I think that the Dervish would fit very well into GW2, especially when Elona would be playable in GW2 in wide future. This is just how I see it.

You know, except for the fact that none of the races believe in the human gods except for the humans. and like it or not, the dervishes powers were highly linked to the human gods, the names of the gods even being referenced in the names of the skills.

Thats a good idea. I would opt for a druid type class that can transform into other animals, monsters or lesser races perhaps. This way you don’t have to worry about armor you wear but the creature will dictate how you fight.

It might be called a “shifter” so you can stay in your normal form or perhaps like an ele transform into different creatures. So it would be like a soldier melee profession like an elementalist. You can also trait into the different creatures on trait lines.

Some examples would be maybe you can shift into:
skritt
quaggan
dredge
kodan
ogre
krait
minotaurs
harpys

this way players can opt to trait to be a quaggan fighter underwater a lot, or perhaps for a skritt elite where you can shift into three skritt to fight. just an idea

This just seems a bit redundant to me though considering that Norn can already shape-shift, and outside of game mechanics, can do it nearly at will and for however long they wish.

I’m curious, why do you feel it is so obvious that the partner should be of the opposite sex?

Haha, you beat me to the punch!
That’s the first thing i thought as i read that sentence, especially considering since homosexuality is not completely unheard of in Tyria

Underpopulated Zone Fix "Underflow"

This would be a very appreciated changed. Especially if combined with revamped events and champion loot. It would make the open world (in any zone) feel even more alive and engaging.

Yea this ^. This is the whole reason I came up with this idea, right now when I have a low level character and all I find myself doing to level him is clearing the starter zones then crafting to 80, is that how we should reach max level? IMO I feel that zones shouldn’t have been created if all we had to do was craft, but then this wouldn’t be Guild Wars 2 it would be, Happy Crafty Online Game. I love the different ways to level a toon in this game, but I feel that too much emphasis is placed on, go level using WvW or our new temporary content instead of the entire world that was crafted specifically for that purpose.

I don’t craft myself to 80, That takes too much effort and running around collecting stuff. This is the first time I’ve even heard of someone suggesting that a an idea! Just seems crazy to me.

Anyway, I do like your idea though, Some zones do have population issues, not so much on my server but i know other servers are more desolate. An option to transfer to a global server with players from all the other servers would help deal with those issues.

I just have one concern though. If there’s lets say 10 people in Queensdale on each server at this one point in time, and 5 of those people transfer to the underflow, then you’d have an even more underpopulated server map. Sure the underflow map would be booming with people, but it would keep some people from staying in their home server. This can give the impression to new players that the game has a giant margin between new player characters and high level veteran players as well as make them feel even more alone than before, which just gives more motivation to join the underflow map. Eventually everyone in those maps will always be in an underflow, and on each server those maps will always be near completely empty.

Cosmetics, Town clothes improvements

I don’t think letting classes wear armor that is a lower tier than theirs (for example, a warrior wearing light armor) is a good idea, because there are those people who will calculate the specifics and somehow be able to make a class even more powerful than what it was before by wearing a specific combination of lower tiered armor. This could mess with the balance of the game, and thus less likely to be implemented.

However; I do think that making it so that you are not automatically kicked out of town clothes mode when entering combat is a good idea. Town clothes provide no armor advantage or anything so anyone trying to fight in them would get destroyed, but if you are a high level and your just running through a low level area trying to get someplace, and lets say, you’re role-playing a vacation, it would be nice to not have to keep changing your clothes over and over whenever you get hit or aggro something.

I’m leveling a Mesmer right now and don’t think the focus is a must-have “or be slow forever” thing at all. I am GS/Staff and I haven’t felt any kind of "slow"feelings. No need to add the change.

Plus, we don’t need another reason to be called OP.

I personally don’t have this problem. Being over-privileged I don’t have any kind of loading issues or lag etc. with LA or any other area in GW2.

Butt… <— hehe, butt

I do see where OP is coming from, and I have noticed how empty the racial capitals are starting to look. More events in other parts of the world is a good idea. LA is really starting to get old and it would be nice to see events held in other cities like the Grove, or Black Citadel, etc. especially if they were to add permanent content to the cities that fleshed them out a bit, and gave them more of a purpose than a personal story hub from 1-15 and a maze to run around and – as previously stated in this thread- “clutch as lore straws”.

Hello,

My suggestion is about the positioning of the camera that follows the character. I know there is a slider currently to move the camera to the left or to the right, well; my suggestion is to add another slider that can move the camera position up or down. Its a simple thing to do I would think.

The thing is, I prefer to have the camera positioned so that I can see less of the foreground and more of the background: where my character is looking, and of course, everything above it, be it sky / buildings / etc. Not to be confused with first person camera. My issue, is that the current camera position – which seems to be focused on the characters torso – limits my vision quite a lot. Half my screen tends to be foreground and the rest is the background which lends to a lot of useless space in terms of artistic appeal. Zooming out doesn’t improve this either, as since the camera is focused on the characters torso, it only increases the amount of foreground I can see along with background equally.

Now, I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since Beta and I regret not bringing this up way earlier, but I always thought of it as just a minor annoyance. As I have progressed throughout the game though and explored the immensely beautiful world of Tyria, I have run into so many times when my screen was mostly full of ground, and not the action of the boss battle – especially those gigantic dragons.

My proposal is to add a third slider in the options interface under camera controls that allows the re-positioning of the camera vertically. Think of it as the same as the slider that positions it horizontally, but vertically instead. This way, many other players and I would be able to position the camera a bit higher than where it is currently focused. This will eliminate a lot of the empty foreground that blocks our view, and open up that space in the top of the screen to view more of the world.

I know in PVP many people prefer to be zoomed completely out and like the idea of seeing so much foreground because it allows them to see what is behind their character for bit of a distance, which is fine; but the addition of a optional slider would not hinder these people in any way for the simple fact thakittens optional to change the position and that it can easily be changed later on.

I have added a screenshot that explains the foreground problem I am talking about titled “WhatISeeNow”. I have also included a screenshot showing what it might look like if I could re-position the camera vertically to eliminate the foreground titled “SliderPositionPrediction”. This is a collage of many different screenshots pieced together to show the kind of view that might be achieved with the integration of the slider I am proposing. Not the best quality but you get the idea.

Anyway, I hope that this gets seen by ArenaNet/GW2GMs and I hope that they like my idea enough to integrate it in a update eventually.

Thanks anyone who may have read my suggestion for your time and effort,
- Jason
