Retribution trait:
- It gives 10% bonus damage on Sword and Spear skills, inheriting those effects from the revamped trait Powerful Blades.
- It currently gives base 250 Ferocity and 150 bonus Ferocity when you have Retaliation.

Symbolic Exposure trait:
- Instead of 3 stacks (according to patch notes) only 2 stacks of Vulnerability are applied per pulse. Duration is up-to-date.

Perfect Inscriptions trait:
- When activating signets you do not get the 10-second effect buff yourself and the buff is currently able to stack in intensity.

Swapping Signet positions bug:
- When you move a Utility Slot Signet to the left, it gains a passive stack of itself, and if you move it to the right it loses extra stacks.

While in the patch notes it says Symbolic Exposure’s vulnerability stacks were changed from 1 stack to 3 stacks for 5 seconds, it’s been changed from 1 stack to 2 stacks for 5 seconds

[Patch Feedback] Shield of the Avenger

From all the great changes of this patch, including the rework of Radiant Retaliation to Righteous Instincts and the Spirit Weapon rework, there’s one big, isolated problem. The dome from Shield of the Avenger barely lasts 3 seconds, while before the patch the dome lasted for 20 seconds, it’s really shoddy for projectile absorption now. If you guys could change it so it has a 10 second absorption duration with even a 10-15 second cooldown it’d be really great. The secondary effect isn’t bad.

I know PvP needs its delicate balancing, but as a guy who has been in PvE since launch, from a PvE perspective, could you guys not alter the Daze on Piercing Light, at least in PvE?

From a Fractal/Raid perspective, that CC boosts the Dragonhunter’s abilities to a good point, while Slow would be ineffective against a breakbar since the Chronomancer’s Avengers already dish out so much Slow. Even taking away the unblockable factor of Test of Faith would be fine, since that trap is the most concerning one from my perspective.

Warrior Guides for T4 Fractals

On T4, teamwork is key.

Besides specific information on each Fractal encounter that you can find on the wiki/gw2dungeons, as a Warrior your job is to do reasonable damage, give Might and Banners. If you do your part and stack on the right spots and your teammates don’t follow the strategy or don’t do their part, then it’s beyond what you can do.

Once you feel you are capable on Fractals by doing your part as a PS Berserker/Condi PS, find a stable group with defined roles (e.g: Berserker|Chronomancer|Druid|Tempest|Dragonhunter) that also hold their own and use the same strategies you do. You can’t do a DPS setup while being 2-shot by enemies unless you’re blowing them up with proper teamwork.

Nearby Event marker is bugged

Whenever I’m in Open World and the closest Dynamic Event is far away enough, a Nearby Event marker shows up and when I move close to it there’s actually no event there.

Happens in every Open World map I’ve been to.

You need to compare how many more you save by having the lower and higher bound as close as possible. You get as many +7 as possible before going towards +9. Basically, using 16 +9 with 2 +5 makes you spend WAYYYY more than the optimal alternative.

Best way to get 150 without Tears of Alba is to use 12 +9 with 6 +7 since there are no stat infusions with +8.

After the hit to Pyromancer’s Training a lot of PvE damage rotations have been altered, but Fresh Air feels off quite a bit. Before, you could use Burning Speed every time in fire and Wildfire every other time. With Drake’s Breath buff, it can be incorporated after Burning Speed for Wildfire have a bit more time to cooldown, but you still need to wait for a while, especially if you have Quickness without Alacrity, so either you wait it out or use it every 3 cycles.

tl;dr Pyromancer’s Training made Wildfire feel really off, before you could use it every 2 cycles on the Fresh Air rotation, now either you wait it out or do it every 3 cycles.

Ice Giant not repeatable for achievements

Unlike other bosses from other episodes I can’t reset the fight with the Ice Giant for the 5 minute fight/No-freeze achievements, and instead I have to restart the whole chapter and fight through Svanir, wolves, spiders and Ice Elementals to finally get a chance to get the achievements.

Compared to most of the other underwater auto-attacks, Spear of Light is really weak for underwater damage and it’s also single target, making Guardian quite weak underwater in spite of Zealot’s Flurry (I’d buff it too).

Could ArenaNet look into the idea of changing it to a melee chain that hits up to 3 foes? I also think way too much stuff applies Vulnerability, so changing it for more damage or other effect would be nice.

I really want to stop envying Mesmer for how fun their underwater skills are.

My input on this:

The 3 mainhands are now very defined in their roles:
- Scepter is DPS
- Sword is mobility
- Mace is defense

Mace/Shield finally have their matching Aegis.

