The pessimist in me is saying that anet will soon add nodes higher than Ori, rendering your new purchase obsolete.

The economist in me is saying that even though $10 might save you a lot of money over the next X amount of years, you will return more money by saving that $10 for X amount of years and then buying gems -> gold with it. GW2 is already in an inflationary period, chances are gems are a better investment long-term than the axe itself.

I just read the pick description and it says it has the ability to mine all metals. That would imply to me that a new metal would still be considered a metal. I think Anet would have a rebellion if they tried to change that after the fact.

You can mine any ore with any pick. You just get different… stuff…

And then, I have soloed Underground Facility (Turret|Ice Elemental, excluding start), whole Urban Battleground and start of Uncategorized (had to stop at Tom).
On level 10 with “zerker” Warrior.

Issue is probably somewhere else.

I use MSI Afterburner to record. I also make multiple clips to stay safe (allows removing bad parts fast).
But good job!

Not very useful. Enemies don’t hit that often.

In some cases it will work if enemy hits fast but you need to know those situations.

I would like to see Rabsovichs health lowered a lot and killing him would make all Dredge disappear. In return make his attacks stronger (like Shockwave would be tri-projectile like those Veteran Dredge Oscillators).
Point is that you could go in and kill it or use easier but longer method.

What about something like take X% of damage you dealt/healed? (condition damage makes it higher, stacks in duration)
Could also be applied to Retaliation.

Just a wild idea, I don’t really do WvW (in PvE everyone would be happy though).

And comparing autoattacks of a class relying heavily on minions with a class with zero minions.

I would say issue is that a class with a build with very poor defense (melee glass-cannon Warrior) can solo dungeons.

So if I’m on Heart of the Mists with 2004 Power I should be hitting 2k? Why do I hit just 1k?
Because we are talking about raw damage which doesn’t take in account target armor.

5% more damage is equal to 5% more power. With 1800 base power that 90 power.

However, with full Berserk my base Power is 2425 which can easily reach 3000 with Might-stacks. And that’s 150 Power.

Well that’s rather my point. It does come to equal 5% power if and only if you assume that every single other variable is exactly identical.

Also, even with that in mind, the straight comparison still isn’t quite fair. After all, it takes time to build up those stacks on Bloodlust. Not to mention that if you get downed, you lose them.

And finally, you could just put the Bloodlust sigil on your weapon swap and use the 5% one on the GS to get both effects.

And FYI, comparing the Fire sigil still isn’t going to be valid in any way, considering that the damage added from the Fire Sigil is strictly DPS and not DPH. Though all things considered, the long cooldown and the low proc rate aren’t looking good for it.

Not sure if following. If you get 5% more Power that increases damage by 5%. Other variables make no difference.
But yes, my point was that Force is better. Use Bloodlust or Perception to build up stacks at appropriate moments.

If you want to compare Sigil of Fire, check how much it hits and how often and compare it with your damage.
If Sigil of Fire hits X and procs every Y then you must do over 20X damage in Y seconds. IIRC it’s like 1.5k damage or less so you must do 30k damage in about 6 seconds.

Bloodlust is obviously the best regarding damage if you can maintain full stacks. So try it out, if you can’t seem to constantly maintain 10 or more at all times then Sigil of Force is the way to go. From memory I think my power stat was at 1,800 (don’t quote me on that, might be mixing it up with attack or w/e) so plus 5% is 90 power (kind of pathetic when you think about it.)

You’re misunderstanding the sigils. The +5% works the same way as the Berserker’s Power trait. It’s a 1.05 multiplier to your damage, not a +5% power boost.

5% more damage is equal to 5% more power. With 1800 base power that 90 power.

However, with full Berserk my base Power is 2425 which can easily reach 3000 with Might-stacks. And that’s 150 Power.

I honestly don’t care about details. I care about the overall tone, what message post delivers. In my opinion no one should call something “by far the best” if you they aren’t well experienced in the subject, no matter how many little cover up words they put there. And if someone uses such a strong word I expect they haven’t just tried few builds.
Now if he has only tried few builds he could have said “I have tried some builds and I really liked this one…”. But no, must put fancy works like “by far the best”. Well yeah, it caught my attention. Time to deal with it.

To put it simple, do you also think that 6 Veterans are harder to a zerker than Lupicus? (since enemy type wasn’t specified we are probably talking about Abominations)

Also I could nitpick about ”You said zerker beats Lupicus, yours can’t” but really, what’s the point?

Well, he claims its “by far the best pve build” and “the best dungeon build”. And used “can solo 6 veterans, zerkers cant” to back up his opinion.

In my opinion it’s quite natural that I pick his only argument. Purpose of my reply was to make him realize that it was a poor argument and that it is not really smart to say that zerkers can’t solo 6 Veterans when a zerker has soloed Lupicus.
If we assume Lupicus is harder to solo than 6 Veterans then naturally soloing Lupicus would also mean that a zerker can solo 6 Veterans. If a zerker can’t solo 6 Veterans then it’s harder than Lupicus which means “6 Veterans are tougher than Lupicus”.

Yeah, who am I kidding? 6 Veterans are definitely much tougher than Lupicus. Also in open-PvE you must all the time be able to kill 6 Veterans or something bad happens.

It’s not terribly hard to 4-man, or solo (ok first door).

Generally speaking, if you have 4 guys on your party you can actually go in and do the dungeon while waiting for fifth (further you get most likely someone wants get in for easy rewards).

