Any victory this week is hollow for any server and not just this tier… alot of servers wont be in the same state as they were just even a week ago… or have been for the last x amount of months. It will effect some servers more than others, and piken fall into that catergory.

Im not discrediting your effort, far from it, i stated you got momentum/dedication… and to come from third to first is more impressive than anything elona showed Piken during our last matchup… that is a compliment

sorry if you take what i say wrong way… but any server getting 10 points in primetime(it shouldnt happen)… months after the rankings have started to settle down you know shows that its a hollow match up because of Xmas dsiruption.

If you want me to explain that more… 4 maps… not sure the exact cap but probally room for 400+ players… and in the time when most people would usually be online… saying 300-400+ players cant cap more than 2 supply camps which is what one individual could do…

So when primetime is more skewed than night time is, even if its for one day (eitherway) totally discredits the end result imo, and it’s nobodies fault its just the way it is and can’t wait for full strength matchups to resume with little disruption (besides anet’s mandatory pve update 3 hours after reset of course)…

interesting to see what patch will bring in Feb, but have heard some negative things about it in the grapevine… fingers crossed it fixes wall jumping and other terrain exploits atleast… if not just lol.

As for TDA look forward to fighting you on bigger scale, although small scale was fun just we had alot of non guildies following our commander at that time so wasn’t even for the most part, you guys did well being a havoc squad, then Yak tried doing it afterwards and was less succesful

I got to say im pleasntly surprised, some decent replies from gandara players, i was starting to put you into the same catergory as elona when it comes to attitude towards other servers… with all the mud flinging and crazyness.

The momentum and morale plays a big part… piken was on a winning run from t8 to t3? we had alot of momentum… now though our WvW guilds in general are less active because its Xmas, some WvW guilds are still going strong and representing Well but still probally not as much as usual. Some of our WvW guilds wont be that active again till new year etc… I know piken is a very unique and different server to others, so it makes it impossible to judge. We do also get our own fair share of people who come out when we are winning etc (which is annoying when it forms ques and then there not to be seen when they are needed when times are tough)

I think gandara vs riverside or kodash would be interesting, like it would be against the real piken, but if i was a betting man, i would still put my money on riverside and kodash… these guys are very battle hardened, their use to fighting bigger servers with more coverage, their tactics and organiastion is one of the best (it has to be) and their spirit is also very impressive… Piken beat riverside, but it took two weeks of farming them and even then it was close on score, they do not give a inch… Kodash we havent beaten but have given many good battles, they might not have the same numbers as some servers above them, but they make up with it by their superior organisation…

Those two german servers taught us things, when we fought elona last week didnt learn anything, it was just numbers, constant numbers… now i see they are destroying T2… probally because of same reason… if they had the organisation of kodash and spirit of riverside, they would probally be number 1 server in the world.

There is a big possibility, we will be fighting each other again next week, still with xmas and new years hang over… maybe Abbadon’s or Aurora glade have something to say about that…

Hard for me to take you serious if you suggest Piken as more off peak, and night time players in particular though, that is usually time im around and we got the same thing from servers below us when we beat them like Jade sea, despite them having double our pressence but poorly using their numbers in comparison.

Very hard to judge your server as a whole so far in this matchup, but you’ve been alot more impressive than Elona ever was… you guys was third, pulled it back then created a gap… even if its a tad hollow, opportunistic etc(call it whatever still counts) you have some dedication/momentum going. I just hope neither server slides out of the bracket one way or another before Piken recovers to its usual self. Gandara & Aurora glade are only servers we haven’t fought beside some of the big boys, I would like to find and fight guilds on gandara like I do against RSC & KOA on riverside and kodash respectively.

I would say the rankings are starting to even out, and these three servers are in same boat, a yo yo t3-t5 server. At full strength Piken is T3… only way for that to change is mass recruiting or server death (millers)… and from my experience T3 is where I would like to fight, but for more casualness T4 isn’t too bad either. I believe T1/T2 is just numbers(Zerg) and coverage… atleast in these brackets more room for stratergy and tactics like Kodash show.