We have long awaited fixes to the projectiles on Sword Wave, Faithful Strike finally hits 3 targets and is even better at healing, Zealot’s Defense is improved, Sanctuary is finally great and feels powerful, Heavy Light turned from random to controllable. Will miss using Communal Defenses on infinite allies with Shattered Aegis. The old Smite was definitely buffed having like half of its damage turned AoE, though we might want to take a look at the adverse effects of Writ of Persistence spreading out the fists. Although Orb of Wrath’s range was diminished, you couldn’t expect to hit a moving target with it, could you? Especially now that you want to be close for the might from Smite it doesn’t really matter anymore.

This patch not only introduced much awaited symbols, it introduced many little fixes and buffs that have been due for many, many years. This is definitely my favorite Guardian patch since Launch, even better than the Specializations patch.

Since you can’t use Legendary Dragon Stance (Glint) underwater, just make sure you switch to Shiro/Mallyx once underwater and it’ll stay that way forever. Doesn’t need a fix, needs 5 seconds of your time.

Wing 2 3rd Boss respawn

Same bug we had with Sabetha, if you die fighting the third boss in wing 2 and you have left the instance at least once you respawn as if you hadn’t done the event between the second and third boss. It respawns at the correct location if you haven’t left the instance.

When a buff to your stats is enemy-dependant, such as “have 30% more crit when hitting a slowed enemy”, you can be fighting multiple foes and some of them may not have Slow. Instead of adding to your stat panel, since it would be a major confusion against more than one mob, they are not shown to you, just inherently affected on each mob. That 20% you have is probably just Fury.

Will just give a couple suggestions:

- While the LFG can’t support squads because of whichever reasons, give us a Raid tab and while we’re at it, tabs for Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, Tangled Depths and Dragon’s Stand. Open World Content has never been more flooded.

- Really looking forward to Reflection and Stability being used for fights. Also adding jumping puzzles to circumvent mechanics (as intended) would be a great addition.

- Taking the feedback from Spirit Vale and adding Adrenal Mushroom and Ley Rifts before each boss, so we don’t have to worry about it later.

Really eager for Salvation Pass!

Considering the fix is being worked on, but hasn’t been worked on, how about this suggestion. Since the key is dirt cheap to get, removing the confirmation prompt would be a step forward, and being able to buy all the 30 keys or remaining discounted keys at each discounted price in one click would be amazing.

On swap sigils proc on weapon swap. It does not matter which weapon you are swapping to, just that you pushed the “swap” button. So you could have a mainhand sword on one swap and a focus on the other, then having two sets would allow you to proc whatever on swap sigils.

About rotation, even after having Commander’s armor and boon duration food + utility, having a Concentration sigil was the best purchase I’ve ever had.

You can perfectly have 100% uptime on quickness AND on your “Quickness burst”, since you do not put out quickness throughout your whole rotation.

The rotation for Quickness at Metabattle is a very good guideline for a rotation that uses the Concentration to it’s full potential, and even on Berserker gear, using boon food + utility and a Concentration sigil keeping up Quickness on your party becomes really easy.

tl;dr: Buy it, it’s REALLY worth it and REALLY easy to use.

If you have no mainhand in the 2nd set, you’ll use the first mainhand, so you swap to it.

It’s not a flexible / good sigil tough, it forces you to completly mess up your rotation and you’ll not always have your skills rdy if you need them. The duration is also too short for a 100% uptime, so even if you swap at the right moment, you can’t support a full CS (F5) with it.
Better get your boon dura elsewhere. I suggest 5x surging + platin doubloon and bountiful sharps or simply leadership here. Those are the best runes you could have as a Chrono.

This is just flat out wrong information, Concentration lasts for 7 seconds and the duration of CS is 6 seconds with 3 illusions, you have an extra second duration which you can use a Tides and maybe a well.

Also, Chronomancer runes are not only ridiculously cheap, they are craftable and give a really valuable Quickness burst for your rotation, while just boon duration runes give your Time Warp, Well of Action and Tides of Time slightly longer boon duration.

At 100% duration, you get 22 seconds at the end of Time Warp, 6 seconds from Tides and 6 seconds from Action.

With 100% duration (from Revenant and the following) or running Boon Duration food + utility, Chronomancer runes and a sigil of concentration (66%), you get:
Tides of Time: 5 seconds
Well of Eternity: 3.2 seconds
Well of Recall: 3.2
Well of Action: 3.2 + 4.8
Time Warp: 18.3

While also having more uptime since you have more skills such as wells to contribute to your Quickness burst.

DH, DD and Tempest have DPS.
Berserker, Chrono, Herald and Druid have incredible offensive buffs/boons, with added healing from Druid.
Engineer and Reaper have good condition DPS.
Every class has their role, Daredevil doesn’t have kitten for utility and Reaper has small relative utility, but they make up for that with DPS.

