I think it comes down to 5 teams…. gf, apex, outplayed by children, pz, and team lonely….Everyone else will get stream rolled… gf got a free ride to final four bc they only play random teams… outplayed vs pz could go both ways, the winner will play and beat gf.. advancing to finals… lonely will fight apex in final 4 and idk who will win but they will both lose to pz or outplayed
I have no idea what you just said, but I think every game will be good.
I think it’s because of team stacking. After wining a game and realizing “Oh hey, I had three level 80’s and they had four level 10’s. Hmm.” Everyone is going to make sure they are placed with the majority of those 80’s next game.
Good thoughts, but I still feel my new NPC condition would be awesome.
Edit
I was running in a champ train zerg today and I was trying to do a little math of how 2% stat increase per stack would affect foes.
Here is a little bit
The forumula:
(n*(n-1))
2*1
Where n is the number of players within range of each other that triggers the boon.
-1 player- 0% increase
-2 players- 2% increase
-3 players- 6% increase
-4 players- 12% increase
-5 players- 20% increase
-6 players- 30% increase
-7 players- 42% increase
-15 players- 210% increase
-35 players-1190% increase
In addition to what I noted above, this could easily remove trains from the game. GW2 said “We’ll be reducing the amount of raw gold that comes out of champion loot bags and events in an effort to keep the economy balanced and spread out player activity a bit” (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/say-goodbye-to-armor-repair-costs-and-hello-to-free-trait-resets/).
Sure, they’re going to reduce some of the gold dropped from champs, but is it really going to be enough? If you open a bag now, you get 1-7s easy. In a large zerg each champ killed is adding a lot of gold to the game. Cut in half it’s still adding a large pot of gold back in. I seriously doubt people will stop.

Edit: Stacking buff would obviously have to be named something else if new critical changes is the same name.

I created this topic to express some PvE related ideas for balancing. I feel for a game to expand the foundation must be a solid and coherent one. I also know never to come to someone with a problem and not a solution. Please comment below and help spread the word. I feel these ideas could really re-revolutionize the future of GW2 as it expands.
1. Downscaling.
Issue:
Currently if you enter a level 15-25 area, for example, you are downscaled to a level 23 which is nearly the highest “recommended” level for that area. With a level 80 character with level 80 gear you still dominate the area, and it is not near challenging due to how much experience you have playing the game. My perspective: I have a friend who just started playing, and I would like to play with them. I consider myself pretty skilled, but when I’m downscaled I’m still to powerful to help. I often find myself standing and not attacking, so they can learn the game. I want him to learn, him to play, AND me.
Suggestion:
I suggest if you enter a level 15-25 area, for example, you should be downscaled to a level 15, the lowest “recommended” level for the area. This makes the entire area much more challenging. Which, frankly, it should be. If you’ve played the entire game and have appropriate armor, understand combat, dodging, etc. you should have a good deal of experience. Also, with appropriate armor and weapons it should better balance itself.
2. Dungeon levels.
Issue:
This is nothing to do with dungeons or their content but rather their “recommended” level. I don’t see why dungeons that have a “recommended” level of 35, for example still take a team of 80’s to pull it off. I like the fact that they’re challenging, but, seriously, just make dungeons level 80 only. Characters under level 80, usually new players, usually end up being kicked for “not being level 80”, which is rather discouraging for a new player.
Suggestion:
Just make all dungeons level 80, and their corresponding inhabitants the same. Pretty straight forward.
3. Zergs
Issue:
The plague of all MMORPG’s is zergs, and there is nothing really stopping them.
Suggestion:
In WvW there is already an “outmanned” buff which isn’t really a buff, but for the sake of this topic, we’ll call it one. I feel it should be renamed and changed to, something along the lines of, +25-50% to all stats. I understand people don’t want a 1 man team going up against a team of 5 and flattening them, but look at the current situation. If you join a WvW map and it’s outmanned chances are you’re going to say “Well, I’ll come back on later”. With a bonus to all stats you could stand a better chance against small teams and tackle towers and camps quickly with a team.
