Each time you put in 4 rares/exotics into the Mystic Forge your chance at a precursor doubles. When you get a precursor it resets. Problem solved.

Agreed, same goes for dungeon loot and world bosses. it needs to be weighted RNG.

Why stop at AP? It’s annoying that every group I see has war, war, war, war. I have a war but I main on a thief and he is superior in most dungeons. However if I join a zerk group they sometimes kick me because of my class. I agree that a group needs balance but in most cases its player skill.

I would rather there is some form of player rating introduced that rates the group as a whole after the dungeon. It can’t be that hard to introduce a scoring system based on time in the dungeon and wipes etc.

I’m not sure how well this will go down but here we go.

I work away from home quite often and it bums me out that I miss out on playing GW2 while I’m away, particularly when I am working towards something, like at the moment I’m working on a legendary.

I was thinking how cool it would be to have a mobile app tied to players accounts where you could play mini games for rewards such as silver or matts. Crafting could even be done through it as well. That way people can play in some capacity when they can’t access a PC with the full client on.

Thoughts? Feelings?

have you ever thought about why it’s called a legendary weapon ??
Right, because it shouldn’t be available for everyone without luck.

BTW absolutely every precursor is available at the trade post.
Just go there and buy it.
And yes there is a lot gold involved but again, these are the most desired weapons in GW2.

What a terrible response. Potentially someone could logon for a weekend trial and get a precursor. There is nothing legendary about that. It should be earned through a series of drawn out challenges and quests so you are rewarded for time played not luck. It works for living story meta, why not precursor acquisition? I would rather my jaw drop because someone has spent the time and effort to do loads of hard challenges rather than flush rares or ectos into the mystic toilet or just have one drop.

This has been a hot topic for a long long time. Anet know something needs to be done about it, or rather something should be done about it. Some bits and pieces have even been data mined indicating an alternate method of acquisition.

They announced an alternate method due for release in 2013… we are now half way through 2014 and it’s still unconfirmed. It would be nice to at least get some kind of update. Fingers crossed for LS2.

I recommend that you create some alts (if you haven’t already). I have 5 characters and I like all of them, however I always have a soft spot for my main. The great thing about bouncing around characters and classes is that it allows you to see things from other perspectives and if you get bored of one character you can take a break from it.

There should be a better mechanism than add friend in general when running a pug group. I want to see if someone has a record of being a problem.

Guild members kicking pugs when they reach the boss to add in a guild member.

Starting a dungeon instance and quitting halfway through forcing a restart after an hours play.

It’s infuriating for all and there is no accountability for it.

I would also like to recommend people that have been out and out heros!

This is an issue that I hold very high in my list of gripes. I love making my toons look as cool as possible and my Charr warrior is my main. I have spent lots of gold on dyes and skins to get him looking as cool as possible but one thing is missing a helm…

The biggest issue is that everyone is wearing T3 cultural simply because its the best looking heavy armor. Its clear someone really worked hard to make it look nice and it shows. I would also like to give my congratulations to who ever designed the Gas Mask from the recent Toxic Tower story. It was designed well for all races and looked great. But I digress, there needs to be more choice and all armors should look equally as nice.

The dungeon skins look so awful in some cases that it begs the question how did this get passed quality control? Anet seem to take alot of pride in their game and the feel of the world so why release armors that don’t marry up with that policy?

Ascended armor is another great example. The helm looks super nice on all races except for Charr who have a crown? http://gw2.gameguyz.com/sites/default/files/images/20132211095329.jpg. For goodness sake, if stretching the skin doesn’t look right then make something more racially viable. I bet that there are loads of player out there that would do it for Anet for free just because they are invested in seeing their characters look cool.

Sorry to see this happening again and again. It’s an issue that the devs are aware of and looking to resolve. I rarely do pug runs for reasons such as these. There needs to be more liability to players behaving badly in groups.

Add my support to this thread. I agree with most of what’s been said. For a supposed tank class we aren’t that tanky and we suffer from a lack of escape tools and CC breaks. Going power isn’t as viable as it is on the majority of classes and the new heal is very poor.