Top kek. That out of the way, Ascended armor is not only great for having top stats, it’s also swappable in it’s armor tier, so:
- Heavy armor can be used by Warriors, Guardians and Revenants and their specializations
- Medium armor can be used by Rangers, Thieves and Engineers and their specs
- Light armor can be used by Mesmers, Elementalists and Necromancers and their specs

While the armor you have right now might not be the best build for the other classes, you can easily overwrite runes and change the stats with the Anthology of Heroes (click for more info), so it’s no big a deal such as making another set of Ascended armor.

Also, everyone has spent gold or a lot of time on their armor, by getting the materials and crafting it, or buying the materials and crafting or just outright buying it. I have seven sets myself and I consider it an investment.

As far as I know it prioritizes subgroup healing, and if a subgroup member is full the healing goes to members from other subgroups. Just put the Druid/Auramancer/random healer spec with the tank/by itself.

While Tempest sacrifices some damage for healing, while still small, is a bigger hit than a Druid that has on Grace of the Land a really good excuse to heal people, and if needed Celestial Avatar along with Staff and Glyphs lets them top people off quickly while still giving valuable offensive support.

tl;dr: Druid has really good excuses for healing.

How to make old&new fractals interesting.

Although right now Fractals have much room for improvement, my choice would be:

- Taking away the path of least resistance through dailies giving 3 random fractals of each tier, separating 51-75 and 76-100 (having a 1-20 daily, 21-50, 51-75 and 76-100)
- Changing the completely nonsensical instabilities like Boon Fumbler (lose boons on dodge) and No Pain, No Gain (apply boons on crit)
- Getting a recommended fractal for every of the four tiers

Though the day I get 64 (Thaumanova + Afflicted) I might reconsider doing it :P

Let me make it clear what this game is about: killing stuff.
How to make it fun and engaging? Make killing stuff as hard as engaging as possiblr. Introduce break bars, the need for soft/hard CCs on Seekers, movement, soft CCs on Charged Souls, boon stripping enemies, kicking bombs, throwing bombs, not exploding bombs on your teammates’ faces. Also known as doing everything to stop you from killing foes. But you must not forget you must still kill your enemy. As fast as you can. Because it is not fun to spend 10 minutes to phase Vale. You become as effective as you can on the side stuff other than damage, while maximizing damage because you’re there to kill it. Kill it, not look at it.

State of the Game Update —Q1 2016

From a PvE-focused perspective, with regards to the Balance Patch for Q1-2016, please do not touch the Revenant/Herald’s autoattack damage on Sword, it’s the only thing keeping it’s damage decent in comparison with the damage over time of other classes.

If anything, please buff the Mace, since it’s uncomparable in Condition damage, if it were buffed it would go a long way towards build diversity for a Revenant, since it’s the most underused weapon for PvE, with Hammer having the distance spot, Staff having the valuable Break Bar damage. A rework of the Mallyx line would also be interesting, since it’s trait synergizes with how Mallyx used to be in beta, not as it is right now.

Also would be awesome taking a look at the offhand sword, currently not used as much due to the Sword 5, Grasping Shadow, which has really low opportunities to be good, if any.

[Suggestion] Level selection in Fractal Lobby

Right now the fastest way is to go to character select when you’re done with the fractal, then only have one person go in, then go in the actual fractal island while everyone waits and goes in when the person is in the island.

Can we please select the Fractal level inside the Lobby so it’s much faster, everyone checks up as they should, we avoid a bunch of loading screens and have a smoother experience doing fractals? I’m pretty sure 100% of the fractal community would agree with me on this, since it’d make the experience much better for everyone.

Fourth shatter effect in tooltip

Considering the old trait that made the shatter also have an effect around the mesmer itself was turned baseline, the tooltips do not show the additional effect in the shatter’s tooltip, such as the damage of the four hits of Mind Wrack when having 3 illusions up, etc.

Sword/Axe + Staff.

Staff for huge CC with Surge of the Mists.

Axe for using energy with Frigid Blitz in Glint(without Quickness) or CC with Temporal Rift.

Temporal Rift was fixed and all pulls take the same off the Break Bar, so it’s as good as Grasping Shadow (sword 5) for Break Bar now.

Even though the tooltip says now it blocks attacks not just projectiles, it’s a buggy skill since:
- You can change from/to the Indomitable Courage trait and the skill cooldown is not shared (can use it twice),
- When using Indomitable Courage, it does not show the duration of the shield.
- When not using Indomitable Courage, it either shows 5 seconds or shows 5 seconds AND 7 seconds when using Bulwark.
