I really hope Inspector Kiel will yell at us something along the lines of " attack their weak point for massive damage! "
For those not getting the joke, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g1fr5vk72M

French players making jokes about french are thread gold.
Having a very good time with some of our commanders right now! T2 definitely more enjoyable then meeting 40 men trains everywhere you go.
Looks like we lack the coverage to stay in here though…
P.s. ignore hebril… he’s kind of…ugh… I don’t wanna even go there.
Actually Save Yourselves is OP in WvW. It should be nerfed to 50% just asin SPvP. This comes from someone who has invested 400h+ into a Guardian and runs a Pure of Voice + Soldier runes Guardian.
50%? Oh no no no no. It’s already 5 seconds in SPvP, nerfing it in WvWvW will not be any better since boons are our profession mechanic, more than what our virtues are.
I am the same but 1,200 hours invested into a Guardian.
I tell you what, if a skill is good at 50% efficiency ( many Guardians still run SY in SPvP ) how can it be balanced with double strenght? Sad to admit, but 10s of each boon minus stability + stunbreak + AoE condition cleanse (through runes and Pure of Voice ) on a 48s CD is a bit too much.
Don’t fret though, we’ll buff Hold the Line to compensate! Currently it gives 4s protection and 6s regeneration on a 35s cd. We could lower that to 30s!

FotM lv2? I duo dat thing.
Ermagards new opponents, excited to play some WvW!
Not like my thief can jump into a 30 man zerg first and always survive by daggerstorming with malice signet on.
your thief however can spam Cluster bombs poison and stealth to run away from the zerg .
Running away is NOT a positive…I don’t see why so many people think being only able to run from a zerg somehow translates to a good thing, while Guardians can tank through zergs with ease.
One is fighting and helping out their team. The other is trying not to die.
Guardians can “tank” a zerg for 4-5 seconds by popping back to back their and elite that make them invulnerable, +f3 2 times. After that they manage to die 1s slower than any other class with an equivalent build because when zerged only invulnerabilities save you.
My guard can last 1 minute plus alone ina zerg with a block/shut bunker build but I also know how to maximize evade
My necromancer can kill 20 players + your guild in under 5 seconds.
My lvl 2 thief can face tank your entire server with only a single pistol.
What these guys said is about how stupid you sound to me, frost.
I was joking…and so was the person I quoted… PLEASE tell me you didn’t take me for serious….
Moobs sounds mad cuz he ain’t pro enough
I’d like a video of some of your action just for educational purposes
Not doubting that you don’t have l33t skillz, just saying that if you don’t back up your posts you might look like someone talking from his behind

Running away IS a positive because arguing that having more mobility isn’t a positive is dumb.

LOL any class kiting competently will never die to a guardian.
Ouch. Stingy. 100 pages incoming soon.
Looks like a full exo set? Yeah, definitely.
Oh man I just terrorized a bunch of VS night cappers
Playing at night actually can be fun!
Each part of the Southsun story arc should require 5 man groups, so we can stop the whine.
I think we’re quite on a different… ehm… wave lenght? I’ll leave it at that. Good bye sir, have fun with your incoherent blabber and one-trick-pony builds.
But it’s a buff in PvE. And it’s not a nerf everytime you steal when not having full HP. It’s a nerf for the stupid basilisk + CnD + Steal + Backstab combo that kills you in 0.5s, which takes no skill to pull off and requires a deal more to counter.
Inb4 “l2p”, I play a tanky guardian and your combo ends up with you dead.

