I was using Axe-Axe/Hammer on structured just a few weeks ago and honestly find it as effective or more effective then GS/Hammer.

What I think makes Axe/Axe nice is that Whirling axe can hit almost as hard as hundred blades, with out stunning you in place. While whirling axe is designed for AoE, I found it rather effective against single targets and very effective against turret engineers.

Plus the vulnerability from main hand axe is nice and the adrenaline attack is pretty powerful still.

Add that with the control of the hammer and you can put a lot of people off guard.

Why not just make is completely random, the person can become any number of creature/mob.

That would be great!

I am sorry, mostly viable for roaming WvW which I also hope means viable for sPvP

So I came back from a pretty long break.

I am currently speced condi pistol/pistol elixir build with Carrion gear. Which doesn’t seem as viable is it once was.

However it seems like most people play rifle these days, that is all good and all, but I don’t like rifles.

So I was wondering if there is an viable pistol/pistol, bomb/nade build something other then rifle main hand build out there.

Anyone got any suggestions for a crazy Asura engineer like myself?

I honestly can’t believe they tried this again after the HUGE mess the Halloween event made.

Honestly at this point most people should know better, if we stop buying keys and chest – they will stop making them and maybe do oh I DON’T know…

Add a quest line in game to obtain a single ticket to turn in for a single weapon skins…WHAT a novel idea…

They should just sell the skins, for a flaw price of 10 bucks aka 800 Gems, I mean seriously get rid of the Black Lion Chest….really they are horrible and frankly I wised up on them during the Halloween event.

I like all three, personally really like the Heavy armor and want it for my Norn Warrior. hehe.

Please make the Cultist Hammer from the Fractal dungeon craft-able. The model is so beautiful that is really needs to be a mystic forge recipe!

Maybe I am an odd person.

But why does the gear need to have better stats to feel like you have progress?

Wouldn’t a new cool looking set of armor with the same stats still give you something to work towards?

Wouldn’t new back pieces that look cool still be something to work towards?

Wouldn’t killing new harder bosses and completing new dungeons be something to work towards?

Wouldn’t new dynamic events and quest be something to work towards?

Wouldn’t exploring the new map be something to work towards?

Wouldn’t doing new jump challenges be something to work towards?

So If that is all added in…why do you feel the need for “better” gear?
Are you playing the game for the fun or for the gear?

They didn’t say it was going to be from chest, so maybe you can just actually buy the skins from the gem store?

I am down for Two Handed Axes,

For a class I’d like Monk also – yet make it a support class not really a healer. Yet retain gw1 monks by giving their damage based on smites and can even make them a bit kung-fuey!

Not sure if this has been posted – but it is a bit of an annoying bug.

So if you use the Warriors down ability that allows you to get up for awhile and “die” before it goes off and get back up you will die again. So you die twice.

This really needs to be fixed, since it doesn’t happen allot but happens enough.

Ascended gear is optional, do you want it or not? the stat difference is so small it doesn’t even matter if you’re a skilled player. I can kill a guy in exotic with rare gear or in masterwork.

People really need to stop using “it is optional” argument, of course it is optional, playing the game is optional, eating a sandwich instead of a slice of pizza is optional.

Yet look how players treat each other – a good example is Arah dungeon.

Most groups who know what they are doing do not want other players who have never been, even some groups ask to see your gear or if you have shards.

Now lets say someone wants to do the new dungeons and the future dungeons that require the “new” gear. How many people are going to be willing to take this person?

New dungeons – good
New item models/art – good
New map – good
New mechanic and powerful items – not good

Just my opinion of course.

Grun this was sorta how Infused armor worked in gw2 – you took an existing set of armor and basically “blessed” it. So you would take less damage from certain mobs.

Over all I like that idea heck of allot more then a new set of gear. So you do the dungeon get cool new looking armor and a seal that applies infusion onto any type of armor you want. ect ect

Aye you do, but we all thought Exotic was it, after that it was all about looks. Yet just 2 months in we already getting a new “tier”

How long till people hit that “Wall” again.

I for one have been playing GW2 straight since release, have not gotten bored once. Seriously those who are bored probably the ones who rushed to 80, rushed to exotic rushed to Legendary. Probably didn’t take the time to sit back and relax.

