Sword/Axe first for DPS, then get Staff for heavy CC, then offhand Sword for blocks or Hammer for ranged.

When he’s in his Break Bar stage he does not summon Seekers/Teleports/Green Circles, so not breaking the bar trivializes the raid boss by not breaking his Break Bar and just damaging him.

What’s the DPS/Rotation for hammer and staff using the exact same traits as the Sword build?
Guardian main since launch
Not only there is no Ley Rift right before the Sabetha the Saboteur fight, if you do the Bandit event you respawn close to the fight, but if ANYONE leaves the instance, the ones who left the instance have to come back all the way back from the Gorseval fight arena, having to walk all the way back for much longer making other people wait.

Swap your underwater skill to Shiro/Mallyx or the bug fix is to auto-set standard underwater stances to Shiro/Mallyx through code.
Guardian main since launch
You could try a Devastion/Corruption/Herald build with Viper, Shiro/Mallyx and Mace/Axe I guess.
Guardian main since launch
Block only blocks direct damage hits, pure condition application and condition damage itself goes through blocks.
Guardian main since launch
Alright, let’s go at it again. Without Healing Power, considering no one runs HP on a Revenant, the Mallyx heal heals for 4600 base up to 6388 with 3 conditions on you. The Shiro heal heals you for 6488 over time while also doing damage. It is not a bursty heal, but it is our best heal outside of the situational Infuse Light.
Guardian main since launch
Honestly, Enchanted Daggers is our strongest heal not counting how situational Infuse Light is. Just because it isn’t bursty doesn’t mean it’s not good, and it’s not only our strongest heal it’s also a DPS increase in the Shiro rotation, so there is really no reason to complain.

List of bugs of Shield of Courage :
1: Tooltip only says it blocks projectiles but it blocks any kind of hits (please just correct the tooltip and don’t change the functionality, otherwise no one would use it)
2: Swapping off and on Indomitable Courage gives another version of the same skill that shares a different cooldown so it can be used, then the trait swapped, then it can be used again.
3: When using Indomitable Courage it does not show the duration of the skill, traited or untraited.
4: When using Bulwark and not using Indomitable Courage it shows the duration of both the untraited and the traited version of the skill.

If PvE, run full Berserker, you only cap on crit if you have Fury and Banner of Discipline and Spotter, while also having Assassin’s Presence makes your crits hit even better.
Having all 3 gets you like 103-105% crit, haven’t tested yet.

Commit the heresy of using the Mallyx elite for direct damage along with Shiro instead of condi :^)
not an heresy at all, that kind of hybrid setup works really good!
I say heresy because the best aspect of the condi legend is direct damage, lol
Guardian main since launch
Heal is awesome, Forced is good against the break bar, Road is bad and the Stability takes too long to proc, hammers are conceptually really good but buggy as hell due to collision detection (and radius is 180) and the Elite is fine for such a strong damage reduction.

Although I really don’t get the hate for having a huge damage and killing stuff fast instead of spending 2 hours tanking something and hitting like a wet moodle, if it suits your fancy:
Herald, Dragon stance and the shield are very supportive, staff, Centaur Stance and Salvation line are very healy and have condi cleanse, Dwarf Stance and Retribution are very tanky.
You can run staff and sword/shield or hammer, use Cleric’s/Zealot’s/Nomad’s :^), run Retribution/Salvation/Herald and pick two of Dragon/Centaur/Dwarf Stance.
Have fun.

The Daredevil staff I’ve never looked at, but our Staff is there either for Healing builds with Ventari or pure CC reasons using Surge of the Mists, since it’s a Break Bar destroyer.
So in PvE you can take Staff + Sword/Axe, use your Staff 5 to break the boss’s bar and swap to Sword/Axe for your damage rotation.

Hammer, a long time ago, was an alternative weapon with really close DPS to the ancient Greatsword + Sword/Focus. These days, for PvE, compared with Longbow + Greatsword, it’s a very subpar weapon only worth for it’s quick and short cooldown blast finisher and control. It’s not even a sustain weapon, it’s outright lower overall, although Staff will always be the lootstiks we have.
Guardian main since launch
Very high DPS with Shiro(if you don’t have high quickness uptime), Mallyx(also for DPS when you have quickness/want to take more DPS), offensive support with Glint(fury, might, boon duration), defense with Jalis(bad stability and pure damage reduction) and projectile destruction/condi cleanse with Ventari. They’re one of the most versatile classes in the game while having amazing DPS, just lacking Stability (in which Guardians are still the best) and Stealth (Thief/Engi).