Rest of the patch is probably part of 14th update.
Oh boy those ZDs trains look scary as heck even for me
Synergy is more entertaining to me than sitting there having my auto attack do a rotation, and yes they have a built in rotation. It’s just less engaging.
Why do you feel pressing 1 button as opposed to 4 is more fun? Rotations like in WoW aren’t just 1234 either, it all depends on the situation you’re in what skills you use after. I don’t always have 4-5 finishers on my rogue up. It isn’t that simple, sometimes I go straight for burst and ignore increased attack speed and healing which are more for prolonged fights.
A fight that only requires you to do DPS will be boring no matter how many buttons you press to do that DPS If you find boring pressing 1 in GW2 I don’t know how would you find entertaining pressing Immolate -> Conflagrate as a destru warlock the whole freaking time, or doing anything as a moonkin. By keeping it simple we avoid cluttering up the screen and adding unnecessary complexity, while ideally mantaining the same depth.
If you are looking for sinergy, there’s plenty. It’s just not as “in your face” as in other games and not as needed for DPS.
And as someone who mainly plays PvP yes, I do find pressing 1 button instead of 4 to do DPS more entertaining as it allows me to focus on positioning, timing, enemy animations. You have to remember that GW2’s combat is way more action-oriented than WoW. I’m no Guitar hero fan.
Right click on their name, then on “report”.
At least we are all agree with that.
Actually, we are NOT all agree with that .
hilariously enough it is usually the best DPS as well.
DPS rotations are boring and unnecessary. They don’t add anything fun or engaging to the gameplay. Why do you feel that having 4 (filler) skills that have to be used in a particular order to be of any use?
Wiping repeatedly at the Champion Spider for “competent” players is impossible. I swear I could solo that thing, and there are videos out there showing an Engineer solo it, or a full lv 35 party running the whole dungeon.
Your raiding days are over, this is a new game and you have to adapt.
F&F story arc is ending but the mystery behind the alliance is yet to be revelead and will continue being expanded upon into the next patches. Lost shores is totally plot and lore devoid. Adding new areas it’s not a good idea when Southsun Cove was released completely devoid of events/vistas/pois. To this day, it’s still quite empty.
My server (SFR) conquers the temples all the time…
So you not liking the rewards (the gloves are pretty cool in my opinion) makes F&F automatically suck? I’m sorry but you have your opinion and I have mine, and mine is that F&F is (was?) an enjoyable piece of content.
So you think that melee and ranged are valid adjectives for GW2 classes? Don’t ask for something new if you haven’t explored what’s available now.
D/D elementalists, dagger necromancers and sword mesmers. There’s 3 “melee light armor” classes for you
While we are at it, healing power is much more valuable to a bunker guardian then tough/vitality, especially in a group setting and past a certain treshold of hp/armor. Now I don’t recall if an appropiate ascended item is available, but if there is you now know not to buy the offensive pvt one
Finally Anet officially acknowledges the bad (sorry, it is) implementation of MF. Thank you Colin and thank you OP.
Deso can rebuilt, but SFR is dead. Care to elaborate, or is it just a free jab? Really goes well together with your preaching about respect. And this comes from someone relevant ( I believe? ) in the grand cross alliance… oh well, guess the only player deserving respect is Troma, at least on these forums.
Oh and you and your guild better stick to the zerg as you’re the butt of all jokes for my guild, which boasts at best 15 players concurrently logged in and is not even wvw dedicated.
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
+1 to you good sir.
Even though the entrances get explodified, the facility is still the same. You don’t miss out on anything, it’s just a little touch from Arenanet to explain why the raiding keeps going for 10+ days.
I’m soooo getting those when they come out!
Regretting not having a character that uses shield right now, that blinking eye on it is soo cool!Sadly the only shield using profession with skills that are worth using are warrior. Guardian has better shield skills on focus, and the less i say about engineer the better…
Totally disagree. Guardian’s shield skills are good, they just aren’t self-centered like the focus is. And Engineer’s shield skills are probably two of the most nicely designed skills in the game, see “Engineer Shield appretiation thread from beta”
Sorry for the off-topic. New skins look good, will probably get some of them unless they are in a stupid box.
42 here, avoiding glitches or players that want to glitch all the time.
Dredges do give me a really hard time though, I’m a freaking tanky guardian using everything I have to survive and they always kill me 3 seconds in when standing on the freaking buttons.
I think Angelyne made the point.
The main difference between Vizu and especially SFR but also Deso is:
Respect
Respect for the own player as well as respect for the opposing players.
Something really rare in forum posts of SFR-players.
Each server has 500+ active wvw players, you think you can judge a server’s community by posts made by 1% of the playerbase?
While we’re at it, can you state your business in here? I don’t want to resort to calling the Marshal, but I don’t like strangers in mah town