I keep seeing people says. “New gear is needed only for the new dungeon” ect. You guys also are forgetting, the gear will also be needed for “Future” dungeons.

I don’t see many new dungeons after this one going back to the standard way. In other words it is my opinion that Ascended gear will be needed for future expansions and content updates.

The OP has good points, not many people have a legendary weapon, also there are lots of people who still just starting the dungeons that are already in the game.

I think what really is throwing people off is that the game hasn’t been out nearly “long” enough for a new “tier” of items.

Well I wanted to wait and see what Anet officially said on this and I can’t say I am happy with the direction they are taking.

I loved how exotic armor and weapons were the best you could get, it made it ok for me not to feel like I need to waste all my time and money to get a Legendary weapon which I honestly do not see myself ever getting.

It made me feel good to know I didn’t have to be hard-core to be on par with hard-core players. I said let them have their Legendary weapons good for them!

But now…they are upping the stats on things, as well as Legendary weapons….I dunno what to say just not happy.

All the races do that, my human warrior shes always like “You know sometimes I think I am just awesome”

While I would love to see more voice options for each race.

You guys are missing one big thing – The story lines and lines, hours and hours of voice acting, recording,editing all must be done.

Also you can’t just take the human voice and put it on the norn for the same reason. They are recorded specifically for the human stories.

So if Anet is willing to hiring more voice actors then sure, it be great to have voice type options.

However I do not think they will.

Yet my two cents on the voice, the Norn female voice fits perfectly for them.

I would love a in-game barber, in which you pay silver to change your hair color and style.

I believe they are coming out with a character redesign item for Gems, but really want a barber for in-game cash.

No offense I don’t really want to see a bunch of people running around wearing sun-glasses.

Barber: An in world NPC who uses in-game currency to change your hair color and hair style

Potion of Change: Allows change of any appearance options – body type, hair, face, skin ect
Potion of Morph: Allows Sex change and Appearance options.

and maybe – I thought I saw some where they said they are not going too.
Potion of Race: Allows Race change and Appearance options.

I like the idea that they are looking into Legendary Weapons. However as someone stated above I’d much rather see Legendaries be attainable through a large quest chain, and less through gold/farming and crafting.

The current state makes it impossible for some people to ever get one, and that has nothing to do with it being “too” hard. It certainly will not “ruin” the game.

I honestly think most who are complaining are afraid “they” will no longer be as “unique”. But come on people, it is a video game and everyone deserves a chance at experiencing all of the content of the game.

I am sure the developers want that!

So relax – no one is taking away your Legendary – yes more people will most likely have them, and yes they will be more “common”. Yet give Anet time I am sure they will add many many more cool unique Legendaries and none Legendaries.

So stop complaining about something good, and go back to enjoying the game.

Actually no again, I never said “I cannot tell the difference”. I said in my first post I’ve had people think my Asura was a male. Why, because heavy armor looks the same on both male and female., and most do not know the small differences.

And some how that turned into me only being able to tell male and female asura if female asuras had boobs as you posted. So no you clearly did not read what I wrote.

Also if there was no gender difference in their clothing, then why do they wear different undergarments, have different hair styles? There is evidence there to say that male and female Asura do in-fact have different taste. Like other races.

So again read people’s post…don’t just assume things.

As for mistaking a gender for the other, while I don’t understand why being able to tell someone’s gender seem sooooo important for some people, I really have no problem to tell asura females from males. Maybe it’s my artistic background (I have a good memory of shapes) or maybe it’s me spending so much time on character creation that I pretty much recognize every single preset in the game. Even without that the size of the ears makes any mistake almost impossible, especially when it’s so easy to spot.

If you can’t tell gender, then what is the point of having male and female models?

can you really only tell a male asura from a female asura through boobs? how do you handle charr then?

the asura race doesn’t have a culture that differentiates gender. they even look somewhat similar, like you pointed out. a female asura would dress just like a male asura would, and that’s why she does. you’ll never see an asura in a skirt, if that’s what you’re wondering.

