QUICKNESS ISNT THE PROBLEM. I mean sure, it’s a 50% damage decrease for the worst class in the game. But they also, in their great wisdom, increased the duration of frenzy: for both the quickness AND the debuff. I can’t even cast endure pain to cover my frenzy charge – I’m completely vulnerable for 2 whole seconds now. Not to mention I’m doing 50% less damage. Quickness got nerfed, but they didn’t reduce the frenzy debuff along with it (or hell buff endure pain, already they worst immune in the game). An absolutely pathetic patch for warriors.

Also kitten they didn’t nerf D/D ele’s yet, but that’s a different story.

I think we’ve had a lot of trolls in EB recently, which explains the ACs and Treb, but we also get a bunch of people into WvW that have only ever done PvE. They literally have no idea what they are doing. Hence they build a ram on a wall.

anyway, fun fights tonight. ALS/SoS had a HUGE zerg in EBG…walked right into Wildcreek and Aldons. They even took SM for all of about 10 minutes before we got it back. [Sekz] is well over 2000 kills since reset…just insane numbers of people.

Well, unfortunately, you’re wrong in think we’re just another guild. GF apparently thinks they wipe our 30-40 man zergs (we had 16) with our backs turned at a tower and likes to call us out on it. Though, to be fair, we had pretty even numbers in fights and they lost to us as much as we lost to them. All in all, good fights – it was fun. But clearly, they are looking for us. We’ve had some good fights in the past against Sekz, and members of Sekz have given us props and GGs. So obviously Sekz has fun fighting us. I cannot speak to this singular occasion where some WAR members ran away from you; I’ve personally never done it. I generally relish the chance for a tough fight. I think Friday was one of the few times we ran specific classes and builds – normally we just like to run around in WvW and have fun and there’s no real “leadership” for the most part. So unless you fought us on Friday this week, which as far as I know you didn’t, there have been few to none organized WAR groups since then. Basically you’re saying: ONE TIME, in WvW, someone ran away from us!

I posted in the Necro forums about this a while back. It seems some other people have had the same problems.

Essentially I instantly get killed when put into the downed state. In theory I should have a solid 5-6 seconds while suffering auto attacks before I am finished off. Instead, 1 person can kill me with autos before my #3’s CD is up. 2 people can kill me before I can even get off a #2 fear.

I have no idea what may be causing this. I believe my Necro dies correctly in PvP, though I’m not sure about PvE.

I’m not sure if you are serious in your boasts or not but usually its pretty easy to set up 1v1’s. I’m not sure you would be able to maintain your 150+/5 ratio though (and let’s not forget you were drunk handicapped so who knows how many 1000’s of players you would beat sober…….sigh)

No, I’m on the east coast. Most of our guys are too. I go to bed around now these days, however. Also, I didn’t claim to win 150 1v1s. We were fighting Ebay’s zergs, and were generally very successful. Also, I wouldn’t take any of that too seriously since I was all but black out drunk when I posted that. I was also very drunk while I was playing, so who knows what the real numbers were.

I would welcome 1v1s with your guys, however.

Yeah, I would totally agree that BP is the least “skilled” server in this matchup. In general, our server is much more casual. We no longer have any huge WvW guilds. We have like 1 or 2 that can field numbers that can match a full pK group, or even a full Sekz group. We have a lot of smaller guilds. But, hey, we have fun doing WvW and that’s really all that matters. We have pride in our server – our server makeup hasn’t changed since we lost several of our big guilds; we’ve gotten much better as a server in general. I’m impressed that we can do what we do with the numbers we have and the lack of big guilds. Pretty fun environment all in all.

[BURN] has good tactics with distractions and ninja sieges, usually pretty persistent.

and [GOAT] is the only guild i’ve seen time and time again make an honest effort to run something organized away from a zerg and not shy away from an open field fight.

Only outnumbered 2-1 and only 150 kills? Get to the 3-1 level and 400+ kills and then you can start moving that scale away from the ‘think less of you’ side. But too be honest on a good initiate from ADQQBSty we knock down about 5-10 within a few seconds which evens the numbers out a bit.

Well, I’m being humble. It could very well have been 3-1. And we probably got more than 150 kills. I really only died 5 times in 6 hours… and that was only because I was really drunk. Lets just say that Ebay was putting swords on the maps, and we had no where near those numbers (only 5 [WAR] ever in the zone). Doesn’t really matter. We were all just having fun, and I got home from the party and was feeling pretty awesome and wanted to talk some silly trash before I passed out.