4. Stacking
Issue:
Another bane of MMORPG existence is stacking. Of course teams stack to quickly accumulate boons to allies, focus dps in one location, and funnel enemies into a single point. Really? Do you want to spend you day stacking in a corner or actually putting up a fight?! I’d rather use that “skill” I’ve accumulated playing actually using it rather than bunching up in a corner. This is what makes FPS multiplayer games more satisfying when you get that kill, and MMORPG less satisfying when you kill 10 a once.
Suggestion:
Give all foes in PvE a boon that starts stacking when teams stack.
For example:
Furious (stackable) gain 1 stack for each foe each second they are bunched in a space less than 100 radius. Gain +2% to all possible stats for each stack. 5 second duration.
This immediately forces teams not to stack, and foes to quickly accumulate “Furious” and force unstacking. Simple, easy, game changing.
Thank you for reading. Please share or comment if you would like to see some of this incorporated into the game, or add me in-game if you would like to chat in-game.
Really? 30 days to craft a set of armor. I’m a pretty active player, but, seriously, 30 days to craft a set of armor. It takes longer to craft a set of celestial armor than it does to craft all the legendary weapons in the game.
If you didn’t know, you need 5 charged crystals per piece of armor.
Celestial armor is dead to me. Sorry, but it is. It is a sad day.
+1
But ANET never reads suggestions; and they’re so slow if they did, it would take years to implement.
Getting off topic. Back to the topic we go.
Legendaries should mean something? … your suggesting they be … legendary?
It seems I’m not alone.
I would love to see a table of stats at the end of a dungeon or world event; there would be a lot of stats to view.

Yes, their “uniqueness” sets them apart; and, yes, I agree that there should be some “fun” skins. But having legendaries shout rainbows and unicorns is just, well, lame. Make those “fun” skins ascended which you can choose to craft. Make the Legendaries serious, and meaningful.
OK, I admit that some about two legendaries have ties to previous GW1 lore. We can now say two legendaries mean something, fantastic. -.-
I don’t see why people keep bashing the whole human God idea either. Having the legendary weapons tie in with the gods of Tyria seems to be a fantastic way of tying the lore to the legendaries. Maybe you’re right have the legendaries tie in with other lore like prophecies, for example. Hey, I’m only tossing out ideas here.
This is embarrassing that this isn’t getting much attention. People must like shooting rainbows and unicorns.
Well, just say that I would be offended as a lore lover if they would be tied to the 6 gods.
The char have no gods! (as we know from gw1)
The Norn believe in the spirits of the wild
The Silvari live according to their dream and Ventari’S tablet
The Asura’s believe in the eternal alcehemy. The ancient statues are all placed there by humans. the other races dont deny the ‘gods’ being powerfull but they just dont see them as gods.Thats why it would be offensive to go that way. Thinking bout it that way, having lore neutral names and backgrounds for them makes sense.
But you agree that legendary weapons should be meaningful; and, currently, make no sense?
Hi UC,
First off all no to the reference to the 6 gods. These are human gods, and it wouldnt make sense for a char to be wielding Grenths greatsword.
Also, 114 is too many. The power off the löegendaryis that they took a lot of time to design them, make them detailed, make the effects detailed, give them special animations and so. This would be impossible with such an amount of weapons to have such an amount of details (keep in mind many off the legendary’s still have some minor bugs in the animations and we are a year in).
I would say to limit it to three weapons per weapontype. So the same as greatswords. Two legendary’s and one ‘super’ legendary you can make by combining the first two.
Yes, but they’re meaningless. Some may look cool, but there is no sense in wielding the “best” if it doesn’t even relate to Guild Wars.
Edit
Also, wiki.guildwars2.com says, “Humans often refer to the pantheon as the Six Gods or simply the Six. Other races most commonly refer to them as Human Gods”. Doesn’t necessarily mean that they deny the Gods existance.
