The code has been checked its in the table from the chest from the event. IF the event was in a chain then i’m sure that whole event chain would be checked
Take this example : It DOES drop from shadow. BUT the event chain is ‘broken’ that means the last event is unable to start – THIS applies to any other chain which is a process of eventS (plural) so EITHER:
It IS part of a chain and only the final event was checked
It is part of a chain and the series was checked but an S was missed off event
It is a SINGLE event not part of a chain
I really can’t give out any hints or information, especially since anything I say is going to be intensely analyzed. So I’m going to play it safe and not comment on the size of the boss, the chest, or the rarity of the boss. I will confirm that I looked in the game data and traced the item to its loot table to the chest that uses the loot table to the event that spawns the chest to make sure everything is set up. I can also confirm that it has a very low drop rate, so running the event 5 times or 10 times proves nothing.

From what i’ve observed kill credit is the ratio of damage that you have done compared to everyone else;
i have already posted in the relevant forum sections about this. From what i have observed this is just ONE of many factors that determine loot (frequency and rarity)
But if i’ve solo’d a champ and not got loot then obviously the kill credit is ‘broken’.
OK so i am starting to solve my DR problems.
The thing that interests me is the vast difference in perception of loot drops. The devs response is : “working as intended”. As there is such a vast difference i’m thinking that there are several parameters linked to DR:
After lots of testing on a certain “run” These are the findings that i have PERCEIVED:
The higher the “credit” for the kill the more chance for greater than green
MF does affect loot more likely to get a blue/green or crafting mat (or trash instead of nothing)
exploration bonus seems to affect the frequency of loot but not quality (more testing needed on this as i believe it does affect quality but its very difficult to exclusively test exploration bonus)
Loot Drops SEEM to diminish after 15 min
Doing Two events SEEM to reset the above timer
You sent a support ticket because you didn’t like the drops? Way to waste supports time. Unless you think this is a game bug, but since there are threads here analyzing the drop rate, all you’re doing is wasting supports time. Maybe a bug report, but a support ticket?
What do you think support can do for you? Give you a rare?
That’s just misuse of customer support.
I’ve sent two tickets to support about drops
First was a ticket about DR that got a quick response
The second ticket was about the loot drop from champions and how they’ve (quote) “the drops from champions have increased” BUT after after soloing 5 (onlevel) champs the best item i had was a blue sword the other 2 drops were grey worthless and two champs dropped nothing. . . surprisingly i’ve had no response to this ticket.
Any other tickets i’ve sent in regarding bugs have had a speedy response

Think about this for a minute.
If you were locked out of doing the event for a week at a time, I could see them upping the drop rates on rares and exotics, but with the event resetting every couple hours it really doesn’t make sense.
There are lots of meta events with big chests – there are ~170 dragon events alone each week. If they all dropped rares and exotics for everyone we’d be vendoring them the way we do blues and greens now.
Maybe what we should be asking for is an event with a reaaaally long reset timer that drops better loot