Gandara are taking this match up pretty seriously, where AR & Piken not so much… you guy’s got promoted and have momentum… I know you will get destroyed in the next tier on score if not battles… Riverside, Kodash, or one of the big t2 servers will be different proposition for you… Piken is in hibernation at the moment and thats a fact, even with our low numbers we are not overwhelmed, yes everyone gets effected by Xmas, but piken more so due to roleplay community and already light numbers.

So i dont know if this is the “real gandara” pushing hard for a hollow victory… I mean AR had 10 points yesterday during primetime on their xmas… which says it all really. Too bad you wont get to fight elona’s zerg though… maybe the spanish horde that ive heard alot about instead

So if Piken drop another tier, or stay in this one im more than prepared for that, when everyone’s back after xmas you will see a different piken that is for sure then hopefully we get a rematch where no team has 10 points during primetime lol very skewed 3w.

really you consider that a exploit? I mean wall jumping, terrain exploits, to skip sieges etc yes thats a exploit… but ive seen so many people do the above, that i dont consider it exploiting… i consider it spawn, and your probally spawn camping too hard and just need to back off let them come out or die to invunerable foes… Ive seen big zergs even do it when they were getting their kitten handed to them by lesser numbers.

It’s not that hard to pull away a little bit, and it doesnt have huge effect on campaign… But if people want to already start flinging mud i can see what kind of week its going to be, even though its Xmas.

Choko… I must of been imaging all those fights this week against elona’s zerg and wiping them then… lol you are too funny. Yes I can imagine elona might of had some success with 60+ zerg vs like size of 10 guild parties… but when they come across size of a organised 20+ guild parties then im pretty sure elona would have alot less success even though it blobs

Score doesn’t tell the whole story in a match up like this. It only highlights the mass population difference and coverage

Piken plays different to other servers… we tend to stick away from zerging as much as possible… because its more challenging, but rarer times when we do work together in a fight about 12+ TUP and 20+ HOB wiped the biggest zerg 100+ ive seen todate on the same spot @ ruins on kodash bl the other night. That is a undisputable fact, just like 60+ elona on server reset got beat in the open by 20 TUP outside bay, and had to retreat inside

There are plenty of examples from my guild’s experience this week alone and we have been less active than usual, and im pretty kitten sure that the other guilds like VII, Hob and many more guilds will have their own versions of epic fights like that.

That outmanned buff that was on my screen when we killed your zerg must of been broke eh? my favourite wipe of elona though, has to be the north east tower on kodash bl late one night… because both of our daily commanders online was in a different channel to our troops at the time talking to another commander, it was the time in the match up that Elona look fixated on putting kodash down and ignoring piken… but we don’t want free hand outs, we want fights and haha went and got one. We dont expect to win those kinds of fights but if you dont try you dont know see what happens

I’d like to add ive worked closely with CMG many times, and I can assure you they don’t exploit… the capping times would be totally different if they did… i.e taking fully upgraded keep in 5 mins… instead of our usual grind it down.

Our next matchup will feel weird in comparison to this, with it being xmas and having to deal with servers that not often will give us outmanned buff

Looking forward to fighting kodash and KOA in particular again… KOA and RSC are the only guild groups so far that ive noticed in and around these Tiers. I still dont know one guild name from elona by end of week…

Yes because one or two people might have dubious behaviour… means thousands of players on said server are all dirty hackers… From my experience so far the higher the tier the more likely people are exploiting.

Alot of accusations get thrown around way too easy… some of them are true alot are misinformed. Plenty of people don’t run proper sweeps, get ninja’d then automatically QQ hacks. Don’t try tarnish people’s reputation without any proof. If you see someone exploiting, report it to anet, or other sides commanders… but be aware you can’t control a minority who choose to spoil game until its fixed, like i know some of Piken’s opposing servers have been exploiting… does that make them all dirty exploiters? no it doesn’t… atleast orbs are gone so it makes less of a impact.

