Not really… Every server has zergs. At times it’s even a good strat to zerg the other team’s borders. I actually wish CD would do it more often.

The complaint with TC’s zerg was about the unwillingness to fight, or attempt to take defended points when they could just zerg around avoiding combat. I would think this is due to having a large number of lower level players, which is fine. TC has a larger WvW population and many of your strategies reflect that.

I really don’t see why some of you are so defensive about it to be honest.

But again, that’s based on opinion rather than fact. If someone’s going to infer that another server is only good at zerging and not good at anything else, don’t think nobody’s going to come back and try to dispute that lol.

We knew that pressure from both sides would stretch them thin. Not really forming any alliances at all. Just taking advantage of the situation and being tactical. How’s that for brains?

TC- You guys are only effective because you outnumber everyone 5 to 1, but in combat you are weak and even weaker in the seige department. You should be thankful CD is teaching you something in that department cause when you get into tier 2 you will get spanked hard for having bad seige tactics.
I for one am looking forward to the easymode of tier 4. I am thankful we wont have to deal with Tarnished Zerg next week. Have fun with that Yaks and FA.

That’s your opinion. YB outnumber us all too often and have greater numbers than we do, it seems. 50-70 man zergs is an exaggeration. Your post has a bitter tone to it. I guess you just want us to get spanked in Tier 2 because of last week’s results as well as what’s happened in the past couple of days. And regarding siege, all I’m going to say is… thank you for sacrificing 15 golems to us at TCG on the night of reset. Our golem god was most pleased.

Yak and TC have left eachother alone COMPLETELY to doubleteam CD in our borderlands. Almost ALL of the action has been in CD borderland ALL weekend. Get out of EB for 5 minutes and look at what is really going on. It’s a battle between TC and CD with Yak holding a point advantage because TC refuses to fight them.

At it again, I see? Are you being serious lol? What about the first night of reset when TC were surrounded by CD and YB at the Tarnished Coast Garrison for hours? Just because you’re in third place, don’t make up silly stories which are based on your perspective and try to fob them off as fact.

1) Even I think WvW is getting a bit stale now so I think Urrid’s idea will help switch things up a bit.

2) I think you should just bump your post shamelessly every hour or so. Or you should make multiple threads, each with different eye-catching titles. Then you’ll get onto the mods’ blacklist and become infamous at Anet. Then they might actually see what this random person making loads of noise has to say. It’s foolproof!

Oh that’s really annoying. I just made a really long post and it disappeared/got infracted. If it was the latter, I’d be rly peed because there was nothing offensive in my post besides the obnoxious use of CAPS because it gets ppl’s attention and my calling people sexy.

Here’s the watered down version:

1. THE OP HAS NOT SAID HE WANTS STATS TO BE TRANSMUTED. HE JUST WANTS THE APPEARANCE OF THE ARMOUR TO BE TRANSMUTED ACROSS ARMOUR TYPES.

2. No disrespect to you guise, but the people who are against this idea have no real legitimate or valid reasons besides personal preference. That argument doesn’t really hold water. I don’t know those of us who want open customisation should be restricted because you “just don’t want to see warriors in cloth.” That by the way is an exaggeration cause it’s not like all warriors are going to suddenly transmute to wearing cloth. Silly.

3. If I’m PvPing, I don’t have the time to check out my opponent. Usually just clicking and seeing what skill icons there are is enough to tell me who I’m up against. If this is rly such a big deal, then I’m sure they can introduce GIANT profession icons. Idk. Honestly. That’s a very weak argument as well.

4. Restricting people to specific armour types based on their profession is backwards, redundant, unnecessary and a tired concept that I’d expect to see from an MMO in 2004 or something. If I were in a mesmer irl (lol!), why should I not be allowed to wear armour or trenchcoats just because some magical rule says I can’t because I’m a scholar?

5. I really think, like, 70% of the human male light armour is ugly. Sorry, but I just don’t like it. I think it’s hideous. I’ve stopped wearing my shoes (in-game, not irl lol!) because they’re so ugly. This is a tangent but it’s kinda relevant.