WHEN you want rares/exotics where do you go? – Trash mobs
In most MMO’s risk = reward. Here, risk > reward…….a lot > reward. I was grinding in Queensdale today on my level 80 doing my daily, and I had 2 rares drop from trash mobs within 20 mins. What’s the incentive to blow consumables and repair money when I get better loot killing level 5 mobs? Something is WAY off balance.
Today: Had skritt (trash) drop 2 rares within half hour with only 20mf – after 2 deaths by the high wizard repair>reward thats why i’ve had to post- been on my mind for a looong time but that spatial surge was the one that broke the asurans back
And i CAN understand why they did that – because if there’s too high a chance then Everyone could get an exotic/rare – and thats the problem,
I personally believe that instead of each individual having xx chance of exotic/rares it should be:
The Boss ‘Knows’ how many players are nearby. The amount of Players determines the amount of Bands. A certain amount of rares/exotics are available from each band – no more/ no less.
The amount of players needed for each band could be linear or scaled.
For example Every 10 players creates a band.
OR 1-10players =Band; 11-30 = Band; 31-60players=Band
Every band has 1 exotic and 2 rares available – Once these have been received from the chest, they are no longer available BUT if they have not been received By the time the last player from that band loots then that player will receive the items.
Of course the numbers used for players per band and the amount/quality of drops are only used for example.
At least this way you have a GUARANTEED chance of a ‘good’ loot. Especially for the smaller groups. At the moment (because of the way the rng is worked out) there is more chance of an exotic to drop for a large group (that defeated the Boss) than a small group. If you have an individual xx chance of getting good loot, then it will take xx people for that good loot to be probable within the whole group.
Heres a very simple fix . . . . Multiply the coin recieved by 10 That would be a start – Heck even an increase of x5 would be good.
And Obviously uniques/precursors still have a 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of being a reward
Ok so 10 – 12 of us have just defeated the high risen wizard and the best loot from the LARGE Chest , in the whole group, was a RARE lvl 80 serker ring and a RARE med leg armour. The group wiped 3 times before that due to not having many people (and confusion/spat surge)
I feel the rewards do not justify the effort i have sent a ticket to support over this matter 10 days ago but no answer – and yet when i’ve sent support tickets in the past they’ve been answered within 48hrs. So is that a case of ‘selective listening’?
The meta event bosses are supposed to be big and nasty thats why they drop a large (special) chest – but its no good if there’s no useful shinies.
If the dynamic events are ‘aware’ of how many players are nearby then surely that same code can be used to determine rewards (Dungeon chests are even easier to fix).

SERIOUSLY? 30yrs gaming (a lot of it DMing P&P) and these loot tables are some of the worst i have ever seen. .
. . .*hey folks- lets not bother killing the lich lord, i just got a +5 holy avenger from killing that skeleton, BUT they decide, if that was the treasure from a lowlie skeleton, the lich lord must have treasures beyond belief. The battle is fierce and intense, consumables used, people injured, equipment damaged but the fight was won. Time to open the treasure Chest . . . only to find a +1dagger and 1 healing potion)
So if the rewards are not CONSISTENTLY good enough why have a large chest?

Thats nearly the same set up that i’ve been using for a long while.
Interesting use of purging flames > cast >focus#5 (blast =might) > weapon swap > Gs #4 (will give you 99% of the time retaliation AND flame aura) > Gs#2 (burning)
Your lvl 50 and bored?- try going to sparkfly fen, or mount maelstrom/fireheart rise.
Sure the game can start to feel stagnant at 50 with no new skills to unlock, But if Your bored try new things:
And simply yes it sounds like its pve your getting bored with – try some pvp/wvw human opponents provide variety
Dungeons can be fun (depending on group)
Or try a pve zone thats 5-10 lvls higher than you- that’s normally challenging
Still waiting for a response from Anet – A week old ticket submitted the bug that champions were not dropping loot when solo’d (soloing means its 100% kill credit – so should drop loot)

lol i put in a ticket aswell 2 days ago about the bug that causes no loot to drop from champions – as yet no reply (but all my other tickets got answered within 24 hrs)

Having an issue of getting GW2 to play any of my playlists. Have gone through the tutorial provided in this forum. Playlist was created via Windows media player and saved (.wpl) on another HD. I edited and saved ( to GW2 music folder) the correct lines of code to truly reflect Location of media files, which are located on the NAS. I open the default location of the playlist ( C:\User\ insert username\Document\Guild Wars 2\Music) and can double click on playlist and Windows media player can play it. Game however does not pick up on anything. Nothing plays.
Truly at a loss, any suggestions as to what to do would be helpful. Thank you in Advance.
Edit: Also tried to create playlist through Winamp (what a mess) and through VLC still nothing
Have you tried just saving it as a file in notepad and saving with the right extension?- and remember to get the pathname from your actual music file NOT the library
Check theres no # or ’ in any part of the path/file/song name
Copy and Paste an existing working skill and call it CHAOS mist form
When the original game gets out of beta, let me know… Then we can talk expansion.

superior sigil of stamina, offhand sigil of energy – with the dodges and phase retreat =:)
( but then phase retreat is my favourite skill in the whole game – so unpredictable)
runes of water/monk/sanctuary increase boon duration with the boons we get from cstorm and carmour . Not the most damage dealing but increases surviveability a lot.

