Sometimes I don’t know if you don’t understand posts or you’re willfully ignoring the content.
You have never, in any thread I’ve seen, given us any idea as to what other programs are running at the time you play the game, what drivers you have on the system, your exact hardware configuration, or any other actual useful information, despite being repeatedly asked for it.
I have never seen a dxdiag from you, nor an analysis from game advisor attached to one of your posts. All you do is sit there and say “I’m not doing this because I know it’s not my system” – which would be fine if you demonstrated a competence in the technicalities of computer hardware and software, which you repeatedly fail to do by posting obviously irrelevent and unsubstantiated (the Haven benchmark is a good example, you brag about what you get and yet you won’t post the actual results as created by the program!) rubbish.
You’re much happier just posting about stuff that doesn’t help anyone who is (or was) offering you help so you have a bit of a whinge.
SSDs are not expensive at the moment. You can get a good 128GB model for under $100 I’d imagine. They’re certainly under 100CHF as I look.
You get an amazing amount of performance for that money. I would venture to say that a 10K RPM drive will be more expensive than a good 128GB SSD.

@Soulwatcher, please don’t post your own misguided ideas as facts. None of what you said can be remotely backed up by any sort of actual data.
I also have 2 machines in this house, neither of which use a “1k processor” and neither of which have any FPS issues.
Will you stop trolling?
How many times are you going to post drivel that isn’t remotely useful to troubleshooting in any way?
The Haven benchmark has nothing to do with GW2, and therefore it will not show any relation between your system settings and GW2 performance.
What are your magical Haven scores, anyway? I notice that you’ve neglected to upload them.

Yea, the High Definition Audio Device would the Realtek one, but it looks like you don’t have the proper drivers installed.
Go to the manufacturer of your motherboard and download the audio drivers from there. You can use Speccy to find the make and model of your motherboard.
If, once they’re installed, you still have the same issue, you can plug speakers into your headphones slot on the monitor.
If you need help finding out how to disable Realtek in the BIOS, you need to google that because it will be specific to your motherboard.
Yes, you should have an HDD that spins at 7200RPM on a desktop. Anything else is slowing performance down.
Graphics card, hardware error if you’re getting visual corruption on the screen.
Monitor your GPU temperature in Catalyst Control Centre, it sounds like it’s overheating.
If you can (and it’s not under warranty) give your GPU fans (and the PC in general) a good dusting on the inside with compressed air. Make sure you hold the fans still!
Don’t let it carry on like that for too long, you’re at the point of permanently damaging the GPU.
Is vysnc on?
Graphics tearing is caused the frames not being in sync with your monitor’s refresh rate.
Not at the moment (the Consumer Preview had some issues that stopped me from using it) but I did play for about two weeks on Windows 8. Performance was a smidge better to be honest.

It’s not up to Anet to fix AMD’s processors, sorry.
If you’re playing on an X4 or X6 and getting sub 25FPS, that’s an issue with your system rather than the game because there are plenty of people playing with those that have decent FPS.
If you’ve got an FX chip.. It’s not going to be a stable performance because the CPUs are garbage.
The Ranger 30 point elites are pretty useless for PvP. The best one by far is the root & bleed skill, but that only costs 10 points.
Sometimes I think there really aren’t enough skills for slots 6-0. There’s really not a lot there, coming from GW1. This is especially true for elite skills. I’ve gotten three characters to level 30, and two of them are pretty much shelved now because the choice of elite skills and higher tier slot skills is just poor.

Realtek audio drivers are more than likely the cause of this. You can try and get the newer ones, but depending on the exact audio chipset on your motherboard, you might still have problems.
If your GPU has HDMI out, I would use that instead and disable the Realtek Audio in the BIOS, and then uninstall the drivers.
If you read around a bit, it seems to be a conflict between Nvidia drivers and Realtek drivers.
Don’t really agree Nova, there is a massive difference even on low end computers when it comes to booting up, loading applications (not just games) and loading times within applications. Yes, even if the computer is low end.
The OP has been whinging for ages. In every thread, he posts no useful information, even when told specifically what to provide.
He is unwilling to check anything on his own system for the cause of the problem, and has provided no useful information to the developers.
He’s a troll, basically.
I’m not a troll.. no i am not willing to check my own system ..your logic sucks man.
Enough said, really. Either cooperate or stop complaining.
Your processor is likely a cause of the slower loading times. That being said, running an SSD on a Sata2 port will cap it a little bit too.

Do your GPUs have HDMI out?
Does your motherboard include Realtek Audio?
If so, try using the GPU to supply sound and completely remove all Realtek drivers and disable the audio device in device manager.

Quick Q – hardware?
Nvidia GPU and Realtek audio?
As far as I can tell, the loading screens are effected by two things;
1) HDD / SSD speed.
2) Connection speed & quality.
So, make sure your HDD (Not SSD!) is defragmented (best thing to do would be to download defraggler, where you can specifically tell it to defrag the Guild Wars 2 folder.)
Next, delete the Guild Wars 2 folder from My Documents as suggested above.
If that doesn’t fix it, give your router a good power cycle (turn it off for 30 seconds before turning it back on).
See if that helps.