6. PLEASE GIVE US OPEN CUSTOMISATION, ANET. PLEASE DON’T BE OLD FASHIONED AND DRACONIAN. It doesn’t even make sense. Not all magic professions want to wear cloth but for some strange reason that isn’t explained by lore, we’re all bound to the cloth!

7. I don’t know how this might be implemented in game. You wouldn’t necessarily have to allow us to transmute across existing armour types. Perhaps consider creating new sets that look like heavy armour but which retain their light/medium stats, for instance.

Although that ‘sir’ is actually a ‘madam’ lol.

So much QQ to sift through. Why are you guise moaning SO MUCH? “Why can’t rangers do this?!” DUH. Because professions are designed differently. You realise that they have different skills, right? Because there’s no point having 8 professions that all function the same. Gosh. If you want to, roll a mesmer.

I take it from your posts that you’re a thief. Thieves were obviously next because, GUESS WHAT, they’re a griefing class. Arguably more so than mesmers. Like us, you’re just sick of getting poked by the nerfbat. It’s not as if the nerfs for thieves were totally unjustified anyway. Nonetheless, you don’t see me moaning about thieves.

And the AoE push/pull ability? You mean Temporal Curtain/Into The Void, there is a cooldown on that, you know? Guardians have a pull ability too.

Basically, you just want Anet to change their nerf focus back to mesmers and leave thieves alone. You are seriously misinformed. Go read up on what mesmers actually do before you post.

Quite a few FA were whining during their matchup with TC too. Just sayin’. Whenever they’re not winning, it’s always “you’re only winning because you have more numbers than us” or “you’re only winning because we have to sleep.”

Coral! waves I risk getting this post infracted for not contributing to the discussion at all but I’m having fun in Wuvwuv! CD hits hard. We were pretty disorganised, imo, on CDBLs last night in the first few hours. Coral, stop lurking on forums and get working! And no drinking on the job either! <3

Idk much about coding or anything, but surely it would be easier to just leave it as it is and make new armour that, for instance, looks like heavy armour but is actually light armour.

I don’t really see why mesmers or elementalists shouldn’t be able to wear heavy armour or anything like that. And it’s not like all guardians/warriors are going to be wearing skirts. That’s a bit of an exaggeration. Personally, I think seeing a mesmer in heavy plated armour would look really cool! ^^

This rly has been a pretty good week. Aside from a few /laughs (I got my revenge by spamming /laugh back at your evil thieves!), you guys have been really annoying/fun to play with. Out of all the matchup threads I’ve been on, this for me has to be the most amicable. I think Tarnished Coast has found its new friendly rival/big brother server. Good luck in next week’s matchup. When you face Blackgate, STOMP ALL OVER THEM AND SHOW NO MERCY >:D.

I have to say, aside from the politics in the thread, we’ve managed to keep it pretty friendly. Out of all the servers we’ve faced, I haven’t really raged yet lol. Sanctum of Rall are really friendly, from what I’ve seen. And you guys don’t boast or brag much either. Aside from that annoying elementalist of yours who keeps getting away from me… Grrrr… <3

Have to say, I’m getting pretty sick of the whole “Oh, we don’t want to disappoint you by telling you things since plans change!” I’d rather have an idea of when it’s coming out, as opposed to being left in the dark about everything.

Because I’m not going to be sitting here, twiddling my thumbs with joy and getting excited over future developments. I will get very bored and lose interest.

Honestly, I just think not telling us anything is kinda rude. So many people have posted and we still don’t get an ETA. Just, yeah…

It’s weird lol… These matchup threads have been pretty tense. Stone, you’re hilarious. That comment… xD But, um, honestly, today when we were in Fort Aspenwood borderlands… it was so annoying. I’m pretty sure you guys took a few leaves out of our book. I think that when you’re the server under pressure, it really forces you to organise and coordinate more effectively. Tarnished Coast got a bit sloppy but I also think many players have taken a break this week.