A step in the right direction for most professions= now all we need is the hit/collision of flamethrower/blast to be fixed
lol – i’ve just realised how glass cannon i am with jormag – only 13k health, so 2 hits = downed . . . .BUT my kill credit must be good as yellow/greens from the mobs. IF they do change the loot rewards (more) then i will go back to a bit tankier- BUT if they dont then i think i will carry on with this spec for the drop rate.
THE trouble with this, is that, exotics can still be bought with gold -so the precursor becomes another gold grind and just gold – no skill needed and i’m not in favour of this. I believe a precursor should be less than a legendary (obviously) but more than uniques. To this extent i would like precursors to involve some SKILL to get (skill points, karma, badges, relics, dungeon tokens(even jumping puzzles- and i’m rubbish at them!)). . . . . anything to keep as much of a precursor away from the tp (which i believe is being manipulated by a select few)
berserkers in open world pve.(shout build, ah, pov)(gs, sword/focus) if i get tagged by a mob i puposefully aggro everything else within (1500-2000)- just to make it more interesting- the only single target farming i do is champs. Dodging and use of terrain (los) is so important to any profession
personally i think it depends a lot on personal playstyle with only 3 80’s (engi, mesmer n guard) i’m finding guard to be the best in orr.
Personally i think that both are as equally important damage and surviveability. (and ive replaced most of my clerics/shamans for berserker (relying more on the guard skills (and my skills) for surviveability and putting the numbers into damage and crit – for pve)
my belief is to survive first whilst doing max damage- but if having to survive means your damage output is seriously impaired then choosing support skills (non dps) would be more beneficial to the party (in fracts/dungeons)
So for open world pve i go berserkers and dungeon i go cleric/shaman support (allthough i have gone berserkers in dungeons depending on group)
WHAT is awesome is that guards have the choice and viability to do this
You laugh in the face of opposition – Then they are dead at your feet and you can happily carry on collecting mats. (You can even have time to /dance with the risen).
Out of my 3 80’s (engi, mesmer n guard) the guard can do a farming round far quicker and with way more kills than the other two proffs. (Clear the Pact field hospital of Risen is the event that i use as a benchmark (me vs (usually) 22 risen . . . . and i’m still standing:))
I’m glad (but also disapointed) that its not me having this issue.
The main reason i chose thief, was so that i had another lvl80 (have 3-engi, mesmer, guard), to farm t6 mats and from my experiences in orr, i believed thief would be a good profession to do this without having to have combat every step of the way.

Yes, Mystic Coins and Karma Jugs will still be given out for successful Dailies/Monthlies. The Laurels are an additional reward given out on top of those.

I must apologize for the tone of my post- too many bugs in last nights session- ended up on the forums, and so my annoyance showed.
HAVING a legendary DOES show your prowess. . .that youve got 100% map completion, done x dungeon y times for the tokens, and got lots of karma and skill points, and badges.
The mats can be bought so in my eyes are not a signs of prowess ( granted they cost lots/ take time to farm)
BUT i am sure there are people in the game that have EVERYTHING except the precursor, and because of this do not have a legendary, so they cannot show their prowess to the world because they did not have a RANDOM precursor drop.
The only thing that should be random is the clovers
EVEN putting 4 unique weapons in the forge does not guarantee a precursor
HOW DIFFICULT WOULD IT BE TO ADD A FEW RECIPES TO THE FORGE?
4 FIREBRINGERS= 1 ZAPEDIT: so there’s 20 known precursors so add 20 recipes to the forge- surely its not that difficult/complicated????
dumb idea to have a set mystic forge recipe for a precursor if you understand economics you would understand why and plus why would they want to do something like that when they want there legendaries to be hard to obtain and one fo the hard part is in fact getting the precursor. Kinda wish ppl would stop making threads about this or merge all the kittening and complaints into one.
sure legendaries should be hard to obtain. . . Have you seen the mats needed to make 4 firebringers?. . .(mystic forge – no recipe needed) . . . .4 eldritch scrolls (200 skill points) 120 mystic coins 1000 ori sword blades and 200 molten lodestone. .
I really dont understand what economics has to do with this. . . . this is a mmorg game that rewards players for hard work and time spent on the game. . . . . SO a precursor SHOULD NOT BE A RANDOM DROP (and especially not for the people that ONLY played on the free weekend.) . . . HOW is that HARD to obtain? – It’s CALLED LUCK