(But let’s please not get into a religion debate.)
Also, according to the wiki, “There are still some places where you can see the old models” (God Statues). It goes on to list the locations of the god’s statues. So, they are a part of the game, regardless of race. The other races don’t really go into detail about their beliefs. I’m just trying to make these “legendaries” meaningful.
Thanks for the feedback tho.

Hey everyone:
Let me first say that the current legendary skins, although they some look great, could use some work. I feel that the current skins are nonsensical and feel really random. Also, some of the skins, The Dreamer, for example are just plain ridiculous. None of the current legendaries tie in with any Guild Wars lore, or anything for that matter; and I think it should. Why? Because it should matter.
Here is my suggestion.
These “legendary weapons” should be meaningful, powerful, and lore related.
Legendary weapons should fall into a theme or weapon set, if you will. Think of the Black Lion Weapons Specialist, who sells weapons sets from previous living world releases. I feel that the theme should pertain to the 6 human gods. There should be a Dwayna themed weapon set; a Balthazar, set; a Melandru, set; etc. If you counted, 6 Gods x 19 Weapons = 114. Currently there are 21 legendary skins.
Before everyone says, “Noooo. I wuv mai twilight”. Let me agree with you some of the weapons are awesome, but none of the weapons are meaningful. Maybe Twilight could be part of the Grenth weapon set? Think about it. Also, Yes, 114 Legendary weapons is a lot of weapons, but I’m thinking of 114 for the entire game and expansions included.
As for the ascended, Guild Wars is really nailing it. They’re working diligently on the crafting system to craft ascended; and, so far, is really awesome. Big kudos and fluffy kitten hugs here.
Please comment below. I feel this is an important part of the game that is being lead in the wrong direction, and I want the community’s input. Thanks everyone.
Much love,
United Chi

Agreed. In addition to the below.
-Stacking (as you noted) is lame.
-Originally, GW2 wanted dungeons to be playable by any class and any assortment of those classes with any build. Now it’s all Zerk warriors, protection Guardians, zerk, zerk, zerk. This is even more incredibly lame than your original post.
I noticed this as well.
Add this…..
But add an option to disable “Viewing” so those that don’t care to share don’t have to, but those that want to share, say with guildmates, can.
I suggest adding a similar leaderboard display in-game. I like to think of this as adding the current leaderboards to your PvP window or WvW (rank) window, but just on a much larger scale so you can see what percentile you land in.
Time to time I play PvP for, usually, the dailies. As I play I always wonder where I stand as compared to other players, but the leaderboard only provides the top x % of players, so I never really know where I stand compared to others. I suggest showing the current leaderboards in-game, but in a more graphical representation. It could be something like a line which shows 0%-100%. If you’re in the bottom 0%, 100% of other players are better than you; or if you’re in the top 100%, you’re better than 100% of the other players. (Of course, you could never be the bottom 0% unless you’ve never played PvP.
But what about the current leaderboard? Good question. I don’t think you necessarily have to scrap the whole thing. Think of it as improving the current system and transferring the current idea in-game instead of having to be outside of the game to view it. What about WvW? Currently, there is a server WvW ranking, but not a individual WvW rank (no I’m not talking about your WvW rank/level). When I play WvW I don’t really know how I stack up to other players playing. I just know Ehmry Bay is rank 13 (or whatever), so how about a individual WvW leaderboard? Or what about a new tab under “H” labeled “Rating” or “Leaderboard” or whatnot. It could show you’re PvP standing, WvW standing, PvE standing (noted below).
Other:
Even PvE could have some form of complicated formula to calculate where you stand as compared to other players using data like (dungeons started/completed, events started/completed, dragons started/completed, revives, and the list goes on).
To shorten things, I listed a couple things.
a) Add current leaderboards in-game and expand them.
b) A new individual WvW ranking similar to the current PvP leaderboard.
c) Add a graphical representation of what %tile you fall in. For PvP, WvW, and/or PvE

No mounts in GuildWars2. Period. Get your fill of your glider mount in firefall or whatever the game was called.