But seriously, where does AD/QQ/BSty play at? I haven’t seen any DR all week! I really wanted to skirmish with you guys (huge fun of all your videos!).

Ouch, everyone be hatin’ on my level of inebriation when I posted last night. Or jealous? Or mad? I wasn’t even on my main and we were still wrecking face all day in EBay’s BL. Only reason we ever died was because we were outnumbered 2-1 or Ebay decided to play Horde mode with us by respawning in wave after wave after wave and throwing themselves onto our swords.

Only guild on EBay I have any respect for is Sekz. I’d like to say pK too, but I’ve only fought them when they’ve had 3x our numbers so I can’t really say for sure how good they are, though they moved really well as a unit. ECHO has some good players, but they have no honor in battle, in my experience, so I don’t respect them.

Hey, Kyle Finnegan – I got your back, bro! I’ll be your second if anyone thinks they can take on Borlis’ finest 1v1! I think AR can confirm that I’m pretty handy in a 1v1 (right Grimbeerd?!) I haven’t gotten to play much this week – but when I get the chance, I’ll be out for badges – and I hear the EBay ones are especially shiny!

Also, for clarification – Borlis has had a net loss of players since the new year. We gained one small guild. We don’t have a large oceanic population. We don’t even have a large night crew. I think we have a pretty decent daytime crew, if anything, relative to other servers. What we do have are dedicated guilds and commanders who love this game and love WvW. Sometimes we stay up late to do some damage – I’ve done this personally a number of times. But I do this with 8 people – maybe 3 of my guildies and some random pugs – and by communicating with commanders and guilds across the server so that we can coordinate pushes.

All in all – since our server essentially imploded the last time we hit this tier – we’ve had a HUGE turn around. We ditched our “alliance / pact” thing. Now we’re simply Borlis Pass (community). We don’t have any “leaders”, just people who enjoy WvW and step up to organize. Truly, this community is a pleasure to be a part of – it has come a LONG way since the days before our two largest guilds left us. So… give some credit where credit is due – you might call us try hards – but we’ve worked hard to improve our community, our communication, and our WvW strategy and coverage. It’s not perfect, but we are all having a ton of fun.

And anyways – if you aren’t PvDoor’ing in this game, you’re zerging… you can’t win with the critics. I PvDoor all the time – with 5 people. How else am I going to take a tower? You gotta take what you can when they aren’t looking. How is that a bad thing?

That is odd. I’ve never experienced this problem before, but it seems as though the rest of you are quite familiar with it. If this problem continues, I’d suggest throwing it up on the thread for Necromancer bugs.

I would like to throw it up as a bug, but I don’t have enough info about this. Is it my armor set up that is the cause? Does it happen all the time? Or some of the time? Is this just normal on light armor character? (My other 80s are a Guardian and a Warrior, who will survive many auto attacks before being killed, so I don’t have a good frame of reference). I guess I was throwing it out there to see if in fact, yes, this is a bug; and, if anyone else had experienced it. Or is this just normal behavior?

No, JohnnyBoy it’s not a death penalty thing. I just seem to have no hp while downed. It’s kind of odd compared to other classes.

Yeah, I definitely don’t the the rally debuff on. At least it seems that I’m not totally alone in this experience.

I have an 80 Necro, fully geared. Generally he kicks kitten but for whatever reason, when I am downed, I have NO hitpoints! I literally get hit 3-4 time by an auto attack and I’ve been finished!

Is this working as intended? Or is something horribly bugged with my character?

I know my guild is pretty excited about the guild missions! But you know what would be even better? WvW Guild missions!

Not really a complicated concept, but I think it could add a lot of flavor to WvW that has been sorely lacking since the Orbs were removed and never reimplemented.

Essentially, a guild initiates a WvW mission. The mission: to take an objective held by an enemy server. All servers can participate. The invaders get a chest for completing the mission and downing the lord, and the defenders also earn a chest if they defend for long enough. This could really add some incentive in WvW to taking and defending objectives!

Obviously there are some additional nuances to these missions and how to implement it. However, it shouldn’t be too hard to add in! The code is essentially already there for the PvE side of things; just adapt it to WvW.