I have this issue too and it is certainly stealth related. It’s most irritating when you want to gather a resource only to notice you’re out of tools, and then you can’t replace them because you’re stuck in combat for no reason.
I think it’s great that Stealth doesn’t reset a mob instantly or it would be impossible to use in PvE but getting stuck in combat indefinitely is just as bad.
stealth should drop aggro – i think its wrong that the mobs reset so quick – the fact that some mob still have aggro means that stealth is broken.
cant run cos i’m still stuck in combat mode.

And that concern is this: I’m worried that this entire multi-month event is just setting the stage for the first expansion, and that we’ll have to buy the expansion to get the full story. GW1 managed to introduce entire post-campaign storylines of a fairly significant size and did it entirely for free, so I sure hope GW2 isn’t drumming up this multi-month event for additional drama when they announce the first expansion. That’d be awfully disappointing.

This is not a live storyline that requires you to purchase an expansion to discover the ending, no. This month is a small pre-cursor / lead-in to kick off a storyline that will play out over the coming months.

OK so i know that pets and conditions can keep you in combat mode even though all monsters are dead.
As a very low level thief i have no pets and no conditions on me when ive killed the monsters – SO WHY is my health not regenning and skills unchangeable (BECAUSE i’M IN COMBAT) . . . .BUT I’M NOT – i’ve killed the monsters ITS now six minutes since ive killed the monsters AND IM STILL IN COMBAT.
THIS only seems to happen if i’ve used a stealth skill –
This and how STUPIDLY QUICK the monsters regen health when they go back to their spawn spot (when pulled too far away) AND the INSANELY ILLOGICAL targeting system is making combat BIG CAT SILLY
EDIT: 15 minutes now nothings hit me but im still in combat and so have to log out to view the vista
i just wanted to see if the in combat status would drop- thats why i left it. If the in combat dropped after 20 minutes WHY wouldnt it drop after a few seconds?
Because of the frequency that this happens Thief is now at the top of (my) list for “broken” class (it was engineer).
THE ANSWER – to kill mobs or just move on is just plain silly. . . . . YES its a workaround but if peoples attitude is :“it happens – get over it”- THEN IT WILL NOT GET FIXED
The frequency and volume of specific bug reports determines the priority of the fix. . .
. . . . IF ITS NOT REPORTED BY PEOPLE AFFECTED BY IT (EVERY time it happens) THEN IT WILL NOT GET FIXED
ANET wants to sort out the bugs and balance issues- thats why they are devoting time and resorces to it – instead of new content

Guild wars 2 is ALMOST clone wars – sharing unique skills WILL make it clone wars. There is allready a portal gun that you can buy in pve. . . . so any profession has the ability to create a portal (in pve)
If portal is disrupting WvW then just cause damage to any ally using it (the zerg wont be so keen to use the portal if they arrive at 50% health). . . . .and if portal IS causing problems in WvW then surely the last thing to do is to give access to it for more professions

STEALTH according to the wiki:
Stealth skills are the second mechanic, with a distinct stealth skill for each main hand weapon. While in stealth, the skill in slot 1 is replaced by this skill; using it will break stealth. OBVIOUSLY the wiki is referring to skill#1 while stealthed but as stealth IS a thief mechanic then i agree that each weapon/weapon set should have the ability to stealth (either directly or through the use of combos (as dagger#5 or d/p #5#2))