No mounts in GuildWars2. Period.
Yea, WoW is for you. There are no classes in this game. If you want to play damage, control and healing, play that way; but there is no class where your only way to play is damage, control, and healing. Make a guardian and play that way if you want. I think you don’t understand that guildwars didn’t want classes, and what you want is classes.
Another suggestion dawned on me after posting this.
It would be nice for their community coordinator to post that they have read the suggestion. If that’s too much work maybe implement a system where a star appears next to the topic if someone from anet has clicked on the topic. Sometimes it feels as if suggestions and forum posts have fallen on deaf ears. At least this way a non-verbal confirmation has been made that someone has seen the post.
Guild Wars, moving forward you should consider reworking some of the present things. Most of the information brought forth is very interesting and will add some much needed content, but some seems less important than some things. Allow me to delve into some aspects.
Underwater combat:
Although very little exists what does exist is avoided by players, nothing was mentioned your post, and if you’ve played the game within the past year you would notice some balance issues.
Armor:
Missing key elements such as rare, exotic aquabreathers for example. Each pieces of armor, trinkets, AND weapons should have equal scales (ex. common, masterwork, rare, exotic, legendary/ascended). Balancing of traits should be almost top priority.
Utilities:
You mention adding utilities to build off of current utilities and playstyles. I’m not really sure where you’re going with this. Let’s talk about a Berserker play style for example. I don’t want to see a utility that increases damage or critical damage etc. I want to see things added like a Ranger blocking utility, since none exist currently.
Living Content:
As you know players crave content. Frankly, I would rather see balance and expansion upon current game content such as skills, skins, foes, etc before expanding to expansions. I hate that you forced yourself to announce every 2 week content updates. Again, frankly, I would rather you do a thorough job than force yourself to crank out updates and small tid-bits of content. But, I guess that’s your decision.
Rewards for Champs and Dungeons
I’m actually happy to report I’m glad with where you’re going with this. Players currently “speed run” and farm paths of dungeons. Most of the time if you’re not a Warrior Zerker you’re not going to get in. This is far from what GuildWars intended dungeons to be. Use this energy and keep going towards that goal of any profession and playstyle team, as long as they are united in a common goal, can complete it.
Crafting
Some like crafting, honestly, I’m not a fan. I was surprised when you announced you’re taking it to 500, but I suppose if you’re going to make legendaries and ascended gear craftable you have to. I would have scrapped the entire system and tried something new. For example, you should only be able to craft items: your level, your class (Heavy, for example), and recipes should be easily acquirable. For conversation sake, Rampager Inscription recipes should be purchasable from the nearby NPC. These recipes, like currently, should hold true for all items etc. I feel like I’m ranting and my point of the crafting system being a mess is getting lost in communication, so I’ll leave it at that.
Traits
Other than your mentioning of updates and balances nothing much was said. I suggest you look into seeing a graphical representation of what players lean towards. If you see, for example, all warriors leaning towards critical damage and power, maybe you should balance those traits to encourage use of others such as healing power and boon duration, etc.
I think I could rant for hours about anything and everything, but, alas, all good things must come to an end. In conclusion, I hope reading my post reignites some passion for ideas for future content or make you pause to question the current direction. Comments and responses appreciated.

Make an option button to turn off local “Music” and have it, by default, always off. If someone wants to listen to you play Hot Cross Buns 100 times, they can turn the checkbox on.
Any and all mount threads should immediately be moved to trash. End of discussion.
Make spirits equal to that of warrior banners then. Obviously, spirits need some attention from gw.
+1 for guild member icons on map.
As a player I always want to contribute to the team. Rangers have the ability to summon spirits. I’ve always wondered how much exactly they are contributing, or am I better off just playing offensively? I suggest that all spirit buffs show as damage for the owner of the spirit.
