@ Targuil, For Lupicus to cast his bubble less frequently you have to stay as close to him as possible without moving him around too much, then he will stop casting it, As you can see though in the video he will cast it as soon as he has the chance, multiple bubbles did kill me a lot of times I practiced so I had to master phase 3 to a point where he would only do one bubble at most which I had Flesh Wurm for, I also tried Stability Death Shroud but as you can see sometimes I need to tank hits with it and the 10sec cooldown is too long.
Better abuse this fast until they fix it. :P
You did something wrong, it should have taken at least 2 hours (or so I have heard).
Good job!
It’s less about feeling and more about fact that life-steal food got a big nerf (even against single-target it’s like 33%-50% nerf).
Can’t say I didn’t get enough credit on that one
Anways, planning to upload Lupicus, too?
I expect you have done it both pre- and after-fix to be able to talk about it with such confidence.
So key-idea is to make AoE so overpowered that whole game revolves around it?
People zerg because that’s easy and it gives best personal rewards.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Barely. As Strife mentions in the comments, the nerf to reckless dodge means you need to switch frenzy for endure pain or w/e. Still totally doable.
Good luck with that tactic. With just Endure Pain I estimate less than 5% chance for success (with perfect play).
Fight is already quite taxing. With Reckless Dodge fix you have to save Shield Stance, can’t just reflex dodge everything and need more defensive utilities which make it slower which increases chance for mistakes.
Also food-change makes some difference.

Makes me wish I had time/motivation to level up toons :P
Wasn’t able to do CoF 2 on Warrior (as expected).
GWSCR.com is a nice site but in-game system would be much more smoother.
Entire screen and battlefield filled with AoE’s. Now, dodge.
I secretly want to be an Elementalist so I use Scholar Runes.
Similarly Froggy has 2 abilities.
You can t compare a minigame boss with 4 Attacks with ANY gw2 boss balanced around professions and stuff even with some sort of AI etc.
4 unique attacks is more than most bosses have. Count them up, you’ll see.
Kholer: Scorpion Wire, Dagger Storm, Heartseeker, Serpent’s Strike (Leap), Serpent’s Strike (Evade), Hornet Sting, Monarch’s Leap, Flanking Strike, Flanking Stab, spawns Silver-Ghosts.
Look like the projectiles travel in a sine wave pattern with decreasing peak toward the red circles as it final destinations. That means you could be hit anywhere if you can’t clear the lowest peak of the sine wave. At 0:28 frame, Weth was hit by a projectile intended for the circle behind him.
So the safest area probably are those circle gaps closest to Lupi because the projectiles originated from his hands will travel downward in a descending peak patterns.
Thanks for the video, Weth.
There’s one circle behind me. And there’s like 3 projectiles.
Step 3: realize that circles are actually missing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMnT_T5mAFQ).
When I was alone I never got hit outside of circle (about 30 Frenzied Blasts). With team of 3, pretty much every other attack.Nice video, I think this was my problem all along, but this clearly shows the broken attack.
lol to those calling it a learn to play problem, hate people that just resort to that, chances are if enough people have an issue, something’s broken.
And you uploaded this vid on the 12th of Feb, this year, do you know if it’s been a problem since release? They should really look into this >.<
Yeah, it’s been like that since release. I have reported it (along with few other bugs on that fight) few weeks ago and Robert said he passed info to testing team.

To clarify, ranged is not faceroll. Ranged attacks do less dps (longer fight) and they also have to dodge/kite or cc the mobs to do it otherwise they’re in melee too.
You never played ranged before or something?
My comment was aimed at people who told it’s not anti-melee but you have to either use ranged or start dodging/using utilities. At least for me this implicates that ranged wouldn’t need to dodge.
I don’t have much experience with chests so and it got me bit confused so I needed a clarification. At least on dungeons, ranged is so often much much easier/simpler than melee.
But thanks for clearing it up!
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Triple their damage.
So it’s not anti-melee but if you melee you need smart usage of utilities and dodges while ranged guys can just faceroll?
I guess that sounds about right.faceroll? My poor low level engineer would disagree with you. Every time the chess spawns enemies like for example snakes I’m dodging left and right because one hit equals half my health gone.
Have all classes here. 6/8 level 80s. Personally I found that the most movement requiring ones are elementalist and thief, warrior and guardian normally can take a hit.
Actually I was just asking for a clarification.
I like to think I was the first one who soloed Lupi. Makes me feel good.