Oh please do me a favor and stop acting like you can school people. Since you talk like you know every little facet of SFR internally, here I go talking about your server like it’s absolute truth: Vizunah wins because of numbers and good use of turtling, end of the story. See what happened 1 month ago when we actually matched you in numbers and outclassed you in quality ( mostly guilds vs mostly pugs ). Where was your uber flanking strat?
Write all you want we’ve been fighting you for 2+ months now and we know how it goes on the battlefield. Vizunah with 3 separate groups in the same map? Yeah whatever.
P.s. Necromancers actually do have the ability to swap weapons. You might want to look into that
(edited by Wolfheart.1938)
Pfff, you console peasant.
Are you interested in SPvP or WvW? Or both? You don’t need to level up/farm for gear to do SPvP ( everyone is given max level and PvP-only max stats gear ) so you can just try a class for a few days and reroll if you don’t like it. That’s how awesome GW2 is.
For WvW I’d suggest you get to level 40 at least first. You get upscaled to level 80 anyways, but you’ll be a pushover to any lv 80 not pressing random buttons.
That being said, classes here are extremely versatile: a guardian, GW2’s most support-oriented class, still packs a punch if built accordingly. A ranger, a class that one would assume is a long-ranged but fragile damage dealer, can be built to be very tanky and proficient in melee range. I’d suggest a Warrior for you, as it’s straightforward and deals top-notch damage both melee and ranged, but they are regarded as one of the weakest classes for SPvP. Your call.
Very fun dungeon, shame that’s temporary. Very entertaining fights with the bosses, although the “rescue the prisoners” section was a bit too long for my taste. Just 4-manned it ( guardian ranger thief thief, all lv80 with max equip ) and the difficulty was just about right for my taste and for a temporary story dungeon. Fun lines from the dredngineer!
Rewards a bit underwhelming, especially with the halved completion reward. Why is that? It’s not like the dungeon can be cleared really fast.
All in all a good experience. Not astonishing but definitely better than the average dungeon! 7.5/10
As I just posted in another thread : I don’t think Anet is going to add any underwater combat ‘till they address the many problems it has. Severe lack of skills/build options, lack of stomps, huge unbalances, resurfacing when downed has no advantage to it but it’s instead a bad idea… and I could go on…
Hopefully an inclusion of more underwater content.
But more likely more living story nonesense and more shirts in the gem store.
Hopefully the same release includes much needed fixes to underwater combat which is hugely underdeveloped as it is. First let’s add combo fields and finishers, open more utilities/elites to underwater usage, balance here and there where needed, add a freaking underwater stomp or something, etc etc…
Same here. Did I read right or are you someone who plays a “few days a month” and wants to increase the time it takes to get a legendary? Did you say you want them to have better stats because players who own legendaries are “better”?
Honest questions here, I’m quite confused. Brb re-reading what you wrote.
@ OP:
Just popping since I read that you consider armor design a weak point of GW2. Here you can preview most of the armors available in game, so check it out and see if your opinion changes
Most of it though is only available through specific means (crafting, karma vendors, dungeons), so you are totally right when you say that there’s close to no variety as far as dropped armors goes.
Dagger main hand is pretty good as far as dps goes. It also generates a lot of life force so you’ll be often popping death shroud with a green bar full of painful Life Blasts. Well of Suffering and death shroud 4th skill will take care of the AoE part. For stats prioritize berserker. Axe/focus makes for a good burst combo, while both warhorn and dagger are nice offhands to have when going close range with dagger main hand
You won’t be killing things as fast as a warrior can, and as stated above you will lack AoE when the well is on cd, but it’s certainly good dps and kills things way faster than any staff build could
one suggestion I have: have 8 random ways to earn points toward your daily. when you get 100 points, you completed the daily and get those rewards. The difference between that and now is that it’d be possible to gather 100 things to complete daily. or kill 25 vets. or do 5 dungeons. or 2 dungeons and 60 gatherings. There is no cap on any of them (but after you complete the daily, you stop getting achievement points for them). It allows for more freedom with what you do to get it. still a chore, but more likely to actually complete in your normal course of playing.
That is actually a great suggestion! Would make dailies easier/faster to do but I see nothing wrong with that! When some of my friends log for less than 1h most of their playtime is focused on getting it done
You’re going to stop dodging? And killing things? And gathering? What, exactly, are you going to do when you log on?
i’m not going to… cause it was pretty much the only reason i have been. besides the living story dungeon yesterday.
So this is an hidden farewell thread? Byebye. Hope you find a game that better suits you.
I can reach it solo and quite easily on my guardian…Then again I’m maxed out as far as gear goes so it might be that. In any case, just add me to your friend list and I’ll be glad to escort you there.
P.s. Vines are one of many environmental effects that happen near statues of the Gods when you don’t control their relative temples. Just stay away from statues or wait for the temples to be conquered.
P.p.s. Do you dodge?

Monthlies…. really???
I bet you can’t avoid doing it unless you actively avoid its requirements.
