there was no point.
Ranger elites are great but I really wish we had an elite that doesn’t have a ridiculous cd (lowest is 120 secs) which is kinda silly.
It’s obvious that the mentioned nerf is about the secret of 100 blades.
Now everyone knows that dodge is super effective against 100 blades. Our GS has been nerfed to the ground and become useless.
I only ever see cheesy runner regen warriors use GS anymore.
I can’t tell if you’re trolling or not … these are tiny nerfs that wont affect and warrior that much.
Engineers and PU mesmers are my worst enemies, necros occasionally.
Looks like a good scouting build, but the trait Hard To Catch in unreliable and can screw you over sometimes, most people hate it.
Yeah I think if its highlighted blue it means its affected by your trait setup
Generally speaking elementalists have the fastest paced combat in the game (including engis which are equally as hard to play).
To play an ele and be effective you need to know the 25 skills you have in and out. How they can combo, basic rotations, when to play offensively/defensively etc. Apart from having a massive amount of skills to use, we also have the lowest health pool and most of our useful utility skills have long cd’s.
Without a doubt elementalist is harder to play than a standard greatsword warrior or stealth spamming thief and it is a tricky class to master.
In my opinion the cheesy GS runner regen build gives the warriors a bad name.
I know a lotta skilled warriors who play their class very well, but are underestimated due to the sheer number of warriors that use the previously mentioned build and just spam their greatsword auto attacks and don’t require any amount of skill to play.