Every Server has same problem, some more than others… dont throw stones in glasshouses guys. The majority dislike hackers for and against regardless of what server your from. Its alot harder to notice a ally exploiting than a enemy, as your watching enemy alot more closely, so bear in mind when your throwing all this dirt at a entire server for a couple of people’s actions… its looking like alot of sour grapes & QQ from dying.

True piken players do not need to cheat… our WvW guilds do not exploit, only a handful of people have dubious behaviour which are probally passing by transfers… comparing population size I can honestly say Piken doesnt have more dubious kinds of players than any other servers. So grow up and stop the mud flinging…

Stealth this… portal that, so much qq and class envy amongst all the classes, i hope the developers pay no attention to all the tears from people who cant handle pvp and have learn to play issues.

Every class as good points and weakness’s… the main difference between players is not “class balance issues” its skill level imbalance. If people are not 80 with junk gear and expecting to win then they are noobs. If you are 80 and still lose 6 vs 2… then you should spvp alot more to improve your individual skill level let alone teams…

If 6 lose to 2, then your teamwork is terrible compared to the two working together.

So tired of all the whine, when compared to other games, the class balance in gw2 is very good… Stealth isnt what it was in beta (i can imagine the rage if it was lol) its been nerfed, can no longer stop caps… if you can’t lock down a thief and kill it before it stealths and runs away then thats your problem.

If your getting one shot by a thief then maybe you should change your gear, or learn to evade… glasscannon thiefs are so easy and one trick ponies, they miss their burst and get locked down = dead thief. One Aoe ability from a greatsword guardian can down a glasscannon thief… so one move from one guy… yet six cant beat two….

I play every class and have 5 80’s… with 40,000 + kills, some classes im fairly good on, other classes I suck at, because im less experienced on them or just dont get them like the classes I prefer. Just because i suck at some classes, doesnt mean the class in general sucks, and others are overpowered… because ive seen good players play on the classes im newb at and there is no difference between them and my prefered classes.

So many easymoders QQing because they struggle to learn and adapt… feel sorry for next generation of gamers.

It looks like i might of hit a nerve by refering to elona as just numbers and zerg… sorry I only tell it like i see it from my own experience. I dont mind i enjoy fighting you guys, i dont expect for my server to win on score against that, but i expect plenty of epic fights, as only way to test yourself is against more numbers as i dont see many guilds from elona…

I find wiping kodash zerg, even if its smaller than elona’s zerg harder, because kodash tend to use more stratergy and tactics. I enjoy fighting both though, each presents different kind of challenges.

As for Spvp… its too much point capping not enough about fights… very /yawn compared to WvW where generally point capping leads to epic fights… and plus spvp is handful of guild… compared to other scenario types of pvp and even gw1 the spvp in gw2 is a bit of fluff and lacklusture in comparison. WvW is where the fun’s at, when your enemy has more players and your backs are to the wall.

As for exploits, we look down on exploits for and against… I wish Anet policed/fixed it better… its almost to the point of giving up reporting them as earlier tonight one guy used terrain exploit to get into east keep in kodash and reporting for “exploiting” wasnt a option on the list… just botting/scamming etc. Exploits have been brought up at our Piken Square meetings in the past and dealt with, but not all of our WvW community follow same moral code when it comes to that… as with the ease of x-fers its out of our hands to police eitherside… hopefully anyone caught exploiting gets banned… Piken doesnt need to be cheap.

Thanks for the fights last night guys… too many great fights to list all, but lake tower in kodash with both walls broken, gate down… elona and npc commander one side, kodash the other and TUP in the middle fun fun also later on piken bl at garrison, when we were down to 9 or 10 players vs kodash not sure how many you had seemed like 40-50+ was sea of enemy to me. Was what WvW is all about and that spvp can’t provide. We were very determined to hold on to garrison, alot of back and forth fighting could of gone eitherway.

