I notice it appearing to ‘turn on and off’ alot. I mean, there are times when I seem to be running really slow. It’s almost as if the signet doesn’t work while in combat all of the time. I notice this without having any debuffs or anything on me at all, while running along side someone who has no run speed increases activated.

Does nothing for me but waste a slot for better stats. The developers are responsible for magic find and its choice to be implemented and the failed game mechanic that encourages bots and farmers/gold sellers.

Wrong. MF doesn’t encourage bots and gold farmers. People who give them money do.

…most of them haven’t put in the time of effort to make a viable WvW build to switch to out of from their PvE gears. And it’s not surprising as it can take a lot of time and gold to make a secondary set.

I really believe it’s mostly the pain in the butt it is to recreate the builds as often as they are needed for the different things we do. Now, for the life of me, I really can’t understand how something was not only implemented at release, but still isn’t — as saving your builds for quick changes. I’m baffled at the lack of common sense some game developers have sometimes.

Just my opinion here, but all of these changes that have to be made to fight a different class is further proof this class needs further refinement. I’m glad you have the patience and micromanagement in order to pull it off enough of to have fun.

Better yet, stealth needs to be completely removed from the game. It’s pure crappiness how someone taking so much damage can simply stealth to freedom every few seconds, if not sooner.

if not removed, it definitely should not be allowed to be used if a dot is on the character. Do what every other class has to do, heal through it or remove the condition.

Also, anyone shooting a bow other than a ranger, should do squat for damage and should not be able to shoot the thing like a freakin’ machine gun.

Ok i will do what others classes do:
- i will equip heavy armor
- i will buf my health to 30k
- i will use death shroud
- i will summon illusions
- i will equip shield
- i will use mass pushes, knockdowns and knockbacks

No one class does all of that. I know you are aware of that, just thought I would point it out again.

Regardless, none of those abilities you mentioned is a get out a trouble to run and hide to stay alive and to completely remove yourself from the fight.

If you are having trouble staying alive wearing better armor than casters, who by the way always seem to be up in the face of melee, then I would recommend finding a different build. I have not only seen countless videos of them doing so, I have witnessed it first hand.

I do not run MF gear, can handle all those mobs and kill them in half the time you do.
Now where does your argument go?

My comments were an example for something to think about is all, not an argument – but could be.

To your statement, I highly doubt it.

To your question, if speed was a concern, then play an FPS and not an MMO.

I love to wear a full set of MF gear while farming Karma. I wouldn’t want to do it any other way.

What is the real story here? Are people upset that others can wear a full mf set and out perform, or play equivalent to someone else in stacked out gear?

Think of it this way, the players wearing full MF gear while they farm should be, by far, better players than those who never do. Why? Because they have been able to succeed in ‘sub-par’ gear while you are moaning they aren’t in stacked stat gear to help you.

Instead of crying why other people aren’t playing the way you want them to play, maybe you tell them “Good job. It’s impressive how you can handle all of those mobs wearing MF gear. Man, I wish I could do that in my stacked stat gear”.

As of late I have been working on karma gear. So, been pretty heavily farming Penitent and shelter’s events.

Has it been decided that MF is useless? I have been running around with just under 100 for quite some time now. The drops do not appear to be better. You would think with more of a chance, something good would be dropping eventually.

Also, I don’t remember the last time, if ever, I have seen an exotic drop. The ones I usually obtain are from finishing quests/areas (which those usually don’t apply to my character).

I have several places I could add more (jewelry/accessories), but should I?

So, here I am moving right along in my Personal Story doing the subject mentioned quest. I find myself cruising through from point to point and get to the lower level. I thought I would check my map to see what’s going on as to where I am, and BAM! got DC’d.

I hurry and instantly log back in, in a matter of only a few seconds. What do I see?

Point out another game which was completely and absolutely flawless 3 months after it released.

I don’t think having the bugs is the issue. It’s the bugs that are showing up that have nothing to do with what Anet said was done.

Did you read the patch notes? What in there could have altered jumping? What?

If the code is so mangled and unorganized as it appears to be to the user, I can only imagine what it would be like to actually see it.

Also, people get really tired of of companies failing to implement a “lesson learned” policy. It becomes fairly obvious that everything learned from the final stages GW 1, was not remembered or used appropriately during the makings of GW 2.

I am in a similar situation right now. I attempted to use the thistlereed waypoint, the game crashed. Now upon entering the game with that character, it is stuck loading that place and crashes nonstop.

While writing this I used the -repair command, and it fixed it. Give it a go OP.

It seems going through the different traits there are alot of them increaseing DS/Life Force. Quite frankly, I find DS to be complete boredom. The skills are terribly boring. The only one entertaining is number 4. Does a Necro really need to depend on DS as the traits suggest?

How can we tell, without digging through every single recipe, what I can make for a specific character level? The only lists I am finding are ones that show craft level, not what level the character needs to be in order to wear it.

I agree with purely UI additions. There is so much information that the game currently collects that we can’t readily see (at least I haven’t found a way yet).

For example, more character stats. Do we really have to track every piece separately to know how much MF we have, or condition damage….things like that?

And a huge +1 for saving the different builds. I have no clue how something so important could be left out.

OK. I see the problem. First, it does keep it correctly saved.

You just have to close the character screen for it to change the item’s color. Otherwise, the item in the character screen remains the original.

No. Your 100% wrong. I have 4 sets of lvl 80 exotic armor I swap through. Each set has it’s colors memorized that I have chosen….

Then something is wrong with what I’m doing. I clearly made different bazaar colors to test it…. but when I switch to the original item, it remains the same bazaar colors, not the original.

I’m to the point to where I am gathering different sets of gear with different purposes in mind. For example, a healing set, a mf set, or maybe a pure damage set.