Also, Fort Aspenwood, you guys are so evil. Honestly. First capping the Bay then weaving your way around slowly to Redbriar and Greenlake and then the Hills keep. In the end, we got so bored that we attempted to ninja your Garrison. It didn’t work but it was more exciting than sitting in AH, waiting for you to arrive.

Idk what happened after that because I took a nap and fell asleep.

Look up. I think we’ve already established that numbers are the determinant factor in Wuvwuv atm. You could have made your points without making snarky remarks. True, you didn’t say it but your comment goes so far as to imply it.

Where, in my post, did I say TC are “sooo good”? Point that out. Please. Some Fort Aspenwood players come across as butthurt because quite a few of the posts here haven’t been about numbers, but rather about how TC aren’t very good players or how we ruined the match. If you want to have a proper discussion, leave the politics out.

And you misunderstand. We’re not getting bent out of shape because you’re pointing out the obvious; we’re annoyed because you can’t seem to state your points without weaving in some unnecessary remarks about TC. Don’t act as if you didn’t know some of what you’d written wouldn’t annoy people. Don’t feign innocence and dress up your posts.

Regardless, I wish some of you would stop with the backhanded comments. If this is Anet’s fault, make that glaringly clear in your first post instead of drawing it out by first blaming Tarnished Coast for nightcapping then coming to the conclusion that it’s actually flawed game design.

I don’t get why people seem to forget that the first night is of pivotal importance (with Wuvwuv’s current state) which is why we stayed up to nightcap. Did people actually think you would go to sleep, wake up the next day and find everything was still as it was when you left?

TLDR: Quit blaming Tarnished Coast and throwing insults at our server when there’s no justification for it.

I really wish you would stop spewing backhanded insults at TC. Unless you’re actually on our server, you wouldn’t have the faintest idea about how we operate. The whole thing where the zerg rolls all over the map and everything else in its path isn’t exclusive to Tarnished Coast.

I think people will always complain about the winning server because, as it stands, the winning server is the one with most people, it seems.

So far, this thread has been civil and we’ve all been very friendly. No one on Tarnished Coast has boasted on this thread so I don’t understand why you feel the need to come on here and put us down a notch.

For every time you’ve held your own against a group substantially larger than your own, we’ve done the same. That’s not exclusive to your server either. Though perhaps setting a trebuchet up outside of Greenlake is.

When we beat our heads against CD, who had much better coverage than us, we didn’t complain or attack them. We accepted that they were much better organised than we were. Night capping is part of Wuvwuv. Check the thread that has been stickied. I’m certainly not saying or implying that Tarnished Coast is better than your servers or anything like that. Just using that matchup as a comparison to show we didn’t insult Crystal Desert.

We did earn the orbs actually. If you’re suggesting that we exploited to get those orbs by nightcapping, your argument is invalid. I’m not great with technical terminology but surely exploiting means taking advantage of a game mechanic such that your opponents can’t possibly counter it, right?

Well then, by that logic, nightcapping is not an exploit. Because each server is free to nightcap. You can’t blame people for having less busy lives, being imsomniacs or living in other timezones. They want to play as well. We all know how important the first two days are which is why we pushed, as did your server and DB.

I’m annoyed because you’re saying we have basically exploited by nightcapping which is accepted as a legitimate means of Wuvwuv’ing. But when it comes to hackers, who nobody likes, you shrug it off and act like it’s okay.

Bear in mind, also, that your server WANTED to face us and Dragonbrand. And now that you’ve got what you want, nobody’s happy. We didn’t expect any of this.

I understand people are angry but your blame is misplaced. It’s ANet’s responsibility to sort out Wuvwuv. Keep it civil, peeps!

I rly do understand it’s not fun for any of us. But frankly, I’m disappointed. You can’t possibly try to defend or justify this. If you decide to keep the orb, that’s fine by me. It’s Fort Aspenwood’s reputation that is on the line here.