For example, you summon Frost Spirit (10% bonus damage / 35% chance on hit). The 10% bonus damage should appear as damage the Ranger dealt, and it should appear on their screen. [A Warrior hits 1000 damage, for example. Currently, 1000 damage + 10% = 1100 appears as damage the warrior has dealt. My suggestion is: 1000 damage appears as dealt by the Warrior and appears on his/her screen, and 100 damage appears as dealt by the Ranger and appears on his/her screen.]
Pros
-Rangers know how much they’re contributing.
-Rangers get credit for kills. After all, their utility is the thing doing the damage. (Or just show the damage but don’t credit the Ranger for the kill.)
Cons
-Warriors will gripe that their banners should have a similar mechanic. (Banners, currently, have a similar mechanic to traits that grant bonus power, precision, etc.)
Other Thoughts
-Sun Spirit: Burn damage shown to owner.
-Stone Spirit: Nothing shown? New color text showing damage reduced displayed to owner. If the latter, maybe caster of Aegis, for example, could see their reduced/prevented damage too?
-Frost Spirit: 10% bonus damage shown to owner.
-Storm Spirit: Swiftness granted shown as combo field text?
-Nature Spirit: Healing is already shown. No change.
Thoughts? Comments? Let get some discussion going.

Torment. This condition is designed to play around with movement, one of our fundamental combat mechanics. Enemies under Torment will take damage periodically; as they move, they’ll take even more damage.
Really…What the crap As if Mesmers and Thieves aren’t overpowered enough. Now you can’t move while combating either of them?! You MUST move while fighting thieves or just lay down and die. Stop adding new conditions and buffs to overplayed/powered classes and add it to the underplayed/powered classes. Just because the condition “torment” sounds like a Mesmer and Necromancer condition doesn’t mean you have to apply it to that profession. You would have been better applying the condition to one of the ranger’s traps, for example. If you’re going to make the conscious effort to balance the game, look at the overplayed professions currently and why. If you find out the reason warriors are overplayed is because of zerking all dungeons, either nerf “zerking” or adjust other professions, but for pete’s sake don’t add an additional condition to those classes.
Does anyone else agree that this is a great idea? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Spread the word. Get this recognized.
Please, please, please may a way to save builds.
This has been suggested time and time again, but Guildwars is reluctant to add it. Make a way to save current weapons, armor, utilities, traits, etc. I don’t mind paying the current 3s to retrain your traits. If that’s what it takes, that’s what it takes. At the moment I’m using paint to save pictures of my builds and flipping back and forth to copy what I used.
If you’re confused where you would have store your equipment / weapons, fear not. Say you make a “Build” tab similar to your current bank system or spvp preview equipment if you will. See attachment. Your equipment will be stored in this tab and not in your bank. To remove the item from your “Builds” and back to your inventory it must be removed from all builds. But what if you use the same equipment for a different build? As soon as you use the exact same item twice it becomes, for example, “Shortbow of Accuracy Copy”. If you remove the copy, just the copy is removed from the current build. If the original is removed, it removes any copies from any of your builds. Swapping builds would also display the warning similar to "You are about to change builds. Doing so will cost “x” to retrain your traits." Then display a OK/Cancel box.
You could even turn this into something profitable for Guildwars. For example, you could, by default, grant everyone 3 “build slots” and for 1000 gems add an additional “build slot”. And by “build slot” I mean, similar to mentioned above, a bank row that consists of everything needed for a build.
Guildwars, this is an incredible opportunity for you to add another useful and probably profitable idea to the game. In summary, currently the game lacks a way to save builds. Which forces players either to write on paper, guess, or use other means to remember what they used. Similar to spvp spectator you should be able to allow others to preview your equipment by, say, shift clicking your build.
Thanks. Maybe I’m behind on times and Guildwars has already announced that they will add something different; hopefully, I’m not and others have the same idea. Feel free to leave feedback below.
Just no. (messages must 15characters….)
