Sorry to disappoint but you have 5 trait points too many there.

Although you seem like an above average player, you still have a long way to go.

- More Shadow Shot usage.
- Learn to Head Shot interrupt heals/key spells
- If you are going to use S/D as a second weapon-set, learn HOW to use it and WHEN to use it.
- Drop Signet of Shadows before you engage in fights, there are better options.

Thief is fine.

A 18k hp thief playing without 30 critical strikes versus terrible players.

If you think about it, spiders are nature’s “assassins”. They use stealth, camouflage, poison, deadly quickness and precision, traps, you name it.

Dress your thief like a ninja in dark-ish dyes and wear Arachnophobia like a boss.

The problem lies within the players itself.

If the thread is in the sPvP section, wvw/pve has nothing to do with it and shouldn’t be brought up there.

On the other hand sometimes people ask the wrong question as in “whats a good d/d build for pvp?” when they actually mean wvw (which is still pvp if you dont pvd all day hue).

I agree with Harrier, since people can’t communicate properly there needs to be a way to separate.
Be it in a spvp sub-forum intended for classes, or even an actual “Forum Rule” that everyone has to comply with and is very simple: Tagging the thread.

Example:
[sPvP] Whats a good d/d build?;
[WvW] Whats a good d/d build?;

Coloxeus pls stop posting duels with 30 Shadow Arts cheese-D/P spec. Everyone knows its beast 1v1.

I wasn’t bragging but at least I have something to show for, even if i only play like 5 tournaments every 5 days. As he doubted my ability eventhough he doesn’t know me.

Son, highlights of successful openers and spamming 2 equals bad. The editing was also annoying with nothing impressive about it.

@Incurafy: Man you express my feelings so well I decided not to make a breakdown of the video.
@GaeZ: His interpretations are not “of the stupid” as you said. And are not interpretations, but facts. (even though what I think you mean is “point of view” instead of “interpretation”, you shouldn’t use words that you don’t know the meaning of)

You can hide the cursor with the recording program all you want, but we’ll still know you’re a clicker

Clicking, no actual display of skill, generic music, bad opponents, double signets, among other things like Kensei said: shadowshot > heartseeker as a gap closer (even does more damage if the target has some hp on them)

Basically what I get from this is that you’re another one of those thieves that couldn’t succeed but then found out about this “cheese-spec” (which is pretty much cruise-control to being successful in wvw ) and wrongly thought you were good material. Sorry but you couldn’t be further from the truth.
That said, its getting kinda boring/old about all these horrible thief videos coming along lately.

And not a single thief was seen that day.

yh i can see that but that was shot on the day of the reveal nerf so that messed up my timing alot so i was ajusting to the 4 secs rather than the 3 secs of reveal

Seriously? after everything I said (which wasn’t nearly everything as should have been said as the Macovan pointed out), what you take from it is THAT?
That’s not even a valid excuse you use blinding powders/thiefsteal with 1-2 secs into revealed.

I’m saying this in all honesty:

Bad.

- TOO ZOOMED IN.
- More attempts to stealth while revealed is up than I can count.
- You are either key-turning or using your foot to hold the mouse.
- Breaking stealth with a stab and stomping after = bad.
- Target running away = Short-bow or Sword main-hand. Swinging the Dagger in thin air wont do anything.
- Infamous Heartseeker spamming (even worse because targets are usually over 50%hp)
- Stomping a Mesmer’s downed illusion – WOW JUST WOW LOL.

There’s just too much badness in this video.
And for those who think it’s a “honest” video, think again. He shows only winning scenarios (those so-called highlights) apart from one where hes killed (after downing someone mind you!)

The opponents were bad and so is the OP.

Going maximum burst possible as you said won’t get you anywhere. Playing against players is not the same thing as playing against npc’s.

Also I’m pretty sure taking haste instead of signet of shadows = more damage.

The points you mention “Infinite initiative, CnD chaining, Stealth too strong can’t kill thief” are achieved with different builds.

So you are thinking of switching out the Short bow for a Sword, even though you never swap weapons? Personally I don’t see any thief build that shouldn’t have Short bow, it’s just too kitten good.

Also by playing warrior and mesmer you still should know that a WHITE CIRCLE doesn’t mean the thief is stealthed there, rather the contrary.

And like I said, wasted dodges. You should re-watch your own video because you excuse it being dodges trying to predict enemy movement when you are using them as movement itself.

I’ll have to say you should really improve in various aspects:

1. Awareness – Thief shadowsteps away from you and you attack the WHITE circle? Come on, thats a rabbit mistake.
2. Movement – You backpeddle too much.
3. Dodging – TOO MANY wasted dodges. Dodge is your lifeline, DO NOT use it for movement. It’s somewhat excusable IF you have swift/might on dodge and by having that you also have that extra dodge.
4. Shortbow – USE IT! Most of the time its better than the daggers themselves. Clusterbombing an obvious stealthed enemy is better than waving around your dagger or wasting precious initiative trying a luckshot CnD. Stealth for a surprise shot snare and then do a CnD→Steal→Stab combo or even Clusterbomb him. It pains me to see a thief Heartseeker out of stealth when there are better options.

There’s not much to say, unimpressive gameplay. Too much stealthing, no skillshot combos, no overplaying, oponents were god-awful.