Again, instead of defending the orb at FABL, you should be giving it to us on a platter. You didn’t earn it. And by defending it, you’re seemingly condoning the use of a hacker.

I know it’s not fun for any of us but you don’t hack the game to make the matchup more balanced.

Obviously not blaming Fort Aspenwood as a whole for this, but we just had a hacker take the orb from the Hills keep in Fort Aspenwood Borderlands and disappear halfway across the map and dump it on top of a tower where we can’t get it. I think it’s going to reset so could FA please return the orb since it wasn’t acquired through legitimate means?

Galrukh earlier was doing the same by saying that we gave up or whatever. I think we need to stop accusing people and stop making assumptions about other servers.

I just said, from my point of view, that was what it looked like last week. It’s like how every week, each server is certain that the other two are working together.

Looking at the scoreboard and how things are looking in Fort Aspenwood Borderlands, I agree with you. I don’t think the system is balanced atm. I do understand where you are coming from. Idk what it is, but over in your Borderlands, right now, we don’t have a commander. People are just working together and coordinating to recap towers and stuff. Maybe we have more numbers/you have fewer people. Maybe winning like this encourages people to work well together (i.e. boosting morale instead of causing people to bicker).

I think the only reason I was a bit ticked off is because your original post said that Tarnished Coast had ruined the match. I’m glad we’ve cleared this all up.

Edit: I’m so forgetful. Yah, somebody also suggested that we use thieves to perma-stealth and stop you from capping camps. Idk whether or not it’s an exploit, but I advised against it simply because some people from BG had done the same to 20 of us last week at the end of the matchup. We don’t like griefing or exploiting. Even I’ve stopped emoting unless it’s a /bow. I’ll admit I used to do it but not anymore.

ERRRR. HOLD UP. I’m sorry, but that is the view I had of FA last week. Unless you were actually on our server, how could you possibly know that we were rolling over and giving up?

If anything, it seemed to us that that was what FA had done. Where we were fighting to cap towers and keeps in our borderlands, FA had resorted to either hitting camps or not doing anything (in TC-BL!) Only towards the end of the week did you organise and decide that you were going to cap stuff so that both FA and TC would be pushed down for a more balanced matchup. That was how it looked to us.

We haven’t called you losers. We’re asking you to not give up and are trying to encourage you.

And Vorpal, we were well aware we weren’t going to win. But we continued to fight for fun and because we don’t just give up and decide “Oh well, we’ve lost and are not going to play Wuvwuv anymore.”

Just to make sure it’s driven home, we haven’t called Fort Aspenwood losers. We are trying to encourage everyone to stay positive and keep fighting, if not for points, then for fun

But that’s not really how WvW works. And did you make sure that got around to EVERYONE on your server? Because I’m sure they would’ve capped stuff if we took the same approach. You’re blaming TC for playing the game… That doesn’t make sense and it’s not very nice, really ._. We haven’t done anything wrong.

Your point would be valid IF we had done what Blackgate had done i.e. camping all of your spawn exits with siege and AoE to make sure you could not get out at all. I’ve been on Fort Aspenwood Borderlands since the reset and it is so difficult to keep anything up north. Your zerg turns up and flips towers and then we get pushed back south until more people turn up to help and we get some coordination going. Your borderlands are literally flipping 24/7.

And no, we have no WvW if you choose not to fight. That’s not our fault. You’re making a conscious decision not to participate. Other people on your server, however, are still fighting and making our lives hell on your borderlands. It’s not the truth. It’s your opinion.

If I lose, I don’t take it lying down. Tarnished Coast have been taking that approach with everything. Last week, we continued to fight EVERY NIGHT and pushed our way up to 100k points. Don’t blame the other server for morale problems. Even when we lost, we kept our morale up. Why can’t you yourself do the same?

Would you rather we gave you condescending courtesy caps to give you that glimmer or hope? Like Fel said, we login to play for fun. And we like expanding our Butterland borders.