Minipets in this game are overlooked massively. I don’t want to have to reload the little bugger from my inventory every map. Give us a slot on the hero screen that’s for mini pets so it auto loads the mini you have equipped. If they want to add in other features then great.

Totally agree with this thread and I’ve not spoken with anyone else in game who feels different. I think making the dyes account bound would encourage people to buy more of them to complete the set.

Dyes are purely cosmetic and don’t effect game balance.

I have bought many 20-50g dyes on my warrior and I’m now using my necro as my main, I’m cheesed off that I can’t apply these dyes on another character after spending such a large chunk of gold on them. I will certainly not be buying them again.

I disagree on dyes, Having bought a number of very rare dyes for 20-50g each I will not be re-buying them for my other characters. Dyes that are on TP for less than 1g won’t effect the market place as many of these dyes are given away or destroyed rather than listed on TP.

Making dyes soulbound is a bonkers decision, it’s a purely cosmetic item and doesn’t effect game balance. The devs should just do it already and give us a real Christmas present.

I hardly ever post on the forums but after a few days of play following the new patch, I would also like to voice my concerns.

Running a wvw condition necro with full vit and toughness armor I fail to see this ‘survivability’ element that the devs refer to. I’ve also run power and zerker builds with the same issue. This new heal skill (with nothing put in healing) was terrible and ticking 100 hp a second roughly. On my warrior I get 400 a second heal, now I understand that with the necro you regen 300 hp on each hit but in WVW that’s pretty useless when a standard hit can see me loosing 1000hp+ .

We have a serious mobility and stun break issue that seems to come passively for the likes of the warrior class. Saying that the Necro isn’t as kittenome people make out but we are in the weaker tier. Some have made some great suggestions to buff the weaker skills and I would really like Anet to sit up and take notice.

I actually agree with you that the drop rate is quite lame. Some people are getting them from WvW but I’ve not had the same luck. I got around 50 scraps in a week from just leveling my guardian and picking up the basket drops.

PVE: playing the thief every which way i can i only found one viable build. (where even in Exotics I wasn’t dieing to some op team of mobs in Orr)

The way it’s setup now is for sword pistol combos. I ignore using #2 and #4 abilities as they tend to be useless. I time between the traited quickness boon, the sigil of rage on my sword, and if both are down and I need a boost for larger beasts I use Haste. Everything tends to die very quickly with this build.

When needing to be ranged I switch to pistols with similar results. My second pistol (that replaces the sword when i switch) also has a sigil of rage on it for speed. If I have time before a battle I switch out two things for the pistols. I change Trickster to Ricochet and I change my Tripwire to Blinding Powder or Smoke Screen depending on the type of mobs I will be fighting.

It makes for smooth sailing now.

It however makes me sad that the other trait builds and weapon combos for this profession are not as harmonious or well thought out as this one is.

I agree with this to an extent. The thief lacks the versatility in PVE that other classes have just because the DPS isn’t as good as other classes like ele and warrior or we don’t have the survivability of a guardian unless we are constantly dodging or at range.

I get on quite well with my thief I run 0/30/20/20/0 but without stealth we are just a weak warrior. All I ever use stealth for in dungeons is ressing people or skipping something/running away.

- Poisons should become passive and moved to condition trait line
- Traps are kitten and I never use them in dungeons
- Someone made an excellent point that pistols don’t fire fast enough to stack bleeds and just don’t work well as a combo

I can’t speak for pvp.

Thief isn’t half as squishy as people make out, you just have to choose between massive DPS or more def/hp and most people go for DPS. Personally I get along fine. However when lvling at the start it was hard as hell.

Pistol/Pistol – The auto attack animation should have both pistols being fired alternately, limited to 1 skill, unload, needs a rethink.

Sword Pistol is fine! learn to use the other skills.

Short bow has underwhelming DPS.

Stealthing on steal doesn’t always work as you end up hitting the mob with the last attack you made. This should always make you stealth as it can ruin a combo. I never use steal for skills it’s for initiative and stealth or gap closer.

Has anyone beaten SE path1 since patch?