I’m thinking it must be a driver issue. I’m using the Logitech Performance MX and simply do not have anything like this issue.
Make absolutely sure you’re using the latest SetPoint software.
Make absolutely sure you have the latest Unifying software for the USB receiver.
OP, does your motherboard have a PCI-E x16 slot?
It sounds to me like you’ve put a high end card on a motherboard that doesn’t have the capability to support it.

Your CPU is bottlenecking. It’s not good for gaming, sadly. Especially not for massively multiplayer situations where there are many players on the screen. It will perform badly in quite a few games, despite how much you over-estimate your FPS in other games.
It certainly doesn’t have enough power to let those two cards perform at maximum.
No exaggeration at all.
And of course a 670 will struggle at that resolution. That’s obvious. Or it should be.
That’s rubbish. I have no FPS issues on my i7 2600K and it’s not overclocked at the moment. GPU is 670.
Without vsync on, I’m now comfortable over 60FPS (into the 90s) in nearly everything.
WvW averages just above 60.
If you have issues turning the camera and it’s on best appearance, take sampling down to native and turn off best texture filtering.
It’s an EU server, so they can speak any EU language by definition.
Saying they must speak English is just absurd.
Are you naive enough to believe that only Brits play on EU servers?
I play on Whiteside Ridge, which is an EU (non-specific server).
Someone advertised for a guild in what I think was Italian, and he was immediately shouted down by two people for “not speaking English in the public chat”. One of these people then got into how, because it’s an EU (non specific) server, everyone should speak in English on the /map channel because “it’s polite.”
I got quite annoyed by this. I’m English but I’ve lived in different places in the EU, and it annoys me. I actually find it to be somewhat racist that he tells someone that they should not speak in a language other than English in the /map channel.
Am I over reacting, or do other people find this quite disturbing?
A 660Ti is a lot more than 10% slower. It flat out struggles to get 60FPS in quite a few games, according to benchmarks. The 670 doesn’t.
The 520GT is a terrible card and it’s not suitable for gaming. If someone sold it to you under that pretense, you’ve been conned.
Make sure your drivers are up to date.
The price of a 670 is easily worth it. Easily.
First thing, your drivers are out of date. Yours haven’t been updated since March.
Second thing, your CPU, while capable, is a few generations old. Try turning shadows and reflections off.
Try putting the receiver in a different USB slot. Preferably on the front of your PC and not next to a wireless adapter.
Fwiw, I play the game on max settings with this spec – on autodetect (which is pretty much max apart from shadows) and even in WvW FPS doesn’t dip below 50 (and I’ve been in some massive battles). It’s actually solidly on 60 with vysnc on since a patch last week;
i7 2600K (this is better value than the ivys, for me, it overclocks in a more stable way and runs cooler) – it can max the game at stock speeds before any overclocks.
EVGA GTX 670 (people say the 6xx range has problems in general – they don’t. It’s either a very specific card or it’s unique to very specific configurations. I’ve had no performance issues with this card, and if I have vysnc off the average FPS is into the 90s most of the time, 120s when no one else is around and never below the 50FPS mark in WvW)
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
Corsair Force 3 SSD.
Win7 X64 Pro (Home just as good for gaming).
Have you power cycled your router once these disconnects start happening frequently?
AMD cpus always perform better in the synthetic benchmarks than real life, and especially gaming. They’ve not made a good range for gaming since the X4 Phenom range.
Cinematic causes full system crash and restart

Does it happen in any other cutscenes?
It might be worth adding the -repair switch to the guildwars 2 shortcut.
(Right click icon > properties, the paste this in the “target” field;
C:\GW2\gw2.exe -repair)
Change the drive letter if the game isn’t install on C!
It could also be that you’re getting a blue screen but your computer is restarting before it’s been displayed. You need to see the error message if that is the case, so right click on My Computer > properties > advanced system settings > click startup and Recovery settings button > System failure: Untick automatically restart.
Then you need a program like whocrashed? to read the error dump and turn it into something meaningful.

The only thing you can really do is to make sure they’re not fragmented. Type “defrag” into the start menu.
Ah – yes OK. It will be 5400rpm then and that’ll be why the loading times are a tad on the slow side.
It might also improve with a better internet connection too, but you’ll be limited by the HDD speed.
I’d agree with that, Swedemon, except for the CPU. Remove that AMD from there.

You’d be better off seeing if someone can build one for you at that price. You’ll get a better deal. Although, still nothing fantastic.
What’s the speed of the HDD (yes, that’s the right abbreviation) in rpm? 7200 or 5400? It’ll be listed on your documentation that came with the PC.
Alternatively, you can download a program called Speccy that will tell you.

Well yes! :P
But the more important question is how much are you spending? Because if it’s more than £300 / $400 then it’s too much.
There are two things that can effect loading times;
HDD and connection quality to the game’s servers. I’ve noticed many times that when the servers are struggling you will get stuck on the loading screen for quite a lot longer than usual.
So, what drive is the game being played on, and are you experiencing any lag when playing the game?

I’m hesitant to say yes because I don’t know how well that CPU will hold out when there’s a lot of players in the area.
This is an internet connection issue and so has nothing to do with computer specs.
Are there any commonalities between you guys? country, isp?

No, it won’t run it “well” if you encounter a couple of other players.
Maybe at a low resolution (sub 720p) it will be fine.

That very much depends on his motherboard and GPU though. Not everything works with GPU-Z or indeed reports correctly to it.