I am sorry if this sounds rude, but if you actually took the time to read my post. You would have realized the follower.

1) I like how the Asura look currently and by no means support giving female asura boobs.
2) I would like to see a variation in male and female Asura armor specifically in the plate-mail department, to help increase diversity among the two genders.

I think any writer or story or even game developer struggles and strives to bring an emotional connection to their work.

I found myself yesterday spending 10 mins throwing water on a whale, hoping it would be some kind of hidden event and that the whale would be pushed back into the water and be saved.

IMO it should be this

1) Increase ways of getting Lodestones
2) Find a way to make 90% of crafting supplies worth selling on the auction house
3) Redesign Commander title, should be earned in WvWvW – refund those who “bought” it. Also make it only visible in WvWvW!
4) Increase in better loot off champions/bosses and dungeon chest

No mounts please, I don’t need that kinda of money sink.

I’d rather them either.

1) Make way points free (like they should be)
or
2) Make the price of a way point half off if you discover the whole map in that area.

I am going to have to agree since I accidentally kicked a friend from the guild the other night doing this.

It did not even give me a warning.

The commander icon should ONLY show up in WvWvW
The commander icon should ONLY be rewarded for doing something with in WvWvW.

It should not be purchasable through gold. They should refund everyone who has a commander icon currently and redesign the system.

The current system is completely asinine.

What I’d rather see then Asura boobs, is maybe make the armor look “slightly” different on the female Asura, and I don’t mean chain mail bikinis.

I count count the time my Asura warrior has been mistaken for a male asura based on the fact that the armor looks exactly the same on the male asura.

I blame alot of this also on the lack of hair options for male and female asura.

The drop rate for lodestones off of mobs is….dreadfully low, the rate in which you can get them in “specific” dungeons is low, not to mention finding people to do some of these dungeons is a chore.

I would like to see Lodestones/cores/shards ect be added to the list of things you “could” possibly salvage from rare and salvageable trophy items.

For example:
Norn weapons could have a chance of Glacial
Asura could have charged
ect ect.

This could lower the price of lodestones as well as increase the price of rare items.

I really, don’t want them to go down the path of better gear, higher lvl, better gear, higher lvl ect ect

GW1 had a max level, and all the gear was for “looks” same with weapons. It lasted for years and did very well.

So were are those cloaks?

Well I know if there was an In game hair style, my characters hair styles would change on a daily bases.

Plus it is a money sink I don’t mind doing from time to time.

Ok, so I crafted a Stygian blade the other day and must say I feel a bit down, don’t get me wrong the visual model and texture is fantastic and I love it.

However I was disappointed that, there was no special effects.

The eye does not move or blink, no red aura emitting from the blade. I am also not saying I want it to be as flashy and cool as a legendary. But really would like something

So how about it Anet, how about a nice little effect for some of the “lesser” loved mystic forge weapons!?

Also anyone else have a mystic forge weapon they wish had some “special effects”?

In Game NPC: Changes hair style and hair color. Which you pay for with in game currency.

Black lion:
Elixir of Change: Allows you to change skin color,hair color, facial features,body type.
Elixir of Gender: Same as make over but also changes gender of character.

Since I’d rather think it be nice to be able to change your hair color and style with out having to pay for gems.

Pretty crazy, I’ll tell you that. I not really sure how anyone finds the time or money to do theses

I myself I am working on what I call a mini “legend” basically a unique exotic. If I am lucky I’ll get in done with in three or so months….

Really does no one else feel that these lodestones and rare materials are a bit “too” rare?

It just seems like Champions and above lvl monster should have a better chance of dropping. Out of all the dungeons I’ve done I’ve only seen 1 “core” drop.

Also how come we cannot rarely salvage these lodestones as well?…hmm sorry I am rambling.

Ok so after seeing the Frost Bow being crafted, and we seen Volcanus as well as the guardian hammer/great swords.

I was wondering has anyone attempted this.

1 Scroll, 250 Orichalium Hammer Heads, 100 Mystic Coins and a Gift of Lightning – to see if it crafts the Lightning Hammer.

This is just a theory of mine – since out of all the weapon skins out there – I really want to craft the Lightning hammer.