You really should focus on what you put on your argument. If discussion is about fractal bosses then you shouldn’t talk about Subject Alpha or CoF. Honestly, seems like you are constantly trying to set up a straw-man argument. Intentional or not, it makes arguing with you bit annoying.

I would like to ask you one simple thing. Does your party full-melee Captain, Shaman or Dredge/Ice Elemental? For me, that sounds very nonviable meaning you need to have people at range and can’t have everyone at melee. If that’s not anti-melee, then what is?

I think warriors are highly overrated in any content that isnt cof1. And even there I started questioning them due to several reasons.

I don´t even want to take random warriors with me anymore because I found that a lot (not all) warriors make incredible mistakes… Mistakes… That are just…. incredible to do… They often rendered me speechles on how bad they were. Especially gs warriors… ugh!
Unfortunately most random (and some not random) warriors I played with are the ones lying nonstop in the dirt, gathering daisies. I think that part makes about 3/4 of all the warriors I met.
I´ve never encountered so many… player fails in any other class… Mesmer is my number 2 in the most-fails award but still far away from the warrior.
The other 1/4 are average. At least they dont die. They do what a warrior does. Sadly no more.
I have only met 1 warrior… ONE warrior from BWE1 until now… that I consider a skilled player.
And really?That´s kitten low. I saw more rangers and thieves that amazed the heck out of me in dungeons.

Now either I have too high expectations of the class, was an unlucky person because I only met bad warriors or they really got too used to their cof1.

long story short: Maybe they are the best class in cof1 and other faceroll dungeons but I found that most warrior players are extremely bad outside those dungeons.
Now is this an issue with the class or the playerbase?

I wish I could reach this level some day.

In my opinion it is anti-melee if we have melee as a high risk/high reward and ranged as low risk/medium reward.
Which is exactly case on some situations where melees need to constantly stay alert and be ready to dodge while ranged might not even have to dodge at all.

here you go, by far the best solo pve build for warrior i’ve ever used. also one of the best warrior builds for dungeons i’ve ever used.

zerker warriors can’t solo 6 risen veterans at once, this one can.

Solo Lupicus with that, then we can talk about soloing.

Is the game anti-rez because it stops you from rezzing people by dropping deadly aoe on top of them?

The two options carry inherent penalties. Melee does considerably more damage sustained and to more mobs than range, but has to undergo risk or threat of death to be balanced against range. If you’re able to just sit on a boss and with learned dodges achieve near 100% uptime, what’s the kitten point to going ranged?

Exactly, some bosses have anti-rez mechanics with big and strong AoEs. But I wouldn’t go as far as claim game anti-rez. Similarly some bosses have mechanics which are a lot more effective against melee-players.
I guess point of ranged is that everyone can win.

I don’t think warriors have perma vigor via vigor on crit traits like mesmer, guardian, or ele (and engineers can get easy vigor from toolbelt traitline plus elixir traitline).

What my warrior mate tries to do to mitigate this is he runs warhorn on secondary.

Warriors may need to back out more, but they deal in one ability or autoattack what it takes some classes two or three usages to deal in damage, so if their damage is going to be supremely better I don’t mind their uptime being lessened — they’ll just have to settle with using a rifle or longbow for a bit before jumping back in.

Melee with a guardian, ele, or mesmer — which are the classes I mostly play-- however, is very doable outside Mossman cheese. Mossman cheats everybody, though, just less if you are ranged.

That Agony was a l2p -issue. Went there solo and fixed my timing (bit unsure what Vigor has to do with my timing though).

Could you give some tips about Meteor Shower? What do I do when it covers entire melee-area?

You guys don’t even know how hard simin used to be. It basically required five full zerk players with impeccable timing and teamwork. Now it’s a cakewalk, huh? Shame. It devalues the Dungeon Master title enormously.

Not at all. How did you beat Simin? We failed repeatedly until we wore all zerk. I don’t remember it being easy at all. In fact, when I played her, you could not hit her while she was under stealth/regen…there used to be a bug where you could take advantage of that and hit her while she was stealthed. Her regen used to be so fast that one mistake with the sparks meant full reset. One tear too late meant no progress on her health bar.

He probably tells you something about a “necro in blue/green gear with 700 ach points”.

Basic set should be GS + Sword/Warhorn. You want that mobility when you move around.
Then if you know you are staying at one spot for a while you can change weapons.

It’s not really same thing. If you claim about soloing a boss that includes nothing about the rest of the dungeon. When you claim about soloing a dungeon that includes the whole deal.
Now in this case it may feel bit stupid because it’s obvious no one could do it. But in other cases it’s not that clear what should be considered a “full” solo. All this can be by-passed if we call everything solo and tell which parts were excluded.

@ Targuil, For Lupicus to cast his bubble less frequently you have to stay as close to him as possible without moving him around too much, then he will stop casting it, As you can see though in the video he will cast it as soon as he has the chance, multiple bubbles did kill me a lot of times I practiced so I had to master phase 3 to a point where he would only do one bubble at most which I had Flesh Wurm for, I also tried Stability Death Shroud but as you can see sometimes I need to tank hits with it and the 10sec cooldown is too long.

Better abuse this fast until they fix it. :P

It’s not a bug. It’s AI. Enemies act depending on your range and actions.
Lupicus is one of the few enemies who correspond with this.