Elwin, could argue that T4 was way too much siege and not enough roaming like this… all be it huge zergs from elona because of population imbalance… but hey thats alot of loot bags and fun to be had. The only challange is numbers, elona bring alot of numbers… means fights are more epic when 20 man raid wipes 60+ in open to me it beats sitting on a treb hitting a fortified wall…

Kodash bring numbers too, but are more organised… atleast they had one decent guild in koa… i still havent recognised a guild from elona despite wiping their blob multiple times. So i know when we wipe kodash zerg its harder than elona’s even if it isnt as big (from bay to garrison in kodash the other night hehe very fun) then wiping elona’s blob @ ne tower when our usual commanders wasnt even leading.

Fighting Riverside & kodash, we learned things… still havent been taught anything by elona… I know there is huge rivalry between those servers, but for me… defination of better server is doing more with less. Its about efficency of manpower. Kodash are very well organised, Riverside have a crazy spirit… Elona have just numbers. For some other people defination of best might be size/activity.

Im not a big fan of easymoding/zerging but enjoy hunting it Server reset night told me all i needed to know about elona… Piken as almost fought every server now, so its nice to fight another new enemy.

With xmas approaching TUP hasn’t been as active as usual overdoing it… we look forward to a few more fights before the end of the week

lol liryc, you mis interpret, we are not a e-peen guild, it shows you dont understand unlikely’s nature… you should ask Sacrx he will be more in the know. We dont care about views, just saw someone saying that X couldnt be done and wanted proof that X could be done etc… so added into that, and showed X could be done, like many other people can do X. Video’s are for self, if others are even interested postively or negatively or not at all thats their choice, I just put in public domain like many others put Y video in public domain.

The majority of best fights are the ones day in, day out when fraps aint running, you get caught off guard by a zerg and still win, or the really long siege that could go eitherway.

This weeks results in almost every tier of match up’s has been pretty surprising…

What happend to blacktide? they seemed to dominate score last few weeks, now its all VIZ. Did certain guilds quit for such a huge turnaround? or Viz become more organised?

With SFR on the rise… blacktide have big fight on their hands tonight

Didn’t play that much tonight, as it was pve/x night, and had helped build up such a big lead, TUP was only in the field in very small scale numbers… i kept getting asked to join, eventually was just two of my guildies getting jumped by a bigger guild party of 5 or so FR players in piken… by time i got finished naffing about in pve land… couldnt find them in piken so went FR looking for them, took some camps had some small scale with them…then saw the germans was attacking bay with big flags going off, so perfect time to take back lake with just one ram.

As match up is pretty much won, it was all about the fun left to be had… so 3 of us decided to go and inspect this german assault on bay… we got in the south saw 3 cata’s being built… pulled in and skirmished, killed or made german overextenders run away. My two guildies died, i went on outer wall, shooting down at cata’s… germans took exception to this sent alot to deal with me, i jumped over to the rock in the east, shot the cata’s some more from there, again they took exception and sent a party of 6+ to hunt me down…

With all the distraction, it gave french time to home their siege on the cata’s location.
With no where left to go, i jumped in the water and swam around this time being chased by french defenders haha… my guild mates by this time had respawned and run back to join me… we regrouped at the pier in bay… this is where we noticed similar tags to who we had been fighting earlier, was same guild group and others defending for FR.

We decided to get our roleplay on and started emoting to the french… we then decided to peacefully go on a fishing trip in bay… two asura sat down in fishing boat with a human. The French saw this, and one friendly french resident came out to inspect our fishing passes, then other french locals joined in our fishing trip. Im not sure how we managed to fit them all in our small boat, especially with the huge norn sat at the back. Everything was going well, then one riverside poacher came along and started shooting at us from above.

Our fishing party was not happy about this meanie, the total disregard for our lives and the boat. So we became a bunch of vigilantees seeking justice for fish everywhere, together my 3 man party and the french locals went looking for vengance. We stumbled upon the poacher near the top of some steps, and he wasn’t alone. He had brought some bandits with him that were destroying everything in sight. The local children and women weren’t safe… more importantly the fish were frightened. Something had to be done about this.

