What’s bother me is if i want to play rev either i’ll need 2 sets of armor, play hybrid or celestial, it’s not very attractive on this point look very limited.
Guys, just wait for the specialization to come out, we know little right now to say it’s gonna be better than necro/necro specialization. Take it easy and wait.
I don’t know how many legends will be there but if every one of them is different in playstyle (conditions, power, hybrid) this is going to cost a lot for armors, trinkets and weapons, except if you go hybrid. I think it’ll cost too much, hope not.
Or go toughness and use it to boost your power from Deadly strength in death magic. Use armor knight/cavalier dagger/warhorn + staff, it’s a power build and you’ll be able to tank too.
I use it vs Golem Mark II world boss, if you use elsewhere you’ll probably need Near to death trait to spam it.
I would like a second set of every weapons and more than that i would like more animations when you use it.
Appreciate the replies guys. So if I ever get to that level (doubtful) and I want to compete as a necro I guess condi would be my only option. Power necro is definitely what I enjoy most though so for those of u who are the same can u make a suggestion of a more viable power class that I might enjoy with a similar play style?
If you get to that level you will be able to make it work, you’ll find a way to play it. Just keep playing.
You can already be a reaper by obtaining 873,500 rank points in pvp.
Since our profession mechanic is about death shroud/life force we need to be able to take some hits so it would be a nice way to make us survive, this and new GS skills. But at the moment vampire is’nt viable.
Hopefully with the expansion necros will get some team support so that there will be instances where we are actually preferred over other classes. I think we need small changes here and there but nothing spectacular.
I suggest one of the changes should be an elite for death shroud. Maybe something like:From Death to Life:
Apply torment to yourself and sacrifice life force in order to revive up to 2 nearby allies. You sacrifice 40% life force per ally.
Radius 600 Cast time 2s Cooldown 180sIt could look like life transfer reversed :P

I want a good power weapon tha t cleaves but i heard that we getting great sword so hurray. Second I want I good team oriented utility. most of the others classes have one. Ele has auras. Condition removal for guardian. rangers have their spirits. mesmer have their portal plus their endless reflects which makes them really useful. Also fix our life siphon and minion A I. It makes me feel bad when I take out my minion.
Dagger is our power weapon that cleave.
As utility you can use Plague signet, well of power for condition removal and Spectral Wall for protection remember you can trait for each well you do will apply protection too.
For the life siphon yes it’s true it’s not totally worth it, but just keep in mind Death Shroud + siphon health = very hard to kill, add some minions to that and we’ll be almost unkillable.

Too soon to speculate, dunno if we’ll keep DS if yes the specialization may go damage, if not, they must balanced the loss of DS with defensive utility/traits/weapon skills.(doubtful) Or maybe they plan to take off the minions mechanic to put some damage/defense/support traits and utility skills to make us better in every aspect.
Maybe they plan to turn the necro in a kind of Herald of Xotli from Age of Conan.

I don’t know what will be our specialization and new mechanic but just keep in mind that we don’t have blocks, leap, invu, because of death shroud, take it off and you better pray that specialization got some mobility and/or blocks.
Just imagine the ranger GS into our hands, you got leap AND block.
Necro always been difficult to play, you have to work your kill twice as hard as a warrior would do. It took me a while to find a niche for my playstyle, fact is i’m a powermancer. Anet always nerfed condi so i was’nt affected by most of the changes. I don’t share all the negativity about the necro because if you put all negative, you’ll notice there’s nothing good about the necro and that’s not true. Necro is supposed to be difficult so either they change it completely to fit most players playstyle or we just deal with howhe is now. I run approximately this build, might not work for everybody.
PvP here is where we run in to a lot of l2p issues. Which is what you basically said everyone needs to l2p like you! Except I’m willing to bet you don’t spvp and would probably get rekt.
In spvp it’s another thing, i have the chance to play with a good team so i don’t get ’’rekt’’. I just wanted to said to lordhelmos practice makes perfect, because he seemed to give up on necro. I like playin necro so i just wanted to tell him that he need more time to be as good as he want to be. So i apologize if i sounded condescending, it was’nt intended.