My first thought was great! I will dye each set different colors so I know for certain what is going on. But you can’t!

Whether it’s a bunker build or not, it doesn’t change the OPs story. Since when is running a bunker build on an Ele a reportable offense?

The thing to point out here, is that a thief failed to 2 button down an ele and got upset.

The question that is still relevant here is, why does a class with more armor – allowed to do that much more damage than an ele’s DPS build? You want diversity in Ele builds? Fix the damage to where a glasscannon’s should be.

ANET please dumb down your game.

Ignore Jumper tool. He’s plays a thief. Easily, the cheesiest class in this game. Any thief who kills another class, the points should be awarded to the downed player. It’s that easy for a thief.

Now, I agree with the OP. No class, No build should ever be able to kill any class under 2-3 seconds, especially while they are cc’d back to back to back.

It really pisses me off my “Master of Damage” class does far less damage vs. every other class in the game. An Ele can spec pure glass cannon and still do far worse with damage then any other classes’ glass cannon builds.

In general, the melee in this game is way out of hand. Most pick on the thief class, deserving so (they should just be removed from the game). But ALL melee in this game can rip up the damage charts. I don’t know why Anet thinks this burst damage is the key to a good pvp game. Apparently their plan is to not require the old fashioned way of playing, with skill.

I tell you right now, as many others have, there is no way in hell this game should ever even think about going Esport. Not gonna happen, or be worthy at all.

Update for those of you who get this…
After uninstalling and reinstalling, the same thing was occurring. I went to the documents library under guild wars 2. I removed every single file in there, save for the folders Music and Screens.

It appears to actually be re-installing now. Only a couple hundred thousand files to go. I wouldn’t mind get my full bandwidth worth out of this though (12MB/sec). But I guess 1.8MB/sec is faster than other companies allow.

Tried different things..and took the drastic route…

1. Uninstalled game.
2. Began reinstallation. I get to the point to where I enter the location for installation…then once it begins to install, I get the same crash as before.

System crashed while updating the patch. Now when I try to start, it goes straight into the popup box that requests I send the report to ArenaNet.

Now what?
I have tried renaming the gw2.dat file, and moving it to a different location. Same thing happened.

Agree. Downstate should be removed 100% from spvp/tpvp.

There is no ‘guild’ wars here. Recommend changing the name something different, like maybe "Lessons We Failed 2Lrn From WoW? Hint: One hitters ruin pvp.

There is no team play reward here. You can be a support class (like they force elementalists) and get no points for keeping people alive. So, you have to leave the behind to go get those cap points. Bad design.

Leveling in PvP is a pain in the kitten Should it be? I guess, why not. But PvP in it’s current state is why you are seeing screenshots pop up with the majority of the classes playing it, are the I’m a dumb monkey class.

It goes stun into stun…into another stun, at the end of which I am typically dead.

Most of the time I can’t use a single ability because of this kind of chain CC.

Is the only counter to such a thing a stun-breaker? I mean even if you do use it successfully the fact that they can chain one stun into another…with the recipient unable to move or act….just seems stupid.

I’m asking for help here. Maybe there’s something I don’t know, some mechanic I missed. How can I not be caught in this kind of CC stun chain?

It’s the Anet model. Allow classes to completely obliterate other classes while those other classes are unable to defend themselves. They really don’t have a clue about class balancing for PvPs situations not involving PvE intermingled. But who cares, they have your money.

I’m not sure if I should laugh at you or be angry at your stupidity. Every single build/class/setup/play style/game mechanic is countered by multiple builds/classes/setups/play styles/game mechanics. Name ONE CLASS that “completely obliterate[s] other classes while those other classes are unable to defend themselves”. I dare you.

Who wants to watch people 2 hitting others or CC locking people down until they are dead? Or, the M A J O R difference in the downstate skills from class to class? Here we go again…another kool-aid drinker. Of course people are instantly killed. Team this team that..blah blah blah. If you die on the node (where everyone should be fighting btw), and if it is a close bout, I would not expect my teammate to stop trying to kill the enemy to have a minute chance of getting me up off the ground. Not all down state skills are the same. There is only so much certain classes can do. Then there is absolutely nothing other ones can do in that state.

Maybe some players aren't cut out for PvP? (not about skill)

There is no way to tell who is ‘cut out’ for PvP and who isn’t here. The balance is so far out of reach, I don’t expect it to last 3 more months with a steady flow of players.

I have noticed a lot of players on this forum and others, who usually exceed the upper limits of most PvP games, bring up the same concerns as people on this forum. The problem on this forum is that the people who are playing these classes are commenting as much as they can with the learn 2 play, nothing wrong here, it’s ok if a class that is invisible can 1-2 hit you….it’s all your fault. It’s OK if this guy is shooting 30 times before you can even get cast off to protect yourself…… and on and on.

Bottom line, if this does not get fixed….. sorry for ya GW2.

This has gone on long enough. You know there are some serious crap going on here. For example, Ele downstate. If you have one employee that says it is fine as is, they should not only be fired, but their name should be publicly shamed so no one else will hire them. /rant off

leveling, I had no issue and found it to be pretty easy to be honest. I really don’t think it matters where you slap your traits. I rolled right through it. Maybe they changed something since then? I don’t know. Just make sure you are using as many attunements as you can.

I don’t see an issue in Pve, while leveling. I see a huge one in PvP, though.

Good luck with that though MindlessRuff. I’m running, I guess, one of these bunker builds. All melee hits so kitten hard and rangers shoot so kitten fast. Sure we have a few things we can do that last a few seconds. But they hit and shoot non kittening stop. And don’t even get me started on mesmers. This game is broke kitten. Rangers are getting away with some serious kitten. It’s just thieves and mesmers are overshadowing them.