So together our fishing party from piken square and locals from fort ranik beat back the bandits from riverside and kicked them out of the french fishing area, we thought for good, but they kept throwing stones at the french homes. So we had to march together as one to put a end to that. The French locals seem pleased with our efforts, the mean bandits didnt seem too happy. There was plenty of cheering and saluteing from the locals for our brave act of kindness. The Fish was Save atlast Long live the fish

I dont think Piken will get to tier 2… we will see how tier 3 goes. I know we would like to fight RG sometime, with and against, we worked well when we were together. I personally would like to fight equal number guild groups more than just random huge culling zerg, in our current tier i dont really see enemy guild groups much, besides maybe one decent per a server, like Riverside community and kodasch alliance?

i’d also love to fight other guilds of piken someday in the future maybe not in WvW but if they ever implemented GvG

If we do come across you, we will turn sacrx into a moa and kill him and you can do same to dranul haha or better yet… they can both build a golem each and duel jaja

Kodash and Koa are pretty good but so is Riverside and RSC… Tbh i dont think we have expected to get as high as we likely to be and that alone is a achievement.

We will see how it goes and learn from it, we might surprise people, we might not have the same coverage, we could even get relegated two tiers… i dont mind either way, next week will be more relaxed from my perspective, we know we are the underdog and will try enjoy our battles (unless they make culling even worse ha) with Xmas coming things will start to be effected too.

Piken is still trying to find its natural postion… which to me could be t3-t5 due to numbers… the top four BT,VIZ,AS, SR have better numbers and coverage… then theres elona’s alot of numbers, barach alot of off peak, Desolation still pretty big in comparison, kodash bigger than us and more organised (collectively) So that pretty much means tier 2 is not what we are aiming for.

then you have millers, not sure their current situation they seem to have stalled their massive momentum, Riverside and piken are similar as the last two weeks showed. Then there is two servers below to keep a eye out for and that is gandara and auroa glade, two servers we havent fought yet but have recruited and reorganised. I would also include augury rock as they pushed us too but they seem to be declining slightly atm.

So thats a whole bunch of servers in and around where piken are and should be…. Piken is probally the hardest server to predict because of a few factors. Like i said we dont even know where we belong

I thought this week would go to the wire, Riverside you pushed us very hard… I don’t enjoy your defensive style as much as other servers, but i can respect it. I’d personally prefer more roaming battles, equal number or double… not just wait in towers and come out in big zerg but every server as their own style and must respect that even if its a tad tedious at times. You closed the gap to 6k at one point, you had the momentum and then piken countered in a big way and took all the momentum, some defining moments that night. If you focussed FR more maybe would of scored more who knows

FR have had a pretty free ride, most their points come from zero pressure at times, then fully upgraded and retaking them… they are very good vultures at times… although if they wanted second they should of put more pressure on you, In EB for example they always seemed to target piken, and when their bl was full they would target piken more than RS… that logic i dont get

I hope not all people in tier 1 are like same… I really hope your a poor troll and not serious…

I usually fight against the odds you mention and more often than not win… other guys might be low, randoms or just bad though but still head on can win vs numbers.

4 vs 20+ in the open is maybe one of the best in terms of numbers difference… (ne supply camp killing their siege + players) they was trebbing hills

9 vs 60+ in a keep defence (which is a bit different) was garrison lolz

and another one which was pretty good was when a mega zerg jumped my guild group on reset (was attacking lake gate) didnt even see them coming around the corner they hit us hard 40-60 vs 18 and only lost one guy.

Now all the above fights aint got any evidence as I dont run fraps, others in my guild sometimes run fraps, but the unexpected fights you dont really leave fraps on as you will fill up hard drive pretty fast. The fights mentioned was before culling got worse… but still killed mega blob with the latest culling issues just its alot harder for obvious reasons.