Borlis Pass cracks me up.. Trying a new build on one of my characters, and every fight is either 2v1, 3v1, or 10+v1. They laugh, or goad as if they’ve done something. That’s one thing I respect from NSP is that they always challenge people to 1v1s, and we always show each other respect. Borlis Pass never runs solo, and they never show respect.

I think we just had more commanders, and good ones, than normal out in the field Thursday, tbh. At least this Thursday. I was running around AR BL with 12-15 people tops for most of the night.

The problem for AR is that they only existed in 2 zones – their BL and in EB. It’s pretty easy for us to focus solely on them. This also gives NSP a big opening to hit AR since now they have to fight against two servers instead of one. AR also consistently take the early leads and holds onto them for most of the week. Personally, I will always attack the server in the lead in any way I can. (If BP is in the lead, I don’t play much!). Being in the lead paints a huge target on your back.Thus AR is very vulnerable.

With persistence we were able to hold onto objectives in AR BL and keep stuff downgraded and the Hills keep’s supply bare. We threw all our forces at EB while a much smaller force distracted sizable amounts of AR in their BL – we had probably 20-30 AR attacking our sole tower possession in their zone at Lake Tower; meanwhile, we we’re hitting their Keep in EB with our main forces. We traded a tower for their entire corner in EB. After flipping everything in EB, and them trying to take their Keep back, our forces all came to their BL and we were able to take the Hills and hold it for the remainder of the night. Since their EB keep was wood, we were able to take that back too.

I can’t speak to how many numbers we had on – we may have very well had more people on due to the success we were having and the thrill of that last ditch push – but I think it could be fair to say that we did have some superior strategic positioning: We kept you on the defensive and forced you to split your forces. Through persistence, not numbers, we held many AR defenders in their own BL allowing us to have an advantage in EB.

All-in-all though, it was a lot of fun fighting it out last night. Tiring. But fun. This is how the game should be, and I greatly enjoy nights like these.

Bp just hibernates all week till Thursday, then they have more energy then a sugar high-ed 6 year old and just roll over everybody. Would be nice if BP actually put effort in ALL WEEK not just the night before reset when there’s almost no resistance. But hey the way Anet has it setup a server can do nothing all week and just put 1 night of good work in to take the tier lead.

I mean it wasn’t like we did NOTHING all week! You had an early lead on us this week. We’ve been gaining points on you slowly every day. We were within 2k points last night. It wasn’t really anything organized either. Just a couple commanders working hard to get us some more points and demoralize AR a bit. If I did that every night of the week, I don’t think I’d be alive. Or employed. Kinda ridiculous to think any of us can put in that kind of time and effort into commanding 24/7 just to win a video game! Way too stressful.

WAR groups are harder to deal with as they all work well at ressing people that get downed not so much with ALS.

Unless ALS is rezzing Kodiak! I downed him and even stomped him 3 times during 1 fight, but 5 of them would stop whatever they were doing and revive him! Hilarious. Maybe you should save your revive for a better player? I think Kodiak can command from the ground, afterall

That being said, have never seen any Rangers in ALS worth mentioning…

This is a solo / small group warrior video. I spent almost the entire day messing around in Anvil Rock Borderlands earlier this week. For the earlier part of the day, I was a part of groups ranging from 1-3 members. At one point there were literally 2 BP players including myself in the zone. We were constantly outnumbered! But we persisted! Our camp takes helped keep our point total up, and AR’s down. Eventually we were able to flip some towers with some help; and at the end of the day, while commanding, we were able to take Hills and Garrison after wearing down AR all day.

A longer video than I’d like, but I had almost 3 hours of footage to comb through, so it was really hard narrowing alot of it down! (Not to mention all the fights I didn’t have the camera rolling… I remember one fight where I kept killing Kodiak over, and over, and over again since his zergies kept rezzing him!) I’ll probably try to make multiple shorter videos in the future

You [TWIN] guys were tough! I had a couple good fights with the Guardian out there I know. Though, to be honest, I think I probably died to you guys in the footage I had recorded more than I won! There were a couple long brawls, but I couldn’t include them cause they were too long

I think the only reason everyone is killing Kodiack ( known to us as Grimbeerd) is because he still has his shirt on. we all know that things get serious when his shirt is off. I’m actually surprise that it has been on even though reset.

I just enjoy killing people with commander tags on in general. I think my tab-targeting has an affinity for the buff or something! That, and I know who Kodiak is / can pick him out of a crowd, so it’s a little more fun that way. Plus! Free kills on all the people Rez’ing him!