I’m being condescending when i say to people to stop thinking in the magic build and just practice the necro a little more instead of giving up to another professions. I’m kind of sick reading how bad the necro is or how good he is to do only one thing.(like conditions)
When you see a video of a necro in WvW doing some 3v1 and managing not only to survive but to kill them, how bad that necro is? Does he have a magic build that will magically kill 3 guys or the player parctice a lot?

Imo necro are very nice, it took me a year to play it correctly, yes you MUST work to get your kill but if i can tell you one thing, keep playin/practicing.
I have a warrior, ranger and a thief, i prefer my necro, i just like the feel.
About the build, what do you want to play? condition, power or hybrid? Find the sweet spot for each attributes and try lots of things.
I have 3 suggestions. 1: In the chat they can put the ’’server’’ tab so everybody from that server can respond to the call to arms.
2: The commander can get info from the sentry like if he saw somebody or who and when he got killed.(so info from sentries)
3: When you’re in a keep or tower the commander should have the option to call ALL guards in the keep/tower for backup.
Hello, i choose to play a ranger because its a challenge to make it worth it in wvw. I need some help with my build btw runes in weapons can be anything at this point.
I can reach almost all my sweet spots like 2k power, 51% critical chance and 850 condition damage.
The build atm is very viable, i just need to stay away from direct damage.
The problem is i understand now that with a ’’cleansing’’ build i need more toughness than vitality, so do you guys have some advices about what i should do now? Thanks in advance.

Great video, warrior community try to find 1000 excuses for what happen in the video, they don’t want to make an video or maybe they did and they they are too shocked with the results. Maybe the thief can be visible after taking a hit or some damage like from the moment the thief disappear if he take 1000 damage he will reappear, something like that. With some tweak it might work, no?
Can be good, i would like spectral armor to block x hit then explodes on enemies spreading conditions you had on them.
I think spectral attunement should give x sec of stability when activations spectral skills. (make sense on all skills except spectral grasp)
Or you push F2 and it convert life force into explosion with radius 300 more life force = more damage, but you’re empty after. You can even add some effect to it via traits.

I can trap someone in a full WoS pretty easily. Bone Fiend is really underrated for this.

D/D to transfer conditions can be good because it’s a low vitality build.

Maybe a mace fit more on necro, no? They can add a block. And a torch can be great too but i’m fine with the necro atm.
I run a 30/0/25/0/15 build toughness/power via Deadly strength and use knight/cavalier, it work well if you use spitefull vigor and ritual of protection, best use with dagger main hand.
With deadly strenght toughness is the way for defensive AND offensive, spec Knight and/or Cavalier. And for the heal CC burn all the conditions there’s nothing better than that. If the passive of signet of vamp included a passive conditions transfer/comsume/remover i would have think about it.
I don’t think spectral grasp is the worst skill in the game, it just need to be faster and be more permissive ny not letting a small rock block the way. Because frankly if you try spectral grasp on an ele who try to get away…. it won’t work…. at all, the attack are too sloooooow.
You want a challenge? Play necro!! Just don’t stick to condition, there’s a LOT of possible builds if you have a good vision. Power necro is as bad as people say, for now i play 30/0/25/15, read carefully all traits minor and major, you’ll find something fit for you.
Perfect imbalance? You mean like MTG and Guild Wars 1? They throw a LOT of skills/cards to adapt to any deck/build. Tell me how i do that in GW2? Where’s all the skills that can allow me to adapt? I just think some peoples watch videos that they don’t understand.

Don’t worry the guy Karl don’t even play it correctly he should go in the sparring partner place. It sure lack of something like… every 10sec we lose a condition. Because there’s no way we will trade CC for that signet. It seem they don’t know where to go with the necro.

I started to play spectral grasp and i think in WvW it need to be more permissive, when i try to bring back an opponent, a small rock or even minion/pet/guard or he jump and it fail.
Search ’’Jatoro’’ at trader if you want a condition build or try knight/zerk for armor and cavalier for trinket(power/crit). Something will/must work.
I did both, i killed lot of players AND damaged gates. I think i will forget about the 20 achievement points