[Suggestion] Tangled Depths meta event change
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Yesterday, I was part of the team that completed the World First team of the King of the Jungle, and although I disconnected and couldn’t get the reward, eighty coordinated people simultaneously on TeamSpeak were required to take on all of the Chak Gerents.
When everyone killed those four Gerents everyone expected a huge final boss or just a REALLY good reward for all that work, but everyone got extremely underwhelming reward for what is, honestly, the actual endboss of this expansion, since everyone’s been zerging Verdant Brink, Octovine and Dragon’s Stand for days now.
Having such an underwhelming reward on such a high level of DPS to kill four Legendary enemies at the same time takes away all the will from people to actually do it again, with the rewards being very specific like the Mistward Helm Casing for the Mistward Headwrap, which I did not get since I disconnected.
Once it has already been done and the rewards have been found to not be worth it at all, that event will be pretty much forgotten.
I’d normally suggest increasing the rewards, but I’m pretty sure the endboss is not supposed to be 4 giant bugs in the middle of expansion, but rather the boss in Dragon’s Stand, so the best thing would remove the DPS check (incredibly high HP) of the Legendary Chak Gerent and simply halve its health bar.
Thank you for your time.

The Glint + Shiro rotation doesn’t include activating Facet of Nature at the start, right?
Guardian main since launch
Shiro’s is offensive but heals more than the others over time
Mallyx’s is medĂocre without being afflicted by conditions
Jalis’ is our best burst heal and removes conditions
Ventari’s doesn’t even have a healing skill
Glint’s is situational
Guardian main since launch
Since the beginning, Revenants were supposed to have a mix between Energy and cooldowns, they’re not copies of thieves, they have low cooldowns and Energy costs in the unique snowflake way they are.
Guardian main since launch
Deactivate the Facet of Nature whenever you swap Legends so you can free the Energy upkeep without having to waste its cooldown or having to run out of Energy. What do you guys think?
Guardian main since launch
Both 1 and 2 are really good, but 3 is incredibly underwhelming.
Guardian main since launch
I’m pretty sure the problem you’re talking about is Facet of Nature, which does not deactivate when you swap Legends, only when you run out of Energy or use One With Nature, since your max Energy degen is -10, while Odds + FoN is -12. Try swapping to Shiro only when your Energy on Glint runs out and then tell me if Odds works or not.

The Break bar doesn’t work like that. Whenever a boss has a break bar, soft and hard CCs only destroy the bar and have no other effect, it can’t be actively taunted/slowed/chilled etc.

Ok, Revenant is unbelieveably overpowered in all game modes. Any class that can, with its elite specialization, do two full heals in a row with little complexity to the class is a broken class. Playtesters constantly told Anet that the class was broken but they decided to ignore us.
Ventari full healing wot
The heal from Natural Harmony heals me for 1600 and the elite’s fragments are even weaker.
Infuse Light full healing wot
The heal is as weak as Ventari’s with the added effect of healing damage you take. If you hit someone while they are healing with that, good luck.
I’m pretty sure you are playing against a Revenant and don’t know how they work.
Guardian main since launch
I’d say scholar is better when you are not relied upon for might in a group and you can leave the might to the Phalanx Warrior.

I haven’t unlocked ventari yet on my Revenant, but I will let you all know how it feels to me from another class perspective.
I was a thief (glassy/squishy) doing the legendary wyvern mother event in the canopy. I made a bad dodge and was hit with the wyvern’s acid. I had 1.5k health left, burning eating away the remaining health, and my heal on cooldown. I felt the downed state was rapidly approaching. Looking around I spotted a revenant’s tablet not too far away, shining like a beacon of hope. I shadowstepped over to it just in time for it to cleanse my conditions and begin passively healing me with regen. The mysterious revenant in control willed the tablet to pulse an aoe heal, then kindly move the tablet through me to wherever they had gone on the battlefield. After that I had about 4/5ths of my health back, my heal ready for later, and was saved the dishonor of the downed state. I was very grateful to them.
We need more epic stories like this.

Berserker+Scholar/Strength runes so you feel the kind of damage you can do (spoilers: huge) and already start getting used to your active defenses.
Those are your sword’s evade and block, hammer’s projectile defense, Shiro’s evade, Mallyx’s Resistance, Jalis’ hammers and Elite, Ventari’s bubble and Glint’s Infuse Light and a few others you might find.

Each stance has a very defined role, therefore you can mix your roles depending on which stances you take.
Shiro is very mobile and offensive
Mallyx deals with your parties’ conditions and the enemy’s boons while doing nice damage
Jalis is your defensive backup with stability, flat out damage mitigation and sustain and some CC
Ventari is very supportive but the defense from Protective Solace is invaluable
Glint is BoonBotOp 2.0
Although Ventari is underused since it needs some gerais, overall it’s great to say every legend has its place and is unique.

Dismantle Fortifications, though competing with other great traits, is probably great for PvP, but for PvE where a boss with Stability is as rare as a precursor, while Break Bars are everywhere, is a problem.
Having that trait make, say, CC skills deal double damage to a break bar would make it REALLY compelling to take for bosses that you need to crowd-control really quickly.
Please add something such as “crowd-control skills do double damage against break bars”, including, if possible, soft CC such as cripple/chill/taunt from the Revenant.
If only hard CCs such as pulls or Jade Winds are applicable, still fine with that.
Thanks for your time.

You want to swap your legends as soon as your Energy goes to zero, since the 10 seconds of Legend recharge equals a regeneration of 50 energy, which basically means you can use free 50 energy from another Legend while the one recharging acts like it was regenerating to 50 so you can use it again. Swap all day long.