I guess that sounds about right.
I agree with the original post also. We don’t need this in the game.
How about spending the time improving the boss fights and make things more random, instead of so scripted. Apparently that isn’t important.
My issue is how much resources they have spent for this (hours of content which has pretty much nothing to do with GW2).
Arcade-style arena would have been faster to create and expand, while still delivering the same message.I hate to repeat myself over and over on the forums. Really. But a very small team handled this, and Anet has many, many people and many different teams. The bug fix guys were still fixing bugs while this was being made. The balance guys were still balancing classes (or trying to). The texture mapping is so simple it would have probably only taken one texture map artist a very short time to make them. The environment is ridiculously simple and would have also taken one guy a very short amount of time. The AI and programming are simple. Making this dungeon would have been absolutely nothing to a tiny team used to dealing with a game as complex as GW2, and other teams were still working on the main game. I can’t fathom why people don’t understand this. They would not have had all of Arenanet in there working on this ridiculously simple April Fools’ dungeon. Stating “they should have been working on other things!” is no reason to hate on this dungeon, because it’s a moot point. They were working on other things.
Working on what other things? Do you actually have some solid information or just guessing? Do you happen to know how many dev-hours it took?
SAB is a one huge jumping puzzle. Do you really call that terrain “ridiculously simple”? If you compare to dungeons where terrain barely matters…
I admit I’m not a pro programmer but based on my experience stuff is often much harder to make than it seems.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Not all circles get drawn when you have multiple players (3 seemed to be enough).
Can’t you just zig-zag all arrows when at range?
I wouldn’t mind if it was bit less anti-melee (or more anti-ranged). As a ranged you can just keep zig-zagging, as a melee you need to constantly dodge lethal attacks.
Play any random crap and you can easily find it fun for few hours. Just saying.
My issue is how much resources they have spent for this (hours of content which has pretty much nothing to do with GW2).

I’m not big fan of jumping puzles but it’s kinda ok. On the other hand, I would rather see all this effort put into improving/enchancing/adding stuff to PvP.
Get your logic out of this topic.
There are different teams that program different things. Anet has a lot of devs all working on different stuff. Nothing is being taken away from PvP to do this update.
Something is being taken away from something, resources aren’t free. I appreciate their efforts and perhaps particular devs had some spare time but I would rather see dungeon improvements.
To be honest, I’m not really a fan of spending too much resources on temporary/weird stuff. Anyways, I would rather not to get too deep on this. It won’t really change a thing and I probably get buried with awkward responses.

I’m above average.
Shame this is not reddit so I won’t get huge downvotes.

Are you certain that “Vines are more likely to target ranged weapon users”? Based on my experience you have stay very close to prevent that attack. Ranged-users may just more naturally stay at higher range.
Are you certain that “Vevina using Chaos Storm on Laurent results in Retaliation”? Random would seem like more intuitive effect.
(Also bit wondering about how much your “extreme damage” but I will make a table with damage-ranges and return to that later)
Thanks for the info!
You forgot to mention that anyone willing to help should prepare some money for repair bills ;p
Oh, did I forget to mention about fund-raising campaign?

Any chance to get video?
I have been working on these for a while (http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?509046). Anyways, there’s only so much one (or two) man can do. There’s all kind of stuff I need help with so anyone with some free-time should be able to help. Either reply here, send me pm or contact in-game, anything is fine.
1) Most importantly if someone is familiar with wikis, adding all the stuff to wiki would be great.
2) Also I’m sure there’s people who know some dungeons much better than I do so reading through and giving additional tips would be appreciated. + some are quite inaccurate
3) Just reading through (especially people without previous experience) and pointing out what’s confusing/hard to understand helps me to refine them.
4) I just have Warrior so giving class-specific tips to encounters would be nice.
5) If someone cares about doing some research (finding out enemy abilities, effects, animations, all kinds of little stuff, damage is bit tricky though to keep it consistent).
I want three-handed weapons.
^^Easy there is no final chest on a path until that dungeon path is cleared. Flag set when no mobs remain, chest appears.
I can already see every pug clearing whole arah.
Poor Giants.
Many encounters have decent mechanics. Issue is that they are NOT doing enough damage (or enough threatening) so you can just ignore them.
I will self-advertise my text-guides (http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?244-Guild-Wars-2-PvE).
Most importantly, I have listed abilities of bosses and some enemies (accuracy varies on different paths, but I’m working on it!).
Constant weapon-swapping with one Sigil of Energy and using Burst-skills to restore Endurance are good ways to keep up dodging!
And don’t forget Frenzy was 5 seconds before, tooltip was just wrong.
Was a fun to skill to use in PvE. Now it’s so worthless it’s not even funny. I agree with Quickness-nerf (flawed mechanic) but we should have got something in-return.
I don’t really think it’s possible with anything other than Thief. I cut off so much time with all of the shadowsteps and still finished with 0:00 on the clock.
Have to try before claiming it impossible
Good job with FOTM-vids!
Stats you don’t utilize are simply wasted.
If you rarely die, all extra Vitality/Toughness is useless (or at least very ineffective). Same goes for Healing Power and Condition Damage.
If you can keep your health above 90% ~33% of time Scholars are the way to go (think about all the boring boss fights when you barely take any damage).
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Nice one! I guess I have to try on my Warrior but I really doubt.
I’m always getting carried.

I’m always getting carried.
Carrying yourself is not applicable, sorry.
Luckily I have figured yet another way to troll people.