These below are for you same… and i know there’s plenty more proof and evidence of other guilds doing similar or even better odds all the time…

you sound like someone who spends all their time in eternal battlegrounds and only just discovered the outer borderlands… hope you enjoy mate

You guys play the game it was designed to be played, you do the things TUP would do when on the backfoot… you have alot of dedicated players defending and scouting for the realm.

Im not going to comment too much on pikens random friendlies… they are not all the same but… they really could learn a thing or two from you guys, its not like we come across many guild groups from german server either. It is a bit depressing seeing the headless chicken factor needing to be told what to do vs organised germans its such a contrast.

Im not sure why there is a difference, people are either too cheap, lazy or niave… no investment in blueprints or upgrades in comparison as a realm to yours… it borders on the redicilous sometimes.

FR still getting a free ride and double team whoever when they can to be opportunist, usually feels like they target piken more too… Reminds me alot of some previous match ups.

For some reason the roleplay server is seen as biggest threat, where if FR played tactically smarter and focussed 2nd place more they would of caught you by now instead they letting you get away which is cringeworthy to me

Like its been said if your prime time guilds Piken Square doesnt want or need you… you won’t be welcomed, it will be just like the fairweather guilds which joined us awhile back… which is bad for our server…

however if your a Night time Guild or morning/day it doesnt clash with our community so you wont get hostile a reception and will be welcomed.

Yiishing or other Riverside players… is your server imploding because of Elona’s Mass recruiting to become huge german zerg server to compete with blacktide + Viz? (Dont turn this into thread slagging off elona if so… yes its bad to lose guilds to poachers and can kinda ruin servers) but despite the ranking you might find better WvW at lower tiers and less Zerg…

Or is your serving imploding because of the WvW issues? culling and such? maybe people with big interest at begining starting to get burnt out a bit? From what i see your still in a good shape compared to some servers below… I just hope you dont implode like some servers seem to after they lost to us, like Gunnars hold and maybe Far Shiverpeaks as some examples.

From what i see, you guys still put up a good fight as i expect and as for AR, yes we fought them before and so wanted to continue our love affair with them(they got more of our love) they pushed us very hard now they are gone… We dont know FR, we only know our friends from riverside(now its your turn for some more love from my point of view) But don’t worry we won’t forget about FR either, we play both strategic and fair they will get some love too i can assure you of that

nice to see this thread is open… but i would like to know why the other threads on german, and french forums get blocked for us talking to the enemy in english? its very Xenophobic IMO, that you cant have a civil chat with our enemies and devaules our community.

Is this how Anet want things to be? Its pretty sad imo, i thought game was suppose to be all about the “community” and the english/french/german speaking are all part of the same “WvW community” yet we are not allowed to talk to each other on their selective forums which seems like a own goal from ANET.

Do we really have to use google translate and butcher every language just to have a confused conversation which could be taken the wrong way with the enemy?

Im not a big fan of this Xenophobia… i’d rather it be inclusive rather than segregation, i dont want to disrespect a language with a translate program which doesnt work right.

That aside, good fights so far guys Fr got decent points despite not seeing many of them so far, and germans bringing the fight as always.

Catastrophin Our night time isnt “bad” just you have alot more numbers constantly because your a high pop server with nightcappers vs a med pop, and the servers above you have even more… if our night time is so bad explain why ive seen kodash’s night time get wiped over and over by lesser numbers never the other way around… weird eh? explain why kodash’s night time would hide in towers when they met any organised resistance who they still outmanned 2:1 minimum?

The difference is just numbers… look what happens during primetime when we have equal numbers… Your the first real organised server we have come across, although you could of scored alot more points if you focussed FSP more as ive barely seen them in PL BL + KD BL all week… Despite your numbers advantage and in turn upgrades + siege we give you a good fight…

only really noticed two guilds KOA + RUSH… Kodash without koa would crumble, Koa Decent organised big guild that seemed to be everywhere and the spearhead of anything kodash did.

Kodash its nice to see a server play the game for the realm, you and your supply camps lol.

FSP… your lucky that kodash allowed you to get as many points as you did by trying to pin the med pop server in their homelands good luck in your next match up guys was fun
